Not really sure how this was their first option offered, unless drinking your drink and having boba on the side is something that's common. This is my favorite Tastea to go to. They always make my drink correctly and the boba is always perfect, not too soft, not too firm. My go-to is the Peach Me Sweetea with basil seeds and honey boba (I prefer the black tea over green tea.) Best of all the staff is polite and patient so it really tops of the experience. read more

Got the avocado avalanche and some other drink a few weeks ago. They were okay. Not good, not bad. For me, I prefer more ice in my drinks and I thought both were a little too sweet though not inedible. From reading the reviews on yelp, it seems like one or two employees are messing up people's orders on purpose. Maybe the owner should place a hidden camera to see who's responsible for driving customers away. I've had too many of these unwanted instances happened to me everywhere that there's no way they're all coincidences. My friend worked at the pizza place before and his coworker told him that he'd spit on a pizza and made it for customers if he doesn't like them. Parking here is difficult. So many stores in such a small plaza. Very small establishment inside. Some seats against the wall, a table or two. Couple more tables outside. I'm a HUGE fan of basil chicken and I have to say, Tastea's is my favorite! I got their Karate chicken, level 3 spicy, with weak sauce. It was delicious! My SO and I each got our own order because we didn't want to share. As for drinks, I got the Peach Me Freezie and the SO got the Taro Milk Tea. They were both very tasty! TASTEA IS LIFE. The first time I had Tastea was at the 626 night market, and I thought it sucked. My boyfriend made me give the actual store a try, and ever since, I have been hooked. Please open one in San Gabriel. Please please please! There are a gazillion and one boba shops in SoCal, but there are only so many of those that actually put real fruit into their drinks. And of those select few, Tastea takes the cake. I have tried several of their drinks, but my boyfriend and I always end up getting Peach Me Sweet Tea with lychee jelly and less ice. Whether we get the regular or large size is up to how full we felt for the day LOL They even offer a jug "party size" for their drinks. But let's be real, I could finish it all by myself....and I definitely have considered purchasing it. If you are as obsessed as I am, do yourself a favor and get yourself a rewards card thing. Whoa, 1st impression was "Toooooo huge for me!" =P Now, the biggest reason I chose this was b/c I love how Tastea uses fresh fruit, & that way I'd get my serving of fruit during my mundane afternoon lol. That's why I typically eschew the "fruit" counterparts whenever I'm in a thirsty mood. Taste, however, was what disappointed me, to be brutally sincere. When I think of "smoothie," I automatically assume that it'll be mixed w/ yogurt or some dairy product to give that rich & creamy texture. The Two to Mango Smoothie was extremely more of "Slush" than its namesake...And b/c I didn't consider this a smoothie, this perfectly blended & refreshing drink (On the plus side!) left of w/ that weird, raw aftertaste on my bitter region of my tongue from the blended mango =\. Plus, I thought this drink was too sweet of me, & therefore I could only manage to imbibe 1/2 of it. Nevertheless, this will require a 2nd trip! More of a Togo location compared to Rowland heights and Costa Mesa. With a few seats to wait for orders and a photo machine. Drinks for the most part is good, not too bad of a wait and consistency. The drinks large is huge! Two drinks for $12 isnt bad forthe size but still pricey. Tried many drinks and end up happy each time. The Food is delicious from what I can remember. Okay.... now for the low rating. Customer service is really important to me and it makes anything taste much better. Last time (about one year ago) it was unpleasant with the service but we shrugged it off, thinking it was a bad day. After yeaterday, it will be the last time we step foot in this plaza or anywhere near this one as possible. We noticed we forgot to get the stamp card so headed back to ask them for one. The gentleman said " no, we don't have stamp cards." Stood there puzzled till he started to ask his other coworkers " is there anymore stamp cards?". Wait, what? One person said yes they are at the bottom, which he got one out and tried to hand it to us. I asked if we were going to get points for this purchase.. he said no. I have only been to Tastea twice, first visit possibly 2-3 years ago, and my second visit being yesterday, but I think it has greatly improved since my initial visit. I remember a few years ago I didn't really like it and thought it was overhyped, but after going last night I like it better now! I think Tastea is different than most other boba places because I feel like their drinks are much more fresh and fruity, and better quality. The ingredients for many of their drinks are fruit-based as opposed to powders and whatnot that other places generally tend to use. They also have some other drinks that aren't fruit-related, such as their mocha, and when I went most of my friends got their mocha drinks and agreed that they were really good! I also really liked how there was a wide range of drink sizes. I wasn't really in the mood for boba yesterday so I almost considered not getting anything, but I found out that they have a mini size which is literally like half the size of a normal sized drink. Perfect for anyone who just wants to have a small taste of a drink but doesn't want to overdo it! However, I do think they should call their normal sized drink something else. The regular is called "Gigantic" which sounds...huge. My boyfriend was like lolwut when the cashier repeated his order back and said he had ordered one, lol. The reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because: 1) LONG LINE. Fortunately they've got the line sectioned off so that it's pretty orderly and there aren't a ton of people standing around in the small space that they have. 2) MISSING BOBA: I ordered my drink with boba and unfortunately it did not come with any. Not a big deal, but it did cost extra so that's annoying. My friend who goes there on a regular basis said they've forgotten her boba a few times as well. Ok...one word to describe this place. Maybe two or three. OMG!! I so love this place. Thank you to some of my yelp friends down in SoCal that recommend and insist that I try this place out. Since then, I haven't stop making repeated stops to get my tastea obsession. Thank you Anthony N. for suggested this place. It is the bomb! I love that it is in the heart of Little Saigon. A place I love to eat and visit but not so much to live. No pun intended. My heart will forever be in San Francisco. I love that they have so many flavors and ways to concoct such a delicious tea with all the little tid bits. One of my favorite is the Peach me sweet tea. It has all the right elements to a tasty and thirst quenching drink. There are so many other flavors that I also love. I can never have just one when I am down in SoCal. It is that good. I just wished they have it down or I should say up where I live in the Northern Bay Area. The closest thing to Tastea that is close to me is Tpumps. It is good but Tastea is better. YAYY...not really...People usually come to Tastea to get their drinks and get out. There's barely any space for you and your friends to sit and chill and hang out like at Quickly up in the Bay. What's their best drink you might ask? Personally, I think the Mango All The Way is the best boba here. It has all sorts of boba and jellies in it, and the slush is quiet juicy and delicious. I tried their frutti tutti....that shit is not worth $4 bucks. You can finish the tutti frutti within a minute or two because they give you a bunch of ice so that you really don't get much of the drink. The kids that work here are friendly, nice, and upbeat. I have a friend that works here, but she never hooks it up. Oh wells. I have yet to try other drinks here...but for now...I'm going to stick to my MANGO ALL THE WAY. There are 5 cup size options for you to choose from: Hotness - because you are too HOTT Mini - SO CUTE and to accommodate little kids or if you feel mini today Gigantic (regular size) - now the sizes are getting off and a bit confusing Even more (large size) - you know you want more for your tastebudsss! Partea Jug (OH MY GAWD) - if even more does not satisfy you then the jug is for you! This will probably last you for weeks (HAHA). Tastea provides lots of drink varieties from hot drinks, cold drinks (teas, smoothies, and slushies), and others. You are welcome to do add-ons for your drinks which will cost $0.50 each. They also offer some snacks (which I still have to try) such as crispy chicken, french fries, shaved ice. My personal favorites: Karamel Kadabra - the mixture of the caramel, shaved ice, milk, egg pudding, and black magic is delicious...it is like a shaved ice drink TOGO! Avocado Avalanche - if you love avocado try this drink (: so good! Peach Me Sweetea - LOVE sweet tea and the combo of peach bits makes it twice as good! Lychee Peachee - peach black tea with lychee bits...mmmm!!! Since it's extreme summer weather now here in the Bay and more importantly...ever since my crazy new fitness lifestyle change I find myself daydreaming about all sorts of sugar-filled goodies and a nice, refreshing Tastea boba drink does float above my head quite often. I miss all the great boba spots in SoCal...NorCal doesn't know the bizzz when it comes to boba, thats fo sho. But that's okay...cuz that helps keep my bootay away from the temptation! When I come back for my OC visit this summer, I'ma definitely see if I can squeeze in a cup or 2 of Tastea's dranks in my cheat meals. I miss the originality of their menu. Can I just say that their Peach me Freezie with Honey Boba is AMAZING?!?! I don't think I've ever tasted anything like it! If you think that this is another ordinary boba place, you're kinda wrong...I mean they still have the regular drinks but they have a lot of cool different flavors as well. The staff is fairly friendly and the place itself is small, there aren't may tables but a long bench everybody sits on while they wait for their order. It gets really crowded and packed easily. For me, I don't really hang around boba places, I just get my drink and go so the space doesn't really bother me. However, when its crowded and you're waiting for your drink, it gets a little tough when there's barely any standing room...They also have a cute little photo booth inside and you can send the pictures to your email which is cute haha The parking lot can be a bit of a problem as well, its located in a really busy plaza and parking spaces are scarce. Otherwise, it definitely hits the spot during a hot summer day in SoCal that's forsure. read more

I STILL default to this place for boba when i'm anywhere near the area. WATERMELON HEAVEN My absolute favorite here. Pure watermelon, mashed and thrown in with ice. yummmy yummy so refreshing. OH LA LA I make my friends get this drink to pair with my watermelon so that i can have both. The mango is amazing, and so is the coconut and pineapple. MILK TEA So good here as well. It was the first thing i got here. SUAVE VANILLA LATTE This was one of the original drinks, and i haven't had it in awhile. Tastes like a light blended mocha, but lighter. Delicious. I wanted to try something new so I ordered the mango all the way. It was pretty good and fresh. I like how the drinks always has bits of the fruits. My brother wanted food so we ordered the butt load of fries and the popcorn chicken. It took an it long we than the drinks because they make when ordered. The fries came out and it was drenched in their seasoning. I don't remember it being this drenched. It was a bit salty for my taste. I had to use ketchup just to lessen the saltiness. The popcorn chicken was pretty good but there were more batter pieces than chicken. Overall, It's one of my favorite boba places to go to for something fruity. Dang, this is the best fruity tea I've ever tried! I ordered strawberry tea with tapioca, and I was surprised to find real strawberries in it! Yes, this tea was actually infused with real fruit instead of just syrup. It was both very refreshing and flavorful. I wish I lived in SoCal so that I could try everything on their menu. I think I might be biased because this was my first drink after a long 6 hour drive where I drove the whole way. I've been going to this location more than a decade and their customer service and food has never disappointed me till recently. A buddy of mine ordered 2 medium spicy popcorn chicken a few nights ago and for some reason it had a weird kick. Couldn't tell since there was so much spiciness on the chicken. For the last few days was horrible due to food poisoning from that. I called them up to let them know that the chicken wasn't right. Glad it didn't get worse for my buddy and I or we would've been in the hospital for worse conditions. All they can give us is a coupon card and sadly enough that I won't take that.
