I had always wanted to try the one by Cal State LB, so when this opened by my place in North OC I was eager to try it. The food here is really good. I tried both the adobada and the asada and they were good. The open air patio was also nice. The bathroom even was nice. You could smell the charred smokey smell of the kitchen in the bathroom which was wild. The only thing I would ding them on is the value. I could probably find a couple mom and pop places locally that might hook it up for a little cheaper but rent is high in Brea so I get it. Would maybe be nice to have offered a side of chips and salsa or some papas for a couple bucks more to fill me up for what I was paying. I am cheap tho, so that is why I am still rating it 5 out of 5. read more

My first visit was a few days after they opened - their hours weren't fully updated on Yelp, so I was peeved that it was closed upon my arrival. Totally fine, this did not affect the rating of this review. When I next visited, they were open and at dinner time hour, the line was out the door. Given we don't live too far, I was planning to come back another day. One of the workers assured me the line moves very quickly since there were only a few parties ahead. Spoiler: the line did not move fast, but I had committed already so I stuck around to wait. The wait was 30+ mins, and part of the reason for the wait was a number of employees that was handling the register were still in training. Get that its a new business, but given the demand, wish they were a bit more prepared. Truthfully, this took away from the seamless experience. I ordered three tacos, their agua fresca drinks (unlimited fountain refills) and an elote. Surprised that their elote was like $6.99. The drinks was definitely catered to people with a high sweet/sugar tolerance - all very sweet, even with the addition of ice to water it down. The price point for what we got was probably not the best way to spend our money. Other than those pain points, the tacos were really tasty, the flavor was there and the adobada was good. Plenty of seats outside, but given the volume of people - we opted to sit further away a few businesses down. read more

This is a nice little Mexican casual in the Downtown Brea shopping district. Our counter service was fast and friendly. Our breakfast burritos were outstanding. But Tacomasa doesn't serve coffee! Super helpful, patient, and even switched gears when I hit him with some Spanish at the register. (Because let's be real--ordering tacos in Spanish just hits different. Feels more legit. ) Now let's talk tacos: Carne Asada Taco - grilled to absolute perfection, topped with a mountain of guacamole sauce. Generous is an understatement. Quesitaco (Adobada) - hands down my favorite. Pork + melted cheese = life. The flavor was bold, smoky, and kind of made me question every other taco I've had recently. Chicken Taco - solid, but if I'm being honest, I'd stick with the Asada or Adobada next round. Did I stop there? Of course not. Their aguas frescas? I went with the plátano (banana) and sheeeeshhhhh--straight-up perfection in a cup. Creamy, refreshing, and dangerously addicting. Minor note: I wish their salsa had more of a kick, but the flavor was still on point. And the homemade tortillas (hechas a mano)? GAME CHANGER. Tacos just hit different when the tortilla has that fresh, soft-but-toasty vibe. I also do wish that "Mulitas" were more toasted. First time trying this place! Ivan was awesome in taking our order so shout to him. The Horchata is to die for. It is a little loud in here with the music but I don't mind it. You can always find a spot outside. You can see them cooking and preparing each dish. The best part is they also make tortillas for certain dishes. You can also special request they handmade them. My taco and mulita de asada were bomb!! I don't have to drive to LA for authentic tacos anymore. The food is fantastic and a great addition to North OC. read more

The adobada was so greasy and succulent in the most delicious way that I could not get enough. I ordered the deluxe trio tacos with adobada, lengua, and asada and while they were all good, the adobada was easily my favorite. I recommend getting every order "con todo", no matter which item you get. If you don't care for cheese, then you can get the regular tacos and they offer a combo with it too. The service is pretty quick and they bring your order out to you. There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and I love how they're connected because you can enjoy the beautiful downtown views. My wife says this is her new go-to Mexican spot in north OC / brea Fullerton area. It's definitely good! Closest thing we have to Taco Stand is what she'd say. Servers are friendly. Mobile order process is straight forward too. I'm definitely going to come back for another burrito sometime. I liked the burrito more than the quesadilla I think. But both got the job done. Maybe a cheese quesadilla would be solid too, the one with meat felt like it had too much stuffed in it; didn't feel as much like a quesadilla. But still tasted good I'm just being nitpicky! I called this location to place a phone order as I was driving there so I didn't have to wait so long for my phone. A female answered and politely asked if I can be placed on hold while she helps others so I said okay. I continued to drive there and arrived before she came back on the phone. The restaurant had about 6 customers in it all seated and no one in line. I went in line and ordered my phone as I continued to hold just to see how long it would take for her to come back on. I took a screen shot at 10 minutes but she didn't come back on until the 12th minute. I understand if they're busy, but they weren't so I don't understand! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. It's very clean and we had an amazing cashier named Ivan. He was extremely helpful. He gave me a sample of cactus when I've never had it in my life. Honestly I'm a big fan of cactus now. I think this place should get a lot more traction especially in Brea downtown. Came in Tuesday around 130 PM for a quick to-go lunch. Ordered a Asada Burrito with cheese after sampling some of the available proteins recommended by the staff. Waited roughly 10 mins inside the restaurant and was impressed by how clean and well maintained the place is. For the burrito: 1. I loved the taste of the asada (tasted like nice chucks of ribeye) paired with the green salsa that they included. 2. Burrito was overall a decent size but for almost $17 I expected more. 3. I ended up getting a large horchata (you get endless refills), a regular asada taco, and the deluxe trio quesatacos (2 asada, 1 nopal). Everything was so tasty. I see a lot of taco places making more premium meat tacos... and this is one of them. This was freshly cut steak that was soft and flavorful. They put guac on all of tacos. The salsas were amazing. It was an impromptu lunch to try a new taco place in Brea and I'm glad we stumbled upon this place. It didn't disappoint and it is way better than expected. As soon as we walked in, we were asked if this was our first time and asked if we wanted to have samples. Right there, I know it's gonna be good. Got the taco, chips and quesadillas and everything was amazing. The protein is massive with bursting flavor and they don't skimp on the pork and steak on everything that we ordered. I was walking my dogs and saw a sign outside saying they served breakfast burritos, so I stopped in and ordered an asada breakfast burrito. They also have bacon which I would've usually gotten but was in the mood for more meat and that's what I got! The asada had good flavor and was meaty, not fatty. The burrito also had eggs and cheese and it came with a roasted salsa and/or red salsa. I enjoyed that the burrito, it did not have a bunch of filler in it like potatoes, beans or rice.
