Great Dallas tacos. What Torchys is to Austin, Taco Joint is to Dallas. Their tacos have really fresh ingredients that aren't overly greasy. Their flavor is a bit more Tex than Mex, but is still just as delicious and filling. The store itself is very reminiscent of Dallas' past. Stopped by the taco joint for a quick lunch with the hubby. I ordered the two taco combo and my husband ordered the three taco combo. I asked for a side of guacamole and was charged for a large chips and guacamole at the price of six dollars. I also asked for one hard taco and one soft taco and received two soft tacos. I wasn't in the mood for changing my order so I just kept everything I had. One taco included chicken fajita and the other was ground beef. The tacos were OK I probably wouldn't get the ground beef taco again. The rice and beans were edible. And I have had heartburn all afternoon so not for sure if I will go back maybe for a chicken fajita salad but that would be it. The atmosphere was nice which was a bonus. read more

I love coming here for a hangover breakfast. I normally get the breakfast enchiladas with eggs and bacon inside, but my friends all get the migas plate which is also v good. What I really like about their plates is that they are all served with beans and homestyle potatoes which are just what I didn't know I wanted. Tacos were fair. Queso is delish. Brisket tacos were a little too sweet overall but the avocado it came with did help. My daughter got cheese enchiladas with chili con carne and she said they used way too much chili powder which made them hard to eat because the sauce was overwhelming. It was so much chili powder it was dark red. Chicken fajita taco was ok but nothing special. Condiment station was nice and clean. Menu was extensive do maybe we would like something else besides what we had. Husband said breakfast taco was so-so and it's pretty hard to mess up eggs. There's a couple really nice vegetarian options. The tortilla soup (when ordered without the chicken) is awesome. They have some pretty decent nachos that are great with the black beans instead of the refried. Very nice young lady taking the orders at the front that didn't get annoyed or impatient with my questions or modification of orders. Definitely suggest this place. read more

The large Hispanic lady manager is always angry, not very nice. I asked her for some lettuce for my beef enchilada and she wanted to charge me for lettuce. I was full with 2 when it would normally take 4 breakfast tacos to fill me up. I have only had a chance to try the chorizo, bean, and cheese tacos but they were some of the best I have ever had. Tuesday night before Thanksgiving maybe wasn't the best night to try this Taco Joint but I did and it was bad. The service was great -- there were 5-6 people in the place so maybe they had nothing better to do. They certainly weren't keeping the food warm. The food was awful, cold chicken in a under-stuffed burrito. I sent it back and complained. The manager was cold and snooty, but brought be a spicy fried chicken taco to replace the crappy burrito and she did comp it. The taco, however, sucked also. Hard, cold and over breaded. I ate it because I was starving and out of fight. So they get the bad Yelp. I wouldn't come here again. read more
