You can also order them crunchy. My order: One ground beef crunchy and one carnitas street taco. Delish. They have a small salsa bar with pickled jalapenos, pico de gallo, etc. They also bring out 3 bottles of their homemade sauces. One tasted like a cool cilantro sauce, the verde had just a bit of kick, and the red was a variety of spicy goodness. Use all 3? Why the hell not. My carnitas taco was crazy good. They cooked the carnitas on the flat top so it was just a tad crispy on the outside. Perfectly seasoned and juicy. Not at all fatty or greasy. Win. My ground beef crunchy taco was good as well. Dressed with tomato, lettuce, and cheese, it was filling. Ground beef was super flavorful; slightly greasy, but no biggie. They have plenty of options overall. Lots of breakfast items, lots of plated dishes like taco salads, nachos, enchiladas, burritos, sopes, all of which they have pictures of on the menu. Staff is friendly and the food hardly takes no time to come out even when the place is crowded during lunch hour. In an area of Hwy 99 that is full of these one-off mexican food joints it definitely competes and may even pass up some of my faves. Will definitely be back! I ordered carne asada sopes (3 semi small ones) Carne asada fries w/o avocado Friend ordered - torta came out in a timely manner.. I am super sick. I ordered through Yelp for a pickup order. The Caldo de Res $8.49 was amazing and exactly what my body needed. The pepers & chilis provided (even if temporary) relief & allowed me to breathe. The broth was so good. This place is great and the closest to what I have become accustom to in Southern California. We ate there a week or so ago and enjoyed our meal very much. As I was leaving one of the partners stopped me and asked me how I liked the meal. I had high praise for him and then he asked how he could improve the business. I told him my favorite meal would be Pork Green Chili Verde which they do not have. I offered him our family recipe which my son John makes all the time back in Southern California which he says is to die for. I love the Carne Asada street tacos. A consistently yummy place to eat for flavorful "home style" Mexican food. The atmosphere is casual-casual. I have found 3 things on the menu that I can't resist: 1) the Breakfast burrito (I get it with shredded chicken) - fantastic deal (under $5) and is exactly what it sounds like -- eggs, hashbrowns, meat, cheese, tortilla. It's good to take on a hike -- very filling. 2) the Big Bowl of Soup with Meat and Veggies in it (can't remember the name) -- it's SPICY, brothy and comes with tortillas and extra veggies to add into the soup, including jalapenos. 3) the Web Burrito -- it's big on the plate with sour cream and red sauce that tastes amazing. It's meaty, cheesy and filling. I give Taco Del Sol 5 stars because it is exactly what it is trying to be -- a family-friendly diner with good food. It's not fancy or expensive. The owner is frequently there to chat with and to help the servers bring food to the diner-style seating.There are plenty of mom-and-pop Mexican food joints that serve good food for decent prices in Tigard, but this one is definitely our favorite. read more

I have tried this place four times because I tried giving the benefit of the doubt. Without fail every time my order is wrong. This is after a twenty minute wait in the drive thru. Today it was a breakfast burrito that was missing bacon and guac, and nachos that didn't have cheese. When I drove the thirty minutes home and noticed this I called them hoping I could get refunded and was told "I don't know what to do or how to help. You can come back and I'll give you the cheese?" Our family visited this Mexican restaurant for breakfast with our three kids today. There was something for everyone to enjoy on the menu. My husband and I had the menudo, it was amazing! The kids had eggs, sausage, bacon, eggs, and tacos al pastor. Everything was delicious. The menudo was SO yummy accompanied with hot hand made tortillas! The service was quick and very friendly.
