    Soft launch night 2
    Alyssa C.

My husband has been following Taco Bronco on Instagram for a bit waiting for them to open behind Batch, so we were thrilled to find out we could pop in to their soft launch this weekend. The truck is situated behind Batch so there's plenty of room and tables (although I suspect they'll need more tables outside ASAP!) and it's a great location for meeting up with a group or spending time outside. The menu was decently sized, with six taco options, and an additional taco special, three sandwhich options, several sides, and a few nacho options as well. I was happy to see that even for a barbecue truck, there were some vegan options on the menu--well done! They even have some share platters if you're looking to do more of a barbecue experience. My husband ordered the tres hombres platter which includes three tacos of your choice, chips with queso, rice, and beans. He picked the jefe (brisket), javelina (carnitas), and verraco (boar sausage) and we really enjoyed them all. These tacos are pretty decently sized, and packed with fillings that make them more of a meal that some other taco spots do. The brisket one included a yummy potato hash and a creamy sauce, I think that would be my go to next time for sure. Super tender, nice bark, can't beat it. The rice was good, the beans were super flavorful and a bit spicy, and chips and queso are always good around here. The meal was a great deal--$16 total when each taco alone is $5. Really enjoyed this meal and the service was great. Looking forward to popping in the future!

Review: Hot new place that opened up behind Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches. Highly recommended it's a must try, that being said these are not your traditional Mexican Tacos these are a BBQ meets Tex/Mex mashup. I got the Tres Hombres Platter (Description Below) and was blown away by the price value and the flavor profile. The Javelina Taco was delicious the pork was juicy, flavorful, that toasted cheese took it to the next level and the pickled onions gave it a nice freshness and acidity. The Birria Taco was unique not your typical smoked lamb or consomme however their twist was still delicious, juicy and paired with their bronco sauce just elevated it. Finally my personal favorite the El Jefe Taco was pure nothing but perfect. Their brisket was on point, the potato hash was the perfect pairing and finished off with queso can't get better than that. The chips and queso were good, their rice was great and their beans were decent. Rating: 9/10 The Tres Hombres Platter: Three tacos of your choice served with rice, beans, chips and queso The Javelina: Crispy smoked pork carnitas, mesquite roasted pecans, Bronco Sauce, toasted cheese, cilantro and pickled onion El Jefe: Sliced brisket, cactus and potato hash topped with queso Birria Taco: Smoked Lamb with Consomme

The brisket burrito of my dreams!!!!!!! Super cute taco truck from the micklethwait fam, using the BBQ in tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and the aforementioned BURRITO. Y'all this burrito is called "El Jefe" and it has your choice of meat and potato hash inside, is smothered with queso and sour cream, guac, hot sauce, and homemade pickles on the side. I died and went to heaven. It's a fork and knife kind of situation for sure, but it packs in the flavor and is worth every bite. I'll be back to try the other items for sure!!

This fantastic food truck is located in the backyard of Saddle Up. They offer tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos- including veggie options. My sister and I split the El Jefe burrito. It was huge and very tasty!! Shredded brisket and a potato hash inside, topped with queso, sour cream, pico, and jalapeños with guac on the side. Omg just typing this makes me want to go back and order another one. FYI- they only accept credit cards.

Great food! Two of us shared The Tres Hombres platter with the el Jefe, Javelina and the lamb taco special. Loved all the tacos but the el Jefe was our favorite! Loved the beans and rice! Plenty of food for two for only $16.

Cauntos Tacos was recommended to me by my BF, and we decided to go all in with the "1 of Each Kind"…read moremenu option. Boy, am I glad we did this--it was the perfect way to try a little bit of everything and compare favorites side by side. Sauderos - One of my top choices. Great texture and flavor with a nice richness to it. That said, carnitas and longaniza still edged it out for me. Cachete - Almost felt like a milder cousin to the carnitas. I personally preferred the milkier flavor profile of the carnitas, but this was still delicious and incredibly satisfying. Buche - Softer and mushier than I would typically like in a meat filling, but the flavor itself was undeniably good. Texture held it back a bit for me. Carnitas - A classic milkiness that's genuinely hard to beat. Rich, comforting, and probably one of my favorite carnitas I've had so far. Definitely a standout. Longaniza - I've never really been a chorizo person... until now. This completely changed my mind. Deep red color, intensely meaty flavor, rich without being overwhelming--easily one of my favorites of the bunch. Champiñones - More flavorful and spicier than I expected. The mushrooms had a pleasantly chewy texture instead of turning mushy, which I appreciated a lot. Great mushroom flavor overall. Revuelta - Not actually on the menu, but something we personally requested. Delicious combination of meats, though tasting everything back-to-back made this one come across a bit saltier. Still, the pairing worked really well and made for a satisfying bite. The sauces deserve a mention too. The green sauce packed noticeably more heat and leaned herbaceous, while the red sauce had a beautiful smokiness that completely won both my best friend and me over. Service was honestly one of the fastest and most efficient I've seen from a food truck. Everything moved quickly and smoothly despite the steady flow of people. My only real downside had nothing to do with the food itself--I hated standing outside at 8 PM dealing with bugs while eating, but that's more the nature of the setup than the fault of the truck. Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the meat quality and how distinct each taco felt from the next. Carnitas and longaniza were the clear winners for me, but there honestly wasn't a bad taco in the lineup.

5 Stars - So Good, Worth the Hype…read more We finally tried Cuantos Tacos and wow... it absolutely lived up to the hype. Food: The tacos were incredible--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the quality right away. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and the tortillas tasted fresh and authentic. We tried a few different tacos and honestly didn't have a single miss. Simple menu, but done really, really well. Service: Service was friendly and efficient. Even with a line, things moved quickly and the staff were welcoming and patient. You can tell they know what they're doing and take pride in the food. Ambiance: It has that fun Austin food-truck vibe--casual, lively, and a little busy, but in a good way. It feels like one of those places locals love and keep coming back to. Overall: Easy five stars. Amazing tacos, great service, and a cool atmosphere. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again and again.

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. The steak tacos came out pretty hot, fresh from the grill. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk). Give them a shot, and thank the ladies in the kitchen.
