I was looking for a Mexican restaurant nearby, and this one came up on top. My family and I visited…read moreon a Tuesday evening around 5 PM, there was no line when we arrived, but it quickly built up after us. We ordered a chile relleno and a chicken fajitas plate. They gave us two cups of free tortillas, a self-serve, generously stocked salsa bar. The food came out pretty quickly, and that's when we realized just how much we ordered! Plates were huge and both the dishes came with beans and rice. The fajitas plate was $20.88 and could easily serve two people, it came with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato slice, meat and veggies, and beans and rice. The chile relleno wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped, since it was drenched in sauce, but it did have a nice cheese pull. I noticed a lot of people getting takeout, and next time, I think I will do the same.

I'm sorry, but we all were not very impressed with the burritos…read more No avocado in two of them, nor the sour cream...seriously, why did we pay for a super burrito, then?!? My husbands Al pastore had no flavor to the pork, and one side was all rice. Disappointed at the lack of even distribution. When I look at the pictures in this site, I wished I would have gotten a different chef It is a heavy burrito, just wish they all were made correctly, or better. As far as the salsas, I wish at least one had chunks of tomatoes & peppers.... something more substantial Probably will be back..maybe next year.

The quest for the best tacos in the Tri- Valley continues...... we stopped for lunch at this…read moretaqueria that my guy picked. So, I ordered my usual fish taco and shrimp taco with a Corona at the counter. There is a small chips and salsa bar next to the counter. Oddly, they provide VERY small paper bags to hold a few chips. That wasn't going to work for two hungry adults so I asked for a basket. That turned out to be an awkward ordeal. The owner/ manager ( not sure who) made kind of big deal about how "special" I am to be the only customer who gets a basket. We both thought it was awkward and rude at the same time lol. They have two small rooms to sit at a table. The tv was turned up when we were half way through the meal. It was much too loud for the small space. Another weird event. We couldn't wait to leave. Outdoor seating? There are a few small tables in the front of the restaurant, but the road noise was too loud for that option. Impressions The tacos were bland and unappetizing. I was very surprised how they lacked flavor. My husband had some kind of ala carte plate. He loves Mexican food! It was a disappointing meal for both of us. Suggestions The customer is the focus so you earn return visits. I think that was lost to the staff on this particular day. It's not a big deal to offer a bowl or basket for chips. If you have customers, especially who aren't watching tv, turning the volume up for the employees to hear is not going to make a good impression.

I wouldn't expect traditional Mexican food coming here because it's definitely more of a Cal-Mex fusion! The presentation, ingredients, ways of preparing are different and I love that :) Asada Fries ($25): I enjoyed this much more than I expected, and I thought I would bring some home...I didn't. The ranch and BBQ sauce surprised me, but the flavor profile worked! Also loved the shape of the sidewinder fries, kind of like c-shaped wedges. Crispy Plantains ($14): I enjoyed these dipped in sour cream! It came with a lot, so I would for sure save some to eat with vanilla ice cream at home :) My friend got a side of black beans ($8) with it which she said was okay; I think she was thrown off by them being drowned in water lol Our server was lovely even as the evening got busier. I will be back to try their enchiladas and Mahi Mahi burrito!

They even split the meal onto two separate plates for us. The food was reasonable priced, around 20-25 per dish. However, a fountain soda was $5 and the fee to split the meal was $3, which we felt was a bit excessive. Otherwise it was a cute place to stop for a quick lunch!
