Best tacos in the state! They are so delicious, the meat is always perfectly cooked and seasoned. The salsa bar is fully stocked with different salsa's (mild, med and hot) that give the tacos a nice kick. I am a huge fan of the Al Pastor tacos and quesadilla but my husband loves the vampiros and tacos. Can't go wrong with anything you order. The food is excellent, if you don't speak Spanish and you have questions about the menu, it can be a challenge. The restaurant is relatively clean -- the table turnover is quick so often times someone is waiting for a table to become available before there is time for staff to clean it. We love the Al Pastor tacos and the Vampiros. It is always bustling and so you have to be attentive about listening for your name to be called, to pickup your order in front of the grill. We live close by the restaurant so we go here frequently. They do not have chips so just bear that in mind if you are craving those to go with your meal. During especially busy times it can be difficult to find a place to sit, even with ample tables. But order, then while you're waiting for your food, watch for someone to leave and grab your table. Tacos Lopez is now my officially go-to place when I need a late night bite. Always expect a line to the door especially on the weekend, doesn't matter if it's 10 or 11pm. We find out you can save some time standing in line by ordering online then driving to the restaurant and sitting down at their table waiting for your food. My favorite is Al pastor anything, and it is even more delicious than the Tacos El Gordo in San Diego! Other flavors are good but their Al pastor holds a special place in my heart. Man...... the search for some bomb Al Pastor tacos in Utah took me to Tacos Lopez in West Jordan. It was a fun, clean and friendly environment. It just opened, so get here before the crowds find out about it. I got the Taco Al Pastor, Chorizo Tacos, Al Pastor Vampiro and a cheese quesadilla quesadilla for my daughterr. The tacos are a 10/10 and I will be back for more, bringing my wife and brother in law back. I didn't love the Vampiro, only for the price on it, a little expensive. There's so many good taco places in the SLC area, and it was hard to find a good one in the sojo area but this place is the spot!!! Ordering has changed since a year ago. A year ago, you would need to stand in the line of the type of meat you wanted, but now, you just order at the cash register and pay then and there. Don't listen to the signs on the flat screen TVs that has a big arrow saying "order here". Everyone made a line at the register, ordered there, and then you wait around until your name is called with your order. The tacos are on the smaller size compared to other places with their meat portion being really small. Old photos from Yelper's had lots more meat than what we got so I'm not sure if they just downsized their portions due to COVID? However, you get what you pay for and all of their meat and sauces were flavorful. read more

This place has the BEST tijuana-style tacos. All their meats are good but my personal favorite is the tripa/tripe! Not many places serve it and do it right. They do it dorada style which makes it super flavorful and crispy. Another plus is their salsa bar. Their hot sauces are actually spicy which is a rarity in Utah. Get you some Pastor!! I came in on a Sunday. The first thing I noticed was how ridiculously clean the interior was, the tables and the chairs and the cracks on the floor all were spotless. I loved this. I ordered two Asada tacos and one Al Pastore Vampiro. All three items were phenomenal. Just plain flat out delicious. Tacos are probably my favorite food, and these left nothing to be desired. Maybe the best Al pastore I've had in Utah. My only complaint is the "communication". My anytime go-to SLC taco joint. These guys are open at the most convenient times (until 1 am usually) which makes it perfect for late night taco time post coming home from a show, bar, event where you realize you're starving and that this is the only place open further south past midnight. Besides the fact they have convenient hours though, they actually still have absolutely delicious tacos and it's still somewhere I'd come for tacos even at a normal lunch or dinner time. The place is poppin' and always busy especially in the later hours but the line is usually out the door. Their salsas are FIRE, literally- my fave is the orange one (habernero) they're hott AF and will leave my mouth burning but it's so worth it. All the salsas are great so you can't go wrong, add the complimentary sautéed onions and peppers to your tacos and dress accordingly with salsa (but start small/taste it first!). My favorite is the Carne and pastor- I probably lean more towards the pastor as my fave but everything here is good. It's a hot spot and definitely my taco spot of choice :) read more

Finally got the chance to try this spot and wow it's so great. Truly authentic, fresh Mexican food with no frills. We tried the pork quessadillas and asada tacos and everything was full flavored and delicious. There was spice to everything without adding the provided salsas but nothing overpowering. If you want an extra kick the salsas will do the trick I love that they packed everything up and included grilled onions and peppers, limes and salsas for us. I'm craving the quessadillas right now! One thing I was tiny bit sad about is they don't have rice and bean sides (I'm a sucker for sides) but the main dish options left me full and satisfied. read more

Have had to wait for an hour before because the staff on duty at the time did not speak any English, and wasn't able to communicate with them about my order from online to ask if it was ready.
