I would give this shop 0 stars if I could. My car battery kept losing charge. This shop diagnosed it as a bad alternator, twice! the vehicle was 7 years old and needed some other minor repairs. I spent nearly $1200. Only to have the vehicle catch fire in the Bellagio parking garage a week later due to a short in the ABS system, that Ted Weins misdiagnosed for a bad alternator. I took my truck there because I was referred by a friend. I needed my suspension replaced as it was pretty bad after 130k miles. They wanted to charge me $175 an hour to do the front end suspension. I told them I didn't realize my vehicle required open heart surgery. Mind you, this wasn't even a problem with the motor, transmission, or even electrical. So I took my girlfriends vehicle to go get an alignment done correct the car was just moving to the right a bit . They told me they weren't able to align her car because of the parts asked me if I wanted to install them told them I'm okay . Worker said he'd align it the best he can. Once he is done I take it he's says he aligned it the best he can now when I'm driving and hit 65 the steering wheel shakes horribly. Wasn't really angry at the fact they messed it up. What, made me more angry is that my girl called them telling them about there mistake THEY made on HER car and they are being very rude and unprofessional if maybe they knew how to do their job right the first time we wouldn't have this problem I don't recommend this place to anyone . 10/29/20 I had the pleasure of having my vehicle checked out by Ricky B. and Jonathan O. I came in to the shop by a referral from a coworker and I must say I was NOT disappointed. From the moment I walked in till the time I came to pick up my car, I felt my car was in good hands. There was nothing that I can complain about because I came in with the expectations of my car being fixed with the problems I had explained to them. My brake pedal would slammed all the way to the ground even though I had brand new brake pads, I would wobble on the freeway and sometimes on the side streets, and I had a clicking sound coming from the passenger side glove compartment. Sure they had some recommendations for me to do, however, they explained it was not life threatening. After driving the car for a few weeks now, my brake pedal is like brand new, I don't sway anymore, and the clicking sound is gone! Thank you so much to the team at Ted Wiens in Warm Springs. I needed my cooling and brake flushed along with differential service. Price was fair and was as advertised. Staff was knowledgeable and was even informed of tire scraping due to size, not a lot of places would be honest and upfront about things like that. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest repair business. My son, just out of college, recently moved to vegas for his first job. In trying to save a bit of money on pricey car repairs, he purchased his own parts from a local auto zone. When he brought said parts to the E. Warm Springs location, they jacked up the hourly rates by $30/hour. Who does that? They did this to a kid, just starting out, trying to be smart with his money. Where is the integrity there? I brought my black BMW 750 to see what was the problem ( it was shaking while I drove) after 30 min an idiot low qualified prototypes of mechanics tell me that I need to change about 2 parts charging me a total of 1,200$for the job and get rid of the problem. My dad was iffy about the situation so he decided to check all 4 tires and booom the problem was the right back tire that was about to pop , we change the tire for 60$ and now the car runs perfect. Rey and Ricky saved me $700 on my Subaru! I have been going to Ted Wiens for most replacements for about 7 years. I broke down closer to the dealer so I had the dealer do some repairs. In the process of doing the repairs in the engine other things came loose and were damaged. After replacing the Serpentine belt and Tensioner Assembly the Alternator was suspected bad, but Subaru let me drive away. I did not feel right about the repair and I had a check engine light on among other indicators. I brought my Subaru in to get it diagnosed and they found a damaged cable to the alternator. They did not have the cable or connector and it would have been $650 for parts and labor. Ricky suggested to take it back to Subaru and have them fix it. Subaru apologized and said it may have been damaged from the belt coming loose or it was damaged when the whole assembly was replaced. In the end the connector was no charge from Subaru and I owe a lot to Ted Wiens for helping me out! 7/22/13 What did confuse me was you had the parts listed twice, and then the $320. That seemed about right for the whole job. Then I called over to ask what your hourly rate was thinking that the $320 might be labor, the person on the phone told me a hundred an hour. At that point, I figured the $320 was for the whole job. People don't go to dealerships because of what they charge for labor. You should state that up front. Put a total number for the estimate of labor and parts, not some crazy math equation that only someone working in your building would understand. Thanks for the reply but it doesn't help. He was very professional with the follow up and kept me updated throughout the process of fixing it. So this is going to be a bit of an odd review, because I didn't actually have Ted Wiens do the repair work for my truck (my brother did it for a free dinner), but instead about how they treated me and how they handle business. Your mileage could defiantly very, but anyways, on with my experience. I called about having the radiator replaced, and the transmission flushed. Nissan Frontier V6 4.0 Liters have an issue where the radiator will fail, allow the transmission fluid & antifreeze to mix, causing catastrophic failure of the transmission, causing a ridiculously expensive replacement of the transmission, which makes the truck beyond economical repair. Anyways, I wanted the radiator replaced as preventative maintenance, and the representative I spoke to was very helpful and prepared a quote for me that was accurate to the penny, without ever meeting me, or any commitment. I researched all the places in town that carry my radiator and knew all the local retail prices, and in stock availability. He called me back, shortly after, gave me the price of the radiator itself, which was the retail price of the radiator, plus 30%, which is standard, and fair industry practice. He quoted me a labor price that was based on the book hours to complete the job, again standard industry practice and completely fair. As for the transmission flush, the price was the typical retail price of the job, 89.99 I think. Anyways, they handle your requests quickly, politely, and I'm confident that if I went in, they would get it right the first time. Had my brother not done it for me, for the cost of dinner, I would have gladly taken my truck in to Ted Wiens. read more

I noticed at lunch that my car was slow to start. Since this location came up as closest to my office, I went to have my battery looked at. Sure enough they said it needed to be replaced. They were really good about replacing the battery in under an hour so I could get back to work timely. However ... I didn't use my car for a week around Christmas and went back to pick it up on New Years. Dead. Deader than dead. Ridiculously dead. This $%^& battery was LESS THAN 6 WEEKS OLD. It was manufactured in Aug '11, installed in Nov '11, and DEAD by New Years '11. I was so busy working things related to CES that I'm just now able to get it taken care of - 30 days later. All my "car guy" friends said "Well if the battery is brand new, its probably your starter." and I accepted that as the car is now 5 years old so it didn't seem unreasonable. I got it towed to T&M on Silverado Ranch expecting to walk out with a minimum $500 bill and got a call that everything would total $47. I probably shouldn't have to pay the $47 either since the battery WAS 6 WEEKS OLD when it died, but T&M was helpful with the tow and everything else and I think its a fair price for their time. T&M said the battery wasn't salvagable and he couldn't believe the thing had only been manufactured a few months back. Luckily I have towing through my insurance or this would have cost another $100 and I would have been $100 more pissed. In short, I'm not happy I paid $116 for a battery that LASTED 6 WEEKS, but I'm glad I found a better repair place as a result. read more

I am updating my previous review to state that when I originally took my car in, it would occasionally make a clicking noise, which I was told by two other mechanics, meant the cv boot. After leaving Ted Wiens, not only is the clicking worse, my car has begun to grind and click constantly and louder than before. After my previous review, I was called by the store and told that it was the bearing that caused the problems, not the cv boot. My question is this: if the mechanic knew what was causing the issue, why didn't they fix it? If it was not my cv boot, and it was only my bearing, why wasn't that fixed instead? Not only am I out if $400, but I also have a vehicle I don't feel safe driving and has been parked since I picked it up from this shop.
