The lamb beef swarma in wrapped in a thin wrap that doesn't overwhelm the flavors and ingredients of the contents inside. Inside there is kebab meat, cucumber tomatoe mix dressed with a light greek yogurt lime sauce. They ask for spiciness level but they're spiciest level is not very hot. It is as hot as a banana pepper. There fries are also different. It is more of an in n out style. Fresh potatoes that are fried to order. They are also unsalted and topped with a spice and parsley. Came here and tried the falafel. They were fantastic!!! They are .50 cents each, so you can decide how ever many you want. I wasn't too hungry and wanted something small. You know how everyone loves Panda Express even though everyone KNOWS it's fake Chinese Food? I think that's the same case with Taboun. Except Panda Express at least tastes good. Compared to the authentic Lebanese food I've had, this was a mediocre attempt that according to the other reviews though, people seem to love. In my opinion, the only thing to write home about was the Baba Ghanouj and the chicken skewer. Roasted flavor is always nice and this was done right if it was homemade (Doubtful). Same deal with the chicken skewer. Juicy and made to order. Falafel was crispy and passable. Everything else on our Veg combo plate though was sad and old. The cucumber and tomato salad was obviously more than a day old. The tabbouli was soggy and tired. The hummus had an awful taste that made Sabra taste like the nectar of the Sultans. One of the dipping sauces was straight up rancid. The dolmas tasted canned. It's been repeating on me all afternoon. Lamb tasted like mutton, and yes, I know the difference. I would have told the staff but they were more interested in having a conversation about scary movies than bother to ask us how our meal was. Even the older owner walked in, saw us, and went straight into the kitchen. What happened to proper hospitality? I can't believe it took me this long to find this gem. I have lived not too far from this restaurant and I can't believe I have not gone sooner. The food there was good and the portions are very generous. Some dishes that you should consider trying: +Baba ganoush +Lentil rice (side) +Hummus +Lamb kabob The lamb was not overcooked and they gave us a good amount of meat. The side of rice that came with the lamb kabob place was also really good and very fragrant. You are able to choose two sides with your entree plate, which I appreciated. They had a wide variety of sides to choose from. Their fries were decent (but they gave you a lot of fries if you order this as a choice of side). They also had a very tasty Mediterranean salad, which I really enjoyed. Very much "grandma's" cooking, the lady behind the counter was so friendly and warm and constantly asked us if we had enough, that there was water if the spicy sauce was too spicy. My wife found this place on Yelp so we decided to give Taboun. We ordered Baba Ghanouj, Lamb Shish Kabab Wrap, and Beef Shish Kabab plate with Dolmas and Baraja (fries). The inside of the Lamb wrap was delicious but the pita or lavash was dry. The Beef plate was very good and well cooked, the Dolmas was very good but the Batata was kind of overcooked, my wife enjoyed the Baba Ghanouj. Mouris was so helpful on the phone and made sure everything got delivered on time for our event! It's a very tiny establishment. Being an out of towner and unfamiliar with the quality of the food and based off reviews I went safe, went basic with the falafel, plated it with the hummus and the baba gaunush. I mean because how can you go wrong with falafel? The lady at the counter was not friendly almost seeking inpatient with us looking over the menu before we actually decided. Mind you the restaurant was empty wasn't like we were holding up a line or anything's. The wrap itself was dry, burnt black in spots I pretty much ended up opening up the wrap and just eating the insides. Upon opening the wrap I felt it had lots of filling that didn't consist of actual falafel but more so onion, tomato, pickle and cucumber. The hummus was good, creamy and topped with olive oil. The Gaunush however was extremely bland. I have had much better when it comes to this in particular dish, so I was super disappointed, should have stuck with just the hummus. The falafel was amazing, very clean tasting, the hummus a little bland (maybe a little more spices to be mixed) but again very clean tasting and fresh. And the chicken shawarma was large, like 3/4 my arm. Hot sauce was very good, home made. Had a kick but not over powering or destroying my taste buds (I've got a pretty good spice tolerance).
