All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. There were so many other flavors going on that the gochujang seemed completely masked, and the wings weren't crispy at all. One of the kids' chicken tenders came out cut in half, which I'm assuming was to check that it was cooked through. Not necessarily a huge deal, but it was strange presentation. My husband and I both ordered the Caribbean chicken sandwich, and neither of us enjoyed it. It was dry, didn't have nearly enough sauce, and the pieces of slaw were way too large for the sandwich. I paid for extra sauces that never came, and my husband received the wrong sauce. The fries were good, and the service at the table was much better this time, but that was about it. After two visits at very different times, we've had essentially the same takeaway: Grackle has a cool concept and the sauces are fun, but the food just hasn't lived up to what we expected for the price.
