OMG ... Yes, Go ... NOW! They have a cute little outdoor patio w/ seating and a fountain. The interior is very well done as well. The staff is so friendly and know the menu very well. Their cocktails were phenomenal especially the el anticuado (basically a smoked old fashion) the smoke flavor and aroma made the drink amazing. Our table enjoyed the buratta pizza, linguine al poblano and fettuccine al mezcal. The entrees were unique and amazing. The pizza did not disappoint. I went to tauro cocina for my birthday with my family. Right off the bat, the restaurant is nice and homey, although kind of loud. Seating is comfortable, but the staff seats all the tables close together rather than spreading people apart which was a little weird. Out waitress was very friendly and accommodating throughout our meal. The restaurant serves Mexican Italian fusion cuisine which I have never had before. The drinks are alright, nothing to write home about. The best one of the bunch was probably the red sangria. For appetizers, we had octopus, stuffed poblano pepper, and bread. The bread is just pizza dough with some oil for dipping. The octopus was good but soooo small, like 4 small bites. The stuffed pepper was cheesy, delicious, and a generous portion. For entrees, we tried the poblano pesto pasta, the mezcal chipotle pasta (added breaded chicken), the cilantro risotto, and the asada pizza. The two pasta dishes were lacking salt, but after some supplementation they were decent. The breaded chicken was very well made. It was juicy and flavorful. The grilled chicken that came with the poblano pesto was also juicy and seared nicely. The cilantro risotto was a crowd favorite, although I wish it would've had more of a sauce to it; it was kind of dry. Also, the shrimp that came with this entree were disappointingly very small. The pizza was also very good. The green sauce is cilantro based which was delicious covered in a bunch of cheese, and the steak was cooked nicely as well. For dessert we had their classic flan. It had dulce de leche underneath on the plate which was very delicious. The entire flan dessert was nicely made. Generally, I would come to tauro cocina again. The food was good and unique. It is interesting to try something new, and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a different fusion dining experience! read more

We held our wedding rehearsal dinner for 40 people in Touro Cocina's beautiful event space. From the beginning, Ahidé was so easy to communicate with and accommodating in planning the dinner, picking a menu with some custom recommendations from the chef, as well as a signature cocktail list for the event. Us and our guests were extremely impressed with how perfectly things went. The food was excellent, with large portions enjoyed by all. Cocktails were amazing as well, served quickly, and all the staff were wonderful throughout the event. Guests came up to us many times throughout the night to tell us how gorgeous the space was and how much they enjoyed their food and drinks. Everything about this restaurant was great! The vibe was classy, but cozy and warm feeling with the low lights. Lots of cute picture spots! Everyone in my group got a couple different drinks and we loved them all. My favorite was the Toro Mambo, it was the perfect sweet and spicy combo! My friend and I went to try brunch after seeing pics of the patio online. I had a cup of their cafe con leche which was quite tasty, but I was disappointed to have a bright lipstick stain on my cup. Our server handled it quickly and provided a new drink. I had the birria biscuits (after ordering the birria bowl) and was pleased with the deep, hearty flavors. Came here for a quick dinner out with my husband and mother in law and absolutely loved it! The drink menu is amazing - definitely more on the sweet side, which I like, and very fruity and creative. The Pasionada and Dragon fruit margarita were both seasonal drinks that were so tasty and easy to drink. We were seated quickly on a Sunday evening without a reservation - this did mean we were inside rather than on the beautiful patio, and the indoor dining space was pretty empty. Our server was busy with the bar so I didn't feel like they were particularly easy to flag down as they didn't have other tables by us. Overall the food was quite good - the pizza was delicious and the flavors of the salad were delicious. I'm taking a star off because quite a bit of the lettuce in the salad was wilted and slimy - if I'm dining out for a salad, I expect it to be fresh, and the greens seemed like they were leftover from a few days ago. Love the different variety they had and how each was made so special! My husband got a classic peroni as they had it on tap which was a SCORE! Our other two pals got the Paloma's and they were delish as well! Excited to come back and try another drink as their list is wonderful! Food - yummmmy! Menu very unique and again a lot to choose from that was exciting! We got the pear and burrata pizza and the spicy Fettuccini al Mezcal. Our friends got the same pasta and the fig and prosciutto pizza! Our pizza was excellent a great balance of flavors. The pasta on the other hand was good, but very spicy and wouldn't suggest if you don't love super spicy things! However, there was so many options excited to come back and try more! Super disappointed with my experience at Tauro Cocina. I'll start by saying that the restaurant is lovely. The indoor main area when you walk in is cool, but as you go further back, it gets even better. We were lucky to be able to sit on the beautiful patio, and there was also an open air area near the pizza oven that I loved as well. The host and hostess were very pleasant. They acknowledged that I indicated it was my birthday on the reservation which was very nice. Our server was also very nice. He let me know that because it was my birthday I could have a glass of champagne or some churros for dessert. So, the service overall was just so very, very slow. We don't like to be rushed but at the end of the night (after having slow service through the meal) it felt like pulling teeth to get a few to go boxes, then our check, then for him to run our card (even though my husband literally pulled his card out while the waiter was at the table....the waiter walked away without taking it). So we finally had to get up and find him so we could pay (as we had tickets for a show and needed to leave). He was very, very nice, just so slow. The food....we ordered the pear and Brie pizza as an appetizer and it was good but not great. The crust could have been crispy. It wasn't crispy at all....which was a bummer. The pizza had bacon sprinkled on it and this was THE HIGHLIGHT of the pizza, but it was only sprinkled directly in the middle so basically your first bite of each slice got a taste and that was it. I ordered a fettuccine with chipotle cream sauce and added chicken to it. I expected a little heat because of the chipotle but this entree was just way too spicy. My husband can handle a lot of spice and he said it was too spicy as well. It really didn't have much flavor because of all the spice. On the bright side, the pasta was very nice- it was fresh and homemade and with the right sauce it would be amazing. My husband ordered another pizza with sausage and pepperoni, as his main. He said the sauce was overpowering and he didn't love it. Drinks were fine. I had the red sangria and the champagne for my birthday and he had their old fashioned. Overall, I don't know if I'd go back. None of the food was great...I would possibly give it another shot because I liked the atmosphere. Hoping it was just an off night. read more

This restaurant was explained to me as Latin and Italian fusion, which ended up being kind of true, but to a lesser extent than I thought. The menu is mostly pizzas & pastas that have some non-typical ingredients like cilantro, a mezcal vinaigrette, jalapeños, etc. they had a summer special of a elote pasta. That sounded really good. We ended up ordering some drinks, a salad, and two pizzas for the table. The drinks were amazing, I really would go here again in the future just to sit at the bar and try all of them. The salad felt like a stupid decision, we ordered the house salad and it was really small and not that great for $14. We should've gotten an appetizer instead! The watermelon feta salad looked delicious. The pizzas were amazing though. We couldn't decide between the two, so got both! The pear and Brie pizza had bacon and hot honey on it. The bacon had a strong flavor that was awesome in combination with the sweet ingredients. The grilled peach and burrata pizza was insane. It was refreshing with the fruit, fresh cheese, and greens. Only note is that they're probably could've been more peaches! I really loved that. There were a lot of sweet/savory options on this menu, because one of my favorite things is the combination. Celebrated my birthday at the restaurant and wanted to give a huge shout out to Ahide their banquet manager. We had a group of 35 ppl in their garden room and she coordinated everything perfectly... the set up, food, drink and food menus for everyone and most importantly how seamless and timely everything went. I've been to many parties at different restaurants and as a host you always worry that ppl don't wait for their drink for 30 min (which is usually the case even with the small group), that everyone's food comes out on time and not 30 min apart (again, I've seen it happen time and time again... someone finished their food while someone is still waiting for the entree to arrive), that there's something on the table at all times for ppl to munch on. She and the staff nailed every single one! Of course a huge commitment to the chef and the kitchen staff because everything was delicious! We had 2 waiters/bartenders Ivan and Jessica (sorry if I misstated the name) who were excellent! I received many compliments from my guests and I know a lot of them will be back to sample the other menu items. Sat at the bar with a friend last night. Ordered two drinks, an appetizer and two entrees. Drinks and entrees were delicious but had the worst service. The first issue was less of a big deal but the bartender forgot our appetizer twice. After we reminded him, he put the appetizer in again but then never checked on it. The kitchen finally brought it out after we were done with the meal and the second order sat so long that the octopus was rubbery. But we were willing to forgive that and both of us tipped 20%. The issue that happened next was what really bothered us. It was towards the end of the night and pretty quiet. So there were only two other parties seated at the bar. As soon as we paid our tab, the bartender cleared our drinks before my friend was even done with her beverage. At first I wasn't mad because I figure it could be an innocent mistake because she was almost done but then my friend pointed at that the bartender only cleared our drinks. The other two parties had all of their empty glassware in front of them including the six shot glasses that were drunk by another party before we even got our food. We sat there for a good 20 minutes without drinks while we tried to find a time to talk to the management without him there. During that time, both parties left and he didn't even start cleaning their glassware until after we gave up and started to leave. When we called the manager and explained the situation, she definitely downplayed the situation and focused on the delayed appetizer. Again, that wasn't the biggest issue but having been in the service industry, I know how you should take care of a customer. The second time around, we actually had time to remark several times that he forgot our order because of how long it was taking. And it didn't come until after we were basically done eating. It is unfortunate because it was good entrees and drinks and in our neighborhood. But I don't know that I would go back because clearly I woke up still feeling upset today and that's not how you should feel after you go out for a dinner out. read more
