We had dinner with my brother-in-law and his wife. Food was great and so was dessert. I had stuffed eggplant and my husband had the veal parmesan. Basket of fried dough balls and dipping sauces (3) for dessert was fun and just right for our group. A few glasses of wine , jack and coke and plenty of good conversation. Food was pretty good, though the rotting celery was disappointing. When I showed it to the waitress, her answer was that it was cut fresh today. Not a huge deal, but what a lousy response. Service was downhill from there. It's not that the waitress wasn't pleasant, but on a fairly slow night, the wait was ridiculous. We ordered a fried dough desert. 15 mins later, the waitress brought two. One supposedly "special" from "Teddy". It was not as ordered and cold. The one prepared correctly was hot. Conclusion: they screwed up the first and instead of just admitting it and apologizing, covered it up with a "special" one. I guess good intent, but the apology would have gone a lot further. Every time I looked around, you could see 4 or 5 servers in the wait station laughing it up. Manager seemed oblivious. Once desert was done, several minutes for a check and over 10 for her to come back and run the card. Celery excluded, I would have rated the food a 4. Service a 2. My advice is for management to get on the ball and make sure servers know how to handle a situation. read more

My fiance and I were visiting the old sturbridge town, and stopped information a few drinks and food! We had the fried calamari with banana peppers, tomatoes and I believe a sauce?...but it was amazing! I've never had anything so good in my life! I had a chicken burger, and my fiance had a sandwich. We were more than happy with the food. I was very pleased to be able to build my own burger rather than having to choose from their menu. I've been coming to this restaurant for approximately six years. Two Sundays in a row I received extremely poor service last Sunday, November 28, 2021 I ordered food and while I was waiting for my food I heard the male bartender tell another customer he would see her and he said maybe if I don't get shit canned first and when she asked him what he said he walked away. I went there today December 5, 2021 got the same bartender he took our order 15 minutes later he came and asked us if we got our food yet and we told him no he went to the kitchen came back out with our plates of food and haphazardly tossed them on the bar in front of us and mixed up the order then he never came back to ask us how it was or if we needed anything I had fish and chips with barely lukewarm french fries! I was never even offered ketchup to go with the fries or offered another beer. I am so disgusted with the service I would never never recommend this to anybody it's sad because the food taste good but the service just is such a turn off. read more

We waited almost 15 minutes before anyone came to our table for the drink order. We ordered our food when we ordered out drinks. We then waited ALMOST AN HOUR for our food to arrive. Our waitress never came back during our hour wait to give us any sort of update on the status of dinner. I was staying in the town for the night and decided to try this place. Glad I did. I ordered the Vermont Chicken, off their fall specials menu. I wasn't expecting it to come stacked but it worked. Mashed potatoes on the bottom, topped by butternut squash with caramel drizzle. Panko coated chicken and cheddar cheese next, topped by some apple slices. Not mushy and slightly tart. Was just there with my friend and her 10 year old special needs son. We ordered apps, drinks, and entrees. I ordered a steak Caesar salad (I order this every time I go there and have recommended it to everyone that goes.) I asked our server, Brooke, if I ordered my steak med rare (normal) if it would truly come out that way, she assured me it would. Our apps came and our drinks were good. When we got our entrees, I cut into my steak to find it was well done. When I informed Brooke she took it away saying it would be fixed. When I got it back it was slightly less cooked. When I cut into it, it looked grey with slivers of red in the middle. There was no juice from the steak in the bowl either. Some of the thicker pieces of meat did have some red in them but the color surrounding it was not appetizing. When Brooke asked if it was better I said barely and that I couldn't bare to waste any more cow meat so I'd make do. As I started cutting into my meal that was already a disappointment, the owner came out to the table. He exclaimed that the second steak I got was a perfect medium rare. It was not. I told him yeah the thicker pieces (all two of them) looked med rare but the rest didn't but I wasn't asking for anything else. Not once did he apologize for the original steak that came out. He came out and wanted to argue with me about the steak that I had. I told him it was whatever and I was gonna eat it cuz like I said before I didn't want to waste any more food. When he walked away I ate a piece of the "good" steak and it honestly tasted like burnt grill and no attempt at seasoning. Also for this man to come outside and attempt to intimidate two young women and a child who are paying for a meal to be cooked properly in front of a FULL PATIO OF PEOPLE made me lose my appetite. When Brooke came back outside I told her that I had lost my appetite after being scolded by that man. She replied oh that's just Teddy. She took my full plate away. I had eaten about two bites of lettuce off each salad and one bite of steak off the new one. When we got the bill I expected it to not be there because I didn't eat it, but there it was. I told brooke that I didn't eat it and therefore shouldn't be on the bill. While we waited this man came back out saying he discounted the bill (he didn't) and said I ate a bunch of salad off both plates (I didn't) and that I said it was fine so even tho I didn't eat it I should pay for it. I told him that having him stand above us at our table and argue with me about my meal was intimidating and he denied it. He continued to argue further and point his finger at me insisting I pay for it getting louder by the minute all the while standing right above my friend's 10 year old special needs son. At this point my friend had enough and grabbed the bill and went searching for Brooke so we could pay and get out of there. We paid the bill, tipped her $20 and got out. I understand things have changed since the Pandemic hit. I work at a restaurant too. We are all working really hard and we are all working long and crazy hours. I know what it's like to take a table and have them not like what they've received. There's a right and a wrong way to handle it. We are two young women with a child trying to enjoy a meal at a place we liked. Teddy, you have no idea what kind of trauma someone has been through. For you to come outside and reprimand someone and point fingers at them was intimidating. And the second time when you came outside, flung the door open coming to argue with me, I was genuinely afraid. I'm no Karen. I never write reviews. I'll say this, I'm leaving your restaurant upset and embarrassed with the taste of your shitty cooking in my mouth. I just really want you to know that. We had a great Sunday lunch at Teddy G's. Even though they were extremely busy,,,we got in with very little wait time. I had the Haddock sandwich and French onion soup...both of which were yum. My sister had their Macaroni and Cheese (wish I had ordered this one) with bacon and that was WOW. The apple and chicken meals were interesting and good tasting as well. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and when they forgot to substitute the onion rings in my mothers burger meal (also yummy) they brought more rings on the house...now that's great guest recovery. I've really enjoyed both times I've been to Teddy G's! Both times I've had pizza and both times it's been delicious. They have a cool bar and a pretty big dining area. A lot of beer, even local beer, on tap. We also tried the boneless bbq tenders which were amazing. I decided to get the fried dough balls and they were so soft and flavorless, even after putting them in the toaster oven and coating them with more powdered sugar and cinnamon when I got home. We love going to Teddy G's! We have gone for both lunch and dinner, for happy hour and to watch a game or two. I've enjoyed all of the meals I've had but the main reason we return is because of the staff. Sadly, the food is decent but the service is absolutely terrible. We are here because of convenience because there really was nothing in the area. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes, it ended up being 40 and they sat several people before us then basically lied and said they didn't. But strangely, even the people who were sat in front of us said we were there first. Again, small town not a lot of choices. We were here for an event and ended up eating here twice.
