We went to Taverna for lunch recently on a weekday and we were extremely disappointed. I got the eggplant Parmesan and husband got the burger. Each one was around $19 which seemed pretty steep for lunch. The eggplant Parmesan wasn't crisp at all, it was very mushy and the sauce tasted bland and the cheese was like what you'd have on cheap Totino's pizza. Just completely boring and bleh. Olive Garden's version is 100 times better. It was served with a side of penne pasta that had a few mushrooms, carrots, zucchini and a cream sauce. The sauce on that was almost flavorless and watery and tasted like pure milk with no salt even. Also the portions for my dish were very small. My husband's wagyu burger was super dry (how is that even possible?) and very little flavor. The fries were nothing special. It was my first experience coming to Taverna and the customer service was very well professional and everything went very smooth. I got to meet the manager of Taverna and he was very kind and was giving everyone a smile. The food is very good we had the Margarita Pizza and it was well prepped and delicious. The food is amazing and the portions are really reasonable. The waitstaff gets easily confused with large parties for seating and for checks but besides that, everything else is pretty good. It's easy to eat healthy here. Also, for their Sunday brunch they have $2 mimosas and bellinis, which is awesome. I've been here several times and will go again. read more

I wanted to update my review! I would of done it a long time ago but could not figure out my password to my Yelp account. I just want to say the managers here are amazing ;Rafael and Kalyn every time we come in they make sure everyone is taken care of and are very attentive to customers. They are very accommodating. My husband and I live at the domain we have so many restaurants to go to and we choose taverna at least once a week. every time we have gone in the servers and food has been amazing! Typical of a fancy restaurant the food was tasty and well presented but the portions were small, entrees came with minuscule sides and overall you were left hungry. The service was at best fair: our food came out cold and not everyone was served at the same time. We headed here for brunch / lunch today. We ordered the focaccia bread appetizer which was not traditional focaccia, we should have just gotten some of the free bread instead. we ordered two pastas and an eggs Benedict, the eggs were undercooked on the eggs Benedict and all of our plates were a bit cold. We went in, it smelled like HEAVEN, and the hostess greeted us right away. Our server was fast and never interrupted. She had in depth knowledge about all of the food and was able to suggest cocktails as well. I had the prickly pear to start and it was well balanced and delicious. Yes it is a little spendy but the quality is 100% worth it. He got the California pizza which was huge and super tasty, I got a seafood fettuccini dish in a cream sauce that was outstanding. Customer service is definitely not a priority at this location. I brought my family that's visiting from out of town because I told them that the food is great and the place is nice. Our hostess had a dismissive attitude which is surprising since this location is at the Domain (a nicer part of town). The hostess preceded to talk bad about me (a paying customer) to a colleague. When my father overheard her and said why don't you go ahead and tell that to my daughter the hostess said "Who the fuck do you think you are?" Coming from a hospitality/ customer service industry myself I have to say that is completely unacceptable. Over priced and under flavored with small portions. I got the butternut squash ravioli and there were only about 6 raviolis that tasted like they were just sitting in Campbell's canned soup. It was not warm or fresh tasting. We also got the California pizza. It wasn't warm, the chicken was tough and sparse.. it also just tasted like tomato soup. We stumbled in here after we decided we were too hungry to wait for Culinary Dropout. We ordered a salad, mussels, octopus, seafood risotto, and clam pasta. Everything was really great! The only dish that might have been disappointing was the charred octopus because it only has TEENY TINY bits of octopus (not what we were expecting) and mostly potatoes (which were also tiny bits). Not going to order that one again lol. It is a pricey place and would probably be great for a date night or HH. The wait staff was also amazing and great at explaining all the dishes on the menu. Stopped into Taverna at the Domain today with a friend of mine. I was familiar with their Dallas location and was eager to order a plate of their famous focaccia bread. Service was a little slow despite the restaurant being relatively empty, but the food was excellent and their drinks were well prepared. Might return if I'm in the area again. I have eaten at Taverna 3 times now. The first two visits were very good. The third was miserable. The highlight of my visit was going to be the chef's focaccia. Not so. It was late in coming and was obviously raw when it arrived. I ate 2 slices and asked the server to ask the chef to cook it some more. They cooked it. When it returned the bottom was crisp and the top was still raw. I also order lasagna. That was a bowl of thick, tasteless cheese soup with a curious little glob of what was apparently overcooked pasta in it. Oh, and there was a streak of brown stuff across the cheese soup. I told myself that it was meat sauce. I also told myself that I will never return. read more

Let me just start by saying I don't particularly care for the domain, but I tolerate it just to visit this Taverna. Since they opened a year ago, I have come at least once a week for half-off select wine bottles on Mondays and Tuesdays. My favorite dishes are the Eggplant parmigiana or the veal parmigiana. And for brunch the chicken and waffles. The food is great, but the service makes the experience for me. If I'm not at the bar having a blast with Sarah or Jordan, I'm at a big cozy booth in the dining room. Alexander has been our waiter multiple times and is attentive, hospitable, and knowledgeable. read more

I was thrilled to have a Taverna up north as it's nearly impossible to get a table on 2nd Street, and I've always managed to snag a table here despite it being consistently busy. My favorite meal here is definitely brunch with $2 bellini's and mimosas, I really like the Taverna hash while the boyfriend loves their rotating breakfast calzone (the thing is massive). Off the regular menu I really like the Taverna salad, cheese and meat plate, prosciutto pizza and caprese. They can make virtually anything gluten free (including pasta and pizza) which is a big plus for me. It's definitely on the pricey side but between the service and tasty food it's worth the trip! read more

This place is a joke. The service is horrible and we could see people around us looking as upset as we were. We ordered a pizza that took 45 minutes to get and it was flavorless, no sauce, just crust, lettuce, a tiny amount of prosciutto, and skimpy amount of cheese. I had to order pizza sauce to dip the dry za into in order to give it flavor. Don't waste your money here.. They're going for anyone desperate to find a place to eat.
