I and my son and his wife went there Saturday September 25th. Tejas Rodeo is the best family venue in Bexar County and probably all of Texas. I kept my horses stabled at this location for a few years. Management has not changed, still the best for stabling horses with amenities not offered elsewhere. Great food, and I mean GREAT food. Ok. This is my second time here. First time was a bust because of the service and the wrong order was brought to our table....this time, the food. Well, let's say all was really good until slicing into the chicken fried chicken and pulling up a long dark hair. GROSS!!! The waitress had just arrived at the table and saw what was happening. She immediately took the plate to the back and after a couple minutes came back and told us that they were sorry and that would take 50% off the cost of "that dinner". 50%? Really? I couldn't even finish my dinner! We were totally grossed out and while I understand that accidents do happen, had it been my restaurant, I would have apologized and zero'd out the entire ticket. We hosted our annual holiday party at Tejas Rodeo last evening! The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating from the day we inquired about the event. Day of set up could not have gone any smoother. Multiple staff members were available throughout the day for assist with any of our needs. Great Sunday Brunch. We had brisket enchiladas and the big cowboy breakfast. Both were Delicious and big portions. Great service and we also had Mimosas and a Michelada . We will definitely be going back. Great place to walk around before or after you eat. read more

The food was terrible. As I looked on the wall they had writeups from when they placed opened in 2012 saying the food was good. Nothing recent, it seems in 5 years it has gone completely downhill. The service was exceptionally terrible, which is fine cause it is mothers day. I can sit there with my family and drink a warm mimosa and wait 20-30 minutes for the food. But if the waiter is going to say how good the tacos are, and we get dry, tastless cubes of beef with a teaspoon of guacamole and corn tortillas fresh out of the package, I am never going to eat there again. It was a sad show they had running there. I get it if you are short staffed, it happens, and everyone waits longer for the food. But when you get the food, and 6 adults unanimously agree it was terrible, you aren't coming back again and certainly not booking the venue for a rehersal dinner. read more

Came from Hawaii to visit our son in Texas, Googled "things to do in San Antonio" and the Tejas Rodeo came up as an option. I reserved tickets online (very easy) and the price was reasonable for entertainment that we didn't have any reviews on (from family or friends). It did not disappoint! We got there around 6:30 and immediately found seating in the general admission area since there were 6 of us and the website recommended it. Good thing we did cause it filled up quickly. There were so many events from the little kids competing in mutton racing to the barrel racers at the end, my husband and kids kept telling me what a great time they had all night. We left after the rodeo but they were gearing up for a good time with live music right after it ended. If I could do it over, I'd get dinner at their restaurant before the rodeo started cause the menu looked delicious. See y'all next year! read more

We "city folk" from the Chicago area sure had a fun and unique time here. Bring your cowboy hats! I think the rodeo dragged on a bit at times though. To see the first couple cowboys try to rope a calf was cool, but did we really need to see it more times than that? It got a little redundant. I also think one small but big improvement could make this a lot better- a little humor! Tell a few jokes or put funny hats on the longhorns! Just something to break up the monotony a bit. We booked the Texas Steakhouse and Saloon for our son's rehearsal dinner site unseen, so you can imagine we were a little nervous feeding 50-75 people, but we had ABSOLUTELY nothing to worry about. We were so taken care of and our food was so fantastic. We chose the combo fajitas with extra guacamole and added chips and Queso as an appetizer. First, that was best Queso ever, smooth in creamy with chilies, so delicious! And the fajitas were tender and delicious, you could tell they cooked them fresh for us with quality meat. The space was perfect, lots of unique things to see, but they let us come and decorate so our event had its own special feel and look. I HATE leaving a bad review, but this needs to be addressed. After ordering, it took 10+ minutes to get drinks.. (water), the buffet ran out of food after 30 minutes with a 30% full restaurant. We ordered off the menu, and orders never came so we walked out an hour after being seated. Party of 7 arrived from 'the city' that being just 10 miles down the road in San Antonio. At night the bright lights of Blanco and 1604 will give way 15 minutes north into nothing but a Texas moon and sagebrush. This was the finest steak we've had in San Antonio and will definitely return. No mistake this is real cowboy hang out but all appear welcome, we are more a family of polo shirts than bolo ties and all was fine. KC style prime-cut steak, yum! and we did enjoy the peach cobbler. This place is very close to our home, which is a bit out in the boonies. The grounds are great. They hold rodeos here regularly. It's a great place for special events. A new Texas favorite when visiting San Antonio. The Shiner Bock on tap with Devils River Whiskey starts off the evening. We then kicked it off with quail wrapped in bacon as an appy which was incredible! Then the main course ... Akaushi beef (you better like a salty crust), loaded mashed taters, and the best mushrooms and onions - ever! All the while listening to live country music. Tejas is the best place you can go on any Saturday night March through November. It is very family friendly and it is SO fun. It is very organized and welcoming. A lot of action is happening and it is a great experience for the whole family. They also have a great lesson program. I would definitely recommend this on any Saturday night. read more

Took the kids here Saturday night with some friends. We had a blast. The rodeo was fun to watch. My daughter especially like watching them practice and stuff after the rodeo part was over. The food here is 4-star quality but the service is marginal. Perhaps worse, they take reservations but really don't honor those reservations. I looked forward to this for 2 weeks as I was taking my daughter out for her birthday along with 7 other family members. The food was great but super slow to be delivered, with half of the table almost finished before other half was served! We were having a problem with the bill and were never approached by the Manager, who was hanging out at the bar. He later spoke with a few tables but very noticeably skirted our table which, by far was the largest group in the place! Even after remarking to the waiter that we felt the manager should speak to us!!! The restaurant was no where near being full or very busy. This reviews is based on the resturant not the weekly rodeo. Service was great food was overpriced and def over priced. The KC steak is just sirlion witb some salt and peper on it. 40.00 bucks for a sirlion is ridiculous. I would be open to trying other menu items if they were about half of what they were charging since its def not worth what they were charging. But we should have known what we were getting into due to the fact there we only two other people in the restaurant on MOTHERS DAY the busiest day of the resturant industry. Oh and P.S. the bartender does not know what they are doing we had to send out drinks back three times because it tasted like lemonade a.k.a their drinks were from some sort of store bought mixture they just toss in ice. read more

Though Tejas rodeo is a fine entertainment place, good for both parents and children. The steakhouse was a little over priced, it has no unique taste and you will probably be better of just eating there food from the concession stand. Which is not over priced at all. Will definitely be back. This was our first time here and my mom, my boyfriend, our 4yo daughter, and myself had a good time. Everyone was very friendly and informative. We ate burgers, hotdogs, and pulled pork sandwiches which were delicious and no more expensive than going to a sit down burger joint. The rodeo itself was entertaining and my kid danced her heart out. Shame she didn't make it to the live band that plays after. Her favorite part was riding the mechanical bull on our way out (never thought she'd do it but she did). Guy operating it was awesome and gave her just the right amount of buck for her age. Tejas Rodeo - Her 1st rodeo - Steakhouses Near Me - Bulverde, Texas

My friend and I went to the Tejas Rodeo outside of Bulverde over the weekend and stayed at the bunkhouse on the property Saturday night. It was a blast! There are only two overnight accommodations on the property and the bunkhouse is perfect for a romantic getaway. We arrived at 3:00 Saturday afternoon and got the key to our little place right away then started exploring the grounds - we had the run of the place! Lots of friendly horses to scratch behind the ears, and the staff was even friendlier! As the evening geared up and the sun started setting the crowd started showing up for dinner and the rodeo. Of course we being 'special' guests, which they certainly made us feel that way, we just freshened up and walked over to the steakhouse for dinner. Food was delicious and the service was super. The rodeo was so much fun, and to top it all off, the live band started up at 9:00 and we danced the rest of the night away. A few steps back to the bunkhouse and we were ready for some rest after the all the activity of the afternoon and evening. Brunch is included the next day but we had other sights we wanted to see so we packed up and got back on the road. We've taken lots of road trips all over the country in the past 13 or so years and THIS was our favorite to date! If you want the true Texas Hill Country experience, this is the place!! read more
