Writing a piece for this place is as chore of appreciation because this place, in a phrase, is damn good! It takes the traditional flavors of Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries (like El Savador) and elevates them to mighty tasting food and drink that stands confidently in French technique and nuanced flavors that are also bold in nature. Yep, this place is damn good! I have been once there before, and I remember three things about that visit. The first is their pork chop. The menu describes the pork chop as such: 24oz Bone in Berkshire Pork Chop topped with our House Made Compound Butter. Served with 2 eggs and potatoes. The cost of this plated chop is 40 dollars so it is definitely not a breakfast meat for the faint of wallet. But the chop was juicy, really succulent, and probably stands as a pork chop that I remember most fondly, if not top three easy. Its subtle char, its thick presence, an ode to the chop would not do it justice. The second thing (really human being) that I remember was the owner. He provided me his phone number so I could call him if I ever needed to skip their wait line but I misplaced his number. Yet, I remembered that their weekend wait can run close to an hour. So I arrived 30 minutes early before I met a friend. And we waited another 30 minutes to get in but the wait was worth it, absolutely. Before I get into the specifics of the meal, I want to recount that we were celebrating her birthday. And for me a birthday meal always needs to have a sweet finish, just like a train ride needs a caboose to feel complete. I have also been around the dinner table enough to know that different places have varying policies on around a birthday treat. Some places put a candle atop the cake while still charging you for the dessert, while others solely provide the treat, with appreciation and no extra charge. I am brave enough to inquire about their policy that way ordering can be decided upon strategically. I explained to the owner that we were celebrating a birthday and asked about their policy. We had paid our bill, the dishes had been taken away, and I asked the owner again. My friend, a little embarrassed I am sure, was like that's enough using her hands. She must not have liked the attention or the risk of us being seen as pushy or freeloaders. The owner explained that he had placed something for us, and brought it. It was a Salvadorean quesadilla, which is more of a sweet bread, than a cheese quesadilla that is more commonly delivered by Mexican cuisine. The quesadilla had ice cream, berries and a decorative flower. I am not sure how she felt after we received it, and enjoyed it, but I hope she knows it was nothing but an attempt to help her new year of life be that much sweeter. She had the chilaquiles. The chip of their chilaquiles is crisp to the point of perfection. The oil taste is subtle, and the salsa and other ingredients due not subdue the structural integrity of the chip. Meaning that the chip is a sturdy vehicle for the meat and sauces that comprise the dish.

I had the chorizo breakfast burrito that is described as a chorizo and Potato scrambled with 2 Eggs. Flour Tortilla, wrapped in a cheese crust. Topped with Sour Cream, Pickled Red Onions, Avocado and a Fried Egg. Choice of Red or...

Green Sauce. The cheese crust is like a second tortilla that enhances the burrito to haute couture dining. How? It takes what is known and transforms into a surprise that feels familiar yet new. It is a total moment of why did I not think of that? I also got the chorizo with red and green sauce, the owner called it divorced sauce and I called it Christmas style-. Either way the taste was truly phenomenal and transported me from flavors I know well to flavors that seemed fresh and exciting. It was Mexican food for a brave new world. I also had a pink latte. Yes, I got it because I wanted to taste pink, not just wear it. The pink latte is described as an Organic Beet Powder, Cinnamon, Ginger, Clove, Cardamom, Himilayan Sea Salt and Black Pepper sweetened with Vanilla. I like beets in salads, but here the drink was too earthy for my liking. Like one time I had a Tumeric latte and I felt the same way. So I sipped and enjoyed the novelty but I would not spring for this pink drink again, sorry Barbie. This place is worth the visit despite the one hour wait.

The only food I wasn't the biggest fan of was the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter was very crumbly and I did not like the texture when eating it. It just crumbles in your mouth like a dry biscuit. Very different from the...

pancake batter. The chicken was dry half way through, but did have a crispy skin to it. It was a VERY large piece of chicken too, def getting ur protein in!! The presentation of food is beautiful. I love it. The service omg. THEY LAG!!!!! I swear your brunch visit is going to be 2 hours there. Food takes around 45 minutes to come out and that's for a party of 2! That's the only thing I hate, is that it takes absolutely forever to see a waitress again. They keep waters filled but I believe they need more staff. They have parking in the back and side. The entrance is on the backside which tripped me out when walking on Hawthorne, I had to walk to the backside. I love the way this place is decorated, it's very comforting yet modern at the same time it's a perfect twist. I love the food but their service is really slow, even talking the entire time you still feel the "damn how long has it been?"

I've been here twice now, the first experience was incredibly good so it fostered another visit. Overall, the food is amazing. I love brunch food and this spot has incredibly great food. I've had the loaded tater tots with hot link as the meat and wow-- amazing. Reminds me of the pan's loaded hashbrowns. Just tater tots instead. It's a healthy portion, def can be split with another person. I like the twist on it being tots as I love tater tots so this is something I would absolutely get again! I wish the sausage was incorporated in the tots rather than on the side I had to chop it up myself. The pancake flight? 10/10 hit. My big back loves to try different things but I can't eat 4 full different stacks of pancakes. So this mini pancake flight is the perfect thing to try different flavors and share with someone too! We've been before. Not sure what is happening with the service, but we just walked out after 15 minutes of waiting just for a menu. We were finally acknowledged and brought a QR code menu then ignored once again. If you want to bring in the people, serve good food. If want to KEEP those people......have great service. Tata's is very much lacking in service. We will not be coming back here. There are entirely too many choices out there.

I came to Tata's the first time during a Yelp elite event years. It WAS really great THEN The service WAS fast. This is about maybe our third time coming post-Yelp event. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to downgrade their rating from last time. Some of the staff appears to not want to be there. It is being downgraded because the service is slow. There's a long wait. The food is good, but it's not worth my time to wait this long. The pork chop is not as good as I remembered it to be, it is not as juicy . You can't go through the front door if you're handicapped because it's locked. The only entrance is through the back. There are no accessible areas where a handicap person in wheelchair or walker can access the inside of this restaurant. There isn't enough parking too.

This place seems to always be jam packed! After having breakfast here, I can see why. The chilaquiles were absolutely delicious and a great portion size. The coffee (regular coffee) was strong and flavorful, with an almost smoked tinge to it. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic spot this is not it. Every table is full and for good reason. Looking forward to coming back here and trying some more of the menu. Be ready to wait a bit and don't expect the fastest service, but you can see that they're trying. Bravo.

Came here this morning after dropping family off at lax. The server was very nice and attentive. The food was made fresh and both the pancakes and chicken chilaquiles were really tasty. Not too saucy or sweet.

Nice and cozy brunch spot with some nice Mexican options. Took my fiancee and her family here, and they seemed to enjoy it! The chilaquiles were good; I got the combo sauce with red and green. Met up with my siblings to have a catch-up breakfast here. My sister had seen this on social media and really wanted to try it out. Parking is very limited, but we did come during a holiday so we were able to park at the bank next-door. You walk in through the back, we did have to check in, but we didn't have to wait too long thankfully even though the place was pretty busy. We're seated on our waitress was very attentive very sweet. Asked us if we had any questions about the menu took and took our drink orders. We ordered a little bit of everything because we like to share. The food was amazing. One thing I will say was that pork chop was super juicy. Some places their pork chops can run dry, but this one was delicious and cooked perfectly. The Chilaquiles were amazing. The pancake flight was good. I'm not a big pancake person, but we all wanted to try the different flavors. My Biscoff cookie latte was perfect. All in all the food was amazing. Service was great. The place stayed pretty packed the whole time we were there but it's still small enough to where you can catch up with somebody and it not be too loud. Glad my sister found this place and that we got to try it.

There's a low-key Michelin chef behind this cafe, y'all. My nursing friends invited me for breakfast after a long shift and, tbh, I thought it looked sketch from the outside. But, then again, some of the absolute best restaurants have always been holes in the wall. The interior of this place is cute though. Food? 5/5 unreservedly. American/Mexican with no dilution of either. Classic American breakfasts with uncompromising classic flavors. Mexican plates with authentic preparation. No joke no joke folks, this place is AMAZING for breakfast and brunch. And, good selection of coffee. The mimosas are yummy After coming to this place for the 3rd time, we found out that the owner is Culinary School trained. So, it all made sense. Pork chop and eggs or chilaquiles... Either way, amazing O of the taste buds. Come come try try!! +Digital Payments +Bathrooms +Parking is on the little lot or on the street. Be forewarned, it is initially tricky to find this place. It is next to the Marriott Courtyard but a brick wall separated their parking lots. If you get lost, just park somewhere on the street (mind the signs) and walk to the BACK entrance.

This breakfast place is my GO TO! Both the coffee and food is bomb. I recently tried this spot with my boyfriend and we loved it. We both agree that Tata's by far makes the best pancakes we have had. The cafe de olla latte is amazing! I order it every time I come. This place is a great option to order through Uber Eats too. If you come during game day at SOFI stadium, you will see a lot of guests wearing jerseys. There's a good amount of seating and the employees are kind. There's parking behind the restaurant and you enter through the backside. If you decide to try this spot, order the pancakes!

Went to breakfast early Thursday morning, 8:30am, and by 9am it was already getting crowded. So, come early it's a popular spot. Menu is virtual, you just scan a barcode; it doesn't have any pictures so definitely use Yelp photos for visuals. I had a hot, horchata latte and the green salsa chilaquiles. Latte was good and that green salsa was really good. It was spicy but not too spicy, had a nice little kick to it. My friend ordered the French toast that looked amazing, plenty of fresh fruit served with it. The actual bread slices were pretty thick though, but she said it was good. Other items on the menu and on people's plates looked yummy, their presentation is pretty well done. I'll probably be back to try something new! It was a bit hard to find, if you driving and park in the back of the building with no business names, but commercial garbage bin around hotels, you got the spot. You enter through the back and how cute!!! The bathroom on the side and another door to enter the restaurant.... Once you walk in, the Beauty created, is a vibe and soo cute! Loved it all! The service was amazing! Friendly and very accommodating! It was all around great experience! The dishes used to the food were all wonderful! Would totally go again! Loved Café de Olla - I would say one of the best I had! My husband & I stumbled upon Tata's cafe as it was near the hotel we were staying at & we are glad we did! The food was phenomenal! My absolute favorite was the cafe de olla latte and chicken & waffles. Both of our portions were huge and very flavorful. The only negative I could comment on was the service. We were a party of 2 and it took a while to seat us and then bring out our food. We even ordered right when we sat down because we were afraid of the wait and it still took a while. Other than that it was great! The entrance is out back though, which could be sketchy to some but wasn't a big deal to us. read more

Summary: fantastic food and coffee, excellent service, and affordable prices with solid portions make this place a must-visit. Highly recommend the breakfast burritos and horchata latte. There is plenty of parking in the lots in back, where the entrance is. You may have to wait for a table during primetime, but it is worth it. My wife and I went here for brunch on NYE around 11:45am and found parking easily. Inside, most tables were occupied, but there were a few groups in the waiting area, too. We put our names in and waited for about 25 minutes before being seated. Once seated, we scanned the menu QR code at the table and determined what we wanted to order. We started with an horchata latte (which was AMAZING), and waited about 15 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito with avocado and both green and red sauces (delicious), while my wife ordered the loaded tots with a hot link (also very good). As you can see, the portions are huge And we ended up taking home some leftovers. The prices by comparison, are incredibly affordable for the quality and quantity of food. Throughout the meal, the servers were bustling around from table to table and checking in on us. I did have to flag down a server to get the check, but it was still a wonderful meal for both of us. Went here last Saturday and it was BUSY! It took maybe 15-20 minutes for our party of 3 to be seated and then maybe another 15-20 minutes before we got our food. The wait was also a bit before we got our checks as well so we were tired and ready to go by the end of our meal. Anyways, I split the steak and frites and the chorizo burrito with my mom and they were both very yummy - especially the burrito. I would definitely go back just for the chorizo burrito again. The chorizo was the good kind, and the filling was all very delicious. The pickled onions also complimented it fantastically. The monte cristo was fine, but didn't stand out to me really. read more

Extremely long wait times. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait. An hour later and a half later, we still had 6 tables ahead of us. They need a more efficient system of seating guests. We noticed several empty tables that needed to be bussed... maybe they are short staffed. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Food was tasty :) Restrooms are dirty and need attention. I will not return. read more

Came on new years and the wait was about an hour and then an additional hour for the food to come out. That being said i wanted to be gracious with the review. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. First time I tried coming here was a few months ago and we were told the wait was going to be over an hour. Understandable. Second time was yesterday when I decided to give them another try in hopes it would be better. I go in and was greeted after a minute by a woman who said if I wanted to sit alone at the bar or wait for a table. Since I was alone I thought I don't mind just going to the bar so she told me to proceed. I have a seat she takes my drink order and shows me the QR code to look at the menu. After about 3-5 min she takes my order. I got the mandarin chicken salad. 15 min go by 30 min go by 40 min go by And I realize no food is coming and I'm already on cue to go back to work after almost an hour so I go to the front where the guy behind the cafe counter asks if I need help. So I tell him yes can I just get my food to go and he says okay. The lady that took my order never came back out of the kitchen after I hear she's in there telling the cooks about the salad. By this time it's already been about 50 min since I first arrived and they asked if I can wait "about 8 more min" for the salad. Sorry to say but I'm pretty sure you guys forgot about me and after making me wait an hour and receive no service or food I told them it's ok and left. My coworkers were shocked to see me after lunch and when I told them my experience. Suffice to say I don't think I can ever try going back read more

This place is really a gem for the residents that live nearby. I came to have a breakfast date with my littlest toddler. His plate was so adorable! I have found the perfect spot for breakfast dates with my children. The staff is so humble and the prices are reasonable. Their specialty lattes are very delicious, I ordered the pink latte, found something to replace my Starbucks. Finally found this little gem tucked away (back entrance) on the North side of Chase Bank! IFYKYK. Food was exceptional and the service was the BEST! I already expected 100% satisfaction. Although we've waited for 40 minutes for a weekend brunch, it's better than other overrated popular brunch spots. These is what we have eaten: 1. I visited Tata's cafe for the first time and I must say I was extremely impressed with the overall experience! The food, the service in general everything was wonderful. I ordered a Hot Chocolate that actually tasted like real chocolate not chocolate syrup mixed in hot milk. And that was just the beginning. Next I ordered the loaded tater tots and they were superb! We love coming here and the food is great. But this is the second time I come and I ask for my eggs sunny side up and they always come out over medium. Today it took the server a really long time to even acknowledge us. We got sat and they sat a few tables after us. The tables that got sat after us got helped first. We had to ask the lady in the front who was our server because ewe had been sitting for a while and no service. Finally a server came by and we told her we were ready for all of it. She said no, let's start with drinks. I kinda chucked and said we're ready for EVERYTHING. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and 4 waters. Then I ordered my daughter some kids pancakes, my wife ordered and so did my son. Then I ordered some chilaquiles with the sunny side up. And i specifically told the server I didn't want them over easy, that I wanted them sunny side up. She said still raw on top. And I said yes. When they brought my latte, they brought out an iced latte. And when she brought my food, we eggs were over medium. Not even over easy! And then she asked me if they were good! Umm no! They're cooked! After bringing my sons, my wife's and my food, we waited for my daughter's food. And it never came. I had to wave the server down and asked her for my the pancakes. She argued with me and continued to tell me that we didn't order the pancakes. Maybe she shouldn't be taking so many tables. She's probably over whelmed and needs to slow down and focus a bit more. read more

Food is 10/10 with great portion sizes, always enough for leftovers. Their coffee and drinks are so good and refreshing. I have tried the chicken and waffles (bomb), the enfrijoladas (A MUST), the specialty pancakes (great variety), and the loaded tots (so good!), the mimosas and lattes are so yummy and come in the cutest cups. The staff is very attentive even when very busy. The ambiance is mom and pop and they have the cutest serving plates/cups. It was perfectly spicy and the chips were still crispy, my mouth is watering writing this review LOL! I also tried their Cafe de la Olla Latte and it was just okay, nothing special and I think they used too much milk as that's all I tasted, but I'd definitely try some of their other lattes! Went to have breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was so packed. Be prepared for a 30 minute wait at least but it is worth it. The chilaquiles were good, but the green salsa was a little sour. It has Matcha, whole milk, strawberry puree, vanilla cold foam, strawberry pieces. It was so good! I usually go for coffee in the morning but this matcha looked so yummy and I'm glad I went with it! The service is great and fast. I got a size medium and it was huge I didn't expect it to be so big! I didn't get to check out the inside but I'm sure it's a nice ambience! Looking forward to trying more drinks!

The horchata latte, captured in photos, was equally delightful, though my eagerness to savor my meal caused me to forget to photograph it. Opting for the chilaquiles with red sauce, I experienced a perfect harmony of flavors, complete with a satisfying level of spice. My son's pancakes were equally impressive; the first slice with the knife hinted at their exceptional taste and extraordinary fluffiness. Tata's Cafe was such a great find! I started with the iced caramel latte -- strong, sweet, and exactly what you want in a good coffee. They even served the espresso shot with the cutest little teddy bear design on top, which was such a fun touch. The food was just as impressive. The French toast was absolutely delicious, and the chilaquiles with birria were packed with flavor. The huevos rancheros with birria were another highlight -- rich, hearty, and super satisfying. We also tried the loaded tater tots (a must if you like comfort food) and the freshly made lemonade, which honestly blew my mind. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. We came here for brunch and it was so worth the wait! Yes, there's a bit of a line for a table, but once you sit down, you'll understand why everyone's willing to wait. The coffee was amazing, rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed(with a heart top). The French toast was out of this world...fluffy, sweet, and just the right amount of crisp on the edges. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were golden and seasoned just right. The whole meal felt cozy and comforting, like brunch should. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to...next time I'll just plan for the wait and grab another cup of that delicious coffee while I do! read more

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The service was very slow and not attentive at all. In the entire time we were there, only once did someone come by and that was just to give us our drinks that we finished quickly. The staff just kept walking past without saying a word. The table next to us had also been waiting a long time, and their food was brought out very slowly as well. I personally sat for 40 minutes waiting for my meal, which is unacceptable. Overall, the lack of attention and extremely slow service made for a frustrating dining experience. read more

I come to this place very often.. My all time favorite is the green chilaquiles too good to not try!! I also recommend the Tata's Late it's a Dulce de leche syrup with any milk of your choice and with a shot of espresso!! Another food choice if you ate very hungry is the Breakfast Chorizo Burrito with the green salsa service top notch and the owner Luis very kind always makes great conversation with all his clients.. A great brunch spot I recommend!!! read more

I went to a tapas Café yesterday for a birthday party it's the first time I went there, the food were delicious and quite unique. I like the French toast, it's the best I have ever tasted. And the pork chop and Tomahawk steak were very juicy and tender, the chef is very creative and I think his food is as good as other reputable restaurants in South Bay read more

Come and try amazing coffee with really good breakfast. Huevos Ahogados and chilaquiles are really Good, not to mention the meat lovers loaded potatoes. Portions are great! A must try is the Salvadoran quesadilla topped with ice cream that's made to order. (Takes about 20 minutes). read more
