This review is only based on my brunch experience.... Which was pretty bad. We were seated immediately per our reservation but then were not given water for at least 15 minutes. Service was terribly slow (I think they were understaffed, not blaming the nice girl that was the waitress). Food was dull.... Not an exciting brunch menu. It was also bland, needed salt and pepper.... unfortunately, there was none on the table. I ordered a $4 croissant as an appetizer.... It was smaller than the palm of my hand. I wanted one of those big flakey ones you get at coffee shops or even Costco.... Alas I had a bite of a hard croissant. I will give them a star for the ambiance... obviously it's a beautiful building and hotel... if you can find parking. $17 for dull scrambled eggs, bread, potatoes, and a coffee. No meat! read more

Beautiful motif. It definitely makes you think of the bank in the Mary Poppins movie. My group was there for Sunday brunch and there was live jazz and the service was very good as well. One of the managers gave our group the grand tour of even the 2 speakeasy-style bars on the lower floor. Only one complaint. The second time a group of us tried to make a reservation, the person reserving was told there would be 1 ticket for everyone's orders so we'd have to pay her back. I don't know why the policy changed in such a short time but it was a bit stressful on us. read more

Went this past Sunday for a girls day brunch. I've been a few times for dinner but this time we came for the Jazz Brunch. We LOVED it! They have paid valet parking starting at $10 minimum or you can find street parking on your own a little further out. Once you enter, you go up an escalator to arrive which is the 1st chance to take in the breathtaking surroundings.The ambience is unmatched - we spent the first 5 to 10 minutes just looking up at the ceiling's intricate designs which our server informed us were hand-painted. Seating and tables are all inspired by the original tellers' booths which is a creative touch. I don't understand why this place has such a low rating. Many of the negative reviews seem to be based on service(somewhat expected being a recent opening). We came in for a weekday dinner and didn't notice any issues with service. Our server was friendly, provided insight on the design of the restaurant and everything came out in a timely manner. Food was impeccable, beginning with their starter of housemade focaccia which came with a ricotta which was a refreshing change from butter. The bowl of charred eggplant dip was wiped completely clean with the provided bread which was the PERFECT texture. For my entree, I had the strozzapreti which is a pasta shape I hadn't tried but before but thoroughly enjoyed. The shrimp was cut into pieces and it had just the right amount of butter without being too heavy. Italian is my favorite cuisine and I left completely satisfied with my meal. The food was delicious, I got salmon and the most delicious smoked mushrooms I've eaten, my husband pork allá cacciatore and my son beef short rib rigatoni, all of them were very good, for desert we had affogato and of course it was delicious. Cheesecake was unbeatable-how did they get it so tall yet so smooth (& what is the hint of something different and delicious? Almond extract? ....). Next time, I'll order the dessert first Diablo pizza with hot honey was delicious!!! Mushroom side dish - not my favorite, but that's just a personal preference. It is a bit pricy (but worth a splurge) - four adults, three entrees, one appetizer, two desserts, & 5 alcoholic drinks: $250 not including the tip. OH - don't let me forget TINA - one of the loveliest waitstaff we've had the fortune of waiting on us! Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Great job! This restaurant is absolutely mind blowing the second you enter the upstairs dinning area. When we were seated, we ordered drinks. I got the blood orange spritz and my mom got wine with her meal. After drinks they start you off with their homemade bread. This is light and fluffy and dipped in the oil... there's just nothing better. We started off our meal with the beautiful Cesar Salad to share. They split this for us and it was the perfect amount! Stay for the ambiance, don't trip over the food. Went her for a nice birthday dinner, the escalators up to the dining area was just spectacular. It's beautiful and intimate with lots of history. We had reservations for 5:30, got there about 10 minutes early and was seated immediately. We actually had great service compared to some of the other reviews. My only complaint was the food. The appetizer options were lack luster. Cocktail for $20? You've lost me. We enjoyed the dinner bread (focaccia?). I got the scallops with garlic lemon orzo and he got the lobster ravioli. Nothing special about either, just found both were lacking significant flavor. And not that I'm some renowned chef, but the presentation was disappointing and messy. I did appreciate getting a complimentary birthday dessert, which was actually the best part of the meal. The gilded acorn staff at the bakery below suggested we try tellers breakfast when we discovered that they weren't serving a full menu. I was reluctant due to having past terrible experiences with their dinner dining. Extremely disappointed by the breakfast as well. It was cheap hotel food that cost a luxury price. Unseasoned hard potato's, a "breakfast sandwhich" served on an untoasted Walmart hamburger bun, and eggs that smelled like a wet dog. This was our first visit to Teller's but we have both visited the First National Building for other reasons years ago. It is really beautiful now, after the renovation, and this restaurant is a great addition. The atmosphere is cool with a retro kind of feel and some great music. The food was really good and our server, Dru, was also excellent and friendly. The shrimp scampi with the thick twisted pasta had great flavors. The braised rib rigatoni was also great especially the rib meat which was really tender. The deserts should probably be split because they were big. The mixed drinks were very good and I highly recommend the Uroboros stout ale. We did have the Margarita pizza for an appetizer and that was probably too much. Really nice pizza with a tasty crust and nice cheese. We brought some of the pizza home and really glad because it was a lot of food overall but really good. One of the most underwhelming dinners, ever. All I read was how great the atmosphere is. It wasn't that great. It was very dim and dark and it had a hipster club feel to it all. For some reason people were wandering it with big dogs and chilling on the couches sprinkled throughout. Yeah, no. Leave your dog at home. These weren't service animals. Once our server figured out we don't drink alcohol he lost interest immediately and we almost never saw him/her/who knows again. The menu isn't great and it's also very limited. If you're going to claim to be an Italian restaurant you better have some fettuccine alfredo. So we opted for the meat pizza that had mike's hot honey on it. We had them put the honey on the side and were so glad we did. That honey was so overly spicy most can't eat it. The pizza itself seemed to be decent quality but certainly not some high end artisan pizza. It's also a pain in the butt to find parking and then walk to this place. I don't want to be walking the streets in downtown OKC at night or be in parking garage stairwells. We won't be going back. The most overrated place in Oklahoma. read more

Italian food is one of those cuisines that is easy to make, but really hard to perfect. I don't think you could find a more picturesque and incredible setting than Tellers in OKC. Staff was fantastic and even though we had to wait for a table, after we had made a reservations, there was plenty of seating at the bar for us to enjoy a drink prior to having an incredible Italian meal. We were both shocked how inexpensive our meal, including wine was for two of us. I know we're not from this area, but people that live here have an incredible restaurantat at their disposal. The Burrata and meatballs were incredible. Our pasta dishes were deeply satisfying. My coworker who is from Jersey and who has access to some pretty incredible Italian food said this was the one of thebest meals he has had. Kudos. And I will say that I'm really just wanted. Eggs Benedict had little to no hollandaise sauce and was incredibly chewy. It just didn't work. What I'd improve: make sure your dishes have an extra element to make them stand out. Flavors were a bit bland and conventional. Take the pickled peppers off the egg sandwich at brunch and add a garlic aioli instead. Throw in some capers to help. Service: I'd like to see the wait staff match the incredible ambiance of this restaurant. The staff seems a little too laid back, unaware of the menu, and over all not professional looking/acting (think, tons of tattoos, dangling earrings on the male bartender...etc.) You'll also be waiting FOREVER for food, drinks, and general attention. We arrived at 12:15 for our reservation and it was 2pm by the time we paid. Way too long. What I'd improve: make sure your waitstaff knows the menu (dinner and brunch) backwards and forwards. This will ensure your guests get their questions answered quickly and it shows the level of care and attention to detail that your beautiful restaurant demands. You may consider also asking your staff to dress to a level of professionalism that fits the grandeur of the building (I.e. no ink showing, no dangly earrings on males, clean hair cuts). One more thing I'd love to see at Tellers, everyone helping out. When staff works together the guests notice and will come back because they feel genuinely cared for. Ambiance: this is the major draw to this place. SO much beauty. Come for a drink, maybe an appetizer, and you'll love it. What I'd improve: nothing. It's gorgeous. read more

Did not eat here, only had drinks, and they were good. Talented bartenders, great service. Over a three night period, we had old fashioned, Rob Roy, bees knees, and something with rosemary. All good. My husband's favorite was the old fashioned and mine was the Rob Roy. Old fashioned has the big ice cube, and it's custom made with a logo visible on the bottom. Have to see, it didn't photograph well. Nice touch! The great hall is impressive looking, great way to wind down at the end of the day. read more

I had a ceasar salad and soup by first night after checking into the National, and they were so kind to get it wrapped up to go for me so I could relax in my room since they were o a wait. Your staff really are incredible and so very professional and charming. I'll be at The National quite a bit traveling for work and if this trip is any indication of how well liked the hotel and restaurant are, I am so glad my company is partnered with Tellers and The National. read more

Perfect spot for a birthday celebration. The architecture of the First National building is stunning both inside and out. The booths felt more private than the average restaurant and despite the number of people in the building- it was surprisingly not loud. We made our reservation through open table earlier in the week, and were sat immediately upon arrival. Now I will say after we were sat, it did take about 3-5 minutes before we were greeted. Thankfully we were a bit entranced by the decor and going over our drink/food choices so that distracted us for about the first couple of minute. But from a former service industry worker- it's not a good look for a place of this caliber to have several servers walk past guests' who haven't been watered simply because it's not your section. (Teamwork makes the dream work and keeps guest coming back!) That said, once our server did greet us she was very polite. We were ready to order both drinks and entrees when she got to the table, so she took our orders quickly and brought us dinner bread (which was amazing!) For drinks: we got the Blood Orange Spritz and two Cosmos. The spritz was perfectly balanced, and the blood orange added such a nice flavor to the drink. The Cosmos was perfect in color, but the Citron vodka somewhat overpowered the other ingredients. But, I prefer too strong of a drink over too weak of a drink anyways- just be mindful with how many you have throughout dinner. For food: we ordered the Reginette Verde, Short Rib Rigatoni, and 16oz Sirloin. The Reginette was the worst thing we ordered. The sauce reminded me of stroganoff hamburger helper mix, but not as thick. There was almost no flavor to the dish. If I was a "Karen", I would've sent it back. However, we were sharing our entrees- so we just let it be. The rigatoni was our favorite dish. The short rib was cooked to perfection and provided the majority of the dish's flavor. Not to say the sauce and ricotta weren't good, but without the short rib this dish would've fallen flat. The sirloin was good, but the bomba alla calabrese that's served with the dish was phenomenal. I can't tell you what was in that mix, but it was an amazing with the steak. I was expecting it to be hot with the calabrese, but it wasn't. Be sure to get a big of the bomba with each bite of your steak! For desert we got the limoncello tart. I was expecting a tiny little desert, but it was actually closer in size to a slice of NY pizza! The lemon filling was amazing- not too tart or sweet. The meringue topping added a nice creaminess to each bite of the tart. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Tellers. It was the perfect location for the birthday girl's celebration. I'd return with friends visiting OKC so they can get the experience and enjoy the aesthetics; but I can't say this will be my go-to choice for Italian here in OKC. read more
