Tacomasa is super super conveniently located right between both downtown Brea parking structures- I didn't even know they existed and have breakfast burritos as well as vegetarian options! The tortilla is one of those giant fat-arse rounds able to hold a real two handed burrito. It's substantial and made with real eggs! Not from carton precracked eggs and I know this because I ate several pieces of eggshells. From those shells I know they used white shelled eggs and not brown shelled. Other than that no real complaints. It's a decent price for a meatless burrito that I couldn't finish in one sitting without going into a food coma.
Honestly this was a somewhat disappointing experience for my hubby & I. I can see this being an attractive location for those that don't care for well seasoned food, it's in Brea so that checks out. As for this Chicana that loves her food well seasoned I found this place lacking. I got 1 asada taco & 1 mulita with adobada (pork meat) & hubby got 1 asada taco & 1 tripa taco. We both were disappointed with the lack of flavor in the meats. We also got an elote and it was more cobb than corn because the corn we ordered had very thin kernels. For the price of $5 a taco, $6 for mulita, & $7 for the corn it was disappointing overall. I gave a two star instead of 1 though because the one thing I truly enjoyed was their guayaba limon agua & the service was good & the location was clean. To mi gente out there that like well marinated, seasoned meat skip on this place, but for you that like light to no seasoned meat this is your gem.
we ordered an asada vampiro, asada fries, 2 tacos and chips with chicken. plus a sandia agua and a jamaica! everything was pretty good- fries were a little salty but not too bad. chips were okay, chicken was tasty. asada vampiro was pretty average. but the tacos were the star of the show!! nice place, not too busy when we came and we were served quickly! will be back to try some more items on the menu!
We were around the area and decided to stop by here for lunch. It's a small taco shop, but plenty of patio seating. I got to try 2 carne asada tacos, and my bf got a quesadilla a lengua taco. It didn't take too long to receive our order, so service was pretty efficient. The tacos are on the more "pricier" side compared to street tacos, maybe because these are considered more gourmet or so? Although, I wouldn't really say it's not as premium. The guac that they had with the taco was pretty nice. The carne asada cuts on the taco were thicker than usual, has a smoky flavor to it which was pretty nice. Tacos were pretty standard. I tried my bf's quesadilla and it honestly tasted more like a cheese taco than a quesadilla. The proportions don't seem to be quite right for a quesadilla since there was more meat and less cheese. Overall, it was not bad. Personally, I feel like Tacomasa gives me more Americanized taco vibes. I don't really feel the authenticity here, but it's pretty decent. Nothing too special.
I had a strange craving for tacos today and was feeling adventurous. After some quick research, the fam decided on Tacomasa in Brea. I got 2 asada tacos and everything had amazing quality and came with cilantro, guacamole, onions - everything you would get on your taco. I got the pineapple drink and it was amazing. We also got the elote, a corn on the cob with cheese and sauce on it - very good. The service was nice and the ambiance was very pleasing. Tacomasa is one of the great taco places around Brea, and my parents and I are hoping to come again.
I've visited Taco Masa along with two other locations, and to be honest, this one was the best of the three. The staff were incredibly friendly especially the cashier who took my order. She walked me through the menu with such patience, and even though I was there around 9 p.m. on a Saturday, it wasn't overly crowded, just a steady stream of customers. I had tacos and corn on the cob (Elote) , and both were fresh and full of flavor. But the real highlight was the agua Fresca. It's $3.50 with free refills! I tried the watermelon, cucumber and lemon which was definitely my favorite. I wasn't a fan of the guava. The staff were also on top of cleaning tables often, and while the restroom was overall clean, it did need some serious flooring work. just a hardware issue, not the staff. The location is on a busier street in downtown Brea, so parking is a bit tricky. Be careful as some spots have a 20-minute limit, but if you drive just a bit further, you can find longer parking. Prices were decent, tho not cheap, but fair, especially for the quality. All in all, the standout was definitely the staff, so hardworking and attentive. I'll be coming back for sure!
Stopped by this place for lunch and ordered the deluxe trio asada tacos, and I was really impressed. It looks like they opened not too long ago, so this is a newer taco spot. The staff was extremely friendly from the moment we walked in, and the restaurant itself was very clean. What I really appreciated was that the staff allowed us to sample the different meats before ordering, which made it easier to decide since they offer several options. I ended up going with the classic asada and ordered the deluxe trio option. The portion size was huge compared to the traditional tacos. I was honestly full after about one and a half tacos, so if you're not a big eater, two tacos will definitely be enough. For most guys, I think the deluxe trio is the perfect amount. The meat was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. They also provide a sauce of your choice, and you can request a side of jalapeños, which I absolutely loved. Another thing I liked was that the cooking area is behind a glass wall, so you can watch the chefs cook live. I thought that was very transparent and reassuring. The staff was constantly cleaning and maintaining the area, which really stood out to me because a clean environment is so important when you're eating out. I really hope the quality and overall experience stay consistent. Sometimes restaurants are great when they first open, but quality can drop over time. That said, I absolutely loved this taco place and would definitely return. Amazing quality, generous portions, and very friendly staff. Love this place.
Really good experience. Their place has a simple menu, and I appreciate how hard they try to present the hole in the wall type of atmosphere in an area like Brea. The service is solid and they walked the singular asada taco up to my table, which was nice. The taco itself was so good. For around $5 I got a pretty hefty taco with a ton of meat. Had a good mix of flavors. I'd definitely come back for a larger order.

This place has become my son and my favorite place to eat on the weekends. In his words, " I can't believe we have such authentic Mexican food in downtown Brea". I LOVE LOVE LOVE agua frescas-and they have plenty to try! WATERMELON The quesadillas, burritos, and tortas have all been amazing...and the employees are all really sweet. read more

I called this location to place a phone order as I was driving there so I didn't have to wait so long for my phone. A female answered and politely asked if I can be placed on hold while she helps others so I said okay. I continued to drive there and arrived before she came back on the phone. The restaurant had about 6 customers in it all seated and no one in line. I went in line and ordered my phone as I continued to hold just to see how long it would take for her to come back on. I took a screen shot at 10 minutes but she didn't come back on until the 12th minute. I understand if they're busy, but they weren't so I don't understand! I know they would prefer it if I order online because they charge more for some reason! I'm on to your tricks tacosmasa!!!! You're not the only taco spot in town!!!! read more
Amazing!! Shared a pork burrito with my husband and requested plain chips (which you can order for $3.25). Service is good, food amazing, price okay. It seems like they're constantly cleaning too, which is fantastic. They have six aguas frescas that you can choose from besides the fountain drinks. It's a lovely spot, definitely worth checking out! read more

Newly opened in Downtown Brea! Came for lunch a week after opening on a Friday afternoon and there was surprised to see a crowd. Waited about ~15 minutes in line to order and ~15 minutes for the food. Initially wanted to eat there but all indoor seating was occupied and it was a hot day outside so we did takeout. Tried the Lengua Taco ($4.95), Asada Burrito ($12.95), Pastor Fries ($14.95), and Vanilla+Chocolate Swirl Nieves ($6). The asada meat was interestingly a bit Smokey and different than the average you'd get elsewhere - not sure if I'm a fan or not. I enjoyed the lengua (tongue) though as it was extremely tender and delicious - a must try! Fry texture was great as it held its crunch. Overall, a decent spot for lunch but nothing I would rave about. Prices are a bit steep for the taco but priced fairly for the burrito. Various structures available close by to park for free! read more

Welcome to Brea, Tacomasa! It's the newest TJ style taco spot on the block. We arrived a little before 11 AM and there were plenty of people eating inside with a line forming as well. It seemed like many people were waiting a good amount of time for their food but since they were still in the soft opening phase, that's completely okay. Here's what we ordered: **Asada & Adobada Tacos: Asada was bland and the adobada was beyond salty. **Deluxe Trio: Asada, Adobada, & Nopal Quesatacos: The asada was bland. The adobada was beyond salty. The nopal was flavorless and extremely slimy. I expected the nopal to be fully cooked and slightly charred but it was extremely slimy even after cooking it. **Tripa Mulita: The tripa had no flavor. The cheese in the mulita was very light with flavor as well. $7 for a plain quesadilla is a scam. The fact that they gave two of the smallest slices of radish and one lime wedge per plate is ridiculous. I saw that most people were getting three containers of salsa per plate for people dining in. When they called my name, I had asked if they added salsas and they said yes, only to find out they only put in two little sides of salsa for three plates of food. There was a red and slightly green chunky salsa and both were flavorless. The salsas had no spice at all either so that was disappointing. Also, my drive home was less than 5 minutes and every single taco was not warm at all. While in line, the girl working the register gave one woman a stamp card for being a first time customer but didn't ask/offer for the person in front of me and myself. Quite expensive for small portions and bland meats. They need a salsa bar for self-service. They need better tasting salsas and please add more radish per plate. There are so many people working in the kitchen area but they were still behind on orders. I hope they also add room for more than one counter because the line was uneccessarily long. I understand that this is a new business here in the city of Brea but they lack quality and their portion vs price control is no bueno. Hopefully Tacomasa does well because every business at this exact location seems to go out of business every few years like Roll Em Up Taquitos did. Would I go back to this business in the near future? Nope, it was a one and done for me. I do not recommend this spot for your local TJ style tacos. I very much prefer Tacos Don Goyo down the street. read more
Tacomasa Taqueria is the newest addition to Birch St. in Downtown Brea, taking over a space that's seen a quite a few Mexican restaurants come and go. I first noticed it while walking around, and the line stretched outside the door all evening. Eventually, I gave in and stopped by for some tacos. The space itself is clean and welcoming, with a good balance of indoor and outdoor seating. The wait was a bit long for the food but staff were very kind. The taco I ordered was outstanding, the meat was incredibly tender with a generous serving of guacamole. The corn tortilla felt fresh and thick, perfectly completing the taco. Overall, I left already planning my next visit! read more
One of the best tacos in the area. I tried the asada taco and the meat was amazing. It was juicy and had a smokey taste to it. They also put a good amount of guac on there. The only downside is that its on the pricier side. But definitely try this place out if you like tacos read more

Tacomasa in Brea - First Day Visit I showed up to Tacomasa's grand opening in Brea and yes, the line was LONG but worth every minute. Bonus: it's right in The Shoppes and literally across from the free parking structure, so no excuses. Cashier shoutout: Johnathan. Super helpful, patient, and even switched gears when I hit him with some Spanish at the register. (Because let's be real--ordering tacos in Spanish just hits different. Feels more legit. ) Now let's talk tacos: Carne Asada Taco - grilled to absolute perfection, topped with a mountain of guacamole sauce. Generous is an understatement. Quesitaco (Adobada) - hands down my favorite. Pork + melted cheese = life. The flavor was bold, smoky, and kind of made me question every other taco I've had recently. Chicken Taco - solid, but if I'm being honest, I'd stick with the Asada or Adobada next round. Did I stop there? Of course not. Their aguas frescas? I went with the plátano (banana) and sheeeeshhhhh--straight-up perfection in a cup. Creamy, refreshing, and dangerously addicting. Minor note: I wish their salsa had more of a kick, but the flavor was still on point. And the homemade tortillas (hechas a mano)? GAME CHANGER. Tacos just hit different when the tortilla has that fresh, soft-but-toasty vibe. I also do wish that "Mulitas" were more toasted. Didn't get to the tripa or lengua this time, but trust me--I'll be back to work my way through the menu. If you're looking for a genuine taco experience in Brea, this is the spot. read more
This place is fantastic! Delicious food, good quality and friendly service. I have read reviews complaining about the price. I don't see why they are comparing these prices with street service! The adobada was so greasy and succulent in the most delicious way that I could not get enough. I ordered the deluxe trio tacos with adobada, lengua, and asada and while they were all good, the adobada was easily my favorite. I recommend getting every order "con todo", no matter which item you get. If you don't care for cheese, then you can get the regular tacos and they offer a combo with it too. The service is pretty quick and they bring your order out to you. There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and I love how they're connected because you can enjoy the beautiful downtown views. I also enjoyed how you could watch them freshly make your food through the windows. read more

The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. It's very clean and we had an amazing cashier named Ivan. He was extremely helpful. He gave me a sample of cactus when I've never had it in my life. Honestly I'm a big fan of cactus now. I think this place should get a lot more traction especially in Brea downtown. It's delicious, it's new, and the drinks here are amazing! I definitely recommend the watermelon juice and horchata! Highly recommend!! read more

Delicious TJ style tacos and aguas frescas in north OC area. Staff were all welcoming and answered our questions about different sizing available. The restaurant has plenty of open area seating that faces the street/downtown area. This is our third time coming here; being close to home, it makes an easy stop for weeknight dinner. read more

TacoMasa understood the assignment The tacos were packed with flavor and seasoned so well--every bite hit. The adobada is the star of the show! Best taco meat I've had hands down! The salsa adds even more flavor without overpowering anything (as it should), and the rice and beans were just as good, not an afterthought. Simple, satisfying, and definitely a spot I'd come back to. Also the service didn't disappoint. They work efficiently to get your order. The cashier was very helpful to make such a difficult choice in which meat to get. Barstool seating but also have an outside waiting area. Bring a sweater because the inside was quite chilly Definitely will be coming back! read more

Came in Tuesday around 130 PM for a quick to-go lunch. Ordered a Asada Burrito with cheese after sampling some of the available proteins recommended by the staff. Waited roughly 10 mins inside the restaurant and was impressed by how clean and well maintained the place is. For the burrito: 1. I loved the taste of the asada (tasted like nice chucks of ribeye) paired with the green salsa that they included. 2. Burrito was overall a decent size but for almost $17 I expected more. 3. Wish they also packed some more salsas to go! Will definitely comeback to try some of the other options! read more

The food here is amazing. The employees are friendly and informative. They give you samples of the meats if you want to try it. I ended up getting a large horchata (you get endless refills), a regular asada taco, and the deluxe trio quesatacos (2 asada, 1 nopal). Everything was so tasty. I see a lot of taco places making more premium meat tacos... and this is one of them. This was freshly cut steak that was soft and flavorful. They put guac on all of tacos. The salsas were amazing. The was a lot of outdoor seating with the heat lamps as well as inside seating. I will becoming back to try out the other selections on the menu. read more

It was an impromptu lunch to try a new taco place in Brea and I'm glad we stumbled upon this place. It didn't disappoint and it is way better than expected. As soon as we walked in, we were asked if this was our first time and asked if we wanted to have samples. Right there, I know it's gonna be good. Got the taco, chips and quesadillas and everything was amazing. The protein is massive with bursting flavor and they don't skimp on the pork and steak on everything that we ordered. Their salsa is addicting and the place is definitely very very clean. I can tell the quality of the pork and beef are high quality. Definitely one of the best taco places I've ever been to. read more

The elote was authentic. On top of that, the service is outstanding--friendly, attentive, and efficient. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good Taco spot in Brea!! Still Taco Los Cholos is my go to but this is a quick fix. read more
