I had a really nice experience at **Tamago Sushi** and would definitely come back again. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit, which made the whole experience even better. The sushi was fresh, well prepared, and beautifully presented. Everything we tried tasted delicious, and the ingredients seemed very fresh. The rolls had a good balance of flavors, and the portions were satisfying without feeling too heavy. I also liked that the menu had a good variety of choices, so there was something for everyone. Service was quick, and the staff checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I also noticed their offer for complimentary hot sake when leaving a Yelp review, which was a nice extra touch. Overall, Tamago Sushi is a great place for fresh sushi, friendly service, and a comfortable dining experience. I would happily recommend it to friends and family and would definitely visit again.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't entirely confident when we decided to head to Tamago Sushi for dinner. By nature, conveyor belt/sushi boat restaurants can already be a little hit-or-miss in general, but even more so when it's located in a touristy area like Fisherman's Wharf. Still, I couldn't help but let my curiosity get the better of me, especially when you consider how positive so many of their early Yelp reviews are (which can also be a little suspicious as well...). While how a restaurant looks has no bearing on how their food will taste, it was definitely comforting to see how new and clean this place looked. With a set-up similar to that of Izumi Sushi in Serramonte and the ever popular Kura Revolving Sushi in Stonestown, Tamago Sushi has both a conveyor belt loop, circling around a variety of nigiri, rolls, sashimi, gunkanmaki, desserts, and fruits, as well as a track for their "bullet train" to deliver any orders made on their tablet. In addition, to their mix of sushi/sashimi, their menu also includes a decent mix of other offerings you can get, like appetizers, ramen, udon, rice bowls, like curry and gyudon, hand rolls, and more. -- UNAGI NIGIRI I don't usually get this at conveyor belt joints, but this wasn't bad. The unagi itself was decently large and not overly sauced, but it was kind of mealy and the overall taste wasn't very notable. -- SALMON NIGIRI This tasted exactly as it should and in the best way possible. The salmon was glossy (in a good way), fresh, and delicious. Plus, the slice of it was decently thick, too! -- HAMACHI SASHIMI I love Hamachi Nigiri, so it's hard for me to ever hate on one, but I'd skip this one. For me, the coloring on this was a little dark, but at least it tasted fine. -- SEARED SALMON TORO NIGIRI One of my favorites of the meal along with the Hamachi Toro. The salmon was just lightly torched/charred and I liked that they included a thin slice of lemon on it. Tasty! -- SCALLOP NIGIRI For better or worse, this was really standard. The scallop was fresh and had a slight sweetness to them, but nothing about this stood out either. -- SEARED SALMON NIGIRI Maybe it's because we had the Seared Salmon Toro Nigiri first, but this was forgettable. Quite simply, it was just hard to taste the fish under the sauce they drizzled on this. -- HAMACHI TORO NIGIRI Terrific and way better than the Hamachi Nigiri. Obviously, Hamachi Toro is just tastier, and this was prettier to look at, but it was also a whole lot fresher. -- BONITO NIGIRI This was an impulse grab, as neither of us have had this before, and I regret it. This wasn't all that flavorful and, for whatever reason, the outside of the fish felt a little dry. -- HAMACHI KAMA I don't often see this at a conveyor belt sushi joint, but this actually wasn't too shabby. The collar was cooked decently well and was quite moist. This also came with a dipping sauce, but I actually preferred the fish without it. One thing I would note, which also applies to every conveyor belt/sushi boat joint like Tamago, is that if the look or coloring of anything on the belt is even a little off, just order it from the ipad/server instead. If you do, you'll get a freshly made (or fresher made) order rather than have to grab the one that has been circling for an undetermined amount of time. Somewhat surprisingly, given how they're located in such a touristy area, Tamago's prices actually aren't as bad as I feared they were going to be. Don't get me wrong - it's definitely higher than the likes of Izumi in Japantown, which also has some more interesting offerings, but not by much in some cases (e.g. it's ~$1.50 more for Hamachi Toro Nigiri here, but only ~$.40 more for Unagi Nigiri). Either way, just be careful, as your tab can balloon quickly. Or, better yet, just opt for a more traditional sort of sushi restaurant for something even better. Unless you're like me and can't resist the occasional splurge on the novelty of grabbing your sushi off a belt/train. All in all, THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded up, but I hope Tamago's owners read this and take down those AI generated photos. They look AWFUL and do this place a disservice.

First-time visitors to this revolving sushi bar. The vibe here is casual and relaxed. Service here from the lone young waitress was AMAZING, as she also served as host, waitress, cashier, and busser. The food arrived on a conveyor belt, which was all extremely delicious and well-made. Pricing is based on the chosen plate color. My family and I also ordered rolls from the screen at our table. We definitely did some damage when all was said and done, as we ate so much sushi that we are going to have to be rolled out of this restaurant. Overall, this was a very positive and fun dining experience.

I went to try something new near the fisherman's wharf. They had a sign outside that said grand opening. I came inside and the guy at the door was nice. He seemed busy but greeted me right away and told me to have a seat anywhere on the right side of the restaurant. He asked if I've been there before. He asked if I've experienced this type of restaurant. "Sushi belt I'm assuming". He was nice but seemed kind of rushed. The restaurant had only two other patrons inside but there could be behind the scenes type of things going on. The seating was kind of awkward. Turning to look at the belt to grab sushi. Idk something's seems off. I promise I'm not being picky lol. It was awkward. The tables are also very large where I sat at and being by myself could be the reason. Idk. If you have someone with you maybe say hey grab me that one. I grabbed three dishes and one of them tasted very odd. Idk I ate one piece. I had two others and that was good for me. The restaurant was very clean. The prices were great.

We had a very disappointing experience at a competing restaurant, so Izumi was the Hail Mary pass to save an evening on a family vacation that was going south fast. Fortunately, they were the mirror opposite of where we left. Their staff was overloaded, but attentive, considerate. It was amazing how much they were doing and all of it with a smile. The food was overall a very good experience. I ate exclusive from the grab as it goes by pre-prepared sushi. It was acceptable and what I'd expect for the price. My wife ordered from the kitchen. She said her roll was the second best avocado roll she has ever had, and trust me, that isn't a ranking given lightly. My family liked it so much we returned a few days later. I ordered from the Kitchen this time and no surprise the freshness is superior to the belt, not that the belt is bad but if you want something that is more traditionally hot or warm like unagi, it is best to go to the kitchen. So, if you want to have a conveyer belt sushi experience and not risk a disaster, have some good food, experience some great service and have a carefree fun time with your crew, give Izumi a shot

This was actually rrreally good.... I absolutely loved the salmon nigiri. It's super clean and the service was great too.

San Francisco is rebuilding Fisherman's Wharf at the former Alioto's restaurant site . What if I told you that the Bullet train has already been built in SF and has a stop at Fisherman's Wharf so you can enjoy fish and seafood. There is one dish I cannot turn away if done well which is sushi. One thing sushi has to be to me is fresh. The fresher the better and there is stop with a bullet train which is less than two blocks from the Pacific Ocean . What makes this place rare is it's the few that has a revolving conveyer belt with a bullet train and it's also one of less than four Sushi restaurants in Fisherman's Wharf area. It's located on corner of Beach ( Not Ocean Beach ) on Taylor street. On a Spring stroll on Beach ( no sand included) street there is the newest bullet train to stop and drop sushi and it's called Tamago Sushi. They have the hot Udon (ohh Don)available along with many different sushi rolls. The sushi and other plates are put in a conveyer belt and it's on a rotation so you can select which plates to grab . You can also made to order sushi which then gets delivered in a miniature bullet train to your table. I enjoyed the different rolls like the salmon avocado, tiger roll , and the cherry blossom roll. Although San Francisco may never get a bullet train to Southern California anytime soon at least you can get express service of sushi from a bullet train at Tamago Sushi. Come take a ride on the bullet train with "Don Juan" who likes going to Fisherman's Wharf in SF because it's all types of seafood like shrimp ,Dungeness crab, king salmon , scallop, and "prawn" they now have a new sushi place bringing in a "new dawn "for Fisherman's Wharf sushi places that serve sashimi and the" Ohh Don ( Udon)" The sun in the month of March was being "felt "go to Tamago Sushi where the sushi and sashimi fish is so smooth in your mouth it will "melt"and how the sushi at this spot is being served and "dealt"is by using a bullet train on a "conveyer belt"

Tamago Sushi Conveyor Belt earns the 5 stars. The conveyor belt setup is fun without feeling gimmicky, and the bullet train delivery for made to order items is a nice touch when you want something fresh off the line instead of pulled off the belt. Fish quality was consistently good across several plates, not just the first couple before things go downhill. Service was quick and attentive even with a packed room. Ramen was a solid complement if you want something hot alongside the cold plates. Will be back, and would send any of my staff here without hesitation.

Even though they have many locations, this was our first time trying Marufuku. Our waitress was very helpful in her suggestions on what we should try for our first visit. We ended up getting the Tonkotsu Dx, one regular, one spicy. Both very delicious. What stood out is the tonkotsu broth, nice rich flavor, without feeling heavy. The Dx gives you a nice amount of toppings. I really enjoyed the thick pork belly that comes with the Dx. It's different than the usual thin cut pork belly. The bowl looks small, but there's a perfect ratio of noodles, toppings and broth. Noodles were cooked very well and the other toppings was good as well. The karaage was also delicious. No need for the sauce as the chicken was juicy and had a nice flavor to it and the right amount of crispiness to it. Overall a nice meal to have and delicious ramen. Literally a half a block from our hotel, Yelp showed us a 4.6 rated restaurant. Read some reviews and we were sold. We were both hungry (with my foodie son) and sat down for an early dinner. Granted, we came in around 9 PM, about an hour before closing, so we understood that the kitchen was getting toward the end of the night. We ordered a few dishes to share and there were actually some highlights. The scallops: These were great! Easily one of the better dishes we ordered. The karaage chicken: The chicken itself had great flavor, but the creamy sauce on top was extremely rich and ended up overpowering the chicken. I think with less sauce, this could have been a really good dish. Now, the ramen: This is where I was genuinely left speechless. I don't think I've ever had ramen with absolutely no umami. Like, none. It was one of the strangest things I've ever tasted. I was biting into something, there were textures in my mouth, it smelled great... but that was it. No depth. No richness. No umami. The broth, meat, and even the noodles somehow had almost no flavor. The only thing that really came through was the greasy chili oil that lingered on your tongue afterward. After a couple of bites, we looked at each other and decided to leave. At that point, most of the food was still sitting on the table practically untouched. Maybe we caught the kitchen on an off night, especially coming in later in the evening. The scallops showed us that there's definitely potential here, but unfortunately, the ramen was such a miss that it overshadowed the rest of the meal for us.
