Walk in the door to a long line with one hostess trying to do everything while her 6 servers stand around at their server station which is direct shot from the door. They watch her running around like a chicken with her head cut off when they should be contributing to the team. Poor girl makes minimum wage while her serves make double and don't even contribute. Went here for lunch after a long hike. The service was ok. Maybe it was because we were all starving but it seemed like a long wait before the waiter came to take our drink orders. Once we were finally greeted by our server he was prompt and courteous. I ordered the fish tacos which I thought were pretty good for a chain restaurant. The kids menu is what I had a problem with. My seven year old actually turned to me and said that McDonald's had much better burgers because at least they had pickles on them. Sure enough, his burger had nothing on it but some ketchup. When we asked they brought us out a bowl of pickles but I thought that lettuce and tomatoes were pretty standard with a burger. My other son ordered the nachos and that is what really ticked me off. They simply piled a stack of tortilla chips on a plate and melted some cheddar cheese over the top! There was no meat, beans, salsa or anything else. I could have ordered the endless chips and salsa for the entire table for a $1.00 less! I don't think its a restaurant's job to make sure that my child eats a balanced meal but my child would have gotten a healthier meal eating at McDoanld's! I guess next time I eat there I will leave my kids at home and stick with my yummy fish tacos! read more

I've had one experience at this particular Taco Mac. It was about a year ago, so it could be different now. But it was a very busy Friday night. We ordered our food and it didn't come out for over an hour. Then our waitress apologized and admitted she forgot to submit our order. We waited again for our food, and it was mediocre. I probably won't go back unless it's just for drinking because it's always so busy. read more

This was our third and last trip to this place. The time was well into the lunch hour but the place was almost empty. Our first clue to turn around and leave. We ordered queso with tortillas only and it was so cold you could cut the queso with a knife, and the tortillas had ice crystals on them. After sending them back and waiting another 15 minutes they were not much better. Do not waste your time or money here because selling beer is more important than service. We dine at taco mac fairly often as it is near our home and we love their wings but I just have to comment on this. I have been in the service industry on and off for roughly 14 years working at a taco Mac location about 6-7 years back so I am very aware of how restaurants work and the type of service I expect to receive. In the last 4 months we have been in probably 4 times and each occasion service is absolutely TERRIBLE. Today we sat for 7 minutes without being greeted had to ask the host to find our server mins you there were at least e other servers working in that area that saw us sitting unattended for so long. Server was extremely slow and unpleasant. This happens to be our 2nd time being served by this person and the first time was just as bad. I noticed the table next to us rolling their eyes because they received their food before their beers. I would excuse this if the server was busy but if you have 3 tables and you can't keep up you may need to find another line of work. No manager in site or I would have voiced this to them. Overall I'm tired of going there and receiving piss poor service I'll order Togo at least the bartender is pleasant. read more

I usually love Taco Mac but this was the most unorganized, unprofessional environment I've ever been in. We get seated & the server takes way too long to greet us. We get our drinks, tell her our order (my friend orders a small queso with only tortillas)...& then 20 minutes later she comes up to us & says she's been "cut to go on break" so we're going to have a new server??? Management sounds unprofessional.. why would you cut someone while they have tables? So we wait another 15-20 minutes for our food. & when it finally comes out, my friend that ordered the small queso received a large with nothing but chips. Weird bc that's not what she ordered. It took almost 10 minutes to flag our new server over, & we watched him take the wrong queso & give it to the table next to us!!! I'm disgusted. Other than that, our food was basic. Nothing wonderful about it. Service was not very good. AND we watched the manager interrupt a server while she was attempting to take the order of a party of 20+. That told me all I needed to know about how this place is ran. I'll never come back. read more

Nothing can compare to this beer selection! The menu was revamped about a year ago and the options are much better than before. I usually sit at the bar so I don't know many of the servers but Ellarie, Beau, Blake, Andy, Darien, and Jaimie (the bartenders) are amazing! Laura, the bar manager, is pretty fantastic as well! Two of us walked in a little after 3:00 PM today and there was not a single employee anywhere to be found. There were 3-4 customers in bar. After 5 minutes, all the staff came in from the outside reeking of cigarettes. The wings had obviously been sitting around for a while as the skin was so hard you could not eat it. The fries were partially cooked and still looked like freshly peeled, uncooked potatoes. Food and service were awful. This place needs some supervision for their staff. We will not return. read more

Walking into taco Mac we were promptly greeted by a smiling face. Probably the only smiling face we would've seen all night. After being sat in a tidy yet uncomfortable booth we were greeted 15 minutes later by a young woman, Sonja. After receiving our appetizer and drink order she disappeared. Coming back to the table only to hand us our food and promptly scurry us into ordering. 45 minutes later our food came out. I had ordered the black garlic rubbed salmon, my girlfriend had the roasted wings and onion rings, and my good friend had the "kenmore" burger. The wings were "taco Mac great" the burger was up to my friends standards. The salmon was mangled on the side presented towards me and the underside was a crisp char. 20 minutes later our waitress came to check on us. The salmon was sent back promptly and a new order for a burger like my friends was put in. The food came out and my friends had finished eating. The waitress brought the check and we paid. I asked to see a manager, I was informed he was cooking. I said it's fine, don't bother. Won't be returning. Unsatisfactory food, service, and no management present. read more

I went into Taco Mac with my family and we had an amazing time! Our server Giana made our night. She was awesome, she made us feel very welcome and made us want to come back to Taco Mac in Cumming. We also enjoyed Derek who delivered our food, also was very helpful on making sure we were okay. We are not big beer people but Andy found a few that we loved! I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life before today. My wife and I waited 15 - 20 minutes after being seated and in the whole time, no one came to our table. I know it was lunch time but we didn't even get a acknowledgment that "we'll be right there..sorry for the wait" type of response or even get a glass of water at least.When we walked out we told the hostess but she didn't really do anything. Didn't even atttempt to get the manager.I've been to Taco Mac numerous times over the years and was excited when they opended the Cumming restaurant. I'm also a member of the Mug Club. Taco Mac was one of my favorite sports bars when I moved down here. However I will no longer be a customer of this Taco Mac or for that matter any other Taco Macs. read more

80% of the time, I have been very pleased with the food, service, etc. which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. I have experienced less than stellar performances, but on the whole it has been great! They have a really great kid's menu which my son loves. Definitely recommend for kids. The Turkey Que Sandwich is really good too. read more

We have been going to this Taco Mac for years and have loved it. Pretty much an every Friday night thing. However, we went about a month ago and the menu items had changed. Their fiesta chicken nachos were the best and a very popular item. They basically no longer have that - they have nachos but not near the quality it was. Other items on the menu may be called the same thing but are not. They lack the quality and taste that we were use to. Last night we found out that instead of sweetening their sweet tea with sugar they sweeten it with some southern tea sweetener stuff that tastes awful. What's wrong with plain old sugar. The cheese dip that we ordered frequently, had no flavor and was so much smaller. Even the servers know the food is not as good and appear to impathize with the customers. Their claim to fame is having so many beer choices but they even stopped serving beer in cold glasses - small but important to many beer lovers. I also understand they no longer offer beer samples. Sounds crazy but I would rather the prices go up. Why mess with something that is not broken. All in all, its not the Taco Mac we loved. We will only be going if there is no where else to go, and that's not the case in Atlanta. Its always crowded which use to be worth it, but no longer. read more

Have been eating at Cumming location for a while-not outstanding but good enough to go back. On my visit last week we had worst dining experience that I remember in a loooong time. My burger was burned so I let them bring another. When they finally brought it out they didn't bring fries. I guess I was supposed to eat the cold ones that had been sitting for about 15 minutes. It also tasted burned. The manager explained that the grill was so hot that it burned meat where it touched grates of grill. My wife had lemon pepper wings. They were so salty she couldn't eat them. I felt sorry for our poor waitress. This was my last time there. I won't be back. read more

My friend and I went there for lunch today and was waited on by Courtney on the bar side. The service was horrible. My friend has to ask for a straw more than twice. Also the waitress did not ask us for refills on our drink and didn't come back to check on us at all. We ordered the cheese did and there was a HAIR in it!! Absolutely disgusting! We told our waitress and she wasn't apologizing or asking to take it back so we asked for the manager. He came out and said that " it happens hair can come out of the hairnets we are human". Absolutely not okay at all. He said he will take it off the bill, which he did. My friend had a coupon for 6 free wings with a purchase of a soft drink our server said we were ok to use it so she ordered 6 wings. When we were done eating and waiting for our bill the manager came back and snatched the coupon off of the table and said "you cannot use this we no longer offer it". are you kidding me?!?! went on a slow night, got ignored by not 1 but 2 bartenders, always had to flag them down for a new beer. they have an enormous selection- yes, but when i ask the opinion of the bartender about which one of two should i try- i'm looking for more than "whatever floats your boat man" food was gross. worse than "bar food". boneless wings were cold and not even completely covered in wing sauce. when i asked for a small side, they brought me a container big enough to bathe my dog in and then charged me $2 for it. burrito- couldnt even eat it. took one bite and it was nothing but soggy, mushy tortilla, dry chicken, and undercooked black beans. who gives a hoot about a free beer mug- if the service isnt there, and the food isnt there- whats the point of going? read more

So- the service, was fabulous. The management that I experienced? ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. My waitress, a cute brunette with an outgoing personality, handled the fact the kitchen was behind on orders very well. When she sent her manager, who did not even SAY HIS NAME, I almost walked out. I found out from my server that his name was Paul, and he was rude, short, and acted as if my experience did not matter. The restaurant, service, and food that came was fabulous. While the food was good I could see the servers smoking from where I sat on the patio. It was two young gentlemen brown medium length hair thin guys one wearing a Falcons jersey one in the taco mac shirt. It's a very disturbing thing as they did not wash their hands once returning to their tables, one of them serving a table outside by me and my family. I didn't catch their names but I see them both working all the time because we come here often and I would hate to sit with either one. We walked in around 7:15 on a Sunday night. We should have just stopped there and turned around...took 10 minutes just to get the staff to recognize us and then the hostesses moved at a snails pace. We were sat and the waitress told us about a new system where you place a red card up on the table if you need anything and any staff member is supposed to come by to assist. Our waitress came and took our whole order.... 10 or more minutes later we finally got our drinks and then appetizer with no plates or silverware. Our meal came out in decent time but our cups were dry throughout the whole meal. We flipped up the "red card" and watched as at least 5 staff walked right past without checking on us. Don't implement a new system if no one will follow it.... We asked for to go boxes and the check and the waitress literally said "let me write that down because I will forget it"... Kind of saddens me to give this TM only two stars as I'm on their Ph.D level board. Even though I live about 2 miles away haven't been back for some time...kind of miss it. What I love about TM (in general) is the beer selections. They have never let me down except when they advertise something new and then seem to be 'sold out'. This seems to happen more frequently than I remember but neither here nor there...if this was for beer selection alone I'd give a 5 star rating. The two is basically because of food and service which has really declined over time. I would have given a 3 but that was for A-Ok. As to service, I would definitely say if you want to eat do so in the restaurant proper and not at the bar. The service folks at the bar will only place your order with the kitchen and then its up to someone else to bring your food. Twice on a Friday night I never even got my food order and basically drank my dinner as time slid by. I mentioned to the manager on my way out who offered to make it right but on a Friday night after a long week that wasn't my point and I respectfully declined. I will say when sitting in the restaurant proper the service is usually really good. Now as to the food. It had really always been pretty good and I will say when the kitchen gets the order right it's really very good. The unfortunate thing is they frequently don't get the order right, something has to be returned or re-done, something is cold and then you have people eating and people waiting. One thing I'd noticed is that while the managers are usually pretty friendly and available however they do change a lot. Could this be why the inconsistencies? Maybe the same is in the kitchen....who knows. I have tried the new wing selection which is pretty good. And so to close...I still go to TM on occasion but nowhere near as frequently as I used to. read more
