Ridiculously small Red curry carryout container on the left (and my drink container on the right)

Second time we've been here in the last 2 months. Once for dine-in and this evening for carry out. Food was ok but the portions were extra small. Unbelievable that the red curry container was so small and hardly had any protein in there. Sadly, time for us to find a new Thai place.

Ordered tofu and chicken satay. I was disappointed with the satay. Boring and hard. The tofu was soft but isn't appetizing. I am not getting this items again.

Takhrai Thai has my favorite drunken noodles in all of San Diego! It's a staple for me, but this time I was really excited to try some new dishes as well. The yellow curry and the sauce that came with the Tiger Cry steak were highlights for me. Both so savory with a nice kick of spice.

Gosh- What a great take out experience today! I ordered the green curry with chicken and the drunken noodles. The green curry was perfectly spiced, and it had grilled egg plant in it! Delicious! The bamboo shoots were great too- fabulous. The drunken noodles were addicting good- will definitely be back! Great service and I forgot to mention pricing was great too! Easy on your wallet but not on the pallet :)

The ambiance and food is outstanding! This is always my go to for Thai food no matter where I am. All the guests I've brought here have returned as well. Parking and location is also a plus, in addition to all the amazing savory dishes, the sweet sticky rice with mango is a satisfying dessert. Stop by and enjoy this gem. You won't be disappointed!

The food was amazing of Duck and chicken pad Thai noodle and cream cheese wontons but just the lad nah was not good taste. It was less salt. Didn't like it at all. Service was great and Ambiance was beautiful and clean.

Came here around 7:30pm on a Sunday night and it was DEAD EMPTY. The staff honestly looked at us like we were crazy when we asked to eat in. It was just 2 of us the entire time. We got some cream cheese wontons and chicken pad Thai. Overall, the food was the highlight. Very flavorful but definitely overpriced. We wanted some peanut sauce and they charged us $1 for the tiniest cup ever! The inside looks like the typical Thai restaurant you would expect and is surely big enough for a lot of people Save yourself the trip and just order takeout, it's awkward inside...

I tried their shrimp pad thai. So good

One of the best pad thai. Service was fast. The ambience was really Thai, very nice and clean

Came here for a late lunch. Ordered the boat noodle. Service was okay, nothing good or bad about it. The other 2 in my group Ordered curry tofu and sweat sour chicken. Those were decent, but the boat noodle is way off. Tasted like soy sauce soup. Lacked flavor. The decor is typical of many Thai restaurants. It has outside seating.

This is marinated smoke pork ribs and served with a sriracha hot sauce. This was a bit dry unfortunately, so the sauce came in handy when we were munching on it. It also tastes pretty good dipped in curry. The next item we got was the lamb hunter. This is a grilled lamb chop with panang curry sauce, mixed salad with fuji apple and olive oil. The lamb was tender and grilled just right. I adored the panang curry - it was both creamy and flavorful! I could probably drink it by itself haha. The salad was a nice addition too. This is also served with a bowl of white rice, so that really completed the meal. The last item we ordered was a dessert item - Mango Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and the rice was pandan flavored. The coconut milk was fresh and it brought everything together. I am a huge fan of mango sticky rice and AAHARN does a great job in making it. We picked up our takeout order in a timely manner and the server was really kind. She got our order and asked if we wanted any other serving items like utensils and plates. This came in handy since we ate at a picnic table. The first time we went, we ate at the restaurant and there was a nice calm ambiance to the place. Great spot if you have a smaller group or even for families! I would recommend AAHARN if you are looking for a Thai restaurant in San Diego. I also would recommend the Massaman Lamb Shank and Naan. We ordered this last time and it was divine. It is often out of stock (sold out since it is so good!), so make sure to call in advanced to see if they have it!

Thai Ladle in Poway is tucked into a strip mall that's currently under some parking lot construction, which makes finding a spot a bit tricky. With all the nearby kid activities( like dance studios, kiddie gyms, and such) parking probably depends a lot on the time of day. Inside, the restaurant is small and appears clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant enough. The biggest disappointment is that they don't have a liquor license. No beer, wine, or sake, which would have totally turned me away if I figured it out a little faster. What can I say, a girl needs a Chardonnay sometimes. The food itself was good & reasonably priced ,, but not especially memorable. Basically, solid Thai food, but nothing that stands out. Service was friendly, but very slow. Like, very, very slow. We had to flag our server down each time we needed anything, and since we were the only customers, it was hard to understand why. That said, she was very nice and welcoming. One more downside: flies. The door wasn't propped open, yet there werea few of them buzzing around that we ended up covering our dishes with napkins toward the end of the meal. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal, which made the experience even better. I ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice with chicken at spicy level 2. It was definitely spicy, but so delicious! The flavor was on point, and I kept wanting more. For an appetizer, I ordered the Dinner Appetizer Sampler, which came with crispy veggie rolls, cheesy wontons, potstickers, and tamarind chicken. My favorite was definitely the tamarind chicken. It was super crispy on the outside while still being juicy and tender inside. The potstickers were my second favorite. The sauce complemented them really well and paired nicely with the sweet-and-sour sauce. I also tried the Yellow Curry with chicken. The curry itself had great flavor and paired really well with the Thai Basil Fried Rice. My only personal preference would be for the vegetables to be cooked a little more. They were pretty chunky and took a little longer to chew, but the curry definitely had the flavor! Overall, I had a great experience and left feeling completely satisfied. The food was flavorful, the portions were fulfilling, and the service was great. I'm already looking forward to trying more dishes. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We ordered Chicken Red Curry spice level 4. This was more like an 8!!! This was super spicy that it was a little difficult to eat. The fact that they charge for white rice, is insane. You can't eat curry by itself so I was surprised that we were charged for it. We also ordered Chicken Larb, which was good, veggies were fresh. The third dish was the Drunken Noodles with tofu. The noodles weren't as fresh as I would've liked. It didn't have that bouncy texture. Instead it was soggy and sad. This was also a level 4 spice and this was also super spicy. I tried the Lemon Thai tea, which is basically like a Thai iced tea without the milk and more tart. Instead of lemon, they had lime. I guess they ran out of lemons. We also had the mango sticky rice, which was pretty good. Rice was the right amount of sweetness and mangos were soft and ripe. Food came out super fast and service was friendly. Kinda pricey for the food we got at 91 dollars. Didn't know about the already included tip, which is not advertised like some other Yelpers pointed out. Pailin Thai is in a shopping center that absolutely gets bonkers during busy hours, mostly because of the obnoxiously skinny parking spaces and the incredibly large cars trying to cram their way into them. We ordered our lunchtime meal online, taking advantage of their lunch combo specials. I got the See-Eyew Noodles with chicken ($13.95) and my husband got the Spicy Noodles with pork ($13.95). Because these were the lunch combos, each meal also came with a small serving of the soup of the day, a small salad, an egg roll and a fried wonton. The menu said you're also supposed to get steamed rice, but we did not. I'd rank the items in my lunch combo this way: the soup (not sure what kind it was, but it was coconutty and citrusy and there wasn't enough of it, in my opinion); the fried wonton; the salad; the noodles; the egg roll. Not that I didn't enjoy the noodles, they were just not the best I've had (and those who know me know that Pad See Ew noodles are my go-to Thai entree.) These noodles were lighter - in color and flavor - than I prefer, and too sticky to easily shove in my face with a plastic fork. The flavor was okay, if a little lacking. My husband's meal was supposed to be spicy noodles, but the container was labeled "Drunken Noodles", which I'm pretty sure is a different dish. But, he ate it all up and said he enjoyed everything about it. Though he did say the serving size was smaller than expected (I reminded him it was a lunch combo, not a full entree, and for what we paid, it was a good deal. I think he agreed haha.) I'd be willing to give them another try, because I love Thai meals and we seem to be lacking in good Thai restaurants anymore.

There were like 7 tables there at that time. I was told that it would take about 20 minutes for my takeout order. 45 minutes later I finally got my order. While waiting at the front a guest walked passed by me, and said quietly:"Don't eat here. The food is horrible!" He was telling me how bad each dish that he ordered. I was like oh, too late. I already placed my order, and was thinking how bad could it be? I ate here a long time ago, and it was good. Once I got my order I opened the lid and saw the whole order only had 5 pieces of chicken, and the chicken looked pretty pale like no sauce or anything. I tasted one small piece of chicken and a piece of eggplant. It's like my dish was boiled in hot water with a pinch of salt and a few pieces of pepper flakes! Very watery and as blend as it cold get.
