Went here yesterday. Kind of a dive on the outside but clean inside. Friendly staff. The chef plays great music and the Rueben sandwich ($11) was the best we've EVER had. Corn beef is made in house. Best breakfast we had while up in Leavenworth, Wa. My husband had the California omelet and he loved it. I had the country fried steak. It melted in my mouth it was so tender. This place has awesome food! We were served by Allison and Tracy who were the friendliest to this out of town family. They kept the coffee pouring which helped keep us warm on a snowy day! I had the buckwheat blueberry pancake which was huge and I couldn't finish it but it was delicious! We also had the Mikie likes, country eggs benedict , and chocolate chip pancake. I frequent this restaurant about quarterly ever since it opened. When it opened it boasted huge portions and yes they were. Usually, too much food to eat for most folks. The chicken sandwich was the best. The home cut curly fries were great. Fast forward to 2020. Only open 4 days a week, barely anyone in at lunch time, and a reduced menu. They were out of components of the menu items, didn't asked if I wanted a pretzel bun, and worse the fries had changed and there were only a small handful of fries. The fries were always my favorite part. I used to look forward to taking half home for later. I ate the whole meal there this time. Don't know why they weren't using the outdoor patio in good weather. Atmosphere lacked the charm found in some other local diners. Furnishings had outlived their usefulness years ago. Limited seating. Service was poor, attitudes were flat at best. My coffee cup was empty most of the time, and my attempts to wave down the infrequently appearing waitress failed. Coffee was weak anyway. Menu looked like good Diner fare with both expected and original choices at good prices. We found this place the night before, and decided to eat there the next morning. Great decision. We waited maybe 5 minutes before the ladies put us a table together (6 of us there). We got some diner coffee and looked over the menu. I had been told to try the bread pudding French toast no matter what, so I figured I'd get as a side to share with my husband. I ordered the chicken fried steak (the small portion thank god) and a side of the French toast and my husband ordered the simple breakfast. Let me tell you, for the price, the portions were humongous. And so damn good. The chicken fried steak was perfect and the sausage sage gravy on top was to die for. Hands down one of the best breakfasts we've had in years. I ordered the The So-be It and my wife ordered The Traveling Irish Man. The corned beef hash was absolutely amazing and fresh biscuits and gravy made from scratch made this a very memorable experience. Be warned that both came with a pocket/half-portion size and we had leftovers.(I'm 6'4" 260lbs. and couldn't finish the full order.)With an excellent and friendly wait staff, I would recommend this place to anyone who happens to be passing through. We found this place on a run from LEAVENWORTH to Wenatchee for snow boots. And so glad we did. As mentioned in other reviews portions are HUGE. Their gravy for the chicken fried steak is fantastic. It's sausage based and very flavorful. My husband had the sweet potato latkes. I don't love sweet potatoes but I did love these! The andouille sausage with his was also very good. Eggs came out perfect to order and I must say the hash browns were some of the very best I've had. Well seasoned, crispy top. Place is small but service is friendly. We stumbled across this cafe on our way to Blewett Pass from Cashmere. This is the kind of cafe I wish every small town had. When we saw the huge biscuits and big slices of ham, we knew we were in for a treat. The veggie omelet wasn't stellar, but it was genuine. This place used to be my favorite. I don't know what happened. The last couple times I went there with my family we were so disappointed. The orders were not correct, the sides were missing....15minutes for a missing side of toast. My omelet was swimming in grease. I could only eat the top off of it because the plate was a pool of oil.
