They refuse orders during their business hours. They close at ten and wouldn't make an order I placed thirty minutes before hand. I get it's a pain but if you don't want people ordering then close your restaurant. Won't be back. read more

Idk why I bother with this place. When they very first opened they were great, but whomever was running the place ended up leaving. The people who took over have very poor customer service and very poor quality. It's like they're super stingy or something I don't get it. I've tried to give them multiple second chances, but I just gave them my last one. About 6 months ago I ordered nachos that arrived with zero cheese on them. Today I decided to give them another chance. This time I had about 1 tablespoon of cheese. Now if you don't know their quest is suuuupppper thin (very different to how it was when they first opened), it's clear they thin it out a ton to save money. Well that 1 tablespoon of cheese was lightly drizzled around the very edge, probably to make it look like there was queso on them when there really wasn't. Also several of the toppings they used to put them weren't on there? So idk of that changed but it was just meat, a tiny bit of refried beans, and a ridiculous amount of jalapeños. I also ordered the elotes and I was hands down the worst I've ever had. It was mostly water?????? So like corn with water???? So confusing and so gross. I didn't even eat it. Anyways I'm done with these jokers and their greedy ways. Avoid and go somewhere else. read more

It's my first time here & I think their tacos taste great! I ordered Mahi-mahi, shrimp & lengua tacos. They all tasted authentic mexican. Not sure what happened to this place. Service is just terrible. Must be new management or something because the place is a mess both in appearance and how it's run. Food quality has gone down too. Meats are not juicy and the chips are just not tasty. They have a open salsa bar with no salsa cups. When inquiring where the cups are, was told they don't provide them anymore. What? They provide a buzzer to notify you when food is ready. 20 mins go by so I walk up to ask about ETA on food. The guy looks at me like I'm an idiot and then glances down at a trayful of food sitting on the counter which I was to assume was mine based on his eye movements. I tell him the buzzer didn't buzz and I get a simple "oh" and be proceeds to his next task at hand - which definitely was not to clean up the place, talk to customers, refill the near empty trays of salsa, provide salsa cups or notify customers that their food is ready by utilizing the aforementioned buzzer technology they have apparently deployed but are not capable of using. There are other Taco Madres around - just eat at those locations until these guys go back to their roots of quality food and good service. read more

I went here to grab some lunch. I had no place in mind, but I happened to stumble upon this restaurant. I have been here before and quite a lot of times already, so I am familiar with the restaurant. It is an authentic Mexican restaurant, and their food is really delicious. The restaurant is quite busy, but nonetheless, the staff are still polite and extremely friendly. Based on their menu, if I was a first-time customer, I could tell that it really is an authentic Mexican restaurant because on their menu they have a large and different selection of Mexican food, like everything is really available. One of the good things aside from their menu is definitely their prices. Their prices are fair and reasonable, which is why I consider it one of the best spots when it comes to Mexican food. Their food is not only delicious but also well-priced. No kidding, their foods really do taste great. If I were to recommend a Mexican restaurant here in Naperville, then it is going to be this restaurant without thinking twice. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Service has gone downhill. Last time I'll eat here. The manager wasn't in and you could tell. Every table was dirty. I watched the phone ring and the young girl at counter kept hanging up on the patron calling in an order. I also don't think having to go up and serve yourself salsa is hygienic. You used to be able to use a cup and bring it back to your table. I watched people go up several times with their food half eaten, reserving salsa. Gross. read more

This was a complete miss for me. I ordered lunch for myself and coworkers and needless to say my torta de Milanesa is not beef. It's chicken. Not what I asked for. Also it's so over cooked it's inedible. I can't chew or bite through it so I had to take the "breaded meat" out and I end up with a meatless torta. I get the price inflation. I will gladly pay the price point they set however how does any employee at this location feel it is ok letting this torta end up in a customers hands and pay for it. Great food and great quality, but service could be better. Ordering carry out and seeing that your food is ready and sitting on the counter for ten minutes, and then having to ask an employee if that's my food and then having to wait for him to go clean up tables and deliver food to dine in guests, and then come back and bag the food that again had been waiting to be bagged for this whole time is very frustrating. read more

Came in with low expectations due to typical Naperville chain restaurant fare, but left absolutely loving this place! Very fresh tasting and the refried beans were some of the best I've ever had. They have a little salsa bar where you can choose which salsa to add. As a vegetarian it's hard to find places to eat out at, but Taco Madre definitely does not disappoint. One of my favorite places in Chicago! There are very few restaurants I'll go to more than once and this is one of them! Great for vegetarian. If you love paneer and Mexican food this place is for you. I have tried paneer tacos, paneer burritos and paneer quesadillas. Thus far paneer tacos are my favorite, my toddler likes their elotes and guacamole. I didn't like their veggie enchiladas. read more

Steak and Carnitas tacos are really good! I've ordered through Grubhub and Foodsby. Had a steak torta today and it was a little dry but still good. The only thing I don't like is that they don't give you the little cups of the red and green hot/mild sauces.
