I was so disappointed with my visit today. I've always recommended this place to my family and friends and we've always had good food and service. The owner is always so welcoming and courteous. But today we had the worst service, the waitress never checked on us and was sitting and on her phone. We were 3 at first and we asked for more chips bc we were brought very few and broken ones. That was fine, they brought us another basket. Then our other friend arrived and she asked for chips since she just got there. Little did we know that we are going to be charged for it. We have never been charged extra. No other Mexican restaurant charge for that. Of course they were very adamant about charging and the owner was not there. They called the waitress who was not attentive to us and she was no help. Then a young man came up and he was very nice and helpful. I wish he would have gotten the tip. We even left a tip even thought the service was bad. This was my first bad experience here. We left around 2:30 and not sure if I will be back with all the friends I've recommended. I finally decided to stop by and try this place. My husband ordered the Mini tacos and I had the Menudo. The tacos are super tasty and flavorful and I will definitely go back for these. The Menudo lacked flavor, it tasted watered down. The place has a nice clean atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming. These are def some boss taquitos from @elpatron.taqueria Wifey loves to surprise me from time to time with lunch from this taqueria spot on Bandera. This was the 3rd time now, and just like the last two times, it was This 3 Taquito plate was the perfect surprise. Loved the crunch of the taquito but how moist the chicken still was inside. And wow, their salsas were amazing! Devoured the verde and did some damage to the red but man it was The best thing about this plate were the refried beans, hands down. I've had beans all my life, who hasn't. So when you taste good beans, you sit up a bit in your seat. These did just that! I highly recommend you give this place a try. Passed by this place while running errands and stopped for some tacos! They have a drive thru which was quick and convenient. I got a chorizo & egg and papa ranchero breakfast taco and liked both! Good salsa too! Before 10am, breakfast tacos are $0.99, after 10 am breakfast tacos are $1.75 which is honestly worth it. Just your standard taco spot. I would not got far out of my way to go, but if you're in the neighborhood and looking for food, I'd recommend popping in here for a delicious bite! read more

This was my first time here, came to check it out after my husband went the day before for lunch and couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. First off I was able to order lunch during breakfast time bonus points for me. I'm not a big breakfast person. So I was able to get the chicken enchiladas Verdes and it's really good. Husband ordered bacon and egg plate and was so excited that they asked him if he wanted it mixed or not this was a + is his book. Nothing was left on either plate after eating. My son ordered pancakes and they are GOOD we all take turns sneaking a bite of them when he's not looking. Overall YES will continue to go here! read more

I stopped by for lunch and ordered the enchilada special with tea, not knowing there were 2 specials, was thinking I was getting 2 enchilada plate with tea, but i got served 3 enchiladas with tortillas and tea, it was very tasty and good, but make sure you are specific with which enchilada plate you order, as you'll be surprised at the high lunch bill as i was. I had the egg and pork chop breakfast Bean some potatoes and flour tortillas. eggs done well is over medium small portion of potatoes and beans for the price pork chops thin, minimal fat. if I had to guess I would say the tortillas are prepackaged. my husband rated the menudo as good portion size but a little thin the pieces of menudo are small and he would give it a C+ (better than most) comparing the Los Barrios menudo on Blanco, A÷. at 11:00 a.m. we noticed the mix of customers tend to be more toward younger families and there's a spattering of older diners. read more

Stopped in this morning for a celebration meal for my daughter after passing her driving test to get her license and...well...meh. My plate was pretty good I'll give it a 6 out of 10 but my daughter and her friends plates oh my goodness. My daughter ordered ground beef enchiladas and it was absolutely horrible. Only good thing on her plate was the rice, her friend ordered the Steak Ranchero and the steak was well wellllll done so done she had to take a drink with every bite to put enough moisture back into the meat in order to swallow it. I ordered al pastor mini tacos, from the drive-through. Al pastor is usually my favorite, and I'm not super-picky about it. But, it was under-spiced, under-salted and greasier than any I've ever had. So greasy, it soaked all the way through the double corn tortillas it was placed on. The al pastor tacos came with over-salty rice and flavorless, slightly undercooked, very under-spiced and under-salted charro beans. I was STARVING and expected to eat everything. But, I could only stomach 2 of the 4 tacos and a couple of bites of rice and beans, before the greasiness and over/under-saltiness was too overwhelming. I considered mixing the rice and beans to offset the over/under-saltiness, but just decided to give up. I am generously giving this place 2 stars, mainly because their green sauce was delicious and had good heat, and the lady in the drive-through was super sweet.
