Best place ever. We don't live close by but anytime we pass through, stopping here is a must. Their list of shakes is unreal and you can't go wrong with anything. The burgers and all the sides are so good

What a great place!!!! Love that they have indoor & outdoor seating!!! We ordered a patty melt w/ no onions, fries, & cheese curds. Patty melt was delish!!! I loved the sauce & the patty was well seasoned!!!! Fries-no need 2 add salt as they were seasoned perfectly!!! Cheese curds were ok, wish they would've came w/ a dipping sauce. Service was great!!! It was pretty popping so we did have a small wait 4 the food.

Corn dog could've been fried longer. Same with chicken tenders. Onion rings, fries and fish and chips were all 10/10

This is a small local spot. You don't go here for amazing food, but it's good. Service is great. We love the Eagle fries(basically like in n out animal fries but I think better) and onion rings. Fish and chips were the favorite.

This is a really solid choice when in Loomis for a quality burger and shake spot. Fries here were really good as well. Plenty of parking available and it's only a couple minutes from the freeway. Order at the window and wait for your name to be called. Drinks come out first then food is either brought to you outside or waiting for you at the window you just ordered from. It was a pretty busy Saturday evening when my family and I stopped by but service was moving really fast. We stepped outside, grabbed a table and watched as cars and people passed by on the main strip of Loomis. Within 20 minutes our name was being called and we were digging into the brown bag of food. Plenty of options here and everyone got something different; hot dog, cheese quesadilla, corn dog, 1/3 pound burger and mine, the mushroom Swiss burger. The mushrooms were caramelized perfectly then piled on the beefy patty. The buns were pretty good as well. I'd definitely order it again upon returning. I liked their fries as the seasoning was just right. Pretty sure it was just Lawry's but it wasn't too much and not too little either. I was an order short of fries and when I went in they corrected it right away and brought my order when ready. I appreciated that. Definitely a really cool homegrown spot with local people eating inside and working as well. It has that American menu with American service and feels that is rarely found anymore. Taylor's will be getting my business again.

If you go up the road just a few miles to auburn you definitely will get a better burger and fries and milkshakes! And ice cream cone ! And the price point is way better also! Go to Burgers and cream! Taylors has terrible service, grease hamburger, and baby bear portions of cones, with papa bear prices! 8.5 miles way worth the extra 10 minutes up the hill! Absolutely the best strawberry shakes! Burgers and Cream! A must go!

Im a local who visits taylors a lot and have had lots of varying experiences but tonight left me feeling like I wont be back. The staff seemed to be very untrained tonight as there were lots of issues being had with several costumers while we were in there picking up our food. Did our best to check our order while in the restaurant but came home and found bacon missing on a bacon cheeseburger, another burger totally covered in sauce and grease which soaked into the bun and made it a practically inedible sloppy mess, onions on the burger we asked for no onions, a missing soda, AND we received an extra patty melt we didn't order that I assume was supposed to go to someone else... wildly unhappy with tonight's experience

I really enjoy eating here. The food is always good and the staff are friendly and polite. It's a little like going back in time, great little neighborhood restaurant. The milkshakes are a real treat. The latest one I had was banana and it was perfect.

From the outside, Taylors enticed me with its 50's diner look, easy parking, quaint downtown Loomis location, and many ice cream signs. Inside, I liked the typical greasy spoon menu. I observed customers ordering chili and vanilla soft serve ice cream cones. The young servers were patient and helpful answering my questions about the milkshakes. Two popular shake flavors are Oreo and Mint Chip. One server's favorite is Mud Pie, which is similar to Rocky Road. Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry also made the Top 5 Shakes list. 1) Oreo 2) Chocolate 3) Vanilla 4) Strawberry 5) Mint Chip Look for the small asterisk (*) after the shake flavor if you want a Chocolate Soft Serve Base. I finally spotted that at the bottom of my pics. Sadly, my Peppermint Cheesecake shake looked and tasted like vanilla: a very faint cheesecake flavor and absolutely zero peppermint flavor. I should have stuck with a popular or recommended or more basic milkshake flavor, but I was on the hunt for a mandarin orange milkshake or peppermint milkshake. I found out their mandarin milkshake was made with a flavored syrup, so I vetoed that. I don't think the server really knew what the pink and blue highlights meant on the rotating shake menu inside the restaurant, suggesting it was different ice cream bases, like vanilla versus chocolate. Looking at my pics, I still can't figure it out. Menu color contrast and readability? I just noticed the top flavor when the pink or blue highlight begins is underlined, so maybe that is the featured seasonal or fresh or special add-in ingredient (i.e., banana, blackberry, cantaloupe, chocolate, peanut butter) for the subsequent flavors listed below it. Mango was underlined, and I was informed that was a fruit puree. I'm guessing the almond flavor is a flavored syrup. Does that imply all the flavors written in black are created from flavored syrups? Hmm, you may want to ask how a specific shake flavor is made before ordering it. Ask if they actually have that flavor of ice cream or the ingredients. The weekend before Christmas, you could buy a $18 10 lb bag of mandarin oranges from a local farm, Orchard Girl Mandarins. Tip: Free Kids Cone if you're at the register when a train whistles.

This abnoxious young kid with pink hair just yelled at me to get out of the store in the heat in front of everyone in the restaurant and form a line outside very rudely, now normally I would leave and never come back, but I've been coming for years and the shakes are extraordinary, but the way this kid and his customer service was he needs to be checked cause I would've written him up TWICE if he worked for me, he didn't need to be such a jerk! I was at the menu and line was moving!

As much as I leave reviews based on the food I also enjoy my times eating at places when I feel like the staff are exceptional in their hospitality. The gentleman behind the counter was very informative and ultimately polite and even checked in on us as we were seated. So I will say that it was a comfortable environment and more importantly, the shake flavors sounded delicious, making it hard to choose one of their 100 varieties. I eventually went for the dark chocolate almond butter shake, a western burger and some fried Mac and cheese. Everything tasted good and I would go back again to try something else from their menu. Went here on a Sunday with a couple families so we could have lunch and the kids could play on the splash pad afterward. It's a cool little spot right on the main drag near a splash pad and a couple other spots if a burger stand doesn't suit you. It looked like it was going to be great, up until we ordered. There was no line when I ordered and it must have taken at least 20 minutes to get my food. I ordered a patty melt, onion rings, fries, kids tenders, and a jr burger. You'd think it was easy to make, but it took excruciatingly long. The kids working the counter were nice and polite, it just seemed like the food took forever to come out. And if you have hungry and restless kids, you know why that's an issue. The onion rings were great! Awesome ranch too. The patty melt tasted great, but my biggest complaint is how small the patty was compared to the rye bread. After what seemed like taking two bites of the burger, the rest was bread. Next time I'd for sure get just a regular burger.

Visited this place today for the very first time with couple of my colleagues. Got the cantaloupe shake which was amazing. Also got a grilled cheese sandwich which was alright, wished it was more toasted and bigger... one of the workers brought half of a shake for free because it was our first time at the place, which was very kind and impressive. Will definitely go back to try more of their amazing variety of shakes read more

My kids love the ice cream and milkshakes but I don't think you should stay for lunch. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and there was literally one piece of pastrami on it. I thought it was a joke but no. Just the one piece of pastrami. I looked in the kitchen and there was a kid making sandwiches who didn't have any idea how to make a pastrami sandwich. I should've just had a milkshake. Damn good milkshakes though. read more

The place was packed and the wait for food was about 20 min which i felt was fair. The shakes are wonderful. Ordered a banana cream pie shake and i literally had a whole slice of pie. The onion rings were excellent. The chili cheese fries were good and plenty. Wouldn't have minded some diced onion. The cheeseburger was solid. The bun had a corn dusting and bun to burger ratio was good. The cheese was american with toppings of lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle with ketchup/mustard. The food was a-ok, the shakes were as good as it gets. read more

New location! A huge selections of shakes. The four of us had burgers and fries. It was great! the new location -- much larger than the old one down the road - there's inside seating. It's about a mile or so east of the previous location and on the opposite side of the road. It's right by the intersection of Taylor Road and Horseshoe Bar Road. read more

I can't help but love this place. It has the small town charm, the regulars that come in and all the comfort food you can imagine. PLUS they have the best blueberry shake I've ever tasted. (And I've tasted a lit of them!) They also have the largest shake menu you've ever seen! read more

It's a good place to get a shake but I wouldn't say the food is fabulous. It has the nostalgic atmosphere I like in a burger joint. Great, local business though. It's a great location in Loomis. Close to a lot of other small businesses and local hangouts. read more

Basic fare, burgers, grilled cheese, fries, etc.... and so many flavors of milk shakes, that we changed our mind about what to have 3 times while we waited in line. The place was very busy, as it was the day of the Del Oro Marching Band Spectacular, and the town of Loomis was crawling with band kids and their families, as well as soccer kids coming from their games. But the staff was friendly, polite in spite of the crowd. The food was ready quickly, and they came outside to find us when it was ready. It was very tasty, and suited my burger craving perfectly. An excellent experience for our first time there. We'll be back! read more

2nd time here and just as delicious. Ordered a hamburger, double cheese burger, fries, onion rings and a date shake. Total bill $24. Be prepared to wait for service on a Sunday afternoon, but the food was hot and fresh. Fries and onion rings were crispy and not greasy! However, I wouldn't order the date shake again. They only put 1 level scoop of date paste and mix it in the vanilla ice cream so you don't taste the date flavor. But their strawberry shakes are very good. Yes, we'll be back! read more

Tons and tons of different shakes and malts to choose from. If your bad with decision making just ask for what's popular since you might have trouble deciding what flavor you want! Burgers are pretty good and the staff is cool. Being local and coming in from a hot morning; it was nice in the summer they have iced water and cups available right when you walk in too. read more

I kept driving buy Taylor's and always wanted to go in I am so glad I did. The Burgers are fantastic and the Taylor chips are to die for. I have had the Double bacon cheese burger and it is one of the best burgers I have ever had. Also the malts and milkshake selection is staggering really whatever taste or craving you may have they have you covered. I recommend this place to anyone that will listen it is just great great food and a warm friendly atmosphere.. read more

I went yesterday with my daughter n law!! we brought are dogs and sat out side! It was her first time. Yum Yum! Onion Rings so so good. I had a burger with mushrooms and cheese. the meat was overcooked.But that was my fault. I should have had them cook it medium rare! We will be back soon!! read more

So disappointed! I have been coming here for years and have always appreciated that the owners employ local teens - until tonight. I went in at about 7:15 to grab a burger before heading back down the street to work. The girl at the counter obviously knew the couple she was helping and was discussing the $300 worth of clothes she had in her trunk from shopping earlier. I waited while they visited and talked about the friendship between the couple and the girl's parents and discussed what they had all been doing together an hour earlier. After waiting for almost 10 minutes, I asked one of the other TWO girls who were standing behind the counter watching the conversation if I could order from one of them. Yes, I said it a little curtly - on purpose. The girl stopped talking and acknowledged me for the first time since I walked in 10 minutes prior. "Whew," she said as she glanced at me, then to the couple "that was a little cold." As I started to order, I changed my mind, told the girl that she was out of line and left. I'm gonna miss the burgers and shakes my family have enjoyed there for over a decade. read more

I've eaten now here several times either by myself or with my family. We have always had friendly and timely service. The food is also good. No place is perfect and Taylor's doesn't try to be. What they are is a good quality hamburger joint that happens to make some very good shakes. My kids are pretty honest about what they like and they like Taylor's. That's good enough for me. read more

Amazing classic american diner. Some of the best cheeseburgers and THE BEST shakes and shake selection I have ever found. Can get a little busy but feels like a great place where a small town gathers to eat and talk over some great food. Death By Chocolate shake...to die for!!! *see what I did there* read more

I have eaten at Taylor's many times over the years. I won't be eating there again, except for a milkshake now and then. The quality of the food has gone way down, the wait time for a simple burger has always been absurd, but this last time the burger was cold, pink inside, after I specified well done and the bun was colder. Not to mention they put ketchup on my swiss mushroom burger. It was gross. The girl at the register was snotty, never smiled and looked plain annoyed to be there. The staff delivering food to the people outside had the same snotty attitude. Maybe the owners should hire teenagers that can appreciate that without customers they would not get a paycheck. I live close by, but work in Roseville and will not be recommending people drive up Taylor Road to go to Taylor's anymore. read more

Best veggie burger ever! They also have a ridiculous amount of shakes. And cinnamon rolls. Sometimes they sell preserves and fresh fruit. Come to think of it, you could probably eat only at Taylor's the rest of your life and be happy. I know I would be. read more

Stopped here after my Daughter's Wrestling Tournament So we decided to stop bye before heading home I ordered the Teriyaki Buger My Husband ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. .. I would have to say it is the Best Hamburger place I have ever eaten at & they have the Best ice ..definitely will be back wish we lived closer =) read more

I think we can see the Oreo shake has real Oreos, ditto the Twinkie, PB cup, and Chip shakes, etc. -- but my concern are fruit flavors. I detest Torani Syrups, and wonder if most of the fruit flavors rely on "flavoring" and not fruit or mix-ins?

Kay, thanks for the question. Some of the fruit flavors are indeed syrup based, but not all. It depends on the flavor. When looking at our menu at order.taylorsloomis.com look for shakes that have puree or real fruit to help with your decision.

It's tucked away next to a service station, and many might assume it's just another roadside dive with average food. Nothing could be further from the truth. This place serves high-quality food with outstanding service and a relaxed atmosphere. Following the hostess's recommendations, my wife and I decided to share several of the restaurant's most popular items so we could sample a little bit of everything. The shrimp tacos were absolutely fantastic and completely lived up to the hype. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, they were easily one of the highlights of our meal. Next came the fried pickles, which were our way of testing the waters. They had a crunch similar to fried zucchini but with even more flavor. Add a little ranch dressing and you're in business. It was juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Another home run. The outdoor patio provided a great setting for lunch, complete with good music and a relaxed atmosphere. It made for an enjoyable afternoon and a memorable dining experience. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and we will definitely be back. One final insider tip for my fellow retired folks: Friday afternoons between 2:00 and 4:00 seem to be a great time to stop in. We've heard the fish and chips and chowder are local favorites, and they'll be at the top of our list the next time we visit. The kids' meals are a great value. The two-protein platter was enough for two meals if you wanted it to be. The tacos were filled generously and were very tasty. I enjoyed the coleslaw- though I read some others find it bland. I did not think that at all. I really enjoyed the selection of sauces available at Buckhorn. They have a pump-your-own-sauce station with several types of BBQ sauce, horseradish sauce, ketchup, and spicy ranch. Yum! My favorite was the mustard-based BBQ sauce. Overall, I would totally return to Buckhorn. I could probably lean 4 stars here, but I think it's a better spot for BBQ than many others in my area and in the Roseville area that I've tried. Our server introduced himself, but communication was difficult throughout the meal. We ordered drinks and asked for a few minutes to review the menu. When we asked what the soup of the day was, he initially told us clam chowder, then immediately said he needed to go find out. More than 10 minutes later, he returned, and when we asked again, he admitted he had forgotten and left once more. After another lengthy wait, he finally informed us the soup of the day was split pea. We then attempted to order a pizza and were told that pizzas could not be ordered until 10:30 a.m. At the time, it was only around 9:30 a.m. I decided to order the Peach & Prosciutto Flatbread appetizer instead, only to be told that couldn't be ordered either because it was made in the oven. None of this was communicated when we were first seated, nor was it noted on the menu. It makes little sense to open at 9:00 a.m. while offering guests a menu containing multiple items that aren't actually available for another hour and a half. Had this been clearly explained from the beginning, it would have saved a great deal of frustration. By this point, I was hot, irritated, and no longer interested in ordering food. Had we not already received our drinks, I likely would have left. The other members of our party ordered the $21 breakfast burrito and the $25 smoked prime rib sandwich. Both were extremely mediocre for the price. The burrito was wrapped in a corn tortilla rather than a flour tortilla, had already come unrolled, and quickly became a messy, difficult to eat disaster. The prime rib sandwich was served on very dry bread and lacked flavor. Neither dish justified the premium pricing. The dining environment was equally disappointing, there were flies everywhere. We spent much of the meal swatting flies away from our food and ourselves, making it nearly impossible to relax or enjoy the experience. Management should seriously consider addressing this issue with proper fly traps or Quikstrike. After our food arrived, our server never returned to check on us, ask how the meal was, or offer water refills. When the bill was finally brought out, we waited another 10+ minutes before he returned to process payment. By then, we simply wanted to leave. What was most noticeable was how many people were waiting for tables while service moved at an incredibly slow pace. Faster, more attentive service would have allowed tables to turn over more efficiently and reduced wait times for other guests. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had here. Between the poor communication, lack of attentiveness, unavailable menu items, mediocre food, uncomfortable dining conditions, and excessive wait times, the value simply isn't there anymore. We left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The service we received warranted a $0 tip, and for the first time, we're questioning whether we'll ever return.

I usually don't write reviews but man, I'm so mad right now. I'm an angry father now. We checked Google and it said Taylor's was open until 7:30pm tonight. I wanted to order food online but the website said my order wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. I left to go do the pickup while my wife called the restaurant (at 6:47pm) to place our order by phone. When my wife called they told her they weren't taking online or phone orders. She said that I was ON MY WAY, DRIVING THERE, and they replied that I could order in person if I arrived by 6:55. I arrived at the counter at 6:57. I told them they should have an order ready for me (thinking they took my wife's order) but no they didn't have it. Instead, I was told that they shut down the grill. I asked why the grill was off since they weren't closed yet. They said I could talk to the manager, who confirmed they will be closed in 2 minutes. I replied "so you are open!" But the grill was shut down so they wouldn't prepare my order. I left angry to go tell my kids NO TAYLORS TODAY. They have been waiting for Sunday Taylors, but not this week, and probably not ever again. The fun at Taylors is not just the food, but the the spirit. Buttonight the team in charge didn't care. It's not their business, they just want to go home, and who cares about the brand. They didn't care that I wasted my time, my gas, or that my family's Sunday dinner was ruined. My wife called again when I told her they closed early. She mentioned the review was coming. They tried to convince my wife not to post it and promised the owner would call. Well I'm sorry but actions have consequences. If you work in the hospitality business, you should take customers until it's time to close, not before. And your hours listed on Google should match the hours you actually operate or else customers arrive only to be disappointed. Their website does mention 7pm (even if they closed the grill before that) but Google said 7:30pm and yelp mentions 9pm!!!! Maybe they should correct that, even if they don't really care., read more

I have frequented Taylors numerous times. It is small with limited seating but has tables outside on Taylor Road and the foot of Horseshoe Bar Road. It is generally clean and a menu of what you would expect from a small burger place. I normally expect to be greeted by the person behind the counter which seldom happens. The Female owner just stands there and doesn't even say hello or good morning etc. and not even a smile. I hope she tries HELLO AND WELCOME TO TAYLORS. When you leave despite you may be the only person there they don't even thank you for coming. Even driving through the local fast food places they always say hello even at the counter when you walk in! I seldom get the correct items on my burger I order and have become accustomed to double checking my order before I leave. These burgers are not the type you would brag about and the price for a drink plus fries gets pretty expensive. Their breakfast meal looks great but taste is another thing. The breakfast croissants I had tasted like they were stale. Eggs bland and no onions, peppers or even just plain old pepper in it. Ham or Bacon doesn't matter as the portions on the breakfast sandwich are tiny. The breakfast cinnamon rolls are not gourmet or even that good. I can tell by their taste they weren't baked that same day or even the day before. There coffee isn't good but you could walk just feet outside the doors and get a good cup of coffee across the street. We didn't know what we were walking into, but Taylor's turned out to be such a fun surprise! This little 50s-style diner is full of charm and personality. The first thing that caught our attention was the milkshake menu -- over 100 different combinations! It's almost overwhelming, in the best way. Had lunch on a business trip through Loomis today. $9.75 for a cheeseburger, onion rings, and a small soda. This place isn't a bargain. Waited about 15 minutes for my order; the place was very busy. I ate everything, I was very hungry. That said, the food was ordinary. The burger wasn't seasoned very well and the hamburger patty was still a little pink in the middle. The onion rings did not have much flavor either. All the food was fresh and had good texture, just not much flavor worth writing about. The soft serve ice cream part of the business was very well developed from the 100 or so flavors of shakes on the wall menu. I doubt I'd stop there again when in Loomis, but my curiosity was satisfied from the visit. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! Extremely rude staff! The owner employs kids who don't care about customer service. We we witnessed free food being given away and food being eaten by employees. No responsible adults anywhere to be found. A friendly patron accidentally dropped his burger and, "Sarah" an employee, had the cook place the meat on a different bun. Totally disgusting! The owner needs to fire her and the rest of the disrespectful kids who work there! I will not be returning and will contact the BBB to inform them of the disgusting practice! This shop is just around the corner from my parent's shop, so I figured I would drop by on a whim and see what all the hubbub was about. I decided to take it slow and just order one of their more popular shakes (Mint chocolate chip). It was pretty good, the texture was nice, not overly sweet.
