Coming here reminds me of the good old days when the food was real, the menu is all in Korean and the nice waitresses speak mostly only Korean... then the panchan and food arrive in efficient manner and my soul as well as my tummy is satisfied. So happy to have discovered this place... my galbi tang was excellent - savory, meaty with plenty of rice and bone broth goodness! Also ordered the mandu which were the huge round-shaped ones... tasty, plump and juicy! We will definitely be back!

A cozy Korean restaurant serving your stews and hot dishes perfect for a rainy or cold day. Majority of the items are in Korean but you can use photos or google translate if needed. There were two ladies working: one to take your order or refill your banchan and one in the kitchen cooking. Although there was a language barrier, both ladies were very nice. One refilled our fish cake and kimchi when we asked. This meal was perfect for two people who wanted a light dinner! There's also extra salt and pepper at the tables if you would like more seasoning to your dishes. We will be back to try the spicy pork neck bone stew. You also have the option to order take out if dining in isn't your preference.

I love my Korean soups so I'm always on the lookout to try new Korean soup spots. As soon as a Korean colleague recommended this spot for its authentic dishes, I knew a visit was overdue! Also, they have a $15 weekday lunch special for certain soups and if I had a big appetite, I would have ordered one of each HAHAHA. This is located in the Amerige Heights plaza and is on the same side of the plaza as 88 Katsu and Dookki. Around 11:30ish on a weekday, it was relatively easy to find parking. There's plenty of seating inside. We were able to be seated immediately. I like that they give you barley tea instead of just the typical water. The servers may not speak perfect English but at least their menu has photos and english translation, so don't be hesitant in trying them out. I was craving something comforting and I was feeling adventurous, so I went for the Soondae Guk, which consists of Korean blood sausage, intestines, stomach, etc. I personally love eating those so this was not a challenge for me. You can choose between non-spicy or spicy, just make sure to let them know when you order if they forget to ask. I was super delighted when it came out because they packed so much stuff in my soup!! Don't forget to flavor your soup with some salt that they have set aside. If you use the shrimp paste, just be aware that it's extremely salty. You can add it to the broth or put some on your rice. My other coworkers got the Yukgae Jang as she was craving something more flavorful and spicy, and the portions were very generous! The Pork Belly soup looked quite comforting as well. The server was constantly on the lookout and made sure to refill any side dishes that we wanted. Our group loved the fish cakes and pickled radish. I definitely need to be back before the $15 lunch special is over, gotta try them all!

Came here for the lunch special, and it's a steal for these days. $15 for a big bowl of noodle soup with sides. You can't go wrong with that these days. It's a cute restaurant on the inside, and I nerded out for the tables. There is a drawer at each table with all your utensils you need in there. Very carefully placed, and it just made my experience much better just seeing that. The food was delicious. The Yukgae Jung was packed and very hearty. It is definitely the bang for your buck in terms of quantity. The Seolleong Tang was a light broth that makes you feel very warm. My wife enjoyed it a lot. Overall, I loved it here. I would love to come back and try other dishes or even their dinner menu.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but I'm not really sure if I'd really be coming back too often. The food was really good! A very home-y mom n pop type of shop! My friend ordered the special pork belly soup and I ordered the ox knee soup! The banchan was really good as well! my friend loved the fish cake and my fave was the kimchi that's was perfectly fresh and spicy! Portions for the pork belly soup was good but the ox knee soup was lacking a little bit of meat in my opinion. When we asked for a container to pack some of the banchan home they didn't let us. We thought that was such a waste of food and we only asked for a refill on some banchan once so we weren't really being greedy with the banchan :c

Really great korean comfort food, I went in during lunch to grab a bite. They have a lunch special $14.99 with a set menu includes mostly hot soups and cold noodles (Naenmyeon). I got the Yukgaejang and my friend got the Naenmyeon. Yukgaejang was slightly spicy with shredded brisket, egg and bracken fern (Gosari). It also came with glass noodles and a bowl of rice. The portions are big, I saved half for leftovers. The Barley Tea is refreshing and light perfect to the meal. The Banchan was pleasant, the kimchi is a good tell and it didn't disappoint. Not too fermented but not super fresh where the marinade didn't seep through. The radish, fish cakes, bean sprouts were average. Staff and service were really quick on taking orders and delivering the food within a couple of minutes.

This place was great! I got the spicy galbi-jim, which was rich with flavor. As someone who has had many korean foods before, this place had a wide diversity of korean foods compared to other places. The service was also very kind and swift with the making of the food. The ambiance here was nice too!

The place I visit when gookbap is needed. Ask for soondae gukbap. It feels so much like korea that my family come at least once a month.

I enjoyed the pork belly soup here since it was so clean in the beginning, but can be more umami as the meal goes on using salted fermented shrimp. There was a good amount of pork belly, heart, and intestine that made the dish very filling. Their Banchan was fresh as well and I really enjoyed their fish cake and tofu. Background On Visit: Was in the area after getting dash cam looked at and thought to myself that it is lunch time and was craving something soupy. Promo: Lunch special: 6 different soups for $13.99 each. From 10am-2pm (dine in and weekdays only). Wish the promo applied on the weekends, but it's only on the weekdays. The flier that was posted outside of the shop didn't mention that it was only for the weekdays. No worries... moving on. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restrooms: Restrooms are available. Location/Parking: Located in a decent size plaza with decent amount of parking spots. If you can't find parking in front of the restaurant, you can find a lot of more, towards the back. Ambiance/Decor: Nice ambiance with modern furnishings. On the side of the table, there's a little drawer that you can slide open and get your utensils. Service: Endy, server, was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She also ave me good suggestions on the soup that I should get. Food came out at a decent time and Endy was a good sport when I asked for many refills on the banchan. Soup Of Choice: Note: Meal comes with barley tea, bowl of brown rice, and 6 unlimited banchan side dishes. I loved the kimchi, radish, and tofu skin. 1) Pork Belly Soup: Pork bone broth with heart, stomach, and rice noodle. Absolutely delicious. They definitely didn't skimp on the innards. Tang For Thought: Would love to revisit and try their lunch special one day.

I just had dental work done today, so figured a nourishing soup would be good for dinner. Decided to try this place as take out. Online ordering was easy. There was a moment when I wasn't sure my order went through. On the status update, it only said sent but not confirmed. I showed up to the restaurant and my food was ready. The food was packaged without spills. I had expected lids but they were plastic films that frankly took me some time to peel off and I worried about microplastics as the soup and rice were hot under there. Only 2 side dishes came with my to-go order, regular kimchi and radish kimchi. I ordered the ox knee bone soup. The meat was tender. Salt came on the side so I seasoned it to my liking. The broth was not as rich as some others I've had, it was white but not quite milky. Overall a satisfying meal but nothing special.

We also tried the galbitang, hand-pulled kalguksu, and bossam, and everything tasted so comforting and authentic -- it honestly reminded me of Korea. We found this restaurant on Yelp since we are in the area for a weekend away from San Diego. Rather than driving all the way to LA for good Korean food, we opted to find one around Orange County. Wanted to try new Korean dish that I haven't tried yet. I had three items I wanted to try but opted to go for the mini size bossam. Just heads up, there a little bit of a wait if you order the bossam. I was not sire if it was 15 minutes or 50 minutes. Since it was my first time trying this, it tasted great to me. Hubby ordered the hot pot bulgogi, which I thought tasted good but hubby didn't like it. We also ordered korean dumplings which we both liked. The "Unnie" barely speaks english but we really didnt mind. There is a drawer under the table where you can find the chopsticks, napkins & spoons. There are three different seasonings on the table (grounded sesame seeds, tiny shrimps & i can't remember the last one). They also provide you with a jug of cold barley tea upon sitting. Though i am not sure if this is free or not. It is very casual inside and can get a little loud when there are a lot of customers. I came across Tang while craving something authentic and comforting--and it did not disappoint. From the moment the side dishes (banchan) hit the table, I knew I was in for a treat. The kimchi was perfectly fermented, fresh, and had that bold, homemade taste you only get from real-deal Korean kitchens. Every side dish complemented the meal with depth and variety, making it feel like a full experience before the entrée even arrived. I ordered the spicy pork belly, and it was incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of heat and char. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and the marinade was layered with care. The spice hits you in waves--enough to wake your palate up but not overwhelm it. If you're looking for an authentic Korean meal in Fullerton with great service, solid portions, and standout side dishes, Tang should be at the top of your list. Wow, I absolutely love jokbal (braised pig's feet), bossam (boiled pork belly), and sundae (Korean blood sausage), and Fullerton Tang truly stands out. I had an amazing experience at this restraint. I sat in the back in their conference room. There were like 3 tables in the back. I tried the ox soup broth with pork blood cube. It was spicy and good. It came in a giant heated bowl. It tasted so good with steamed rice. My brother got the silver noodle with beef ribs. The ribs just came apart. He said the broth was amazing. He drank all the soup. The chicken and ginseng came steamy hot and flavorful. My mom loved the chicken soup a lot. I also got a large steamed sliced poke plate. It came with marinated or fermented Napa cabbage. The pork was not chewy or died. It was moist and tender. I simply love this spot. read more

Here's another tremendous Korean gukbap place in Fullerton! I've been on a frenzy for Daeji gukbap recently, so I have tried more than a dozen gukbap restaurants in a short period. So far, only a few places have been worth mentioning, but Tang is definitely a place that is worth the review! The place is clean, friendly, and comfortable. Let's be honest; you don't really look for a five-star fine dining experience when you go to gukbap place. You just want to have a good, warm gukbap that will fill you nicely in a cold winter. This place has that dining-at-home vibe, which I liked. The food is good! I decided to try their daeji gukbap. It was good just by itself, but even better with their tasty kimchi! It was on a promotion, all day special $14.99 (regular price $17.49). When you can get a good, tasty, filling gukbap under 15, man, I'm sold already! If you are looking for a good Korean gukbap experience, I'd recommend this place. If daeji gukbap is not your thing, they have planty other options as well! read more

Place is FIRE. We had some Beef Rib Soup today at Tang restaurant. My first time here with my crew, and the food was delicious. Nice looking place to kick back in Downtown Fullerton. I've been here a couple of times now, and overall, I'd say it's just okay. The atmosphere is pretty much an older Korean-style bar. Nothing too special, but it has that familiar late-night Korean spot feel. The service was a bright spot though. The server was very friendly both times, which I appreciated. For me, the main issue is the food. I've been here twice, and I honestly can't think of anything I tried that I would call really good. The second time, I came after playing tennis with friends, and we ordered fried oysters, garlic chicken wings, and golbaengi muchim. I didn't touch the fried oysters because before we even ordered, someone mentioned that the oysters here can sometimes taste too fishy. I'm not a huge oyster person to begin with, so that was enough for me to pass. The garlic chicken wings were also just okay. The chicken itself was pretty basic, but the garlic sauce didn't really blend well with it. It felt like I was eating chicken and garlic separately, rather than one balanced dish. The golbaengi muchim was probably the most unusual one for me. They add dried pollack inside, which I normally like, but it didn't work well in this dish. Every time I bit into the dried pollack, it felt more like chewing paper than eating something that belonged with the spicy sea snail salad. I can see why some Korean friends might come here for nostalgia or because it's one of the few late-night Korean bar options in the area, but personally, the food just hasn't worked for me. The service was friendly, and the place itself was fine for a casual Korean bar, but the food didn't stand out on either visit. The price also felt pretty high for what we got. On my second visit, three dishes and a few sodas came out to around $120, which made it harder for me to understand why people specifically choose this spot.

The takeout order came with kimchi and rice, which I think was for the bulgogi. I realized I should have asked for the arrowroot noodles, since that was the one I wanted. Make sure to specify if you're ordering over phone! Overall, everything was good and a good portion for two people. This seems to be a busy location as the entire store was packed when I went to pickup at noon. It also has a large plaza with plenty of parking. American Express is accepted here.

Where as the brisket version above that will have the even more delicious briskets with some fat for max enjoyment, I guess. Either way, the clearer broth impressed even my wife who doesn't like regular Sullungtang, so it's that clean tasting. My boy also loved it. 2 orders fed us 3:) And the awesome radish kimchi, of course a match made in heaven with the soup. I'll try the brisket version next time to see if that gets even better:)

The accompanying dipping sauce of radish, soy sauce, vinegar, and wasabi was an excellent complement, cutting through the richness of the meat and adding a refreshing contrast. The 반찬 are apparently made in-house, and you can taste the difference. Everything was fresh and well prepared, especially the quality of the 고춧가루 they use. My only gripe? No soju. It may just have to be my new breakfast spot.
