Quick in n out for food! If you are in the neighborhood, it is worth stopping by if you're craving falafel but wouldn't go out of my way.

Yummy food, friendly fast service, great value! The vegetarian plate was beautiful, plentiful and delicious. The plate came with warm pita bread and we also got the pistachio baklava to complete our perfect lunch. Place was cozy comfort.

I enjoy visiting Taboun for a quick lunch or dinner. Their vegetarian entrees are tasty. I appreciate the kindness of the staff every time I arrive. Ordered through Yelp for pick-up this time and was slightly disappointed with the falafel was not even warm. (previously the falafels were fried right in front kitchen and served perfectly cooked and hot). I suggest order at the counter upon arrival and wait for the meal for dine-in. They have a lovely dining space. My partner was not impressed by the chicken shwerma wrap... I will return to try again. Thank you.

I ordered the beef and lamb shawirma plate with hummus and salad, to go, and it was so yum! It was also huge. I wish there was a bit more sauce (I'm a sauce gurl) on the rice and meat but overall pretty good. It also comes with a side of yummy warm pita. I also got some falafels and they were so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, delicious! This lasted me a couple meals.

It's been sometime since I last visited. Taste is still legit, portion has shrank.. yes inflation, but as a consumer I am not so sure I am happy with my portion. Stomach still feeling little empty after my meal. Nice and clean place to sit down for a meal in the neighborhood.

I walked into this quiet spot for lunch after a long morning at the hospital. I was happy to see they had Chicken Shawarma on the menu. The restaurant was quiet around 2 PM, and I could see the meat cooking behind the counter. I was excited to taste it! I ordered the Shawarma with a fizzy mineral water. The chicken wasn't as tasty as I hoped, though. It needed more seasoning, and didn't have the strong flavors I expected from Shawarma. On the bright side, it wasn't tough, and there were lots of fresh veggies in the wrap like cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. There were also some pickles which added a nice tang. But for $14, I was expecting a lot more flavor. It's a bit too much money for a meal that didn't wow me. I don't think I'd go back for the Chicken Shawarma. The place was nice, and the service was fast, but the food just didn't match up to the price.

We had a fabulous luncheon today and everything was delicious!!! It's a rarity to find a place that makes fresh falafels!!! Actually they make everything fresh!! The place is so charming and the owners are very welcoming. We ordered almost everything and everything thing was perfect I wish the photos were better but we couldn't wait to dive right in. Portions are very generous. We had the lamb & beef shiskabobs over rice, the hummus, bobaganush, dolmas, tabouli, falafels, chicken shawarma wrap along with their home made hot sauce. YUM!!!!

5 stars on my order for pick-up! Ready right on time. Ordered Chicken shwarma wrap, Veggitarrian Combo comes with hummus, babaganoosh, cucumber Salad, taboule, pita, falafel, grape leaves: so good! I ordered extra falafel & hummus to go with the Shwarma wrap dinner. Dinner for two people and leftovers also! Great quality, great food.

Beef Shish Kabab Plate with Taboun Salad & Baba Ghanouj

I came here for lunch yesterday with my best friends & was pleasantly surprised! One of them recommended this spot but since he hadn't been here for a few years we were worried it wouldn't be as good. Luckily it exceeded our expectations! It's a smaller place and a little pricer but the portions are definitely worth it! I ordered the beef shish kebab with Taboun salad & falafel. They accidentally gave me baba ghanouj instead so ended up giving me some falafel on the side. I didn't mind and it would've been okay if they didn't give me the falafels but really appreciated that Jose went above and beyond to correct it. My best friends ordered the lamb-beef shawarma plate & the lamb shish kebab plate. The beef shish kebab, lamb-beef patties & the lamb shish kebab were all so good & smelled delicious! My friend said the humus was a little too sour for her. I really liked the Taboun salad because it was the perfect amount of citrus. And the falafels, omg the falafels!!! So perfectly golden brown, crispy and flavorful! I didn't try the baba ghanouj since eggplant is not my thing but my friends did say it was really good. I'll definitely have to come back since my bf loves falafels too!

We got the chicken shawerma plate and vegetarian combo and it was all sooo good. I wanted to try everything they had because I haven't had all of it before so I wanted to try. I also wanted to highlight the hummus because it was really good with the pita and stuffing everything in the pita. Atmosphere - Small place with a few tables for seating due to COVID. It fit our group of 4. It's a warm feeling type of place as there are paintings/murals on the walls and it was really fascinating to look at. Service - The aunties (meant in an endearing, respectful way) that were working were attentive and answered any questions that we had. They were professional and got the food out. Everything looked really good! Cost - Anywhere from $10 to $20, depends on what you get of course but a good amount of food for the price that you pay. We ended up with delicious leftovers which we ate later on. Parking - Street parking, but we walked there as we were staying in an Airbnb that was close by. And then it was easy to take the bus from there, there was a bus stop there as well. I would definitely eat here again for the food and atmosphere!

Service attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. The food is excellent, with rich, authentic Armenian and Mediterranean flavors. The kebabs were made with chicken breast, but very tender and moist, and the side of hummus was fresh, creamy and delicious. We also tried the sangria which was great- not too sweet and decently strong (not watered down bad wine). For dessert, the lemon cake was tasty but odd that dried cranberries were sprinkled into the whipped cream. I appreciated the variety offered on the menu- not just typical Greek food you find everywhere else that touts "Mediterranean food". The service was super nice and efficient, and I like that it has been family owned and run (sadly an increasingly rare San Francisco characteristic these days)- you can tell the difference in the quality and thought put into the experience.

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

I'm sure there are other Persian cafés and restaurants as good as Lavash. I hardly stop to think about what made Lavash interesting. A clear teapot filled with saffron tea with rock candy on a stick; seen how they dip it in after pouring the tea. Interesting orange color indeed! A plate of zucchini, grape tomatoes, Moroccan mint leaves, and a pair of Bulgarian cheese; complimentary for my first visit here. Persian noodle soup, filled with beans, chickpeas, and lentils; loved the floral notes in every spoonful. Main course, veggie kabob on a bed of basmati rice drenched in saffron and spices, along with some onions and mushrooms, and of course, a large Lavash bread at the bottom to fill the whole plate. The best part is to completely sandwich wrap after I marginalized the contents on the plate. Ahhh! Satisfying to the last bite of herbs and spices. Not filling though, but I had no need for any dessert. Another highly recommended place to eat for locals and tourists alike.
