It's been a long time since I've been here. I ordered the lychee peachee drink and my friends ordered the mango all the way and lychee freeze. They were all very good and refreshing. I'm glad I didn't add any boba to my drink because the lychee bits were more than enough. Glad this place is still consistent with its flavors and taste.
Stopped by in the evening and was impressed by the large selection of drinks--definitely a lot to choose from. This was my first time at a Sharetea location, and I felt a little overwhelmed by the menu, so I had a few questions. Unfortunately, the staff experience left a lot to be desired. The person at the register was chatting with someone who seemed to be off-shift but still hanging around. They noticed me waiting but didn't acknowledge me and continued their chatting until I finally interrupted to ask for help. It didn't feel welcoming at all. When our drinks were ready, a different staff member called my name, shoved the drinks at us on the counter without a word or a smile, didn't even look up at us, and walked away, and chucked the straw at us too. It came off as cold and unprofessional. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the whole interaction felt like we were an inconvenience. The drinks themselves were okay, but the service really soured the experience. With so many boba spots around and across the street, I don't think I'll be coming back here.
This spot is consistently solid! There isn't anything crazy special about Tastea, but I am never disappointed here. I've tried the pandan milk tea, peach me sweet tea, and popcorn chicken recently. Pandan Milk Tea: Really yummy! The pandan flavor is really strong, and the jelly it comes with is a good texture and also light enough to go well with it. VERY sweet so make sure to get it a lot less sweet if you normally drink things lighter. Peach Me Sweet Tea: This is the drink I usually get - it is the perfect balance fruity while still having a strong tea flavor. Popcorn Chicken: So crunchy which I like, but the chicken pieces are pretty small. A little steep in price for how much you get also. My spice tolerance is really bad, but I think mild works pretty well with the chicken! Overall a great spot for drinks, but I would usually hold off on their food unless I am really craving it. Their drinks in general also lean sweet, and a 50% sweet here is about an 80% sweet for other boba shops. Service is quick and the workers are so nice. There is also plenty of seating for hanging out/studying!
Tastea has some of the best boba place meals/appetizers I've had. Their honey boba I argue is better than regular boba, and their appetizers (most specifically the jujutsu box) is amazing. The service however... not great. It took over 20 minutes for me to get my food and drink. Also, the worker ignored me when I asked her a question regarding allergies. (I waited around 10 minutes before saying something... she acknowledged me with eye contact and didn't say anything else) Otherwise, the place is pretty nice. A few tables to sit at and there is a restroom. Although you need to order something if you want access to the restroom. But in general, pretty much a regular boba spot.

I had been here once a long time ago and saw they had a Thai matcha milk tea I needed to try The space smells sooo good with some tables and chairs available and a clear space to order then pick up drinks I LOVE that they offer stevia as a sweetener option and don't know any other boba place that has that option which is super cool! The matcha milk tea was good but not amazing but the honey boba was so soft and chewy in the best way, regardless will definitely be coming back to try more items
Giving this spot a 3.5 out of 5. We ordered the Strawberry specialtea with boba, 50% sugar, large size. The tea itself was decent, and the sugar level felt just right. The boba was green, which was unexpected, but it actually tasted good and had a nice texture. That said, the menu didn't really impress. It took a while to figure out what to get because nothing really stood out or appealed to my taste. We ended up going with something simple because nothing else looked particularly exciting. Prices also felt a bit high for what you get. The store itself was messy. All the tables were dirty, and there was trash on the floor. It didn't feel like cleanliness was a priority. Service was quick, which was good, but the baristas were extremely loud. Their conversations made it hard to place our order, even though there was only one other group inside. The volume in there made the space feel way more packed than it was. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in the area and want something simple, but I'd probably try other boba spots next time.
After fasting for over 16 hours to get my blood drawn, I decided to stop by Tastea, which is not too far from the 15 freeway. May not be the best thing to put in my body as a first meal, but it was already 1:30pm. I was hangry and my state of mind had been altered. The first thing that caught my eye was the banana coffee or matcha poster. So, I went with a small - 20 oz iced banana coffee non dairy creamer. Customizing the sweetness and type of milk (almond, oat, or non dairy) is a plus! For snack, I chose the regular size karate chicken with a spice level of 1 - "mild but wild". It had the right amount of heat without compromising the flavor. It also includes a dipping sauce with the choice of weak sauce (sweet chili), ranch or ketchup. The place is clean and inviting. It was empty when I first arrived and quickly got busy as I left so I cannot comment as to how loud it can get. I didn't have to wait too long for my food and drink. Drink came out fast and waited for chicken which was like less than 5 minutes in all... I think. Price is comparable. Shout out to Charlise for the kind attentive service. There's a variety of drink flavors to choose from and a few yummy snacks to select. I'll definitely come back to try more items. Thank you and stay strong
I've always thought that Tastea had one of the best popcorn chicken flavors in town. Today I got the chicken & calamari. Pros: - Great seasoning - Love that they included the crispy little pieces in the chicken - I think the weak sauce is just sweet chili? but it's delicious! Cons: - Ordered extra basil and it's supposed to be fried but they weren't - Spice levels are a bit inconsistent - Usually when we get mild, it has a bit of heat. This time, it had almost none, making me wish I got medium. However, if I order medium next time, it may be tooooooo spicy if it's inconsistent.
The drink I've ordered was as good as it looked from the Yelp pics that were previously uploaded. Thank you, fellow Yelpers! Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($5 reg./20 oz): nutty, refreshing, creamy, strong espresso flavor, and I've felt the caffeine with only two sips, 9/10. This tasted similar to K Sandwiches version; although, I appreciate the 20 oz size here, as other spots provide less. I may order the 32 oz next time because it was that "tastea." The service was rapid, as I was too with the consumption of my beverage. read more
My first time trying Tastea was the OC location! So happy that they opened up a location here. The line wasn't too busy and the drinks came out in less than 6 minutes. I forgot how sweet these drinks were, as I got the Matcha Thai Tea with Honey Boba. I think if you're sensitive to sweetness get half or less sweetness because these are really sweet. I really like the consistency and creaminess of their drinks. read more

Got the Lychee Peachee with boba. Only thing I didn't like about it was the lychee bits - I think I got confused between real lychee bits and lychee jelly. Other than that everything else about what I got was really good! I love the taste of it and would definitely order again without the lychee bits. I swear Tastea has the best chewy boba in San Diego, one of my favorite boba places for sure. It was a little softer than usual this time around but still good. I also love that you can substitute for Stevia as a healthier option. You can even still adjust the sweetness with the Stevia option. read more

For my lactose intolerant girlies, Tastea is the place for you. They offer oat milk and almond milk for FREE! Unheard of and totally awesome. Their commonly loved boba drinks are very good but I also love the many creative drink options too like Pinaberry Chamoy. The drinks are very good, get oat milk if you want your drink creamier. The boba is always so chewy and fresh. Service is friendly and there's about 4-5 tables inside with outlets for those looking to get some work done (albeit it's a bit loud inside). We were in the area and decided to try this spot recommended by my sis in law. Thought is was good and not sweet. The pearl was very soft and chewy and how cute that it was green just like their logo color. Service was quick and we were in and out. They also have a point system where you can earn every visit. I've heard lots of praise about Tastea from my friends in the LA area, so now that I've moved down to SD I decided to see what the hype is all about. Two things I love are matcha and Thai tea, so when I saw they had a drink that combined both I knew I had to get it. It was absolutely delicious. The matcha really mellowed down the sweetness from the Thai tea, and added a floral aftertaste to each sip. I'd definitely recommend this drink if you are a fan of Thai tea and matcha flavored drinks! read more
Been here quite a few times and didn't think of leaving a review until now. The drinks are good sometimes, I said sometimes cause they r very inconsistent. I guess with high turnover rate of staff, this is what happens. It's also so hard to hire staff these days. Gotta commend the staff though. They r always nice and friendly. I really like their milk teas but they can overly sweet even when I ask for half sugar. Vietnamese coffee is also delicious. I don't normally have much to say about boba drinks but Tastea has caught my attention. They've always stayed consistent with their quality. I've tried several drinks including Peach Me Sweetea and Watermelon Heaven, and all of them I would recommend trying. Last time we went, we showed up a bit late for our drinks after ordering online. So when we got there, the Watermelon Heaven looked very melted and sad. The employee there took one look at it and told us he'd be able to make us a new one on the spot. I was okay with just taking the melted one because it was our fault, but Tastea wowed us with how much they value their customers. We got the drink remade with no additional charge, and we're still smiling to this day just thinking about this kind gesture. read more
We came here around 9:15 pm on Monday night. There were a lot of people getting drinks here (because school is out?) There were very limited sit down space near Tastea so we ended up going across the parking lot to get seated after we got the drinks. I ordered the small (20z) Ube milk tea with honey boba. James got classic milk tea with honey boba. For some reason the honey boba looked green in the tea. It was chewy but more to the soft chewy side. Ube milk tea tasted like Ube powder. I don't know what else was I expecting... I won't order Ube flavor again Classic milk tea definitely tasted classic (or you can call it basic cause it tasted like any other regular milk tea). There are days when the boba cravings are so extreme that we end up going more than once! With so many flavors to choose from, it never gets boring! If you like strong coffee and need that extra caffeine punch, might I suggest the House Special Vietnamese Slow Drip Coffee with condensed milk and foam? I like mine 50% sweet with grass jelly. If you are in serious need of caffeine and need the extra boost, you have the option to add extra espresso shots. If you get honey boba, then you may want to reduce the sugar level to 30%, as the honey boba and condensed milk may be a bit too sweet. I do not normally like my drinks too sweet, so if you like your drinks on the sweeter side, by all means, go for that extra sugar! Just a note that they've been out of green tea for 2 weeks now, so if this is your go-to drink, you may be disappointed. My daughter normally gets the green milk tea with honey boba, so she has had to get other tea flavors for the time being. They have an app that makes ordering fast and convenient, with minimal contact. You also have the option to order in-store and wait outside for your drinks. Download the Tastea app and start accumulating points towards your next reward. They also give a $5 birthday credit when you are a rewards member, and it's good for up to 2 weeks after your birthday. I just redeemed mine. Want some snacks to to with your chicken? There are a few options such as chicken and fries. I have not tried the food here, but will one of these days. The interior is very clean and service is friendly. This is a regular spot for us. read more
I love Tastetea and it's one of the few boba places with their own app and reward point system. You can order from the app and your drink is ready in 5 minutes usually. THE HONEY BOBA IS A GAME CHANGER! So delicious! I usually go for the Strawberry Sensation Milk Tea but the Peach Me Sweetea is a great drink if you want flavor without the dairy. Definitely need to try some other drinks for giggles but this visit was a huge success read more
Hooray for online ordering! It's super convenient to place your order in their app before heading over. Also, bonus thing with the app is you often can get free samplers which is fun to try their new drinks (although I wish you could adjust the sugar levels). I enjoy their fruity teas here - specifically the bootea shaker (my go-to). It's a mango, peach, and pineapple black tea with grass jelly. I get it less sweet and it's perfect. For the milk teas, I like the golden milk tea over the classic milk tea - not sure the difference the golden one tastes better and more familiar to me from other places. I've tried the fries and shrimp several times but have come to the conclusion that I don't really like the sweet seasoning. I'll stick to the drinks and get food nearby. They also have 2 drink sizes and they are very different in size! 20oz is already larger than many other places and considered the large elsewhere, but here you can get a whopping 32oz! I love that basically every plaza in Mira Mesa has a boba shop. This is my second time here. The first time I got the Classic Milk Tea and it was well made so now I'm back. This time, trying the matcha Thai tea. I could taste the blend of matcha, Thai tea and the milk. All the flavors were there. I did less ice and 75% sweet. Perfect combo. read more

Food: Or should I say drinks. Our go-to for boba because the quality is superb here. The tea is great, the boba has great texture, and there are milk and sugar options. Basically tried everything on the menu at this point. Our recommendations comprise Peach Me Sweet Tea, Bootea Shaker, The Unknown, Coconut Coffee, Wintermelon Milk Tea (MT), Strawberry MT, Tiger MT, Taro Fantasy, Avocado Avalanche, Cantaloupe Crush, and Watermelon Heaven. The food is alright, not bad if you want food and are already here - chicken and fries with weak sauce and ranch; spicy is not that spicy also. Service: Mainly do app purchases to mitigate long wait times. But the workers have been respectful. However there are quite a few times where the ETA was wrong and had to wait up to 30 minutes for our drinks. Atmosphere: A table and few chairs outside to enjoy your drink with friends. Tastea is one of my favorite boba chains. Their drinks and boba are consistently tasty and high quality. I am very picky about boba, and their boba and honey boba have an amazingly fresh texture and flavor. Sometimes their boba is even too soft, if you prefer an extra squishy pearl. My favorite drink is the honeydew milk tea. I love that they offer non dairy creamer as the standard "milk" along with other options such as oat milk. I also greatly enjoy their strawberry milk tea, classic black milk tea, mango milk tea, and assorted fruit teas. They have a huge menu with a wide variety of options such as smoothies and coffee. I have only ever been disappointed by the strawberry matcha latte, but that could have been a one off thing. The prices are decent, and they even offer a whopping 32oz option alongside the regular 20oz cup. Though this unfortunately is the only location in San Diego, the large parking lot and nice selection of other Asian eats nearby make the trip worthwhile. Tastea also has a great rewards program in their app where I regularly get discounts despite not going very regularly. Tastea is definitely a must-try for boba lovers. read more

I have yet had Tastea and wanted to give it a try since I was in the area. I stopped by on Wednesday afternoon and it was relatively slow. I ordered the Strawberry Milk Tea w/boba and it came out to about $6. I was asked to wait outside for my order, which took about 5 minutes. The drink was a bit on the sweeter side and the boba was still warm - a bit weird but that's okay. I liked that it had strawberry chunks in it. Overall, the drink was just okay and didn't really wow me. read more

The worst milk tea I had in awhile... usually with the competitive environment you don't get bad milk teas at well known establishments... but mine was really bad. I normally like tastea. And I usually get classic milk tea with boba and saw they had cheese foam, so I got it. I got that with medium sugar... and the whole "milk tea" was mostly milk. It tasted like milk only, where's the tea?? The cheese foam was also flat and had no cheesy flavor like R&B Teahouse. The color was also very light, meaning it was all just milk. I basically paid $5ish for a 16oz cup of milk. It was so bad I drank 1/8 of it and threw it away. Maybe less milk and more or some tea?? read more

When they first opened, the quality of the drinks were really good & the employees were nice every time, however the quality of both the drinks and customer service has both gone down since. I always get the strawberry mt from tastea and I had to ask them to remake it 3 times since the first time was way too sweet. So I went back again to ask them to remake it for me & I made sure to let them know that I always get it in the same exact order and that I know it isn't right (strawberry mt with nondairy creamer + condensed milk, medium sweet, less ice, honey boba) So the girl remade it and the second time it was obviously wrong and you can just tell from the color , and the strawberry bits weren't even in it (they're supposed to be in the drink). How are you going to remake a drink that was brought back and remake it worse?? So I tasted that and it literally tasted like their jasmine green milk tea but watered down lol it wasn't even the usual pink color... but I was way too embarrassed to go back in and ask again. So I went back into my car and I let my boyfriend taste it too (he knows my order and what it's supposed to taste like) and he told me it's definitely wrong too. it was just really frustrating that I asked them to remake it for me and the second time they remade it it was even worse lmao. And the girl was giving me attitude when I brought the drink back, asking them nicely to remake it for me because it's not made correctly. When my boyfriend went back to ask for the THIRD time in which they finally got it right, the girl that made the drink threw the straw at him. Sooo rude when none of us gave them attitude, I promise we were asking nicely. Anyways, It's really disappointing to see how the business has changed since they first opened. Even after that happened, I decided to give them one more shot and ordered my usually strawberry milk tea, however I was let down once again. They put wayy too much condensed milk - it was literally all I could taste in the drink. I didn't even bother to go back and ask for a remake that time so I had a few sips and had to toss it out :( Haven't gone back since. There are only so many boba tea places in San Diego that any "bad" boba stands out. Went here a few weeks about with the beau. The first thing I noticed was a group of people (loitering?) outside the tea shop. A meet-up. In the middle of a pandemic. Anyway- We ordered and I had the Peach Me Sweetea, while my bf slurped a Peach Me Freezie. His was a galaxy better than mine! I took a few sips and the disappointment was immediate. I remember thinking how distasteful the floating, gelatanous bits were in the drink, and how annoyed I was since this was bf's and I's first time at a Tastea! Sadly, I ended up throwing it out of the trash can in the Jersey Mike's next door! I still had to wait for my bf to order and receive his food from Jersey Mike's, so my brain thought it was a grand idea to otder ANOTHER DRINK. I thought to myself that the Peach Me Sweetea must've been a fluke, so on my second round, I ordered their Tiger Milk Tea. Was it better? Yes, because I like milk-based teas more, lol, but it wasn't mindblowing or spectacular in the sense of the word. So, yes, subpar experience taste-wise for my first time here. Other than that, I dig the green aesthetics they have going on; the staff was also decent and helpful (as it should be). I would likely come back here again but will steer clear of the Peach Me Sweetea (and possibly other simiarly-based teas) in hopes that my update on this review will garner another star. read more

Date of most recent visit: December 15, 2020 I've been a fan of Tastea for quite some time now - mainly because of their online and app deals, like today's where if you bought any milk tea, you get a deal for a free hot milk tea on a separate date. I needed to get a small caffeine boost, so I placed an advance order after work for a 20 ounce Pumpkin Pie Milk Tea with non-dairy creamer, half Stevia, and added creme brûlée ($5.35, before tax). My drink was ready by the time I got there... well, almost ready as they'd forgotten the creme brûlée in the drink. Not too much of a problem, as the server got a fresh cup, added the creme brûlée, poured my drink into the new cup, and added a fresh topping of foam and nutmeg before sealing it. (Hey, it's going into the same place, anyway.) My drink turned out just fine after all that... On previous visits, I've had both the Karate (karaage) Chicken and Shrimp on It! appetizers; what I like is that you can customize the spice levels on them. They're both good, but I like the shrimp a bit more as it seems like it's a meatier portion. Definitely coming back, as the rewards add up! read more

I always love when there are new boba additions to San Diego! The Tastea here is located next to CVS and there is a large parking lot in a shared plaza. The shop itself is pretty tiny, so it can get a little crowded when trying to practice social distancing. The traffic here is so HEAVY wow this place is busy. Expect to either spend forever waiting in line or forever waiting for your drink. This is the biggest downside to this location, because it simply does not seem like they can manage the customer and order load, so they should just hire more people. If I order with the Tastea app, it takes at least 10-15 minutes longer to get the drink than they predict. As for the drinks, I really like their Pumpkin pie milk tea and the Matcha Thai Milk tea. Both are super unique and creamy! I also appreciate that they don't skimp on giving you the tea when you ask for no ice. In terms of their jasmine milk tea and their tiger milk, these are definitely not their best menu items and you can find better tasting versions of these drinks at other boba places. All in all, I can't wait to keep trying more drinks on their extensive menu! read more

First time coming here the quality was just okay and I was trying out a few drinks to see what I like. I'm a milk tea person so I found that my favorite is their Golden Milk Tea with their honey boba. For non milk teas I like their Bootea Shaker. Their boba is not green currently but should still be the same texture and sweetness as the honey boba! I loved my drink this time and it was super milky and creamy. Service was fast and some of their teas might not be offered anymore such as the Jasmine Sunrise. read more

Kinda bummed the quality of Tastea is at a decline. The boba isn't fresh and I feel as if I am getting cheated out of my money by receiving a drink with a lot of ice. I used to enjoy the avocado smoothie because I think it is one of the few drinks one can get that isn't powder or syrup based. However, the avocado smoothie was to "icy" for me. read more

Do they only have green boba or can you get regular colored boba instead?
Hi Claire, both of our boba is typically our signature green color. However, right now we have orange and brown boba in the spirit of fall and Halloween. Hope this helps!
If i order a thai tea with nondairy milk will it still have dairy (in the thai tea mix/powder)?
No dairy . Just the powder . You will have to ask for non dairy while ordering to confirm . I'm lactose as well and I always have to ask for non -dairy . I'm glad they have that option available . Sadly lots of boba shops are starting to convert…
Do they use real Taro in the taro milk tea or is it powder?
