I stopped in during lunch time. The place was clean and starting to pick up for the lunch rush. I ordered an asada taco, el pastor taco, and asada gordita. The tacos were good and $1.75 on Wednesday which was a plus. They have a toppings and salsa bar where you can add whatever you'd like. The orange habanero sauce was soooo good, only a few places have it in Fresno. The asada gordita was pretty good, I couldn't pick it up to bite so broke off the shell to eat with a fork. Definitely would go back, especially on Wednesdays! The server was attentive and came to let me know the Gordita would take approx 20 mins and asked if I wanted the tacos first which I appreciated. Late lunch! 12/5/23 Happy Cinco De Mayo! Must get Mexican food! Shrimp ceviche ordered and they only have it for shrimp tostadas. Shrimp cocktail ordered instead. Chicken Torta ordered with no sour cream also. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went in to get it. It's a food truck and they have an indoor seating place right across, in front of the food truck. Greeted by a kind worker and the order was almost ready. Half was. The torta was almost finished. Paid for the order and the worker was happy to get me extra hot sauce. They have a fresh salsa bar area inside. Given the torta shortly later and left. Lunchtime and hungry! Shrimp cocktail split. The tacos are the best in town! Especially the carne asada and the cabeza tacos. The carnitas are excellent too. My favorite is the picaditas with chorizo which is made with fresh corn masa and refried beans with queso fresco and some red salsa. It's kinda like a sope or an open face pupusa but better. Strolled into this place a foreigner. The setup was a little different. Not sure what to do whether to seat ourselves first, or order first. The waitress was bussing down a dirty table. Walked over to her politely and asked her what was the process. She was nice, yet very quickly dismissing with her answers. When the waitress took our orders, her intense high energy and urge to start her closing tasks gave me a little anxiety. But lots of things give me anxiety. Listen, we came in maybe 40 mins prior to closing so I wasn't trying to be waited on any longer than I needed to but damn. I felt so rushed to give her my order. Meanwhile, she pushed some chips and salsa on the table quickly and left, didn't even get our drinks because she forgot that we ordered but she wrote it down I think? And at that, she slammed the bottle down on the table and zipped through her other tasks. Served us our food. 4 tacos for him, and a Carnitas burrito for me. The tacos were just slightly warm and the burrito was folded sloppy that all my stuff fell out. I asked for a spoon. The Carnitas just tasted like bland shredded pork. No crisp. No salty flavor. The rice was whatevs. The salsa bar however was pretty good in my opinion, but my partner didn't even finished his last two cold tacos. As we paid for the meal, the waitress again was fidgeting around like she had to pee trying to get us out of there and we left pretty upset. I try my best to put my feet in someone else's shoes. It's Cinco de Mayo, we came in 40 mins before closing time. She is taking care of the lobby by herself yet there was only a few tables to tend to. She probably has somewhere to be or she wants to get home. But I didn't realize how important customer service is.
