Not to mention a beautiful display of teapots to add to your collection. They also provide an assorted array of tea bags to choose from if you're into that instead! As a plus, they sell these delicious British confectionaries from Cadbury that work perfectly well with your tea! Tea Cozy is a perfectly lovely tea shop. They carry a nice selection of tea accessories and a reasonable selection of loose leaf tea. The owners/people that work there are always friendly and helpful. I like their packaging with resealable mylar (?) bags which should be standard. This is the best place to buy tea in the Sacramento area hands down! The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, they really take their time with you. I really appreciate that. You can get teas from around the world. I like creamy black tea on the sweeter side. My absolute favorite is English caramel. The tea has little squares of freeze dried caramel in it that melt when you steep it. Yum! They also have a large selection of green teas. You get to smell the tea to see if you like it. Pros: Located next to The Fox and Goose, this little tea shop is well-stocked with a wonderful selection of teas and related accessories (tea pots, cozies, travel mugs, etc.) Prices are reasonable. Service was helpful and friendly. They gift wrap. The "Apple of my Eye" tea I bought is delicious! Cons: it was incredibly annoying that when it came time to pay there was a tip prompt on the screen, and the salesgirl looked on expectantly. I am customarily a generous tipper in restaurants, Uber, valets, etc., but to be asked to tip in a retail store is ridiculous! The "reward" for good customer service is for a customer to actually buy something, and maybe come back again. read more

I've been missing the UK something fierce, as I'm coming up on almost a decade since my last visit. This is every Anglophile's dream! I'm always looking for places that sell digestives and lion bars, for one. Additionally, what a lovely collection of tea she has here! Loose leaf, Taylor's (I was specifically on the look out for Scottish Breakfast and it didn't take me long to find it.), Twinings, and all the additional bits and bobs. I found everything I came in for and extras as well. When I enquired after some other products my family fell in love with during our last visit, I was assured that they could look into ordering them for me. The shop is small, but according to the owner, she started out in an even smaller part of the same little annex 17 years ago. For the size, there is quite a selection. The owner takes her time with each customer and she is very knowledgeable about the tea she carries. She introduced me to serenity tea which is a mix of camomile and lavender, needless to say best sleep potion ever. Not only is the quantity and quality great at Tea Cozy, but so is the price. My brother has always sent me Tea Cozy selections to my home in L.A. so it was great getting to visit in person! They've got a great selection of loose leaf teas that you can buy by the ounce (most are $2 an oz FYI). I very easily could've been there a long time just smelling the different types trying to figure out which one(s) I'd be walking home with. It was a tough call! They also said they can send me tea directly so they might be getting some mail orders from me! Just something to keep in mind: they close a bit in the late afternoon. I'm assuming for lunch/dinner. I've been searching for quite some time now for a reliable loose leaf tea reseller in the Sacramento area and stumbled upon Tea Cozy online. Read all reviews and everyone had nothing but praises and positive comments about this place. Called the place to inquire about their products and the person I spoke to, Linda, convinced me to pay them a visit. Intrigued by the reviews and my conversation with Linda, I decided to stop by yesterday. The person who helped me was very accommodating and knowledgeable of their product. Due to disappointing experiences from previous tea resellers I was reluctant to buy a bigger bag. I ended up purchasing a 2 oz bag of the Ti Kuan Yin oolong to sample at home. It was so delightful to find out that everything I've read about the teas from Tea Cozy were 100% accurate. I finally found my new go to place for loose leaf teas! Not only do they sell a high quality product at a very affordable price, the customer service is top notch! I went back the following day to get more tea. Same as yesterday, customer service was superb! Marym (sorry if i misspelled your name ) recommended 3 varieties; White Divine Temple, Peppermint Patties Rooibos; Temple of Heaven Gunpowder. This has to be the cutest shop ever! Thanks to Alex T and Bridget, who took us by there after brunch! They have the cutest novelities and some of the best selection of loose leaf teas i have seen in Sac! The part I liked the most were the imported foods! I got some original Campbells creamed tomato soup (you can't buy it here), some great British candies, and lots of other canned goods. Staff is really knowledgeable and helpful. The aroma in there is delightful and you do feel nice and cozy when your there! I'll be back...great gift items as well! read more

I've walked past this building so many times, but never thought to look inside to check out the different mini shops they have in the area. My friend and coworker ended up asking if I wanted to walk to with them here on a cloudy day. Since I am pregnant and needed to find some good quality decaf teas, I decided to come along with them. Little did I know, this place is like tea heaven! I asked for a decaf tea for colds, as I felt like I was coming down on something and didn't want to take any medication. They gave me one that was literally called "Cold Chaser." Lol. I've been drinking this tea when I feel an itch in my throat or a headache coming and so far it has helped me! I also asked about tea for producing breast milk. (Sorry for the TMI). I wanted to make sure that after I give birth, I have options to take decaf tea for better production. She gave me what they recommended and I am quite excited to try that one out sometime next month or so. I also purchased another tea from them. This one in particular was just to help me wind down and get some sleep since I've been feeling so uncomfortable and unable to sleep properly. I still have yet to try this one out, but I do plan to soon. Especially now that I am in my third trimester and sleep is getting harder for me. Lastly, since most of their teas are loose leaves, they have these cute little disposable pouches that you can fill your tea with and then discard after use. These are definitely lifesavers! So thrilled. So so happy to know that a short drive from home I have my own little tea pantry. I love a good cafe as much as the next millennial, but I'll take tea over coffee any day and, really, when it comes to tea, I'm happy to steep my own and not pay for the experience (though there are certainly moments when that's all I want). Tea Cozy provides a wide selection of teas and accompaniments (i.e. accessories and sweet treats). They offer both organic and non-organic options, all at competitive prices. The staff member on the rainy day we stopped in was helpful but also gave us our space ("I'm filling these canisters, but I'm available to help you any time, just let me know"). Even better, they offer both discounts for large purchases and a membership loyalty program that's free to sign up for and gives you a future discount after you spend all that cash you're already bound to spend on your tea addictio---hobby...And am I ever enjoying the teas. A hidden gem. Such an amazing selection of loose leaf teas and very fair prices (typically about $2.50/oz). They have all kinds of exotic teas including jasmine dragon phoenix pearls, specialty blends, and basic teas. I normally get loose teas like this at Teavana (which is super over priced) or at Asian or Russian markets (which you do not get to smell/ sample prior to purchase ). Plan on coming back to get many for Christmas gifts. Keep in mind that the store is tucked in the back hall of an indoor "mall"? Or hallway? Upon my first visit I asked about a Japanese tea, she grabbed a tea cup, and poured me a glass. I was impressed. She then spent twenty mins with me while I looked at and smelled different kinds of teas. She sold me so many great teas, I have been back several times since. She also has a rewards program. I have no problem admitting complete ignorance, so I walked in here looking for a gift without knowing much about tea and said so. I even admitted I don't drink tea. The woman who helped me was very understanding, knowledgeable and patient. I'm glad I came here, and will definitely be back for more tea gifts. Heck, one of the loose-leaf teas I bought smelled so good that I'm secretly tempted to come back and get some for myself. First read about this place in the local Neighborhood reader and being a daily tea drinker at work, wanted to explore the many kinds of loose leaf tea out there! Shop is located next to other small stores in the same building as Fox & Goose & plenty of parking options! There are cup containers with the tea leaves and you can look at them and give it a sniff before you make your choice. You can purchase the tea leaves by ounce, or they have pre-packaged 1.5 ounces bags you can purchase. They have all sorts of black and green tea as well as oolong and white. I purchased a black rose (which was surprisingly really good! I was a little scared at first because it smelled like a potpourri and those are not made for eating...). I forget that tea also has many health benefits, and rose was a good one for me! A 1.5 ounces bag lasted me a whole month! I'm currently sipping on some 'wild strawberry' and it tastes just as good as it smells. :) read more

Tea Cozy is a must visit for anyone who is into tea. It might seem a little overwhelming when you first walk in with the many tins of tea on the shelves behind the counter. The lady behind the counter was very helpful, but because we didn't know what we wanted at all, we just picked a tea by smell. There is a rack with most of the teas in jars that you can open and smell. Some of the jars are hard to open so make sure you bring a friend with a strong grip. I ended up with a strawberry black tea. It smells like jello when I brew some up, but it tastes really good! I want to try all the teas here, but my 1.5 oz of tea leaves last at least 20 cups of tea so it will take a while before I try all the different types. read more

What a cool tea shop! The selection here is very good, as are the prices. You'll get quality loose leaf tea for a very reasonable bargain. They also have plenty of tea supplies (pots, filters, serving sets, etc.), and a few British snacks as well. There's a fair amount of parking along R Street out in front of the building, so it's a pretty convenient location. I really appreciated how friendly the family of owners were when I stopped in.
