They need to cross train employees to do all rather than waiting for the one person to take orders. Was not busy. Drive through a couple cars. Inside is nice but needs a little tlc. Everytime I've been to this taco time they mess up my order. Today they forgot to give me a utensil, the side of chips I ordered, and the side of ranch I ordered. There was no cashier upfront but I was told it would be a few minutes. So I decided to just place an online order from the app. I don't go to eat Taco Time very often. I ordered a Chicken crispy taco, Medium Extra Crispy Mexi-fries. The guy who handed me my bag was Super Friendly and I sat down to eat. Most of their orders were Drive Thrus and from Online pick up. Food (5/5): every time I visit WA, Taco Time is a must! I love how ingredients are fresh and local, and the portion sizes translate well with the pricing. They recently added spicy tater tots, which weren't spicy, but had good flavoring, reminding me of Old Bay seasoning. The nachos are always great too, with plenty of toppings and many additional complimentary adds on if you ask the server, such as corn, beans, salsa, etc Service (5/5): they used to have self serve kiosks inside this Fairwood location, but it looks like they've since been removed. Regardless, our servers have always been nice and make sure the restaurant is clean and tidy too. Ambiance (5/5): I really enjoy reading the plaques about the history of Taco Time and its connection to the PNW. It's a very cozy restaurant with its somewhat dimmer lighting, and Fairwood Square is a great place to walk around with plenty of other great restaurants too. The only thing I would like to suggest is that they be more mindful when it comes to takeout. I ordered two taco salads, and did not receive any forks in my bag. Consistently a go-to neighborhood quick meal. Keep in mind, they make everything to order, so it's not Taco Bell fast, but it's pretty darn fast. They have great menu options: casita burrito, tacos, soft tacos, taco salad. They also do a good job of healthy alternatives. Of course, they also have mexi-fries (tator tots) - THE BEST - so stay away from those if you're on a health kick. The kids menu does chicken nuggets that are chicken breast meat, far better than other fast food options. I can't forget the crustos - cinnamon/sugar tortilla chips- for dessert. It's been so long since I've had Taco Time. As a kid, I lived in the NW area but since moved to California... in which there is no Taco Time!!! Arggg!!! On a recent visit to Washington we decided to stop in and relive some delicious food memories as a kid. I was not disappointed. Taco Time's main food items to try are their famous crispy burritos, taco salad, and mexi fries (which are really just tater tots... but ohh so good!). The crispy burrito is like a flauta with a nice delicate crispy shell. Kind of like you'd find on a taco salad. It's crunch but not hard. You can get it filled with beans, beef, or chicken. I've always had the ground beef so that's what I went for. It was amazing, but a little heavy. One of these goes a long way! I didn't have enough room for a taco salad this time around, but I did get a delicious hard shell taco and their mexi fries. The taco was great. I loved that they put a slice of tomato on the top of it. It also featured a really nice amount of cheese. No skimping here! I'm not sure why they call tater tots mexi fries. If you were a kid and only ever had Taco Time, I'd think you would think that tater tots were called fries in Mexico. Cuz they're not!!! But this item is great nonetheless. Maybe a name change to mexi-tots would be good. Something that I thought was really great was that the company seems to really believe in composting and keeping the earth green. It's a noble cause and am glad a chain like this encourages that. Taco Time is so great! I am a big fan of taco time. I usually come here if I'm in the mood for Mexican, but something in between Taco Bell and a sit down restaurant. I go through drive thru and it seems like the wait is always long no matter what time you go. The food is fresh, I've never had wilted lettuce or subpar ingredients from taco time. I think the long wait is due to how the food is made, it tastes fresh unlike some other fast food places. Almost $25 for 2 meals. They conveniently forgot one of the chicken tacos, so we had to drive around and go into the store to get it. The "French fries," which are tater tots weren't hot. The Fairwood Taco Time was recently remodeled and it is lovely. The dining room is open and cheery with an indoor/ outdoor fireplace. Ordering is more efficient since the menu is posted in the area before the ordering counter. The kitchen has also been opened up and it looks well organized and efficient. As for the food, I always enjoy Taco Time. The food quality is consistent from one visit to the next. Workers are well trained and for the most part do a great job. It is our "go to" place for a fast food Mexican meal. read more

I've only lived in WA for a year or so and had no idea what taco time was until then. I wasn't sure about it when I first went there. I was really confused. They call burritos tacos, and taquitos are called crisp burritos and their tacos are called bajas??? Oh and "Mexi-fries" are not fries. Even as I type this I'm not sure I got it right. I think half of the reason the wait is so long is because the employees are trying to figure out what people want. My coworker would pick up lunch and I would ask her to get me a fish taco. She would come back with something different every time! But who cares, it's amazing. My boyfriend loves their "crispy burritos" and I love -what I now know are fish bajas and "mexifries". And I keep coming back and putting up with the wait and the young employees gossiping in the drivethru for my ten minute wait and forgetting my tots because... it's good. And for all the people comparing it to taco-bell. Stop. It's not taco-bell and it's not trying to be taco-bell. If you go to Wendy's expecting a big mac, you're going to be disappointed. This place just got remodeled and it looks amazing for a fast food joint! However, service is so slow. The lines are long and once I placed my order it took about 15-17 minutes to get my food. Going there with little ones might be challenging if the wait for food is long. I suggest to bring snacks in case little ones get fussy. Also, please hire more people! read more

Do not go through the drive thru! Staff are standing around and one person is making food. They don't monitor their soda machine because on top of giving me the wrong soda, it was watered down. Good food if you like tacos! Service was a little slow and they messed up my order, but they corrected it without issue. It's on a busy corner and can get quite busy at times, which may account for the slowness. It had been years since I've had Taco Time up until recently. I've stopped by twice now, once going inside and the other time through drive thru. The parking lot is small and awkward, pay attention to where you are going. The drive thru is super narrow - watch the curbs. Inside is pretty big, lots of booths and tables. Clean. Visit #1 - Dine in: The guy behind the register was nice and friendly. Respected that I needed a few minutes to decide, like I said, it's been a long time since I've been by. I ordered a Chicken Soft Taco with easy ranch, and a Medium Tater Tots. I placed my order to go. You are given a number and the employees run the food out to you. Mine came out for a "for here" order, so I had to ask for a bag and stuff to go - no big deal, they were super quick about it. Food was okay, though the taco was swimming in ranch :( Yummy tater tots, but a medium is too much for one person. Visit #2 - Drive thru: So slow. Only 2 cars in front of me and it took forever. I ordered almost the same thing as last time, just no ranch this time (didn't want another soggy taco), and a small tater tots. Waited. And waited. And waited.5 minutes after ordering it was finally my turn to pay. Waited some more. Finally got my food. No thank yous, no asking if I needed any sauces or anything. Oh well, good thing I didn't. Have a nice day? Taco was much better not drenched in sauce, and a small tater tot was unfortunately unsatisfying as I literally got 6 tater tots. Meh. Line was super long when I left too. To the people complaing about price and then comparing it to the mexican restaurant up the street...lol Taco Time's whole deal is they are the anti Taco Bell, anti McDonalds type place. Is it true Mexican food? Not really, but the ingredients are fresh and local, which means less preservatives. They make their salsa every day, more money because it's more labor. Personally I don't want a drop in quality for garbage "value" meals packed with junk. You ever smelled the apples in the kids meal at McDs? Smells horrible. Is your emphasis on saving money at the expense of filling your kids with even more chemicals than they already come in contact with on a daily basis, go to Taco Bell. Personally, I will pay extra for the food for a little more piece of mind. Also, this is one of the only fast food joints with much of anything on the menu. I walked into this taco time for the first time. I look into the staff kitchen, and I noticed this tangerine standing in the middle of the kitchen. I don't know if she was the manager or something cause she stood out to me. Her pants were not covering her behind and her shirt was lifted exposing her lower back tattoo, also her hair was curled and this lady did not have any hair net on. I was like . I tried to ignore that but it made me grossed out a lil.
