Although we were only there for a tiny bit, it left a big impression. Literally just came here for the CHEESE FOAM (craved it so hard!) and was not disappointed. It's not bad if you don't want to drive to BH or Arcadia. My second time here last night was not as cute and fun as it was the first time around. There were 7 people in front of me when I got in line at 11:15 PM. It took 10 minutes before it was my turn to order, after three people left because they didn't want to wait any longer. Leaving was not an option for me since I was there for a slice of Lady M cake to-go and there was no where else I could get one at that time of night. Due to the intricate mixes of their teas, expect to wait longer for your drinks than most tea houses in Koreatown. Its all the extras such as the brulee, cheese foam, and tiramisu foams that takes a while longer to prepare. Without those, service would probably be much quicker. The drinks are also pricier than most, averaging $5 each. I ordered a slice of the crepe cake $9.50, red jade milk tea with tiramisu cream puff $4.75, and roasted oolong tea w/cheese foam and boba $5. The crepe cake tasted just as fresh as if I had purchase it at Lady M that day. The teas are very different to the taste, cute with a little shovel to eat your foam or boba. The cheese foam is interesting, not sure if I like it or not. The tiramisu foam or brûlée are both really good to try! Bring cash or your debit card since they do not accept credit cards. If debut card purchase is less than $20, there is a $0.50 charge. There is street parking in front and valet parking in the back garage. The cafe itself is cute as well, great place for a cup of tea and crepe cake to enjoy with your friends. They offer many different sinkers/toppers but do not have grass jelly (see my photo for sinkers and toppings). Tan-Cha is the bomb dot com. Guys, I'm a huge fan! I was a bit skeptical and cautious like the other yelpers have mentioned when I first heard about cheese foam with my tea. I'm pretty open to trying new food, so when I first tried cheese foam at a neighboring shop, my experience was subpar. But I decided to give it another chance, albeit with some slight hesitation. I went to Tan-Cha with an open heart and tried both their cheese foam and tiramisu puff cream and dear lord jesus, their tiramisu puff cream was so good! I was instantly sold! I talked with the staff to gauge what I should consider. Going into it, I was leaning toward the milk teas, but wanted to know what their most popular items were. I have three helpful tips for your experience at Tan-Cha. The first tip is what their top five sellers are. So here's the quick low-down, the number one is the Tiramisu Milk Tea, the second is the Cheese Uji Matcha, the third is cheese roasted oolong, the fourth is the Brulee Green Milk Tea Oreo, and their fifth is Uji Green Milk Tea. The Tan-Cha team had recommended the Tiramisu Milk Tea, so I decided to give their most popular item a shot. Now the Tiramisu Milk tea comes in three different types of milk tea, namely, the Royal Ceylon Milk Tea, the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, and the Red Jade Milk Tea. They are all the same price, but I went with the Royal Ceylon Milk Tea with Tiramisu Puff Cream because they said the tea would provide a stronger taste. So I went with less sugar and no ice as I prefer a drink without a cup full of ice. So my second tip is how to drink it. This may seem silly, but they recommend that you don't mix the drink. You open the lid, button the lid, and tilt it 45 degrees and drink the tea/milk and cheese foam together. It's such an interesting experience because you first taste the puff cream followed by the actual drink. It is absolutely wonderful! I'm very satisfied with my drink and the bits of chocolate toppings was like the cherry on top on an already delectable drink. My third and last tip is to bring cash as they charge extra if you use a credit card for orders under $20.00. It's a 4.5 stars from me and I rarely give something that high of a rating! I tried out the Tan-Cha in San Gabriel before giving K-town's branch a chance. The drink quality is the same as SGV's and is still one of my current favorite milk tea establishments. I had the Ceylon Milk Tea with Cream Puff. Ridiculously creamy and a good go-to for an aftermeal dessert! It's sweet. I'm not going to lie. One thing that I noticed was that they don't have the cute little shovels anymore and opt for a green spoon identical to the ones you get at froyo places.. The drinks are average for what general milk tea drinks go for. I think I paid $5.20 for my drink. They charge 0.50 to use card.. The establishment itself is pretty small. This is my favorite go to place for boba tea but I didn't been here few months. They re opened with new menu and I felt like totally different shop than before. Drink(4/5)-Menus was changed and I got disappointed this place with my favorite boba tea wasn't on the menu anymore. I tried ice frothy matcha cappuccino but it really pretty and tasty. If you like cappuccino or matcha then you should try. Also my friends ordered ice lemon yakult, strawberry smoothie. when I asked them to about that. They said it really sour, if you don't like sour then but you want to try then request more sweets. It tasted like kind of lemon citron. This is our second time giving this place a chance. They usually have EDM blasting so loud you can't order, no AC, and the employees are incredibly rude. We ordered a creamio and asked for no ice cream since the wouldn't blend any other drinks besides what's labeled a slush or a creamio, a grape cheese, and a strawberry green tea slush. We saw the reuse dirty spoons that were in the sink, and when they blended they used so little ice it was (not exaggerating) a milk tea. I love this place. Their cups are super cute and give you fancy bags to carry out. My favorite drink is the Puer tea with the matcha cheese. The pu-er tea flavor with the cheese is amazing. I got the uji matcha with boba, no ice with regular sweetness. My boyfriend ordered their roasted oolong with cheese foam (top3) with no ice and with regular sweetness. It's pretty delicious but I definitely recommend the uji matcha. Our total came out to be $11.22 with tax. Mine was close to $6 so it's pretty pricey. My bfs was $4.50 This will most likely be my go to tea place whenever I'm in the area so definitely try this place out! Parking is pretty nice, it's on top of the shop in a structure. It's free if you're dropping by to pick up tea, but for an extra $2, you can park and stay there for however long you want. They have free wifi too. The boba isn't as good as other locations that specialize in certain types of boba but the taste of the drinks honestly makes up for it and I just get agar boba instead. You have to drink it from the cup directly without a straw to sip the foam with the tea so I wouldn't recommend to add boba if you want to try their tea with any foam on top. The part that stinks is they charge 50cents per a credit card transaction and sometimes parking is hard to find but they have a valet lot for $3 around the corner if you really can't find street parking. This is a perfect boba shop! We were looking for a simple boba tea place with foam tops and classic milk teas and did not want a chain. We found it! A the tiramisu top was soooo good and sweet, the right amount of sweetness to the drink. The tapioca balls were the right amount of chewiness and sweetened with caramel. They are slightly on the pricier end (most drinks are around $5.50) but worth it. The service is insanely fast. I had literally just ordered and paid when they called my number, which is crazy given majority of their menu consists of special drinks. We went late on a Saturday night and found a lot a few blocks away by the Denny's that's free after 9pm. The flavor, the texture, and the pairing with the tea were all amazing. I ordered the oolong milk tea and they asked if I wanted to add their signature tiramisu puff. I went for it and added tapioca. I noticed from previous reviews that they used to hand out these cute mini shovels to scoop the cream out but they only had regular plastic spoons available. I know crepe cakes are all the rave these days but I couldn't justify paying $9.50 for one slice. Not unless you have the Lady M brand on it. Strawberry creamio w boba: Buyer beware! Creamio is just vanilla ice cream so you about to get a full damn meal with your drink. Holy moly woly. This is the best drink. The strawberry smoothie doesn't taste artificial at all and tastes like it has a blend of jasmine tea. It's soooo amazingly good. The creamio is legit just vanilla ice cream which tastes pretty good with the drink but only if you want it as a meal.
