Oakland Hidden Gem We are all about the AYCE Hotpot and this place does not disappoint. There are many restaurants for hotpot around the bay and we've been to most. This place stands out for the pricing and service. The interior of the place is nice and modern. The staffing is always around for rounds 2,3,4 and on when we needed anything. The option of soup base is great and the quality of meat is perfect. This place is not skimpy on the portion and it comes out fast. The sauce bar is my favorite, where else do you get XO sauce as an option? Did I mentioned free Boba Milk Tea? Yes, unlimited and included in the price. Lunch goes til 4p at just $25.99 and $29.99 for premium which then comes with more meat options and dim sum. Other places will end lunch hours at 2pm. Here, I can pick up my teenage kids from school and still make it here for lunch pricing. There is literally nothing I can knock on this place aside from street parking only. This place is a must eat if AYCE hotpot is your thing.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This place has changed their menu so if you haven't tried it recently I would give it another try! I used to not like it before but now that they have AYCE it's become our go-to after climbing. Great place for all you can eat hot pot open until 10:30pm. All you can eat hotpot comes with complimentary milk tea but you have to ask for it. The meat quality is pretty good and the pricing is reasonable. Soup bases are flavorful as well. We tried the satay and the pepper pork stomach soup base. They have a lot of options for sides. It did take some time to get our meat since we came it at 9pm and I believe they cut to order.

Here (again) to show some love to my favorite spot in the East Bay. I brought a couple of friends for AYCE hot pot yesterday and we had such a great dinner. They had all the TVs playing the Super Bowl and then switched to the Winter Olympics, which was perfect. I also love that there are TVs on both sides of the booths so all four of us could watch comfortably at the same time. The hot pot was delicious as always. We tried a new soup this time, the pork stomach soup, and the pieces of pork stomach were actually really good. My personal favorite is still the coconut chicken soup though. My friends were super impressed with the food and also pleasantly surprised by the free boba that comes with AYCE. I'm so glad they still offer that because it's the perfect sweet drink to balance out all the savory. We didn't even know there was a promotion going on, but when we asked for the check, the staff happily let us know and made sure it was applied. Since it was Super Bowl Sunday, one person ate free with a party of three or more. After tax and tip, it came out to about $34 per person for our group of four, which honestly feels like an absolute steal in today's economy. Loved how thoughtful and transparent the staff were about it - such a nice surprise! Such a fun, filling, and worth-it meal. We'll definitely be back and I heard they post their promos on WeChat, so I'll be keeping an eye out for those.

Love coming here for ayce hot pot! The soup bases are solid and all the ingredients are so fresh. There are even dim sum like shumai and hai how they you can order as well as complimentary boba tea that's actually legit. No complaints whatsoever. Service is always friendly and polite. Oh and great sauce bar too!

First time trying this spot and I thought it was really good! There's a lot of variety and special deals throughout the week like 10-15% off certain dishes or BOGO beer/wine. My fave things were the grilled corn, steamed surf clams and razor clams. Some steamed items come on a bed of vermicelli noodles and TONS of garlic. Must try for garlic heads. We also tried the steamed scallops and oysters, but they were ok. Not bad, but didn't stand out. They have a self-serve sauce bar since they also serve hot pot here. The variety of sauces are good, but I wish they had lemon or lime for all the seafood. You can also add a porridge at the bottom of the steam pot to catch all the seafood juice for $20! Didn't try it this time since I literally ate porridge for lunch today lol. Also, tried the fire and ice sushi roll. Pretty good if you like spicy tuna and mackerel. There's robots and human waiters and the service was friendly and fast. The waiters steamed everything in front of us which was fun.

I pass by this place a lot during my lunch walks and finally decided to give it a try. They offer lunch special mini hotpots, and each pot comes with a free drink, a choice of green tea or black tea. I was seated quickly, and the server took my order right away. The service was friendly and welcoming. Since I knew what I wanted and only had an hour for lunch, I placed my order immediately, knowing it might take some time to prepare. I had the Szechuan Spicy Pot, which came with beef, fish filet, enoki, tofu, clam, shrimp, cabbage, glass noodles, fish ball, corn, pork blood, and squid balls, and a choice of rice or noodles. The portion-wise was good, and had lots of different ingredients. But the flavor was lacking; Szechuan flavor should have the bold, numbing, and tingling sensation, but I didn't find any from this pot. My sister got the Satay Beef Pot; the flavor was spot on. So if you are craving spicy, I would not recommend getting their Szechuan Spicy Pot.

We dropped in after jury duty around 4pm on Monday. There is steam pot, happy hour (Mon-Fri 2-5 bbq foods either a soft drink or beer for $2) or AYVE hotpot shabu shabu. We decided to try the AYCE premium for $35. We got the hot & spicy soup and herbal chicken soup. We loved how there's 4 sections in the hotpot. We could cook meat in one of the same broth and drink the other clean broth. So we only got try 3 different meat slices. The Ribeye and U.S Prime beef were juicy and tender. Don't get the angus beef! It's so dry and tough. Get the shrimp paste! Soo good. We also got assorted mushrooms but there was way too much mushrooms and we couldn't finish them all. We also got watercress, fish ball with smelt roe, taro, soft tofu, pork stomach, beef tripe, bean curd sheets, squid (would skip this, it's frozen), lotus root. They also have dim sum, noodles, fries, sushi rolls on the AYCE menu. They also gave some add on seafoods for extra price if you want to splurge. The pearl milk tea is included in the AYCE. Fast service. They also have a full bar.

Restaurant is really clean and the food here was good too. I arrived a little early for my reservation but since it wasn't too busy they let me sit, order tea and watch the playoff nba. Really good service. Bring Oakland Chinatown back

Food was so delicious, great quality and price! Our server was very attentive and food came out fast. Was not super busy on a Friday night, definitely got our moneys worth! Love this little gem, plenty of street parking- definitely will be back!

Returning customer Soup bases are great, my usual is hot and spicy But have tried 3 others bases, also good Service can be a bit slow because it gets busy Themed layout with lots of space Clean and organized Food is good, comp with milk tea They have a bar, got a Rum and Coke Will be coming back again

This was my first time writing a review, and honestly, if you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. The wagyu beef truffle fried rice was incredible--I literally couldn't stop eating it. I was a bit hesitant to order sushi since it's mainly a hotpot spot, but I'm glad I did. The sushi was surprisingly fresh and really delicious.

10/10 favorite AYCE hotpot. Their boba milk tea is surprisingly good and I always get refills. Reasonably priced at $32.99 for a weekend dinner. Service is always fast and staff are attentive.

How long is the typical wait time for dinner around 6?

For how many? Best to make reservation.

Is it all you can eat?

There is an AYCE hotpot menu. Different than regular menu. We just did it this past Sat and it was good and well worth it.

We tried to go here again tonight, but we were told that it is no longer all you can eat. When did they change?

As of Dec. 2017, Tastee no longer honors the 5% Yelp check-in offer or offers AYCE. I just asked; they said they would reconsider AYCE in the summer months of 2018.

After reviewing a few hot pot places on Yelp, I chose Shabu King based on the positive reviews. I called to make a reservation. On the day of our visit, I was glad to find our table was ready at the appointed time. One of the staff explained that each person first pick a broth type, then you can request side dishes or type of meat(different cuts of beef, pork and there is also lamb). For vegetables and seafood, they have a bar area for each and you can pick from the generous selections of fresh seafood and vegetables. I was really impressed with the variety. For seafood, they have whole small octopus, sliced calamari, fish fillets, clams, mussels, whole large prawns, as well as small crab. They also have a condiment bar for you to make you own dipping sauce. Each person get their own pot, and we enjoyed many helpings throughout the evening. Sometimes it may be difficult to flag down a server, but when you do they are friendly and eager to take your order. I think their operation can be improved by having customers scan a bar code and order online as I have experienced in other AYCE places. Everyone in our party enjoyed their own customized hot pot, and we walked away with a very full belly. Will be back again when I have the craving for AYCE hot pot!

Standards are lower since it's $19.99 AYCE, so nothing to complain about for quality of meat. The spicy beef was a popular reorder. They have a huge selection in the raw ingredient bar, and we loved the quail egg, ramen, and spongey tofu. All the veggies were fresh. Top off with soft serve (chocolate, vanilla, mixed) either in a cone or to-go cup and you basically don't even need to eat dinner. Service was speedy, and our server graciously moved us from a booth to a communal table since our party of 5 was a tight squeeze in a booth. We all shared one split pot LOL I've come here for dinner before and still thought the selections were worth their price points (classic is $33.99 and deluxe is $41.99). Our favorite meats on the grill were the short ribs, garlic pork belly, and garlic brisket. Everything was fresh including the garlic. For the Hot Pot you grab items right off the revolving conveyor belt. Besides everything else (noodles, seafood, veg, and things we'd never seen) we managed to snag a bunch of tiger shrimp. The conveyor spins clockwise and we were at 1 o'clock, so before anyone else had a chance, those were in our bowls or on our plates - selfish for sure, but it still counts as a win. Drinks & Extras: All the starters and mains were delicious. (Though honestly, skip the desserts--those were pretty sub-par, but you're not here for dessert anyway!) But beware - the soju pitcher looks like a carafe of water. I poured a big glass and took a big gulp. It was a "bit" of a surprise. Water has a green lid. Lol. Our server was top-notch! He was super attentive, changed our griddle grill frequently, bussed dishes quickly, and brought out meat rounds as fast as we could ask for them. He even helped cook a few items on our behalf. Service like that made it easy to leave a well-deserved cash tip. Overall we had a fantastic lunch experience and will definitely be back, to try the dinner menu. For only $9 more for dinner, the Wagyu on there is definitely going to dominate my plate. I just need to get there as soon as dinner begins so they can figure out how to roll me out....
