A lot of things don't have prices on them, but making homemade beer is expensive so buckle up. They also have a fridge with some fun local beers. This place is great, the information I got over the phone, about my alternatives for Soda Stream was great. I ended up ordering an adapter on Amazon and bought a 20lb cannister for $200 out the door, I have a place in my kitchen for the cannister, and now I can use my soda stream as much as I want and won't need to fill my cannister up for 3 to 4 months. The refill at current prices is $35. I was spending $70 a month for my Soda Stream refills, and now I am around $12. With a different adapter, you can refill your soda stream cannisters with this tank as well, but I went the direct connect route. The guy helping me inside the store was very informative (Jaime), and the man outback that filled my tank was super nice as well. Hard to find a parking spot, but I called first, and Jaime told me I could park on the side of their building, and I was in and out within 15 minutes. read more

I sought this place out when the place I used to use, a beer maker shop in Eagle Rock kept randomly closing and doing a bad job filling my tank fully. I've been here multiple times and had no issues up until recently. I had kept calling to order a keg and the guy that always works the front kept telling me to call back because they didn't have it. I called for 3 weeks straight and thought they didn't have the keg at all. Until one day I randomly get called that the keg is ready for pickup but I was unable to get it because I was working out in California City. Once I was available to pick up the keg I called back to see if they still had it and didn't. Yesterday I call so I can reorder the keg I didn't even know I ordered at first and the guy working the front was being rude. That since I didn't pick up the keg they will no longer sell to me. I was just trying to get an easier understanding of what was happening but the employee was being rude and just kept disregarding me. read more

These guys filled my 20 ounce cylinder (common paintball tank) with food grade co2 for only eleven dollars twenty cents ($11.20) which I watched them fill from a huge steel size 50 cylinder. Great price too. A five gallon aluminum cylinder over there is just sixty-five dollars ($65) plus tax. The they sell five-pound blocks of co2 for just under nine dollars read more

If you have a kegerator at home. This is the place to go to. They fill up CO2 tanks. You can purchase new CO2 tanks. You can also purchase kegs for beer and all the supplies and all repair items you need for kegerator's. Also, recently started purchasing the beer kegs from here as well and their prices and inventory are so much better than BevMo. I think they're mostly for businesses, but anyone could walk in. What can I say? The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices area more than reasonable. It's a small location, but they have everything you need. I've been getting my CO2 tanks filled here for years. I have a kegerator and 2 small soda devices (with adapters for the 5lb tanks) and this is the ONLY place in L.A. worth going to for CO2 service! Kind of a drive from Glendale, but great place. Friendly staff and parking on the side of the building. Needed to fill my 10 pound Power Tank. Without reg. and guard, my tank weighs14.4 lbs. The dude in the back filled to - get this - 24.4lbs. I paid for 10 lbs of co2, and they gave my 10lbs of co2! A few bucks cheaper than other places as well. 4 differently places and this is the first to get it right. This is the place to go for tank refills. read more

Came here to get our SodaStream C02 canister refilled. They charge $10.50 for this service. The employees here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They advised that new SodaStream canister have a valve that is incompatible with refilling. They offer a service to switch the valve out to the older style if necessary. This location also had lots of supplies for home brewing and other materials. Love it! Will be back. read more

I was throwing a huge party for my birthday last week, and decided I wanted to get a full keg of some kind of good beer (read: NOT Budweiser). I was almost going to go with BevMo, but their price for a full keg of something simple like Newcastle was WAY too much. I thought to myself, "there's got to be a better way." Well, there was! I checked out Tavern Service on recommendation from my brother, who knows friends who have ordered kegs from them before... and I always try to support small businesses when I can. I asked them to fax me a price list, as they didn't have one on their website, and they were more than happy to comply. Then I found it: 15.5 gallons of Blue Moon Beer = $50.00 cheaper than at BevMo. They ordered the keg for me, and said I could pick it up whenever I wanted to. On the day of the party, I parked out back, and the employees loaded it into the truck for me. I also bought a 40-lb. bag of ice for $7.00 to go with the keg. The keg was a huge hit, and the whole process for getting it was really easy. The folks at Tavern Service are friendly and helpful, and I would recommend them to anyone who has upcoming party needs... they have tank services for balloons, and all kinds of neat beers inside, too. Usually at other beer supply stores you run into pretentious staff and steep prices, but at least they are well stocked too. Anyway here you'll find all the tools and grains you'll need to get your next recipe going. The staff is friendly and helpful but only if you ask for help, most of the customers are seasoned home brewers so they know where everything is and how everything works. There's a scale you can move over to wherever you're scooping along with metal scoops and a little duster and dust pan incase you spill a little. I come here to fill my helium tank. Been coming for the past 5 years and every time we come we are in and out in about 5 minutes. Everyone is really friendly and they do a great job of getting you in and out. I have no idea if the price is right, because I rather just come here and know I can get in and out and get the help I need. They are great and worth checking out! Tavern Service Saved my PARTY! This place is great, they really helped me out when i was in a bind. I was throwing a huge party, and thought that we had everything taken care of, until the day of the party when we realize we didn't have a keg of beer, or any alcohol for that matter, and we began scrambling for places to get a keg from. We took a shot in the dark with this place and were grateful we did. They were able to give us everything we needed for the party, the keg and tap, ice, cups, basically anything we had forgotten to get for the party they had in their store. Without them our party would not have been as successful. Their customer service is really great, they worked with us to make sure were got everything quickly and for such short notice, they really worked some miracles! I always reccommend this place to my friends and family who are looking for a place to get kegs and party supplies that has great prices and great customer service. I am so happy I found the TAVERN in Northridge! I've gotten into home brewing after a 2+ yr hiatus, but now I'm back baby! Now I have a local place to pick up dozens of types of grains, dozens of types of yeasts, arrays of malts, and quality brewing equipment. Ryan hooked me up with the upper end starter kit with glass carboys, all the tubing and bottling equipment, books, sanitizers and a copper wort chiller. I've made 4, five and ten gallon batches of beer this summer alone with recipes from the stores vast library, each one coming out very drinkable. I've gotten a lot of compliments from my microbrew aficionado friends. There's also everything you need to make homemade wine here as well, something I haven't tried yet, but would like to get into. If you are interested in getting into home brewing, or already do, I'd give 'em a shot. It's a lot easier than you may think, and you can make a high end beer for less than the cost of an average beer. Went in to pick up some CO2. As I put the bottle into my truck, the nozzle burst in my face. I was in shock from the blast, it took a few minutes to gather myself and realize what just happened. To my surprise nobody came over to see what happened. Keep in mind, an open CO2 bottle makes one hell of a noise. I went inside the office and found the owner/manager. He explained to me that I was lucky to be alive. So, unless you have a death wish, stay away from this place. read more
