Craving a big burrito for lunch, I stopped into Taqueria Vallarta. I ordered the Super Burrito with Al Pastor. The burrito price of nearly $12 for the super burrito and few dollars less for a regular. The super was pretty darn big and it was a great value at that price. The Al pastor was fine, so I think I will try another meat next time. You get one snack tray of chips and a small plastic cub for the salsa bar. If you want more chips, it's an extra $1. I believe 25 cents for another plastic cup for salsa. Honestly, an extra chips and more plastic cups should be free. The small parking lot can be a challenge for lunch time. read more

Note to the owner .. . The young man at register who says hes related to owner Lacks customer service and customer appreciation. Gets irritated when taking orders that are requested . And looks clearly as if someone forced him to be there .no smile no thank you NOTHING ! If thats who represents your restaurant its a shame for the past 2 years not one problem til now. We love coming here before bingo and the regular staff is always helpful and attentive but not today .. I ordered two tacos with Carne asada. The meat was flavorful and both the smokey red salsa as well as the green one were both amazing. Service was polite and the place had a nice dine in area with a cute painting on the wall. I would definitely go back and try different meats. There are much better options out there for fast Mexican food. Sadly, although this place is super close to us, after trying it 2 different times, I won't come back. I tried the tacos one time which were over priced for the size. And the super burrito was mostly rice and beans and a bit of hard chewy meat, which was nothing like the barbacoa I'm used to. And honestly if there was any guacamole or sour cream in there I could not see it. I was charged extra for a bit more salsa, and like others on here have said, the chips were just a handful. I discovered the existence of Taqueria Vallarta about two years ago but finally had the chance to check it out yesterday. I tried their chicken super burrito and i was pretty happy with it. The chips that came with my dine in order were good too. I would like to see a greater selection of hot salsa though. Out of five they only offered one. The tables are small but the chairs are comfortable. It's part of a string of businesses so the parking is hit or miss depending on the time of day you go. I went around 1 but I found a spot. Their hours are 8am to 7pm during the week and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays closed. When I first discovered them their hours were not as long during the week. Now that I know they're open later I will definitely go back for dinner. read more

I called this restaurant an hour before closing and ordered me a chicken super burrito. Came in 10 minutes and the food was ready! The girl at the register was very nice with good customer service, the inside is very clean. Got to grub on my burrito and it was delicious! I love the spice in the guacamole had some good kick to it. Burrito was perfect for me not too salty but just right. If you eating healthy and you want that homemade authentic taste. I stopped by in the early afternoon since it was right on the way to my friend's house. I ordered an al pastor taco and a carne asada taco. The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. I was impressed with how quick my food came out, but my positive experiences ended the moment I took the first bite out of the pastor taco. The pastor lacked any of the flavors or textures one would expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. It appears that it was slow cooked in a liquid rather than roasted on a spit. The asada did not fair much better. It was dry, bland, and very tough. I doused my tacos with salsas to make them a little more palatable. While the salsas were tasty, they simply could not make up for the lack of flavoring from the meats. While I can not speak for the rest of their menu, I definitely will not be returning here for tacos any time soon. read more

I decided to check this place out a few days ago in route to work. My first impression when I walked in was a bunch of paper signs posted everywhere instructing customers. I will be honest they made me laugh, until I realized they were serious. I ordered a chili rellano supreme burrito, chips, and salsa to go. Chili rellano burrito was HUGE, biggest burrito I have ever seen. Well I managed to eat 1/3 of it and put the rest aside for later. The chili was soft like I would expect, so I honestly enjoyed that part. The rice was stale tasting, almost dry and crumbly. But the thing that threw me off was the massive oil puddle left behind after I wrapped up the leftover portion. It was pretty much trash by the time I was ready to tackle another part of it. So 5 stars for size, 5 stars for the chili roasted perfectly, but 2 1/2 stars overall. Stale rice and oil is a huge turn off sadly. Now about the chips...0 stars here... I don't even know what to say here. I was handed my bag and I asked for the chips (assuming they forgot them since I only saw a burrito in the bag). The lady said they were in the bag, umm no... She insisted they were in there so I moved the napkins and there at the bottom of the bag was a tiny sandwich bag with roughly 10 oily chips inside. I pulled out the bag and looked at her asking if that was it??? Yup! At this point I regretted not asking for a receipt. Did they actually charge me for 10 chips? Fail on my part. So I turn around and see the paper sign instructing customers to ONLY take 2 tiny plastic cups of salsa per chip order. Honestly one tiny cup would be sufficient for the tiny chips bag I was given. The salsa was watered down and the pico was dry (unsure how this is even possible). I had to mix pico with another red watery sauce to give it some moisture. I read some other reviews wondering if I missed something. Apparently they are known for being stingy with the chips. SIGH.. ok then. I asked for them with the expectation that I was paying for them and getting a decent order like all other establishments. I left thinking that this place really doesn't value their customers based on the childish instructional signs posted everywhere and ten chips to go. Struck me as really odd. We ate there for an early lunch. We had three burritos and one enchilada. I ate the enchilada (#15) and sampled the burritos. Everything was quite delicious and enjoyable. The word that comes to mind about this place is "authentic". I feel they have stayed away from gringo style Mexican food and stayed more true to traditional Mexican food. This was reinforced by the soft drinks being the Mexican origin (sugar cane) and the decor. The place was clean, the bathrooms well attended. Though, the mens' room door locking mechanism didn't seem to work well. Price for 3 burritos, enchilada and four drinks was $48. This puts it at $12/person which is expensive fast food. This is not a criticism, or any kind of negative remark. Its more of a compliment, as I consider the price reasonable for what we got. Service was prompt and our orders done accurately. Food was served hot. I found the staff to be nice and friendly. My family and I will be returning as the opportunity presents itself. read more

Decent standard mexican fare. I usually get the lunch special which varies from day to day but is a meat (chicken mole/barbacoa/chile verde) with beans, cheese, rice, and a bit of salad. The default refried beans are watery, so ask for pinto or black beans if you prefer. Self serve salsas are decent, but not outstanding. Pico de gallo has more onion than tomato, which seems a bit odd. They do have nice large burritos and a half decent chile relleno. Service is friendly and quick and the prices are reasonable. 3.5 stars if I had that option. read more
