My wife and I use to frequent this place YEARS ago, the service was good and the food was good, years later we decided to go back & mannn the food quality & service has went down terribly! Pulled up on a Friday late night with my family ordered the standard 5 tacos. They are a bit pricey as well. I ordered the carne Asada and my mother in law ordered the chicken. While it did seem like it tasted good it was super greasy. (TMI coming up) When I woke up the next morning my I noticed my bowels were literally moving the next day, (I counted about 9 times). I felt bloated and everything. My wife even told me that as we were pulling off she witnessed the cook I believe his name is Julio eating some of the product while he was preparing peoples food (the side door of the food truck was open so you could see right in). Funny enough we decided to go back Saturday evening to give them another try, thinking it would be better, BOY was we wrong. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. read more

Food is always on point with flavor, and aesthetics. The customer service is fast and easy, you probably wait the most 10 minutes before getting your food. The staff is friendly and patient when taking orders. They also have in my opinion, top 10 Fresa con Crema for dessert. Would highly recommend to family, friends and neighbors. read more

This place is across from a competitor and one of our favorite places. After seeing a giant line out front of the truck we had to check it out. While the flavor is there and the vibes check out, the portions were not. I can go to the competitor and get better value. I do love to support the small guys and will try a different dish next time. read more

This place was really intriguing to us to try because you have to be a pretty ballsy business owner to park across from one of the best taco places in the city! And you know what this truck was busy! Tons of customers and it smelled awesome. Once we actually tried the tacos they were really awesome!! Great flavor they tasted awesome . But if your gonna put yourself in the line of fire you gotta out due the competition! The tacos were pretty skimpy especially compared to across the street where they LOAD THEM UP. Little yellow food truck sitting on Nacogdoches. I would always pass by but never stopped. My regular food truck was not there today so I tried something new. The burgers are excellent huge fries and a Coke comes out to $17 but I think mainly because I got Mexican Coke and not a regular. The burger itself was huge messy full of flavor and I loved it. Bomb!!!!! They are located inside Slackers bar, next to the Airtopia, open from 11am to 2pm then back open at 5pm to 2am. The food is amazing! I orders the asada mini tacos, they come in a quantity of 5, the regular quesadillas, also asada, and the street corn. All fantastic. The meat was very tender and flavorful. They are very generous with their portions and toppings. As a fellow Mexican, I approve of it all!!! The lady who took my order was very sweet and brought my food very nicely packaged with a big smile on her face. I can't wait to order more! This food truck was pretty good. I'm from California so I didn't have high expectations for tacos here and I was pleasantly surprised at the carbon and asada. They were both really tender. The torta was huge and pretty good too. It fed two of us plus the tacos. The green sauce went perfect with everything bc it had a kick but wasn't too over powering in spice. The peaches in cream was interesting. I didn't hate it but it's a lot of cream and peaches from the can. Overall the place was chill. Decided to try one more time since I haven't been in 2 months. Again I get served crap. Avocado slices on my tacos are browner than my asada meat. The meat taste like it was microwaved from the day before. It was chewy and crunchy at the same time. I didn't think this was possible. The mini tacos used to be 4 now it's 5. Each taco had less of everything in it. Just added another tortilla and spread everything out. Don't waste your time coming just go across the street to tacos west ave. I had the plate delivered, but for some reason (not sure which delivery service was used as they were ordered for me) the delivery person also brought their child along. I have been passing this taco truck for the last year and everytime I do I always tell myself "Next time I will stop and order". It finally happened and it was worth the wait. My biggest issue was the last time I went to Erick's (solely because this truck was closed) I waited 40 minutes for food that looked and tasted like dog food. Let me say that these are the best mini tacos I've had since living in the RGV. I ordered the carne asada tacos. You can add cheese and avocado for a dollar extra. They were perfectly grilled, and the tortillas held together when eating them. They're simple and delicious. I'd go as far as saying they're better than Taquitos West Avenue. Good customer service and the Super Gordita was really good! Very well served! Although I did have to eat it with a fork since it was big but not complaining,LOL:) The only complaint was that the mini tacos al-pastor would break into pieces, maybe the tortillas were too soggy but we did eat them as soon as we got in the car. The tacos were a little more expensive than at other places so them breaking into pieces was the downfall. But I do recommend the gordita.
