Price gouging. The menus at the cashier are outdated with the wrong prices. I ordered item #1 listed as $3.75 and item L35 listed as $8.50. I was charged $14.25 paying cash. If you use a card they charge a fee without informing you. Tax is NOT $2.00. I questioned the amount she told me the prices have changed. I didn't say much since I already paid and hadn't gotten my food yet. I didn't want any funny stuff if you know what I mean? Once I received the food I made another comment about the incorrect prices to cook who brought the food. He could care less. I told him I was going to report them for false advertising. Yesterday, my husband and I went to this restaurant. We ordered the shrimp with rice noodles as takeout. When we got home and opened the containers, the shrimp smelled like it was not cooked. My husband had to end up, stir frying, our meals ourselves to make sure that it was done. Their service is lacking in the rush and are not that friendly. The wife and I decided to not cook for Christmas this year. We drove by Taste of China and saw they were open so we decided to give them a try. I just dropped in so no pre order. I got the General's chicken, cashew chicken, and hot & sour soup. It took them about 10 minutes to put the order together and off I went. I could tell they were super busy, full staff in the kitchen all working hard to get food out the door. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going, never more than 2-3 of us in there. Prices everywhere have risen since the pandemic but once we dug in there was plenty of food in each container so pretty good value and we were very pleased with the taste and quality of the food. This is really more of a take out style restaurant as the decor is spartan and small. But we had good food, service and value. We liked it just fine. read more

I've been going to taste of China for 10 years now and they have not always been 100% consistent but I still think they are a good quick restaurant for pick up only. They added all white meat to the menu which was a godsend to many of their dishes. We love the hot and sour soup and buy it by the quart. read more

It's average Chinese food. Quick and friendly. We did take out and it is pretty good for the price. The egg rolls seemed to need a little more time in the fryer they were cold inside. The egg drop soup was excellent. The orange chicken was decent but the rice was a little crunchy. I think it was just an off night in the kitchen. We will try it again. read more

Ordered delivery here for the first time tonight. Timely, great delivery guy. Restaurant gave us a 2ltr upgrade because they were out of Diet Pepsi 20oz at no additional charge. Food was good for this kind of place. I think all these places shop the same vendors. The Crab Rangoon was good, as was the friend rice. General Tso and Cashew Chicken found their way into my belly. I've tried this place twice, they're the only delivery Chinese place that I can find in Shawnee. The first time they shorted me on my order. I should have told them to refund the missing portion of it, instead they convinced me they'd have the rest to me right away. An hour and a half later I finally had the rest. Both times I ordered something fried, and both times it was over cooked. I don't know if something like their lo mein is any good, but out of a large order of sweet and sour shrimp last night there were maybe 4 edible pieces, the rest were burned to a dark brown crisp. Same with their crab rangoon, there's a small edible portion that had cream cheese, and I do mean small. The convenience of delivery isn't worth the terrible quality of the food when I can just drive a few minutes down to Grand Wok over by Target, they have some of the best Chinese food I've ever had, I just wish they delivered. read more

The food is always delicious and you get a very generous portion of everything that you order. The fried rice is the best I have ever had and the sweet and sour chicken is mouth watering. This is probably the worst chinese I have ever had. I ordered, crab rangoon(6) beef and broccoli combo, sesame (White chicken) combo, and wonton (meat). I'll start by saying, my sesame chicken was orange, not brown. The chicken tasted like it was heated up in the microwave along with the rest of the food. My wontons were hard as a rock. My chicken was all clumped together in a wad. The eggroll tasted like month old cabbage. It had a horrible stench to it... I was also told the little bottles of pop are 20oz. They were 16.9oz. I understand that when stuff gets delivered it takes a little while to get their. But I am very experienced in food and how it's made and how long it lasts. My food was not only wrong, it was microwaved. Hands down. Food doesn't turn hard from a delivery. It turns hard from a microwave. I even tipped the guy 10 bucks. I paid 54 dollars(tip included) for food I wouldn't even give to my dog. I'll never in my life eat this place again. My team decided to order out for lunch today and give this place a try. Our total came to $33.07 which isn't bad for 4 people. Our food came an hour and a half later, it was cold, missing items, and had the wrong items. We promptly called the restaurant back and they said they wouldn't do anything besides give us a $10 credit to the phone number we ordered from. We explained that this wasn't right since we ordered $33.07 and it is a $20 minimum for delivery. He said fine $15, I then explained the situation again and how now it is way passed our lunch break and that we just want our money back. 4 hours later a guy came in and gave us a $20, said that is all he is going to do then walked out. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! We ordered and got the wrong delivery. When we called up to tell them we are highly allergic to shrimp and we did not order the food we were given, the man on the phone (who I assume is the owner) proceeded to tell us we were wrong and then called us LIARS repeatedly on the phone. Telling us too bad and that is what we were stuck with. He told us that the kitchen was closed (when there was still 15 mins till they were closed) and would not send us the right food. I find these people's business practices highly unethical and feel it is my duty to let others know. I called to place an order for delivery over the phone and was planning on paying by check as someone hacked into my debit card and I was in the process of sorting that out. I suppose I should/could have asked if they accepted checks prior to delivery but did not so upon arrival of my food I attempted to pay the guy with the check, at that point he told me they do not take them. He asked if I had a debit card and I explained the situation but gave it to him to try anyway since he was so insistent on that method of payment. Meanwhile my four year old is in the background asking for the food so while he calls the restaurant, I started to serve my son. He informs me that my card was declined and I asked him what he wanted me to do. I offer him a check again and he says "if there's no money on the card there is no money in account" so I said what would you like I do? He said "I will need the food back" so I literally took it off my son's plate and gave it back to him. We are talking about a $17 order here. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER order from them, no I didn't taste the food, and I do understand they are running a business, but the way they handled the situation from start to finish has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This place is the standard american style chinese restaurant. The service is fast even though ordering can some times be complicated because a lot of the staff have very thick accents. The few dishes I've tried taste exactly like you think they should... just like all the neighboring american style chinese restaurants.
