Ok peeps... I just moved here from California and going to Santa Ana to get Mexican food was the place to go. I was struggling to find a place here that felt authentic and this place was it! It felt like I was in Santa Ana! From beginning to end! Loud atmosphere, people just walking around aimlessly and with Mexican music in the kitchen! There was a button on Yelp where you can order online through EAT24 and said my order was going to be ready 10-30 mins BUT I do not recommend going that route if you think you'll save time because when I walked in (after the app telling me it's been 23 mins after receiving the order) don't think they even got my order. It felt like they made it when I walked in and the whole point of the app was for them to start it so by the time I got here, I didn't have to wait and that, was not what happened so I had to wait for another 10-15 mins -_- needless to say- just go through the drive thru or order inside and you'll get your food faster I have to say that the lady that was helping me when the cashier past the buck was very kind and checked on me multiple times to let me know that my order was coming. About the food: Had a little craving for a breakfast burrito and told the BF ideally it would have hash browns in it so this place popped up. It was everything that I asked for. Egg,cheese, hash browns (option of adding meat for $1 more) =less than $12 for 2 hefty ones! No bells and whistles it's exactly how it described it. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of here is the Chile/radish bar area. It's usually messy, and their tables sometimes aren't. I know it's not really their job to clean up after people's dishes when left behind because there's a dirty dish tray nearby. Good food okay pricing. read more

My favorite for Mexican. They have good food prepared very well. I love Carna Asada and the Pollo Asado. The ceviche is also amazing!

I've only dined once and was in a hurry to get some food in my belly between appointments, but I didn't want fast food and I didn't want to feel weird dining solo (hard for me--I'm too social and am used to having my husband or friends around). This place worked. You order up front, they deliver to your table, you bus your table. No frills. Servings were ample. I ordered some Taquitos along with an enchilada plate; would've ordered less had I realized how much food was coming. The tortillas tasted fresh/homemade. The sides were fine--unremarkable beans, decent rice. I had horchata that was delicious. Would I go back? Sure. I have no complaints. Was I impressed? This place is not that good from a few years ago. But I decided to try them again to get my son a Carne asada burrito because he didn't want Taco Bell or Jack in the Box. It's a Thursday night and I have been waiting in the Drive-Thru line for over 10 minutes now. So either the cow is being killed in Mexico and having trouble at the Crossing or they're just plain slow and I doubt it is as good as Sanchez Taqueria. The only reason I didn't leave is because I'm sandwiched between two cars waiting here in Mexican drive thru purgatory. I tried the burrito and it is meh. I think I could have grilled some carne asada made my own tortillas and had them ready before the drive thru. I will never go to this place again Alex (that is my son). read more

Sooo tonight we came in and order our usual. We all asked for water cups. I filled my glass with soda water - Carbonated water containing dissolved carbon dioxide gas. Soda water. So manager comes up to me and says that the cup I'm using is only for water and I told him that I was filling mine with soda water. He says yeah it's basically soda. This place is just a worse version of don Pedro's. The steak is terrible it's way too fatty. The wait time is awful, I waited 25 minutes just for my food to come out cold. The staff is nice except for the woman who works there. She always looks like she just ate something sour and doesn't have a good personality at all. I'll just stick to Si Senor. This is probably the WORST experience I have ever had. My friend recommended this place so we go there together to order the food. So we get 5 burritos and to our surprise, we get home to find out there is barely any meat in it. When we called the business, they said they will replace the burritos or return the money. Good thing we decided not to replace the food as they claim to make their burritos with the least amount of meat and charge the Apple Bees prices. Well. We showed up with the burritos and the manager was rude. Instead of listening to the customer concern, he decided to refund the money and try to shoo us away from the restaurant. Given that we were regulars here, we were hurt to know he was not at all attentive to our complaint and was ready to take the next customer. Guess what you have lost an otherwise a life long customer. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO TACO DEL SOL FOR A DECENT MEXICAN FOOD IF YOU PREFER TO HAVE YOUR MEAL MADE WORTH THE ORICE YOU PAY. Disrespectful. Today, we were craving tacos and it is 4th of July and most all Taco Trucks were closed but this place was open! I was very happy. We got there and ordered a 11 Carne asada tacos for $20! Super cheap! There was about a 15 minute but we didn't mind! When they were ready, we asked for extra sauces and they gave us plenty which I appreciate. They weren't stingy on the sauce at all. The tacos themselves were fresh and sooooo GOOD! They were so bomb. They had plenty of onion, cilantro and meat on them. They also included lime! Taco Del Sol is my go to taco spot! This review is long over due, as I first tried TDS on a whim about a year ago. The prices are fantastic (not to mention that Tuesday's are even cheaper), the quality and selection is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the service is relatively quick. I have introduced TDS to my co-workers, and this sentiment is shared across the board. For what it's worth, I have tried Tacos and More, Sanchez, and Tamale House, all on 99. While they all have positives, none compare to the tacos at TDS. I have not tried the other dishes, however my colleagues have and have not been disappointed. read more

A group of us went for dinner. The dining area appears relatively clean. The bathrooms not so much. This place used to have a great condiment bar now they have nothing they took it away probably due to the covid. If you like the sliced radishes cilantro chopped onion pickled jalapeno peppers and pickled carrots you're out of luck. You have to ask at the counter when you order they will give you some pickled carrots and jalapenos According to the half dozen people I was with they said the refried beans were tasteless and watery. I don't eat refried beans Make sure you get the right change. And please bus your own tables. You can wait for your order at the counter or grab a seat and they will bring it to you at your table. You you desire, you can leave tips in the tip jar on the counter. They have a large selection and combos on the menu.. .. I'd go back and try something different and give them another chance. Wow, the food here has a ton of flavor! Exactly how I like my Mexican food. We got the carne asada and el pastor, tacos, burritos, rice and beans...SO GOOD!! Well seasoned meat, lots of fresh salsa, delicious sides. Guac is out of this world. Everything is fresh, made to order, and so freaking good! I highly recommend almost everything on the menu. This is hands down my go-to Taco Tuesday spot. It's like my Cheers but for tacos! The staff is amazing. They really take pride in getting to know their regulars. And the tacos?? Larger than most street tacos and delicious. I happen to love the Al Pastor, but I've tried them all. I also love their authentic gorditas. I usually get a few tacos and a gordita and I'm full. Despite the dingy appearance on the outside, this restaurant is worth the visit! Portion sizes are pretty great. The pork burrito plate was gigantic and delicious. Now, the burrito in their burrito plate is full of whatever meat you ask them for, and nothing else. This is in contrast to their individual burritos you order, which have rice and seasonings on the inside of the burrito. There is a condiment station where you can load up on things like radishes, lime wedges, etc. The staff are incredibly friendly and approachable. They come to your table with three different sauces and the food comes out later at a reasonable pace. The booths are pretty comfy as well! read more

They're Al Pastor tacos are some of the best I've had. But what's even better than their tacos is their Verde Salsa. I buy 16oz of it nearly every week. If they sold it as a green smoothie I would buy it every day. It has such a great flavor and with just the right amount of spice (though batch to batch can be extra spicy or more mild but still delicious!) I put it on pretty much everything I eat as a healthier replacement to other condiments. read more

I drive past this restaurant every day after work and never stopped in. My friend said to give it a try because he really liked them. I went through the drive through thinking it shouldn't be hard deciding what to get, but I was wrong. They have a pretty big menu. I ordered the fried tilapia meal and the mangoneado. It was moi bueno. Food is made fresh so I had to pull around the front to wait for my fish. It wasn't a bad wait. I'll be stopping by again next time to try something different. read more

Hands down this is the best taco I can ever remember, I'll always remember the sound of Telenovelas, the painted pictures on the windows, the scent of carnitas that I ate with my fingers and the time on the clock when we realized it's so late and this green sauce that we shared together. Out of three this is the One! There are three taco places in a quarter mile triangle on 99w. Sanchez, Del Sol, and Tamale House. I will say that all three have excellent food. However Del Sol rises to the top in several ways. The tacos are by far the best value. They are half the price of their competitors and just as tasty and the since of your standard taco corn tortilla. Can't go wrong with a plate of 4 tacos for under $5. My real mexican friends tell me that the Caldo is all the rage. I'll take their word for it. I tried it myself. Not my thing, but everyone who looks like they are of Latin descent seems to order it. They have beverages, refillable ones too. Try some horchata. Try some jamaica. Try some tamarindo. Mix some of it with the Sierra mist. Love it. They have a very well stocked salsa bar. Veggies and sauces and salsa galore. Don't be shy about piling your taco with some pico or their tasty avocado sauce. One drawback is that some of their pricing is a little odd. $9 for a cheese quesadilla plate just doesn't seem right. Other than that. Taco del Sol is my restaurant of choice. I am super sick. I ordered through Yelp for a pickup order. The Caldo de Res $8.49 was amazing and exactly what my body needed. The pepers & chilis provided (even if temporary) relief & allowed me to breathe. The broth was so good.
