This place at first glance does not seem like much, but you have to go down the stairs in order to appreciate the ambience and the vibe. The food is so good. Very dog friendly. And they serve your water in these adorable little jam jars. We bought one it was so cute. The service was amazing. Our waitress took such great care of us. It's not on the menu, but they do have sweet potato fries! Thank you...

We spontaneously went to Coronado with a large group and no reservations. We ended up here because the place was relatively empty. They had good drink options and a menu that everyone could find something. I got the salmon and thought it was good but very plain and therefore expensive for what you got. We split the Brussels which were good, and others enjoyed the pot pie, gem salad, steak tacos, fish tacos and more. Overall everyone liked their food but none of the dishes blew us away.

It does feel more like a dive bar than a sports bar to me. And yeah, it's partly because it's below the street, more like a basement, more introverted, and good if you want to be on Orange Ave., but don't want to "feel" like you're on Orange Ave. I only ordered an IPA, so I can't comment on the drinks. The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

Had some great happy hour bites at the Tavern. The $7 Cabernet Sauvignon was delicious. Loved the floral center piece at the table and the beautiful distressed wood table itself. Service was friendly, and the food came out promptly. The waygu steak taco was my favorite, it had a great flavor and was very tender. I definitely recommend the Brussels sprouts, lots of Parmesan and thick balsamic glaze. I'll definitely be back!

We came for pre-game cocktails and had a great experience! Super cool looking place, it's got a fun vibe and service was great. We had a few cocktails from their specials menu and they were creative and delicious. While we didn't eat here, the food going to tables and bar looked very good, and almost made us blow off reservations elsewhere. But, that's bad form, so we'll just have to go back again sometime.

The drinks were really good. It's in a nice location and the ambiance is beautiful. It's a nice place to grab drinks and a little lunch. The portions are smaller but the sandwich was good. The salad was basic but I would go back. The service was nice and the waitress was really friendly.

Came here to watch football and eat dinner. Cool location "underground" in downtown coronado. Drinks were good. I liked my steak tacos. Dad liked his burger. Both were good, not great. Nice dark moody bar theme, but only 2 TVs behind the bar.

The ambiance and service are amazing here! We always come back here when I need a treat :) I wouldn't give the food a perfect rating just because I feel like the vegetable consistently are not as cooked as I'd like them to be. But I will always return here for their salmon, chicken jidori, pot pie, or the fish and chips! Our fav drinks are the raspberry rosemary drink, the strawberry basil, or aloe cucumber!!!

Great spot located on the main street, but set on a lower level to create a lovely and intimate setting. Outdoor seating is available, but the interior truly is warm and inviting with lots of wood, stone, low lighting and subtle floral accents. Our bartender/server Hannah was great. Friendly, attentive, quick and helpful. My husband had the sliders, which he enjoyed. I ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, which were flash fried and too burnt for me. I couldn't find any green in the dish. All the sprouts looked and tasted overdone. Thankfully, the dish was removed from our bill and I was given a chance to order something else. I chose the Tomato Soup Gratinée, which was INCREDIBLE. It came out in a small bowl, but the serving was perfect. The soup was rich and satisfying with lots of mozarella. All in all, a spot worth visiting.

Very good food, great service and very nice ambience. The chicken pot pie was excellent and the Corn Tortilla soup was a gourmet delight.

The hotel dates back to 1888 and has hosted celebrities, royalty, and U.S. presidents over the years. It was also famously featured in the movie Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe. Knowing some of that history made it even more interesting to visit. The property is absolutely gorgeous and sits right on the beach with beautiful ocean views. Sun Deck itself is really cute, spacious, and has plenty of seating, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. One important heads-up: valet parking is $49. We were initially told that parking could be validated at the restaurant, but unfortunately that was not the case, so just be prepared for the parking cost. We actually ended up at Sun Deck by mistake while trying to find another restaurant. Once we realized we were at the wrong place, we decided to stay and have a cocktail instead of ordering food. I ordered a spicy margarita, and honestly, it was one of the best margaritas I've had in a very long time. It was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Jessica took care of us, and she was wonderful. She has such a sweet, bubbly personality and was very informative and genuinely fun to talk to. She also makes an amazing margarita! If you get a chance, ask for Jessica -- you won't be disappointed. Although we didn't get a chance to try the food, we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the gorgeous ocean views, and our drinks. Between the beautiful historic hotel, beachfront location, spacious outdoor seating, and great cocktails, Sun Deck is definitely a nice place to stop and enjoy the Coronado scenery.

First, as expected, it's way overpriced for what it is. It'll cost you at least $30+ for any salad or entree. Got the grilled chicken naan, which was basically an explosion of ingredients. Messiest meal at the Del by far :P At least the fries were crispy and solid. Kids did enjoy their cheeseburgers. It was no frills, pretty standard.

The ordering and beer shack is made to look appropriately rustic and the sign post is appropriately thematic, see my pics. As you can see from my pic I was lucky enough to be there at a slow time. My canned beer came out in so-so time. But the staff was somewhat harried and short tempered. I ordered my fish taco, and I didn't realize it was made and had to be picked up at a different shack - which is around the corner from where I placed my order. So they had to tell me twice (I didn't see the small white sign down the alley: so you don't get snapped at I have a pic of where the food is prepped and picked up.) There were 2 taco orders ahead of mine, yet it took 15 minutes to serve my taco. I'm glad I waited there - they yell your name at the alley, I'm not sure it could be heard at the beach and over the live music. Please take a look at my $8.50 fish taco. While there was a plentiful amount of fish, the seasoning was incredibly salty. Also the fish was tough. I did liked the guac on top and rest the was fresh.
