This was totally fine by us. **Pumpkin Pie Milk Tea (hot) $5.10 for a 20 ounce. Pumpkin pie formosa black tea topped with cheese foam & a sprinkle of nutmeg. For sweetness levels, you could choose between full, medium, lite and no sweet. They also have a stevia option here and offer the same levels of full medium and lite. Pretty cool. I got the medium sweet and I loved the creamy pumpkin flavor. I can't say that I tasted the cheese foam but maybe that was the creaminess in the drink. I've been going to Tastea for a long time and everything was great before this happened. I ordered on the app back in October. When I made the first order I realized I forgot something so I ordered again right after. I also called the store right away so they could cancel the first order. When I got my drinks they said that I would be refunded. 2 weeks pass and still no refund so I go back in the store to ask about it. One of the employees said they'd text their manager about it. A month passes. Still no refund. I go back and ask about it again and the employee said that they would write my refund down in the receipt book. Another month passes and still no refund. It's currently June and at this point I've asked at least 7 times. The last time I went back to ask about the refund was in February/March because my credit card had to be replaced so I asked about how the refund was going to work if I had a new credit card. They said they'd contact their manager and till this day no refund yet. At this point I don't even care about the $15.90 I lost. I just find it frustrating that you have to fight to ask for a refund. Karate Chicken - big pieces of all white chicken, crisp exterior and tender morsels of meat. Well-seasoned and cooked with basil. Served with sweet and sour chili sauce. Got this in mild and found the heat to be a good amount. There are 5 levels of spice. The Unknown - mango and passionfruit black tea with diced lychee. I'm such a huge fan of these fruit teas especially the small fruit bits, this drink is refreshing and tropical tasting. I always opt for less sweet and the 20 oz size is more than enough! Strawberry Sensation - strawberry smoothie with strawberry bits. Got this drink as a recommendation from the staff here for a smoothie type drink, the strawberry flavor is okay ... not artificial but a very sweet strawberry puree base. It's a bit one dimensional in terms of flavor, but for you strawberry lovers you might like this one. Service here seems consistently fast among their locations. They blow other boba shops out of the water in terms of efficiency and speed. I've tried a lot of boba places having lived in San Jose all my life and then moving to Irvine. Tastea remains to be one of my top boba places because of its consistency of drinks and yummy honey boba. It's the same consistency at all their locations which I greatly appreciate. Their fries and karate chicken are also superior to any tea house you will prob ever try. Milky drinks I recommend: taro, wintermelon (if you have tried Ding Tea in SoCal, it's similar to this, but not as strong of an aroma), almond, honeydew, matcha thai (BEST DRINK EVER!! So obsessed) Whenever I try new boba places, I always get their matcha selection and I'm always thinking tastea does matcha way better. The matcha coffee is also good but I am not a coffee person; however if you are, please get it! I also love that they use non-dairy creamer as their default. Fruity drinks I recommend: PMT always is a good choice if you're looking for a more light and refreshing drink. Their slushies are also yummy but a little too sweet for my taste. Use the app to order your drinks for pick-up! I've had pretty good experiences with pick-up times. You just go to the pick-up window and say your name and you're on your way. Only thing I do have to say about this location is, there is a girl worker who I picked up drinks from yesterday around 630 pm who gave unnecessary sass and some eye rolling. What did I do? TASTEA has the best honey boba that I have had. However, their service here isn't that great. They give you the option of ordering it through their app and they'll give you an ETA. Their time ETA is NEVER correct. They'll say it is ready in about 10 mins and during all the times I have been here, it has always been longer than 20-30 mins. I would understand if the wait time was a few mins off but a whole 10-20 mins off? That's ridiculous. The drinks: still good. However, the jasmine milk tea can taste very bland sometimes. Don't get the hype... We ordered the lychee peachee and the bootea shaker. I said 50% sweet and my sister ordered 70% sweet, but I noticed the receipt says "medium sweet." That doesn't make any sense, how could they both be medium sweetness? And if the case is that there's only 3 levels of sweetness, the cashiers should be trained to clarify that with the customers. I have been at other boba spots where if I say 70% and they say "sorry we only have 50, or 85%" I would appreciate that level of transparency instead. Having worked in the food industry myself, it's always best to give customers more info than less. When our drinks came out, it was extremely sweet and syrupy! Gross. I feel like I need to add water or tea to my drink because it just tastes so artificial and overwhelmingly sweet. Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Tastea and it's one of my most favorite boba shops here in SJ. Every time I come to Tastea the drinks are always great quality, as well as the service, but I can't say the same about the service I received at this location today. I came in on a Friday afternoon and tried to order my usual, which was the Green Thai Milk Tea. The girl who took my order gave me a stank face and was like "uh, what? What is that?" I then explained to her what it was and she informed me that it was discontinued. OK no worries, I'll order something else. But when it came down to paying, I attempted to pay cash, and she condescendingly said they were not providing change for cash payments. No biggie, I'll pay with card, but seriously, why the attitude? It was also a bit hard to hear each other while ordering as there were customers nearby talking pretty loud and she looked so annoyed whenever I asked her to repeat herself. But is that my fault? My drink was amazing like always but the service I received today put such a bad taste in my mouth. I'll be more than happy to drive to another location where I'll receive better service. read more

If I'm being real here, I think this Tastea is about just as great as the one on Berryessa. Out of 7 visits here, 6 of them were perfect. However, my second time here, I came with two other friends and we each got a drink. It wasn't extra busy or anything, just an average day at Tastea, yet for some reason, our drinks took about half an hour. I would have been less upset if I wasn't already in a rush. I don't know why it took so long. Not only that, when our drinks came out, my drink was wrong. I got a Bootea Shaker with Honey Boba instead of Black Jelly and they brought out a Peach Me Sweetea... that was confusing. After I told them, they fixed my drink for me and had a new one out in less than a minute, which made me wonder why it took so long the first time around LOL. I love that their app is so easy to use! It makes ordering boba during COVID-19 sooo much easier and convenient. I'm just sad that this location no longer does delivery. At Tastea, I usually get their Matcha Thai Milk Tea. Can't go wrong with the two best flavors mixed together - matcha and thai tea. I also like that they have variety of milk choices here; I'm lactose, so I usually go for the oat milk, which makes a whole difference in creaminess! Since Tastea is on the sweeter side, I usually opt for medium sweetness, so it's not overly sweet when you add the honey boba. Honestly, their honey boba is my favorite, it's so soft and chewy packed with a healthy dose of honey! Also a cute little bonus - they change up the boba colors around the holidays. I was pretty surprised to see black and orange pearls for Halloween when I ordered earlier this month LOL. Hands down, I'm so glad they brought Tastea up to the Bay Area; this was exactly what we were missing up here. There's so many unique drinks on the menu (and they're always coming up with new ones!), so you'll definitely be able to find something you enjoy. Came to this new location for their soft opening and so far, so good. I've been a fan of Tastea since going to school in socal, so I'm glad they are making a name for themselves in the bay area and opening up another location in SJ. My go-to drink is the matcha milk tea, 25% sweet, less ice, with honey boba. I didn't expect much for the soft opening if I'm being honest, but wow, they were pretty spot on with the drink. It was probably a tad bit sweeter than I'm used to, but I pretty much felt like I was drinking matcha milk tea from any other location.The boba was soft and chewy, but not at all mushy so good job on the consistency. At 8pm you might expect other boba shops to serve hard boba because they are nearing close, so I'm glad that this location did not serve subpar boba. The service was fast and efficient. From taking the orders at the registers to making the drinks, everything happened in a timely manner. If I didn't know it was their soft opening, I would've thought they had been at that location for a while. Finally, another Tastea location in the Bay Area and it's closer to home! My sisters & I wanted something refreshing, so we came here on a Friday afternoon. There wasn't a wait, so we were able to order quickly. My go to drink is the peach me sweetea (less sweet) with honey boba, so I had to order that. My sisters got the matcha thai milk tea & matcha milk tea. The peach me sweetea was good and their boba was soft and chewy! Perfect consistency to go with the tea. The location is smaller than the Berryessa location, but really can't complain since I'm just happy that we finally have one in the Evergreen area! There's plenty of parking spaces. The recommendations for me have always been their watermelon when in season, the Peach me Sweat tea and the Unknown if you like Logan fruit. Tastea has been letting me down lately:( My past two visits have not been good. First, I had their popcorn chicken and I thought the chicken was dry and not flavorful. I feel like they try to compensate for flavor by adding the heat levels but there still needs to be flavor? I got the wintermelon green milk tea though, which was fine, nothing special. The second time, I had their french fries and Peach Me Sweetea. The Peach Me Sweetea tasted super watered down, no fruit flavor at all despite me getting 100% sweet and less ice. It just tasted like slightly sweet water with fruit bits floating in it. Fortunately, the honey boba was good and had good chewy texture, but I'm not trying to drink water boba lol. The fries SUCKED. I've been here a few times since it has opened and glad to say that I'm not disappointed though there are some improvements that may be needed. The drinks that I have ordered (matcha thai MT, taro fantasy, taro MT, Ooh La La) are pretty good though I feel that the Taro milk tea is a lil' too powder-ish and that their Taro Fantasy (blended drink) taste much better. Their drinks are at 100% sweet so I get 50% which is somewhat sweet for me still, but I'm afraid to get 25% sweet as it may be too bitter. I like their popcorn chicken as it's moist with a slight crunchy crust. Not too greasy either. They dont't fry the basil leaves with the chicken which I like because it's not soaking in oil, however, today I ordered the chicken and there's no basil. Pretty good deal and it pays to be a regular. Their drinks are solid, whether you want to go with one of their classic milk teas, fruit teas, or smoothies. A bit on the expensive side, but they do give you quite a lot for the 32 oz. Now my complaint. Chicken used to be expensive. But I didn't mind paying for it, it's hard to find those types of popcorn chicken in this new day and age of boba. But it was nearly $7 for a regular and that was like ten pieces of chicken. It makes curing my cravings so much easier :') I've been trying to cut down on dairy and they do a great job at making their non-milk teas. My usual go to order is a Lychee Peachee with honey boba, and I get it with less sugar (50%) since their drinks can get pretty sweet. I like that it already comes with lychee bits, their honey boba is always so nice and chewy, and the different colored boba makes it fun. I'll occasionally order their chicken too which is really yummy--their fries on the other hand are meh. My friends and I will come here to hang out, so I like that they have tables to sit at. I came here to get a free drink for my graduation, and was denied both because my ID was from last year (I lost my student ID for this year), and because the name I put on the graduation coupon was different than on my ID card. I explained to her that my ID card deadnamed me, only for her to give me a look and then tell me she wasn't quite sure what I meant. Before I could explain anything else, she then told me that she wasn't accepting my coupon in a tone of voice that insisted for me to hurry up with my order or leave. Because I was already there and thought hey, you know what? Might as well! I decided to order a drink there, and when I got my drink, it had my deadname on the receipt. The cashier didn't ask for my name, and went out of their way to put the name on my student ID instead of my preferred name I had on the graduation coupon. Good drinks, but 1 star for service. I've been treated very poorly by who I assume is the manager (based on her lack of a uniform) twice. 1. The cashier misheard me and charged me for the wrong drink with a higher price. When the drink was brought out, I let them know that it wasn't what I had ordered, and what I had ordered was actually 50 cents cheaper. The manager then came over and asked the cashier what was wrong (without paying any attention towards me). The cashier explained that she misheard me, and the manager just went into the back, got 2 quarters and said "here you go" and dropped them into my hand. The cashier than told me that she would remake my drink. It was very bizarre how the manager didn't address or attempt to make any contact with me until plopping the extra 2 quarters down. No apology was given as well for this entire exchange. 2. I ordered a drink with honey boba for a friend. I got the drink and left to do some errands. When I sent a picture of the drink to my friend, they said that it didn't have any honey boba. I then went back to the store to tell them that I did not receive any honey boba and showed the receipt attached to the drink. The same manager as before looked at my drink and entered in the receipt number. They said "this drink was ordered 45 minutes ago". I told them "Yes, I just left to do some errands but I came back because I noticed that it didn't have any honey boba". The manager stared at me, then got a plastic cup and poured some boba in it and said "Here you go." I said "Thank you" and loaded the boba into the drink. She did not apologize or say "You're welcome". I thought she might not have heard me, so right before leaving, I said "Thanks again!", but she gave absolutely no response and I left feeling disrespected. Again, the drinks here are solid and I've never had a problem with this place before, but these rude interactions with this person/manager have left a poor taste in my mouth.
