I just learned today that BT2 just opened in Castro Valley which is my home base. I saw two reviews which were 5 star ones 16 days ago. I am excited to try their new location and meet the staff. Their location is not visible From the main streets so you have to know it's there or happen to pass through the shopping parking lot. If I would have known I would have been present opening day. Just a suggestion maybe put a sign up at your original location about BT2. I can't wait to try it.

However, as a Mexican who knows my beans, the refried beans were a major disappointment. They tasted like they came straight from a can and had a strange oil flavor that just didn't sit right. Pro Tip: Ask for extra lime and cilantro. They tend to go heavy on the onions but light on the greens. The chips were crunchy. The california burrito was good, though a little thin on the fillings overall. The carne ranchera was tender and also came with onions and jalapenos. The portions were generous, the food came out fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants over the years, and Taqueria Los Pericos stands out as something special.
