Best Apple fritter period. My family and I love them. We have tried many Apple fritters and Teddys are the best.

It really doesn't look like anything special. That is, if you see it. The storefront doesn't face the street, while other in the L-shaped outdoor strip-mall do. Near Carl's Jr and a 76 gas station -- that's your markers to find it. Found it, and I was wowed. ===================== Open 24 hours (good to know for late night munchies), they have a nice but not totally expansive selection. However, larger than life donuts, all -- but particularly, a special shout-out to the bear claws, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters. Also, not mention, the place is older but very clean. Wonderful texture, great fluffy and slightly chewy dough. I tried the bear claw (mine) and parts of the gf's, a cinnamon roll. Both were ridiculously good. Let it be known right now. I stumbled upon the donut shot one late night to take a break from driving and it was the best decision ever ! Its located right off the 10 fwy which made it convenient to get back on. First, the price was a shade higher compared to others I've eaten. Second, this one had some heft to it and larger than the size of my hand (an ode to Goldstar Doughnuts). Sure, I'll probably search out other places next time I'm around, but it's good to know I had a go-to place. The prices were a pinch more, but I could live with that. The service was great and I got to support a local small business which was always a plus. I don't believe they sold boba which seemed to go hand-in-hand these days. They have good donuts, huge apple fritters, and are cheaper than Swiss Donuts at a comparable quality (though SD has better bear claws). That being said, something disturbing happened to me not just once but twice here. Long story short, yesterday, I stopped by to grab a couple of donuts with my daughter and I asked the gentleman there to put on a 50 cent tip since I don't carry cash. I don't remember the exact amount but he gave me a total of 3.70 and after I asked him to add 50 cents for tip, he said okay, 4.70 okay? I was a bit distracted with my daughter and said okay thanks, and it wasn't until after I paid that I realized he bumped up my tip to a dollar instead of the 50 cents I asked. I thought it might have been a mistake or I misheard him, but I did the same thing today where he gave me the total, I asked him to add fifty cents as my tip and he casually gave himself a dollar tip (which to be fair he told me as he was ringing me up). Just to make sure I hadn't misheard him, I asked for a receipt this time and yup, there it was. I am not usually a stingy person but doubling a tip is kind of shady and disappointing. Visited for breakfast. The place needs some updating. Donuts in cabinet but nothing marked. Asked employee but could not get pass language barrier. Ordered a cream fill donut, sprinkled donut, and two glazed donuts with one coffee. Two of the donuts were stale or day old. Coffee was generic. I sat there to eat with friend and no napkins. Had to ask employee that was chatting on the phone if we could have a napkin. We were given one each from behind the counter. I would not return. I would rather see a friendly employee and smaller amount of fresh donuts than eat at a place that is slowly dying. read more

Was so excited to walk in to a display full of plump donuts that all looked so scrumptious!!! It was almost past midnight when I walked in and was expecting to come across day old donuts like most places. There were bear claws, twists, bars, jelly, SPRINKLES!! You name it!! Would've ordered an entire dozen but like I said it was past midnight so I stuck to a maple twist and a cinnamon roll. Both were great!!! My husband and I have to share a car, and I needed it so I had to take him to work. I asked him to stop at Swiss Donut on Monterrey. It's was early, just after 5am. Well guess what, SD was closed tight as a drum with no lights on, let alone yummy donuts. Hmmmm So we headed down the freeway to Washington. There I saw TEDDYS DOUNTS. We pulled in and their donut case was full of sugary scrumptious mouth watering donuts! I couldn't wait to drop hubby off so I could eat my bounty. The donut was fresh, room temp which is ok cuz the donut was a delight. My fur babies attacked me when I got home with my second donut. In typical doggie fashion, they devoured some of a bear claw. Finally a 24 hour donut shop near the gym, just exactly what America needs. *sarcasm This donut shop is tucked in the mini strip mall, next to a noodle restaurant and a wing place (which is open till midnight). The donut man is super nice and friendly, we got there around 10ish, and it looked like they had a bunch of fresh-ish looking donuts/doughnuts. I got an apple fritter, a blackberry jelly filled donut and a baklava. Their baklava is surprisingly super delicious as well as their donuts. They also sell little ginseng shots at the counter.
