If you're looking for a cafe with lots of seating, great drinks, and fast wifi, this is the place to be! They have a back room that is more private and is perfect for those looking to get work done with reliable wifi (note: 2 hour wifi limit) I did find the small cold brew for $5 a little on the pricier side, but it is super caffeinated and delicious. I was bouncing off the walls for hours after drinking it so beware about drinking one later in the day. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I usually park at the meters since they're cheap but you can also park at one of the many parking garages close by, where they offer free parking for at least the first hour. read more

Yes to independent coffee shops in Danville!! I wish there was one closer to the Blackhawk Plaza but I'm willing to drive to downtown. They have a lot of house made syrups and delicious pastries. I wish there was more seating inside but great new place to meet up with a friend and welcome addition to the Livery! read more

Coffee at Tell Us is really mediocre - it tastes burnt. I've tried this place when it opened and I was deterred by their burnt coffee, and now, after all these years, their coffee still tastes burnt. My friend's dark chocolate mocha tasted like neither coffee nor mocha - it was just oddly flavored liquid that had no resemblance to real coffee. The food, chicken empanada and meat lovers sandwich, was pretty good, but this is a coffee shop so food is secondary. read more

I love Tellus! It's my number one coffee spot in Walnut Creek. I come at least once a week with my kids and usually order a Cafe Latte with burnt honey cinnamon. They have really good homemade coffee syrups! My kids get the watermelon chill which they LOVE. They also get a traditional croissant which is always so fresh, very airy and buttery. I had the parfait for the first time and it's made with fresh fruit, yogurt and delicious granola! We've gotten DoorDash from them and all of their food is really good and they use excellent ingredients. I'm really impressed with their coffee quality. The cafe is super cute. The plants, lighting and overall atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. It seems like a hot spot for pulling up your laptop and working. Makes sense because it's cozy and you have great food and drinks. Also, the people working are sooo nice and helpful. I highly recommend! read more

Love the Ambiance here. The Baristas are always friendly and very up beat. Their choices of pastries are always enticing I had their Veggie egg sandwich with Chorizo tofu a few time. The punch card also makes it rewarding for frequent visits. Flat Whites are usually my go to and always Almond Milk variety.. I definitely visit frequently since it's always consistently great. read more

I've been frequenting WC more recently and likely through the summer so I've been looking for different coffee shops to try. Tellus seems to always be highly rated. It's a cute and Instagrammable cafe in the heart of downtown WC and based on the lines on a Saturday morning, also very popular. My iced dark mocha and the avocado toast were good. The kouign amann was your typical kouign. Overall it was a good experience but a bit pricey as others may have mentioned. A small single piece of toast sliced in half was $12. I suppose that is the going rate but have experienced better value for the quality at other cafes. Nearly $30 for a kouign, an avo toast and a medium mocha. It's WC after all though, so I'm sure the pricing carries the cache. read more

A great space with plenty of seating. Breakfast sammy was good, but simple. I went with the vegetarian, but sub veggie patty for bacon. 1 egg on an english muffin, topped with bacon, a bit of sprouts for about $10. Overpriced for sure, and while the place wasn't busy, it took a little longer than expected. The iced tea was great (although I believe only one option), and again, the space is quite large with ample seating and great decor. Menu is limited, but some great healthy options consisting of a few eggy dishes, pastries, toasts and fresh juices and a few smoothies. I love smoothies, but none seemed to call out to me. Overall a solid little coffee shop. read more

Came here at around 9am to study and I love how lively it is. It's right in the heart of downtown WC. The interior is welcoming and there's lots of seating inside. For anyone coming for the first time there's lots of street parking & a parking garage nearby. For anyone studying or planning to do work: there's free Wi-Fi which is a plus. I am a big fan of empanadas so I decided to try their chicken empanada. It comes with this chimichurri sauce which goes well with it. Would I order it again? Maybe not. It was nice to try it though. I also ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and cinnamon on top. Delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. I've been on the hunt of the best iced matcha in this area and this one is up on my list. Will definitely be coming back again to try more of their food. The Quiche Lorraine seemed good. read more

BUT COFFEE FIRST... yes!!! Amazing good vibes feel at Tellus Coffee. Beautiful and green decor. I've passed by Tellus numerous times and their seasonal drink menu has always sounded awesome. I finally got to visit Tellus when I met an amazing fellow Yelper, and I'm glad I did! I told the person working there that it was my first visit and asked for drink recommendations, and recommendations were given. Not just the names of the drinks, but also flavor profiles and such which I respected. I ended up ordering a burnt honey cinnamon latte since that sounded unique and I haven't had that exact flavor latte before. I also asked for it to be not too sweet and for oat milk, and it looked and tasted amazing. I also got a vanilla scone and they even asked if I wanted it to be warmed up. Aw, so sweet. I paid, got my scone, and waited for my drink. They then called out my name and wow, nice latte art considering it was a plant based milk. Beautiful. First sip was amazing foam, perfectly crafted latte. Nice flavor, not too sweet. The scone was good too, but I prefer my scones more of the Larry David style- harder and such (are you a CYE fan too?), but not many places do that kind of scone so this was pretty good in comparison. They also do food here and that looked pretty nice too. If I was studying, this would be the spot I'd like to be. Looking forward to going back to try more flavored lattes and a great cappuccino. read more

One of my pet peeves is this "We don't accept cash" nonsense. So demerits already for this place. We would have walked out but it was 3:30 pm and I didn't get my morning coffee at home before heading out for the day so I was in total need of a fix. The coffee is pretty good. My partner and I both had shot added. So definitely a hipster weigh the coffee beans, pour over, social justice warrior, we are to cool for school kind of outfit. But the social justice is just for looks because if you are poor or on the street or don't have credit or debit cards you are not welcome here. So much for social justice warriors. WTF, is this and other places afraid the staff if pocketing the dimes? Maybe hire honest staff. Peeps, going down this cashless road is not going to end well. Oh but the tip jar is cash. You can't give us cash for your coffee but you can tip us with cash SMH. Not coming back. read more

I love this place for the coffee, savory breakfast, and workspace. I had their breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, pastries, coffee, and acai bowl. While I love everything I've tried, the only thing I would never order again is the acai bowl. It was slush and melted. There was nothing special about it and not enjoyable because it was like soup. Otherwise, everything else is really good. The free wifi makes it a great place to work. read more

Very cute shop in downtown Walnut Creek! Came for a blowout in the area and walked over about 5 minutes down the street and ordered a lavender latte with soy milk and a maple kouign aman as recommended by the cashier who mentioned it was one of the best items there. It was pretty early (around 8am) on a Saturday and still decently busy of a place inside so you know this place gets super full around peak hours. Both of my items were yummy except I don't think my latte actually had soy milk in it (I'm lactose intolerant and felt it) but I'm willing to give this place another chance again. read more

We threw away the Strawberry Matcha latte after taking a sip. The matcha itself is very watered down and the strawberry was artificial. Mixed together made it 10x worse. The coffee was also watered down and I did not get a single hint of banana bread. Super cute and peaceful cafe with lots of green decor and seating. The baristas are all super friendly and sweet. If you go towards closing time, they may run out of several menu options. The almond croissant was pretty good! The cold brew and cappuccino was also decent but nothing too special. They make all their syrups in house and I got the carrot cake flavor but I couldn't taste it in my cappuccino. The peanut butter syrup in the cold brew was very strong however - tasted exactly like taking a swig of coffee after biting into a peanut butter sandwich haha Overall, good vibes and good cafe to work at or have a coffee break with a friend! read more

Store is clean but upon walking in, an overpowering fermenting smell made me crinkle my nose yesterday. The cashier was nice and helpful. However the food and drinks were less than good. $12 for the 2 eggs breakie. I almost laughed at the portion size. It's not the "finest ingredients" so you can't make that argument here. Love the interior green atmosphere. They have green lights and a plant wall. Nice place to hang out or work. Got their strawberry matcha latte, but I like my drinks a lot less sweet so I asked for very little strawberry. They made it perfectly, with the matcha getting a little strawberry aroma. They use real strawberries, so you get the seeds as well. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Parking might be a bit challenging since it's on the main street. read more

One of the best almond croissants I have had in a looong time! What a great idea to add almonds on top, it gives a great crunch and texture to this yummy croissant. I made the terrible mistake of trying Brioche Paris bakery, and wasted calories on a sup-bar stale croissant. Glad I found this place! I will also mention that their matcha lattes are great quality. They actually add enough matcha, and don't drown it with milk like many other places. I don't want to be paying for milk, I want my matcha to be generously added with a dark green hue! This is MY spot! I am here almost every weekend. I have tried almost all of their drinks and I always find myself going back to the strawberry matcha with an added shot. Their avocado toast is also divine. The inside ambiance is lovely, with beautiful plants everywhere! Seating is a little sparse on the weekends, but if you hang around you'll find a table. Our goal as a family and as a staff is to provide a brief respite from the hectic rush of most people's lives. We hope that from the moment you walk through our door, you can take a deep breath of our roasting coffee beans, tea and delicious hot food, and know you've found the perfect place to enjoy life!

History

Established in 2020.

A cup of coffee is far more than just a start to a day. When brewed with thoughtfulness and care, it can be an experience unlike any other. Here at Tellus, we believe in bringing that thoughtfulness to every step of the coffee-making process in hopes of providing you not only the freshest brew, but a breath of fresh air and a calming space to enjoy the moment in. Looking to bring this vision to life, we are excited to incorporate community-building, environmental advocacy, and ethical coffee-trade practices at every level of our business. We roast all our beans in-house on a zero-emissions roaster- carefully choosing the regions and farms we source our raw beans from and customizing each small-batch roast for a variety of flavors and strengths. Tellus strives to bring both a sense of peace and a spark of creativity to your coffee journey.

Are you bringing back your matcha strawberry on the menu? I haven't seen it in weeks.

Yes! The strawberry matcha is a permanent menu item for us. Sometimes our suppliers do not have strawberries so we’re unable to make the puree. If that happens we always try to substitute with either a blueberry or raspberry.

Do you provide WiFi? Is there space to sit, plug a laptop in and get some work done while enjoying your space?

We provide 2 hours of WiFi. Every table has an outlet you can plug into.

Are you dog friendly?

Hello! The Department of Environmental Health has a law stating that pets are not permitted in any indoor food establishments, although certified service animals are permitted. All animals are welcome on our patio.

Is the cortado served in a clear cup or a mug?

Our default is to serve all coffee in to go cups, however if you're wanting to stay and enjoy please ask for it in a mug and we're happy to do so.

Everyday from 3:30pm-5pm

Will you ever be extending your hours to stay open later again?

Hi Brook, we unfortunately had to cut our hours due to staffing. We're hoping to extend them soon.

Is it student/work friendly?

This is definitely worth a side trip to enjoy a hand-crafted beverage, a small bite and to relax for a bit. It's a perfect option versus sitting in the service waiting room if you're getting service at many of the shops within a couple of blocks.

It wasn't busy when we walked in at around noon. A quick glance revealed a space that's tiny but well organized. We were greeted by Thuy, the friendly proprietor of the establishment. Since this was our first visit, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. In the end, we each got a bánh mì sandwich and a beverage. Pricing was reasonable IMHO (see menu pic). I had the cold cut bánh mì and an iced coffee. I gave half of my sandwich to my brother, and he gave me half of his grilled chicken bánh mì in return. Both sandwiches were delicious! The baguette was excellent. It was crispy on the outside and soft and spongy on the inside. Thuy told me later on that she gets them from Duc Huong Sandwiches, a famed Vietnamese sandwich chain in San Jose. The homemade pâté, cold cuts, and grilled chicken were all delicious, and the produce was very fresh. The iced coffee was very good as well. We chatted with Thuy extensively before and after our meal. She told us she was a banker prior to opening this café. From our conversation, I could tell she takes pride in her work. We were all very impressed by her demeanor and business acumen. Should you find yourself in downtown Walnut Creek, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - You can either park at the library lot, Civic Park, or the Broadway city garage a block away. - Contactless payment. - They have limited indoor and outdoor seating.

My friend and I were waiting quite a while for our drinks, and we later found out they had run out of ice. I completely understand that these things happen, but it would have been nice if the staff had let us know right away instead of us having to ask. We ended up waiting until more ice was brought in, which made the experience longer than expected.

Well, let me TELL YOU (pun intended =)! The Mrs. and I came here one day after dropping the Little One off at school. It was a non-clinical workday for both of us, so we had notes to finish. Located in downtown, Walnut Creek, Tellus Coffee is a delightful spot for coffee enthusiasts seeking a unique experience. Ambiance: Upon stepping inside, I was immediately captivated by the stunning interior design, featuring charming brick walls juxtaposed with vibrant green accents. The atmosphere exudes warmth and character, making it the perfect setting for a leisurely coffee break or a productive work session. Food: Breakfast Burrito - A hearty and satisfying option. It can be customized with steak, chicken, or vegetarian options. We chose the succulent steak. Waffle - Adorned with fresh strawberries and banana. A delightful sweet treat that perfectly complements the coffee experience. Coffee - Tellus boasts an impressive selection of specialty coffees, including single-origin pour overs that cater to the coffee aficionado. However, the only downside I encountered during my visit was the limited seating capacity, which led to some difficulty finding a place to sit, even during a weekday afternoon. They do have extra seating in the back, but I found all those seats filled. Fortunately, someone left their table right after we ordered, though the table was somewhat small, really not suited for two laptops plus two dishes AND drinks. The place could benefit from a larger space to accommodate its loyal clientele more comfortably. Overall, my experience at Tellus Coffee was exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow coffee enthusiasts and casual patrons alike.
