BThis was an excellent choice even if it was Malibu - PCH on the 4th of July. Amazing Greek Caviar and fresh hot pita...we shared plates so we could try a little variety. The calamari, California salad and sorry I couldn't possibly get the name right without a menu ( the Greek lasagna ) with pistachios...light and yummy. All food is made from scratch and the outside patio dining was perfect. Appears to have a full bar and very nice selection of wine. The only apparent negative was that the service felt slow. When we asked for another drink, more pita, etc...and it wasn't " that " busy at 3:30 in the afternoon. We would however definitely go back...and see what a second visit is like. read more

I believe it was a Greek style place, everything felt really healthy & fresh while also being delicious!! We got the Greek feast I think it was called? Which was a big combo for a few people w/ all different kinds of their specialties. This included lots of dips, I think it was hummus, tzatziki, & some other notable amazing whiteish Greek style dips. Incredible w/ fresh pita. I used to love this place. I would come from Palos Verdes every Friday night Tony left. The ambiance isn't there any more. They don't make yu feel special like Tony did. I think it took about 20 min at most. Right off the bat the serve you fresh baked warm bread. The whole restaurant is in hyping up together from the live show. The band and dancers are everything needed to turn this dinner into a memorable dining experience! You feel the whole Mediterranean vibe; its unforgettable. Service definitely needs sprucing since its really hard to get your waiter/waitress to come back to your table. So order when they come to take your actual order. DO NOT WAIT. Happened maybe 3 times, and water cups were not filled accordingly. Food is as simple and bland as it gets. We had the meze plate, Jumbo Prawns (super dry) and Chilean Seabass (dry as well). Went here with a friend and it's so nice! We were seated at a table on the front patio which I highly recommend to ask for, as they also have indoor seating but the patio is definitely a hot spot! The food was delicious, my friend had a seafood pasta which she very much enjoyed and we shared the raw veggies platter with a variation of different dips, which is one of the things Greek cuisine is known for, and it did not disappoint! Great location/ambiance and very friendly staff. I recommend to book in advance, as it gets quite busy, especially in weekends with the local Malibu crowd and the nearby beach goer's, but definitely worth a visit! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, they have plenty of seating, both inside and out, but sitting outside really makes you feel like you are on vacation in Greece, it is magical! Service is exceptional, you are well taken care of your entire meal, they really k ow how to treat their customers. Ideal place for date night, families or business meetings, the food is absolutely delicious! I love their breads and house caviar spread, their salads and meat dishes, you really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! After reading the reviews on here, I was pretty disappointed by this place. It's not that the food was bad - it was pretty average. However, it's super overpriced for what it is. I live in San Francisco, so I am used to eating pricy food. We paid $35-$40 (each) for lamb souvlaki and chicken souvlaki. Stopped by for an early dinner. We opted for dining in the patio area--just be warned that the bees and birds are pretty active around this time. This was our first time here. The food was flavorful and fresh! Shortly after we were seated, they brought us fresh baked sourdough bread which was still warm with some taramosalata (ingredients were red caviar, lemon juice, olive oil, onions etc) dip that was super delicious, light & fluffy--blended to perfection! We also ordered the flaming saganaki with cognac as an appetizer. Wait staff served it with a little extra pizzazz. For dinner, we tried the organic chicken slouvaki and lamb slouvaki. Both plates came with potatoes & rice. Everything we ordered was tasty & fresh. We also had some specialty drinks which were on the stronger side but no complaints here! All in all, it was a pleasant dining experience and will definitely return. We enjoyed the ambiance of the patio dining coupled with the piped in Greek style music but could've done without the birds and bees flying around. We came and sat at the bar for dinner on a Monday night and we were able to grab seats right away. The first thing that we noticed was how beautiful the restaurant was and how it felt like something plucked straight from the mediterranean. We were immediately greeted by our bartender Sean and he set the bar high for the evening with amazing recommendations/tips, drinks, and great conversation. They start you off with a basket of complimentary fresh bread and a large plate of delicious dip. The appetizers and entrees were amazing. A little pricey for the average person, but you absolutely get what you pay for as the portions are generous and tasty. For appetizers we order the calamari and taverna fries and for entrees I had the lamb sandwich with a side of tabbouleh and my partner had the pastichio dish. I loved every bite of my lamb but unfortunately my partner wasn't too jazzed about his entree (it was a bit bland for his tastes) and it's not something he'd order again. We left with a full meals worth of leftovers as we definitely underestimated the portion sizes and over ordered. All in all it was a fantastic experience (with much of the credit to our amazing bartender) and we will be back. read more

We came to eat with a party of 4 adults and 2 small children. Loved the patio dining area. The food was good, especially the bread and house dip. What prevented our dining experience from being great was the service and other guest's dogs at a nearby table. The server we had did the minimum amount of work to get by and get a tip. Never asked how the food was. Never cleared out plates at the end of the meal so we can enjoy the company of one another after eating, and every time we needed something it was difficult to flag him down. The bill suggests a minimum 18% gratuity. I paid around twenty percent as I always do, but looking back at our experience the service just wasn't worth that much. read more

Disappointing lunch with odd, off-putting service. My wife and I wanted to split a couple of appetizers and so many of them sounded terrific on the menu - we started by asking the waiter what appetizers he'd recommend, and he responded that "everything on the menu is good." (Reasonable enough.) Having narrowed it down to a few possibilities, we then asked him for help choosing among them - he got kind of irritated and said "look, you aren't going to get me to say that any of our dishes are bad." First of all, that's not at all what we were doing; second, I'm not sure anyone has ever been so steadfast in refusing to offer any thoughts or input; third, what's with the vaguely confrontational tone? It was just a really sour note that made things kind of awkward with him for the rest of the meal. We ended up ordering the kefthethes (meatballs) and the saganaki (flaming cheese) from the appetizers and splitting the jumbo prawns. The keftethes had great flavor but were so, so dry - like devoid of moisture. The jumbo prawns were overcooked and underseasoned. And the saganaki was tasty enough but came with several lemon seeds from the tableside preparation (which includes lemon juicing as well as flambeeing). The best thing we ate by a considerable margin was the complimentary bread and garlic dip. We probably won't be returning anytime soon, unfortunately. read more

My family has come here for years and this my first time coming here with my adult palate (haha) and this is without a doubt, one of the few long standing gems of Southern California. We dined during the daytime and it's a great upper scaled casual restaurant that has both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Getting down to business we started off by ordering two appetizers : the Fried Calamari and the Hummus with Pita. The fried calamari was fresh and we honestly killed it in less than 10 minutesI'm pretty critical about seafood so the tenderness and the "melt in your mouth" sensation of their calamari was great. Ordering hummus and pita is practically a requirement when dining at any Mediterranean or Greek restaurant, and theirs did NOT disappoint. For entrees, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and my boyfriend ordered the Salmon. Their portions are pretty large so by meal's end, we were so full but not uncomfortably weighed down. Found a bug in my food. The waiter didn't care and the management never responded to my e-mail. I wanted to be fair and give them a few extra days because of the holiday, but still no response. When I pointed out the bug, the waiter didn't bother to apologize, took the unfinished item off the table and didn't replace it. There was no attempt to make us feel better about our experience. Great, friendly service. This is a Greek restaurant across from the mall in Malibu, and it's a great space, really large and open and comfortable with a large patio. But interestingly, despite how large it is, it feels sort of homey. We were hungry and in the area, and although we rarely stop to eat in Malibu (often unnecessarily expensive and overhyped), we decided to give this a try, and are really happy that we didl. First of all, the complementary blended eggplant dip and bread that came as an appetizer was flavorful and delicious, and I couldn't stop eating it. The dolma was some of the best dolma I've had in a West Coast restaurant (not someone's home, though, but look, I've had homemade dolma from Armenian, Syrian, Lebanese, Persian, and Greek people who are great at cooking, and you just can't beat that)...and if you consider that I eat a lot of dolma in places like West L.A. and Glendale, that's really saying something. Everything was absolutely cooked to perfection and delicious. And yeah, like you would expect in Malibu, it was not cheap, but in this case, I felt that it was warranted because it actually was a cut above, and I'm willing to pay more if food is actually better. Honestly, very strange experience . Ok good things first: The location is good, ambiance is good and that's pretty much it. Came to this place on Saturday which is pretty busy day especially in Malibu . Sat at the bar. Asked for 2 wine samples so I can choose one. Got my wine taste, both glasses had greasy fingerprints. Ordered Caesar salad added shrimp. Salad came out within the next 20 min, but served with a spoon . Obviously I'm by myself and wasn't planning to share with anybody and spoon definitely wasn't something I needed. Asked bartender for a fork but he didn't hear me ...had to wait another couple minutes to finally get his attention and ask again for silverware. Salad was absolutely mediocre,definitely could be better. Shrimp ok, salad dressing was tasteless. I ate less than a half a salad when same bartender approached me checking if I need more wine and when I said no he replied: -" you look too relaxed , where are you going after?".... excuse me? What a question is that ... Honestly,I feel like in a nice restaurant in Malibu, you kind of expect better service, I would say more appropriate and trained staff than just treating you like drive through place. I ordered the lamb kleftiko & it had a good flavor, not too salty, but a little on the dry side. Ordered the peasant salad, which wasn't good especially for the price of $18.95.
