    Amazing Sampler Platter! with 2-sides
    Jake W.

Marvin the owner knows how to make anyone come back for more! Amazing BBQ Sampler with 2-sides. The Sides, potato salad was on point, with red russet potatoes and very savory. The coleslaw was very bland and dry but if you add balsamic vinegar to it, it was pretty good, but my southern taste buds are picky when it comes to that stuff. The MEATS! The brisket, pulled pork, chicken breast, tri-tip, pork-ribs, and Smoked Sausage was great and tender all around! The provided tangy barbecue sauce just made it more epic!! If they add cornbread to these platters, it would just make these much more irresistible! Super small business but HUGE work effort and amazing friendly staff and please ask about their PORK BELLY-BURNT ENDS They were awesome to provide a MILITARY Discount as well so be sure to show proof and give them your patch/sticker.

Tender, fallin of the bone kind pork ribs.

From the beginning I said that this is The BEST BBQ in Simi and even surrounding cities. And until now I am convinced that there is no others. I had the famous Dino ribs again remember always best to call ahead and reserve it since you never know when are they gonna be running out. I'm very glad that Tony and the gang business is getting the recognition they deserve so I'm asking to all be patience since perfection take times and if you can wait do a call order. Ok back to the meats, I think picture and video should clear all that. Juiciness and fall of the bind meat so tender. Oh my. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Dan Tan

Wanted to check this spot out after seeing some pics here in Yelp. This is a take out only spot, I would prefer the option on done in or take out, but not a deal breaker, the food tastes the same either way. The shop itself is what you would expect for take out only, small store front, walk in to a counter to order from, grab you food and go. Nothing fancy, just focusing on putting out good BBQ. The girl working behind the counter was friendly and got my order out quickly, she said maybe 7 minutes or so, but she was out with my order in less than five. Great service. Now to the food, I order the brisket combo that comes with two sides, I got baked beans and Mac & cheese, I did not realize a drink as well, bonus. Out the door just over $20, which I did not think was bad for BBQ. The brisket had a nice flavor to it, a bit of fat, but not too much. I really liked the sauce, a tiny bit of spice and a nice flavor profile. The baked beans were also very good, large beans in a peppery sauce, full of flavor. It also came with a few of their pickles, which I really loved those, need to get a side of them next time. What Fell short for me was the Mac & cheese, not much flavor and seemed a bit over done. I added some Tabasco to it to give it some zing, but I would not order that side again, something they should work on. I was debating between the Mac salad and this and I picked the wrong one. But I would like to try other items from the menu and plan on coming back as the BBQ was very good. Enjoy!

Brisket done right!! I Highly Recommend TAPO BBQ

The Best "Falling Off The Bone" ribs in town. They really take pride in their BBQ and it shows. Good sides, and Man sized portions. The owners really appreciate and value their customers. Please support this local, community business! Highly Recommend

OK, I had some free time, and decided to venture into this BBQ place that came highly recommended by my friends. First off, BIG KUDOS to Tony & Gabby for my endless questions about their food. Although they were out of the items I wanted to try, they were nice enough to give me samples of the items I had inquired about that they did have. OMG! The CHILI BEANS & MEAT and PICKLES were THE BOMB! I could tell Tony TRULY LOVES what he does and CARES about his food being DELICIOUS ~ And it shows in the EXCEPTIONAL TASTE of everything I ate. I'm coming back soon for the TRI-TIP! I can't wait!!

Brisket. Just get it, thank me later. Tender & tasty. Sandwich was packed with it, and I really enjoyed it. Tri tip was great too. Not dry. Sides were a decent portion. Even the pickles were good. No tables, no chairs. Simply order and take out. Smoking of the meats isn't done inside, but out in the back of building. I will definitely come again when I'm craving bbq.

A new bbq spot in town! I am always eager for new spots like this so I was very excited to go with some friends. We ordered a selection of items. I personally had the brisket sandwich. Everything was tasty from the meat, to sauce and pickles. Happy to get this business started on Yelp. Wishing them much future success!

Heads up if you want to get all the choices then you need to be there before 2 PM. He does things fresh every day he's open. He stays open till he sells out. Do not get upset with him. Right now he's still gaging the amount of sales per day whatever doesn't sell he doesn't use for the next day. He wants every one to have fresh stuff every day. His brisket is delicious. His mini Dino's when he has them are delicious. Pulled pork is hit and miss sometimes it's dry others it's moist. Haven't been able to taste the tri tip yet. The beans aren't my style of beans. Tony is kind and he is friendly. He will answer questions. He's honest. The spot is small, but that keeps his rent down which keeps his prices reasonable. Simi, let's take care of our own. Let's keep this place open support Tony.

This place is amazing. The brisket sandwich I got was STACKED, I was not expecting that. I found out they had pork belly, instantly asked for it, and have no regrets. It was delicious. Sauced and tender, with plenty of seasoning but not overly done. The Mac and cheese was good, loved how cheesy it was and the flavor was a not just Mac and cheese but you got a hint of the BBQ in it. The Mac was a bit softer than I like but the flavor made up for it, so I still 100% recommend it. They were pretty quick about getting the food out and they were nice. The line was long but I'm not complaining, I'm happy they are getting business cause they deserve it with how good the food was. If you're in a rush, don't go during lunch on a Sunday or be smart and order ahead. It's not a sit down place so I don't really have anything to say about the ambiance. I'm def going back to try more food. The red velvet cake is calling my name.

Fried fish with very little flavor or crunch. Soft flower tortillas, that just couldn't keep the fish from sliding out of them after each bite and rapidly falling apart. Nothing like Rubio's fish tacos in taste, freshness and quality. With dry rice that was only made palatable by the salsa my wife had loaded up on at their salsa bar. My mom is just too good of a Mexican cook, so the bar is set ridiculously high. That being said, Sol y Luna does a lot of things right. The salsa here is amazing, and that's one of the biggest ways I judge a Mexican restaurant. If the salsa isn't good, we're already off to a bad start. Thankfully, that's not a problem here.I also love that they prepare the guacamole tableside. It's always fun to watch, and it doesn't get much fresher than that. Over the years, I've also run into quite a few famous people here, which adds a little extra excitement to the experience. Another thing I look for is mole. It's one of the most complicated and time-consuming Mexican recipes to make, and I absolutely judge a restaurant by whether they can pull it off. Today I went with tacos.
