This is the worst shop! I've been bringing my car to this shop for a year. Always an up sell and rude customer service. Because the shop is walking distance from my place.. I kept going back. I could list several things done wrong. But I will address my most recent transaction.. I brought my car in last month, a week before Christmas, to change a daytime running light and a check a flickering temp gage. I had a oil leak I was aware of leaving small oil drips under my car so I used them to check that too while they had it because I've had so much work done! I wanted to see if it was an issue that was already addressed & warrantied. Chris knows me but is never friendly.. He said they would check everything out and told me I should leave and come back.. Because know they upsell.. I threw him a bone and told him I knew the issue was a rear seal just to see what they would come back with. 3hrs later and a steam clean up sell sure enough the problem was the seal. I was advised to not drive my car and to come back in 200mi? 2 days later! Huge oil spill under my car! No way! I take my car back and Im told the part is $15 labor 1000+.. Of course. Its the holidays? I rent a car from hertz for a week and feel I have no choice but to have them fix what they messed with because i knew they confirmed a BS problem I just threw out there. Ricky the new manager tells me they may or may not be able to fix this seal because I have an Audi and that a tech from another shop who had more experience works on Audi might be able to do it. More than mad because my car WAS NOT leaking masses of oil prior to my visit. A few days later Ricky calls me to say the tech from another shop could indeed fix my car and to drop it off.. Fine what ever. I bring my car in and don't hear a word for 2 days. So I call. Ricky informs me that my car was transferred to blue diamonds location? What! So call Mike. We aren't handling anymore. He's in charge of you account now. And that was it. Chris drove my car to that shop personally. So I parked my car rented a car and you were ok to drive it in undrivable conditions? No tow? So Mike and his crew at blue diamond.. I call. They don't know my history.. Turns out to be another 5 dollar part that still required them to drop my transmission. They fixed my car and sent me on my way. 2 days later all the antifreeze pours out of my car! A hose piece was completely disconnected. I take my car back to blue diamond.. They said it was an accident and tacked 2 areas back together and not with Audi parts. Now a week later my car is leaking oil again.. Seriously? Im not shocked. I call blue diamond and got John who told me I also have valve gasket leaks and that Ive signed off on it!!! What! I haven't went back to see if its another accidental issue or a problem with the work they've done in fear of something worse happening. Im seeking legal counsel. I know Ive been hustled. First off, is it possible to give negative stars? One star is a stretch. I came into this terrible place because I got a flat tire, so they ended up doing a full inspection. Besides the tires, everything was completely fine since I had just gotten my car maintenanced a month ago by a very trusted mechanic who has never let me down for years. After the inspection, they told me that my car was falling apart and that it was necessary to repair major parts. They told me that my filter was missing, and I was so confused, considering I do not know much about cars. I took this extensive list of "repairs" that had to be done to my mechanic and he informed me that Ted Wiens had taken out & stolen my filter since he JUST replaced it a month ago. They lied to me by telling me I was "missing" a filter when they clearly stole it. It was brand new, too. Ted Wiens Tire & Auto Center is full of it and you will get robbed of your money (and your car parts). They should even be shut down for theft. read more

Had a nail in the center of my brand new tire. Had it repaired here at Ted Wiens. My tire warning light goes on. Took it to a very highly rated tire shop. Repair was so poorly done that the new tire was ruined and I had to buy another new tire. I will never go back as I saw the poor repair that could not be fixed.I tried to resolve this with their Business Manager and produced all documentation as she requested. She said if they did bad work the tire would go flat immediately. I disagree. Ever hear of a slow leak that got worse over time? Bottom line, she refused to accept responsibility. There are many reputable tire shops in town. Be very careful in the one you choose. read more

I am satisfied customer and would absolutely return to this Ted Wien's location. The Manager, Mike is a stand up guy who really jumped in when things went seriously south. The short story: My oil light came on on my Land Rover, drove it in, they fixed me up immediately, recommended some future work and on I went. Cut to approx 2 wks later, I returned to get what was supposed to be a simple job done, and soon went from simple to over the next several days, receiving calls, informing me even more work was required. I was beyond consolation. I dropped everything and went in to speak with the Manager. That's when I met Mike. He listened to me intently, promised he would look into it and sort this out. Indeed he did. Mike was straight up and honest, told me what was going on, worked it out with me, provided me frequent updates....car fixed. Good as new. I took my truck in for a smog (and the truck passed). They then told me they were giving me no pass because the engine was not the one from the factory, I had this checked out and they were wrong. The fact that they change for a lie and they also tried to sell me parts that were not needed. I have been using the Ted Wiens on spring mountain for many years and they have been great.. I called to get a quote on some service I need it done on my car I spoke with Ricky very professional and friendly. I went to get my car fixed and with no time to repair was done, they also gave me an estimate of additional work I need done on my car which was very affordabl. They're like awesome! Ricky's manager's sorry I can't remember her name but she was friendly and professional as well. I would recommend everyone to go to this Ted Wings on Warm Springs and Eastern. Simply put, it's like going to get your car worked on by a cool ass friend! I can't say the same about the Eastern location near Serene. The guy was unprofessional, rude, and very uptight. read more

Bad service and surprisingly limited knowledge of basic tire maintenance I would recommend going somewhere else

I have been to this Ted Wiens a couple of times & have'nt had any problems."Keep in mind that I only went there for a tire change & smog check". Though this last time was over the top the worst. Scenerio: I had been noticing my girlfriends car blowing out white smoke when I start it & during travel..."which is never good". I took my truck in & after 1 hour from the time I dropped it off they said that they cleaned something (I forget) & that the problem was solved, they suggested that I get 2 other things done as a precaution & all of this would be under $500. Feeling better that it was'nt anything major I told them to go ahead. The next day after this service I notice the same problem, took it back to them & they said to keep driving it & it will eventually go away. 3 days went past with NO relief so I took it to Findlay Toyota were they broke the bad news. My girlfriend had sludge,(which they showed me) in the motor & to get the smoke to stop it would cost $5000 for a new one or $3000 to clean this one. If I would've known this from Ted Weins I would've not gone through with the $500 repair. I went back to Ted Weins & they said Toyota was wrong,(even after I saw it with my own eyes) & after arguing with the rude manager & the mechanic who worked on my car(who was puffing up his chest like he wanted to fight) they gave me $62 back for the labor. I would give no stars if i could. They ripped me off told me i needed new hoses for powersteering cause there were holes in my hoses. I asked for old part when job was completed no holes!! Priced hoses they overcharged by $100 for part. Then i was told belts were bad. Took old belts to service station and told i could drive to new york and back with belts no need to change yet. All in all was charged $701 for services i didnt need. Spoke to manager he was rude and offered me $150 back after i threated calling the rant and regional manager. To the person that commented on my post I would understand if maybe one tire failed three out of four of my tires failed I highly highly doubt it was a manufacture defect to try to excuse putting tires on backwards by saying their asymmetrical my tires were directional you in fact your company put them on inside out let's say there is no way to excuse putting tires on incorrectly when you are a tire store the maintenance was done perfectly I rotated my tires every fiveThousand miles I hardly drove the car in fact when I got them replaced I got three quarters of the replacement cost back because there were so few miles on these tires you can't excuse stupidity read more

Just an update to everyone who read my review, Ted Wiens never responded to my review nor would they do anything to fix the issues. They broke the clip to the piece the snaps in under the steering wheel to which I forgot to mention previously. Anyways, I now go to Midas. The repairs are more cost effective, they don't try to cheat me, they actually took new in to see for myself what repairs needed done and they told me which repairs I could wait on if I didn't have the money to fix right away. They have been absolutely wonderful. I will never allow Ted Wiens near my vehicle again. Good day to all! read more

The manager Ricky was extremely helpful and the shop does a great job on all suspension work I have brought to them. There is nowhere else I would rather go for an alignment, tire/wheel mount and balance or any other suspension related issue. I look forward to continuing to do business with them whenever I can. Dropped my car off here on Thurs my husband has some knowledge of cars he stated that my air wasn't working he knew it was not the compressor but thought maybe it was a clutch connection or blower problem and we asked for a diagnostic test. FAST FORWARD FRI AROUND 2 We get a message saying it is my blower.I call back and they say that they have to run a diagnostic and it will be $100 ???wait did I miss something I thought that's what we asked for. Went and picked the car up at 4:30. They were just starting the test. MY HUSBAND AND I both didn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle here after this.Total waste of a day. I have gone to this location quite a lot of times, The customer  service that they have provided was a Plus. Juddi was so friendly and very knowledgable, my first visit to this location was just to get 2 tires and alignments, i ended up getting 4 new tires, oil change,  and alignment for a very good price, Juddi had talked me through and she definitely knew what she was talking about. The  mechanics who worked on my car did so well. Since my first visit, i have always gone back to them with any services my car needs and same goes with my familys. I have to admit I was looking at the reviews just now and I realized that this might be a little hard to believe but I loved this place and will be bringing my car back to this place for future service. I heard this place through my ex husband and he specifically recommended a certain person because they are friends. I trust his judgement. I am glad I did. Took my car to Sahara Jeep Dealership on Sahara and Decatur and got quoted 6700$. I nearly fell to my knees and had a hard time believing. Yes the car has 113k but has been taken care other than ware and tear. So called ex husband and he gasped at the quote and recommended Chris over at Ted Weins on Eastern and Warm Springs and I got quoted after diagnostics 2100$. Showed up four days later and Chris saved me an additional 200$ for a total of 1900$! Great place! He will take care of you! Ask for him! read more

Very disreputable! I took my car there because the AC was not working. They charged me nearly $300 just to diagnose the issue! They said my compressor was bad and it needed to be replaced for a cost of $1200+. Sticker shocked, I decided to hold off until I could come up with a better solution. Thankfully, I found a reputable mechanic who told me that my compressor was just fine. The problem was a broken seal that needed to be replaced. Parts? - $56, Labor? - $100, knowing that I didn't get ripped off again? - $Priceless... read more

I had a pleasant experience with Ted Wiens some years back and just recently my mother and sister both raved about their experience there after I referred them. After having a couple of places to inspect my brakes I decided to take it to Ted Wiens for the needed repairs. Jon Asay was wonderful in explaining everything to me; what needed to be done and what could wait. He also made me feel good about the "investment" I was making in my car. Kudos to anyone that could make me feel good about spending $400 and not have at least a couple pair of shoes to show for it. :) Jon was also very friendly and personable which always enhances a car repair experience. My friend and I ran across some bad luck today while apartment hunting, she got a flat tire. We walked to Ted Wiens and immediately we're greeted by Ray. He was helpful and knowledgeable from the beginning, once we got her car to the the tire shop he went to another store to get the tire we needed so we wouldn't have to pay for a more expensive tire. He calmed us down and reassured us that everything would be fine. They fixed the tire way faster than we expected and I have never had better customer service at any other car service place.
