My friend ordered the Grasshopper at 75% sweetness, and I ordered Liquid Gold at 50% sweetness. To be honestly thought both would be way too sweet, but based on other reviews I figured Teaspoon drinks would need higher sweetness levels. For reference, I usually order milk teas at 25% sweetness for other places, and most recently 50% sweet at Tastea for a fruit tea. Both drinks were perfect at their respective sweetness levels. I like that the Grasshopper is very refreshing, and it tastes really fresh! I was curious to taste the green cucumber part on its own, and I would totally drink just that part alone. I usually don't care much for cucumber/cucumber infused drinks either! As for the Liquid Gold, I was underwhelmed. I was trying to decide whether I wanted that or the Creamy Jasmine. I do like jasmine teas a lot more, but I decided to go with Liquid Gold since it's more of a menu staple, and people have said great things about it. I thought this drink would have some separation between the layers like in the picture but there wasn't any separation. It looked like a plain milk tea I could have gotten anywhere else, and tasted like your standard oolong tea. We didn't get boba for our drinks so I don't have any comments about it. They did provide samples of lychee black tea and hojicha milk tea. I only tried the hojicha sample and it was better than my Liquid Gold drink. Wish I got that or tried Creamy Jasmine instead! Service was okay, the cashier seemed disinterested. There are 5 tables in the shop, one of which is a larger table that can probably seat 6-8. All of the other tables can seat two people on individual chairs and there's a long bench that runs along the wall, then allowing maybe 2 more people per table. The shop is fairly clean, and there is wi-fi, but no bathroom if you want to sit there for extended periods of time to study. The shop also experiences waves of busy-ness, so not exactly an ideal study location...for weekends at least. read more

I came to this Milpitas location, which is in a big plaza, with plenty of parking. They have some very high quality offerings which include organic cream, freshly brewed tea, and organic ingredients. This obviously bumped up the price a little bit, but it wasn't too off the charts for a standard boba. I tried their regular boba milk tea and the virgin mojito. While the boba wasn't bad, the milk tea tasted pretty watered down, which was surprising given the standard sweet/ice option and the fact that they use cream and not milk. I did enjoy the mojito, which was quite refreshing and not as watered down, but I always love any kind of jasmine tea-based drink. The tea itself tasted very fresh. The service was pretty good and pretty standard for most boba places. No lines here in the morning. I've been to almost all the Teaspoons in South Bay and I can safety say that all of them brew their teas perfectly. I normally get the liquid gold at 50% or 75% sweet depending on my mood and it's perfect every time. My ideal milk tea is one where you can taste the actual tea and this places makes it to the point where you can still taste it even after all the milk and tea is mixed it. The tea flavor doesn't get that diluted like other tea places. The only reason why it's not a 5 star is the weak honey boba game. The only location that has made it taste like honey boba is the SF location and this place needs to get onto that level. Aside from that, the tea itself is for sure a 5/5. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to finally try this place after driving past it all the time. My coworkers would come here all the time. They have drinks and shaved ice. Their decor is cute with tables that has teaspoon carved into it. We ordered the Classic Thai Tea and Mango Funtime. The mango smoothie was really delicious. It reminds me of Jamba Juice. Found this through Yelp while waiting for our fried chicken, searching for "taro milk tea" around Milpitas. This is a nice place, located in the same strip as Layang-Layang and Von's Chicken, and a great alternative to Gong Cha --- I must say they're quite equally matched: for what they lack in quantity/variety (Gong Cha having a HUGE list of drinks and being more customizable) they make up for in quality --- with a nice selection of specialty drinks apart from the usual bubble milk tea, and a very nice atmosphere. Their "Taro Lover" drink is amazing, flavourful, with real taro root pieces crushed and blended in! I'll be frequenting their Mountain View outlet more, since it's a shorter drive for me than the nearest Gong Cha, now that I've had a taste and feel of what they're like. I ordered the lychee milk tea with half lychee jelly and half crystal boba (so glad they let you do half and half on toppings). The drink was pretty good, and luckily the lychee flavor was not bitter like it is in many other boba spots. I got 100% sweetness, and it was nice and definetely not overwhelmingly sweet. We decided to take a leap of faith and not look at Yelp reviews before purchasing. Honestly it was all such a pleasant surprise! The shop is really dainty with all these little quotes on the wall. Dessert We ordered a california snow (avocado snow topped w/ almond flakes & white mochi & condensed milk). It was soosoo good! It didn't really taste like avocado, but might be because of the condensed milk. It wasn't overly sweet either. The white mochi was soft and that's how we were able to tell that it was fresh. They are finally open!!! I have been waiting ever since the sign was put up. Location: located in the Grocery Outlet shopping center where Paris Baguette and Jang Su Jang. Its to the right of the Grocery Outlet entrance and hard to see from Calaveras Blvd. There is a large parking lot that is shared with all the other businesses and can get crazy busy especially at lunchtime and weekends!!!! Shop: there are only about 10 small tables inside and no outdoor seating. The front counter and layout is much better than the Los Altos shop as there is more room to wait around for your order. All the Teaspoon locations I have been to have a very simple and clean decor and this one is no different. Drinks: One of my favorite places to grab a tea drink. They brew the tea fresh for each drink with a machine similar to those expresso machines seen like at Starbucks. The menu may not be as extensive as most boba places but the quality makes up for that. I find most boba tea drinks are way too sweet. I always try to order my drinks at 50% sweet and 30% ice or no ice. My favorite is the Grasshopper which is unique to this franchise and so refreshing on a warm day. Its green tea topped off with shot of fresh cucumber juice. Might not sound good to some of you BUT its really good. I have tried many of the other drinks at their other locations and all have been good. The honey boba is soft and chewy and never have been disappointed. Hours: Currently, the hours are 12:00 to 8:00 for the soft opening. The cashier mentioned that it might be that for the next two weeks. They are still hiring and once they are fully staffed the hours will change to 11:00 a.m.to 10:00 p.m. There are no long lines yet like the other locations but that might change once the word is out that they are finally open. read more

A another new tea spot that just opened up in Milpitas Seen it was finally opened so my husband and I decided to try it out. We're always looking for new places to try out. The place is a by small and I believe I seen that the maximum capacity was about 25. So yes definitely a tiny spot, however the interior was simple but beautiful! Once we got in we were greeted by the cashier and was offered to try some samples. Already I was very pleased by their customer service 5 stars goes to them. My husband ordered the paradise lime and I ordered the house milk tea with pearls. My husband loved the paradise lime but for $4 it's a tad bit to pricey. With the house tea it tasted a bit watered down i don't know if it's because I chose the sweetness 50% but it just tasted watered down. Maybe next time I'll try out 75%. So happy I finally got to try this place out! I was having lunch in the same plaza and decided to grab some boba after my meal. It was around 2-3pm and the line was out of the door, only because the shop is actually quite small. It has a few tables but most people just order, stand to wait for their drinks, and leave. This is your typical boba spot with the typical boba drinks selection along with some others. Like most places, you can also choose and make your own drinks. But I was too lazy so... I picked the Liquid Gold, because it sounded good and also because of the name. It's basically an oolong tea with honey. I got half sweet thinking it was going to be to too sweet, but I was wrong. But it was still good though and had a very strong tea flavor, which I do like. But just remember to get the full 100% sweetness because my friend also got the same thing and got 100% and it was definitely better. Overall, I do like this place and hope to come back soon! The two milk teas were really delicious, but the strawberry sangria had a slightly strange bittersweet taste to it. It wasn't bad, but just different. I gave only 3 stars because of the service here. I had to wait around 5 minutes before I was even helped at the register, and then about 15-20 minutes for my milk tea, which they initially messed up the order for. Their staff is super unorganized and unprepared. We came in around opening time and saw that all of their chairs were still up and they didn't have any boba prepared. The wait for the boba was about 30 minutes. I also hate the shape of their cups. I've had my drink spill on me while driving because of how tall and skinny the cup is. Teaspoons is my current favorite boba tea place. I love their Liquid Gold drink and my hubby loves their shaved ice desserts. I don't see any difference between this particular shop compared to the other Teaspoons in the Bay Area. The only down side to this location is finding parking. First and definitely my last time here. This is probably the worse boba place I've ever tried and that opinion does not only come from me, but also the others that were there with me. For an after dinner treat, I wanted some pearl tea. I had passed by this place before when they had their grand opening. The line was out the door and I think they were having a special promotion. In my mind, I'm thinking that this place must be really good for that to be. Fast forward a few weeks. We come in, order three of their specialty drinks - the virgin mojito (lychee), the grasshopper, and the sweet marshmallow. The virgin mojito was overly sweet even though I got regular level of sugar and the mint overpowered everything. The grasshopper basically tasted like cucumber water. We couldn't find much lychee flavoring at all. The worse one was the sweet marshmallow. Tasted like watered down caramel, and again it was incredibly sweet. I swear I think they were all trying to give us diabetes. If I had known their normal sugar level was that much, I would have ordered the drinks with none at all.
