Excellent restaurant! I was expecting the food and service to be mediocre and more of a tourist restaurant but was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic and not to mention the views were amazing. There were 4 of us for dinner and we had fine dining, they also offer casual dining. I started with the butter lettuce salad which was amazing! I am a cherry lover and this salad has bing cherries, I loved it! As for the main course one person had the steak tartare and someone had the scallops and the third person had the duck breast and I had the Pacific Barramundi. Everyone raved about their meals. You do have to take the tram to get to the restaurant and I wish you would get a discount or the restaurant would validate because you are charged $34 per person for the tram and I think that is a bit pricey then add the cost of the meal. I have to say the experience was great and the meal was fantastic! read more

If you want a restaurant with good views, this is the place! I would recommend making a reservation in advance as it can be a long wait when you get to the top. Bar seating is first come first serve but the best views are from the table seating. Naturally it's a little more expensive as it is the only restaurant on the mountain. We came on a chilly winter day so it was a nice break from the wind. You can order hot chocolate too to help warm you up! There are several hiking trails right near the restaurant and the ski lifts as well. All in all, a good restaurant with even better views! read more

Absolute rip off! $100 for drinks and what they call chip trio! Ugh. Born and raised, 10 generation New Mexican and took my out of town son and his girlfriend for appetizer and drinks! Chip trio! Chips were all broken, hair in them, out of a bag from grocery store seems like. The guac wasn't bad, but definitely out of a bag. Queso with green chile! Cold. No chile! Oh, and the portions of dip, what the heck? You could maybe get 3 scoops from the broken chip and dip was gone! Worthless. But here's the kicker, the fresh salsa was PACE salsa! The cheapest no flavor salsa ever that you buy off the shelf at grocery store! $17!!!! For what cost Ten 3, a buck to of pre-made grocery store fair! Horrible! Talk about false advertising for a restaurant! I know this is a place for tourist suckers, but come on guys! Let's try to show tourist GOOD New Mexican food, not crap! Please! I feel so ripped off! Gorgeous day, table by the window- fantastic start. Food- So disappointing. Four of us for lunch today. Ordered the chip trio- meh. The portions are tiny guac no flavor, salsa no flavor, queso blanco pretty good. Fried pickles- these are fried but they don't taste like pickles. Lunch- brisket Sammie (2), no seasoning on a burnt hoagie roll, duck confit salad- inedible. Old dry crispy duck- might have been fried? Some of it burned to the point it was inedible. Flavorless dressing and a ton of wonton skins. So bad. The chicken wrap is in a rubbery wrap but the inside was edible. Fries were edible. When we mentioned the duck was really horrible thee manager came over and offered two free glasses of water to go. I'm speechless. The server was lovely. The tram ride was a neat experience (no seating and it is a 15 minute ride) with breathtaking views! It was very cold and windy on the mountain top so we went right in for dinner. Our experience in the casual side of the restaurant wasn't as impressive as the views! Best part of the meal was the great table right by the windows. It took several minutes for our waitress to arrive, we placed a drink order and also ordered the tempura vegetables. She assured us water was on the way. After several more minutes of waiting we were again told water was on the way. More waiting and we finally got water & our app arrived, still no drinks. We finished our app and 3 of our drinks arrived with a weird excuse for why the fourth was missing. Our appetizer platter and plates were snatched off our table and we were all asked to hold onto our silverware so we all took our napkins off our laps so we didn't have to lay our forks right on the table. Finally the fourth drink came out with our mains. Our party selected a chopped salad with added chicken, Caprese sandwich with added bacon, the Munoz sandwich and the sirloin. The salad was a hearty serving but underwhelming. The Caprese had one piece of bacon added, the Munoz and Sirloin were enjoyed. We had planned to order dessert but the profiterole was all ready sold out and our service was so hit or miss we didn't feel like waiting for anything else. Let me start by saying this was a once in a lifetime experience for me. I went for my mother's 60th bday and because she loves hiking and sky views this place was a given. The tram ride to get there was terrifying to say the least. Not because of anything they could've controlled, I'm just deathly afraid of heights. I received a voicemail the day before telling us to arrive at least an hour early so that's exactly what we did. Our reservation was at 5 for the fine dining room and when we checked in an hour early they took us to what turned out to be the casual dining room. (That wasn't an issue, we were able to have some apps and drinks on that side and still go over to the fine dining side for our reservation.) The fine dining side has fantastic views! We were seated at a table by the window which had a card with my name and a happy birthday for my mom which was a nice touch. The drinks were just okay. The highlights of our dinner were the lobster eggrolls, strawberry bread, and the lavender cheesecake. Stay away from the crab cake appetizer! It was the worst crabcake I have ever had and that is not an exaggeration. Way too much breadcrumbs, 0 flavor, hardly any crab meat and definitely not lump. The lamb was tender and flavorful but the beets and feta combo it's served with is very confusing. All in all, it wasn't terrible but it left a bit to be desired. This was an extremely disappointing experience from the very beginning. Although the dining experience was good and the food was delicious, there are few meals good enough to wait 90 minutes to be seated and then be held hostage at the end of the evening waiting another 90 minutes for a tram to get back to the parking lot. When the tram operators can figure out how to work more cooperatively with the restaurant to get restaurant goers to and from it might be a nice experience...until then expect a 90 minute wait before and after your meal that feels more like waiting in a bus station than a fine dining experience...miserable!!! read more

Went to Albuquerque for the warm weather. Turns out there's a "cool" place to enjoy the view, enjoy the drinks and have a great meal. The temp in April was in the 40's and plenty of snow on the mountain. If you have the time, enjoy the food and beverages at the Ten 3 on top of the Sandia mountains. Awesome tram ride. We made a reservation for 4 and requested a specific waitress, and seating we didn't get either. The appetizers I would call small, the main course was salty, one person received the wrong order. After about 10 minutes the waiter offered to take the rest of our meals and keep them warm while they remade the bad order. We ordered desert which was very small. All the serving sizes seemed small. The ambiance was nice, the bar area was nice and the bar staff were very friendly serving very nice drinks although over priced. This is a cool and elegant eating establishment at the top of the sandia mountains in Albuquerque. You can get there easily by riding the tram, however, we drove up and parked on the east side of the mountain and skied over to the restaurant. It has reasonable prices and a nice selection ( especially for being on top of a mountain!). It was very busy and all the seating next to the windows was full when we went. We sat at the bar and still had a nice outdoor view. We just wanted a snack and got beer and fries. The French fry plate was enormous and delicious- and only $6.00. Recommended! read more

For me, the five stars comes from the location and the service. There just aren't many restaurants that offer this experience! I grew up in ABQ, and I still love riding the tram up to eat over looking the city. Never gets old and if you've never done it, you can't leave ABQ without eating here. Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive, helped us with the menu and our questions, made us feel welcome, never let us run out of refills, and checked on us often. The food was very good. Not the most unique or overly memorable, but honestly good. The blue corn cornbread they bring out was REALLY good though!!! It just makes for a really special outing. We attended the Balloon Festival & had reservations for 4 for dinner at 6:15 pm on Saturday, 10/7/23. The restaurant was very welcoming & the ambiance at the top of the Sandra's is lovely. It was very difficult to see the night balloon glow. Sadly, our service was the worst I've experienced in fine dining. We ordered adult beverages, appetizers & salads & our meals. At approx 7:30, we still didn't have our salads or appetizers, our beverages were finished & we had to request water. When we inquired about our order, we were advised that the beets on the salad didn't meet the chef's expectations. Substitute salads were prepped & delivered by 7:45 pm. We then inquired at the front desk to speak to the manager, for surrounding tables had been served multiple courses and had departed while we were still waiting for our food. A young man approached the table, but did not introduce himself and stated that he would be checking on our food. Fifteen minutes later, 8:15 pm, we inquired again with the front desk to see the manager. We were advised that the manager was meeting with employees and that employees were a higher priority than customers. By this time, we had to inquire with multiple waiters to fill our waters. And still no appetizers or meals served. At 8:30 pm, our meals & appetizers were presented. The pork chop, ordered medium well, was over cooked & very difficult to cut. The waiter quickly addressed & removed the item from our bill. Soon after, the manager, Bill, approached our table with hands on his hips and with 2 gentlemen standing on each side of him. He advised us that he had been meeting with employees & that his employees were more important than customers. We inquired what happened with our food & how he was going to accommodate the situation. He advised that we were offending him & that he didn't need to take that from the customer. He also raised the volume of his voice & stated that he was not going to stand there & go round & round with us. He agreed to review our bill and to determine with his team on how to accommodate the situation. He returned & placed our receipt on the table with no explanation. Upon review they reduced tte bill by 50%. Not once did they ask if we would like another adult beverage or water with our meal. I know..why didn't we get up at some point & depart for Taco Bell due to the very poor service?!?! Because, they hold a credit card on file with reservations & will charge for no call no shows. Therefore, you are trapped on top of the mountain. I do not recommend this restaurant! read more

At the top of Sandia Peak, this little place is very nice. Great views and great beer. My wife had the Bosque Jetty Jack Amber and I the North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner. Both very good and each were nine bucks per pint. We shared the Chips Trio, which is $15 and comes with red salsa, guacamole and queso. Food good. Service times not so good. Started evening getting sat at 8 (30m after reservation time) and didn't get our dinner till 9:20p. We couldn't get desert (to go) because our server disappeared. We had to chase him down by asking another server. We didn't finish till almost 11p so that's a long dining experience. And we didn't hang around. Believe me we were tired by then. 3 stars because food was good and the venue is fantastic. Couple suggestions. Don't charge to enter the park and don't charge to take tram if you've got restaurant reservations. It was $500 for dinner for 4 of us of which $53 per couple (park fees) just to sit and have dinner so that doesn't make sense. Also, ask the tram team to notify parties sitting in bar at Santiago's so they don't miss their flights. Or give them buzzers or something. We were way early and caught the next one but just as a courtesy perhaps. I think for a "5 star" or upscale experience there could be some service improvements for sure. We couldn't get desert because our server missed that opportunity plus it was so late. Perhaps if we got our courses more timely we would've had all 4 courses. It was a birthday so... Disappointing lunch today due to poor service. After being brought an entree I didn't order, I had to wait 23 minutes for the correct one. Sadly, my 3 fellow diners had finished eating. I would have thought that the error would have been corrected immediately, but I watched as 7 other diners were brought their orders before me. I expected more from a restaurant that charges $22 for a Beyond Burger with a side of pasta salad. Saying "I'm sorry" wasn't enough. On a positive note, the views from the dining room are spectacular, especially if you are seated at a table by the window. This is about the only thing Ten3 has going for it. Our waitress was pleasant however she may have been new to fine dining (if that is what you categorize it). I don't like to be a snob bit there is a demeanor of a fine-dining waitress. She is confident and knows how to speak. I don't think it helped that there's was a typo on the wine list and it was very difficult to pronounce. So I would recommend the manager check their menu prints. It is the Merlot Matanza wine. She was prompt but we should have had plates and flatware before our 2nd dish came out. The sauce was incredible and the mash potatoes were a bit dry. I have to say they need to marinate their brussel sprouts with more flavor, all I tasted was charred veggies.  The matanza wine was delicious it does have an impact since it was 14.5% alcohol.  We decided to order something with chocolate. We got some type of chocolate tarts it was more like a graham cracker crust with a ganache filling topped with roasted marshmallow. Meah... waste of calories.  Leaving the restaurant is another story. We finished dinner around 9pm. We didn't get down the tram until 10:50. The winds were holding up the ride and there was an inflow of people so the wait til was redic  2 hr wait to get down. We split the ride, so I went down solo just to save 30mins. Was all that worth the trip... I guess it depends on who you are with and how you care to spend your time. read more

Not sure how their food is. We had reservations to eat at their restaurant (sunset side) and they acted really strange getting us checked in. The hostess told us to wait a minute and about 10 minutes later reappeared with another woman. They told us they could not honor our reservation because we weren't dressed appropriately. They claim we were in athletic wear but I wholeheartedly disagree. I'm not sure when full length black leggings became athletic wear. Anyways, they told us we could just go over to the other restaurant that doesn't require reservations. We decided to spend our money elsewhere. They ended up charging my mom a $150 cancellation fee. After telling our story to other workers at the tram, they were all astonished that we were treated that way. Maybe I should mention that there were other customers wearing plain black leggings and the hostess was in a short skirt with doc Marten boots (doesn't seem like they follow their own conservative dress codes but expect us to?) Okay, so I made a generalization before stepping into TEN 3, when I stepped in I figured since it was the grand opening month most service kinks probably hadn't been fixed yet. BUT.. I was wrong. I have been to a few restaurants around town when they first open and really felt like the quality of service had some work to do. What I will say, is they have hired some of the best people around town to bring you exceptional service. They are friendly and well experienced. I enjoyed dinner with my mother, my mother in law, and my husband. We were all were very pleased from the wine selection, to the appetizer, dinner, and desserts ( yes we ordered 2 ha! ).. I ordered the short rib and the rest of my family ordered the rib eye. If you are vegetarian, there were a few selections on the menu that I almost ordered even tho I prefer to eat meat. So I think you are in good hands if you have certain dietary restrictions. I will say you can't go wrong with eating at TEN 3 for any occasion as well. The place is intimate but could still cater to a larger party if needed. That location is priceless and picture worthy. I would recommend business casual dress attire at night. I had the most amazing time on opening night with Nikko as my server, Bill as our manager who checked in every 30 minutes, and the entire staff who made us feel so welcome on Day 1. Grand openings are always crazy, but it was the most surreal treat to have Benny and Sandra come by and chat with us too. Such great food, drinks, and views! I was super pleasantly surprised to be writing this review. Sometimes, when the ambiance and view is so breathtaking, the food and service are kind of "meh". That is not the case here. Obviously the view is worth it, but the staff is very well trained. They are knowledgeable without being obtrusive. Maya was very sweet and attentive. The menu was wonderful and imaginative. I had the miso glazed tiger shrimp on the most amazingly flavorful rice I've ever eaten. My hubby had the chicken chop with Marsala gastrique that was not only packed with flavor but tender and juicy as well. He started with the seared Ahi and I ate the spring greens, so there was no room for dessert. And don't even get me started on the bread. A scheduling error that turned into a fabulous night As a full-time mom, nurse practitioner, wife, and part-time Ph.D. student, date nights are hard to come by. I thought I had booked a table for a Saturday night at 745 and even secured the elusive babysitter for the occasion; more on that later. As an aside, the day Ten 3 opened, I wanted to try this dining experience. I grew up hiking the La Luz trail and had dinner at the previous restaurant throughout growing up here in the Land of Enchantment. Saturday night arrived, and my husband and I joyfully left our two children and drove to the Tram. Upon arrival and checking in at the base of the Tram, we found out I had made the ultimate mistake, and our reservations were for a Monday at 745. "No worries, go up and see if they can fit you in," was the reply. So my husband and I climbed aboard the Tram Car and enjoyed the scenery. While on our way up the mountainside, we met a couple; visiting Albuquerque. We switched areas so they could enjoy the views better. Once to the top, we checked in with one of the three Hostess. I explained that I thought I had reservations, but instead, they were for Monday. The younger Hostess replied, "that's ok, you can come back Monday." Please insert a long pause for all parents. Securing a babysitter, finishing work at a decent time, and enjoying a Monday night date is impossible in parent land. Luckily the manager was on site. He heard my explanation, and the couple we met earlier, standing near us, said, "we don't have a reservation either; we were just hoping we could get a table." The manager always had a positive demeanor and asked us to give him a moment. When he returned, he expressed his apologies but on a Saturday night, no tables were available. I spoke up and told him no worries and that we appreciated him. I think I speak for all of us in New Mexico that we are thrilled to see businesses thrive, and we appreciated his time. He offered all four of us a glass of champagne, and we were placed on the waiting list for bar seating. Upon receiving the champagne, we found out the young couple was celebrating a birthday. We toasted to the young lady and exclaimed that she was our good luck charm. So even without reservations, we enjoyed the Tram and a complimentary glass of champagne. A few minutes later, a woman came up to me and offered me her table in the informal (think around the bar) seating/dining area. I said yes and thanked her, then invited the couple to eat with us. We were seated and still had a nice view of the east side of the Sandia Mountains. Beautiful, to say the least. As we got to know each other the manager re-appeared, a table in the formal dining had opened. Would we like to eat there tonight? Of course! We moved to the formal dining area and again were greeted with breathtaking views as the sunset and the lights of Albuquerque winked at us. We ordered a bottle of wine and then had an indulgent and well-thought-out meal. Our waiter Tom, with bright orange framed glasses, was full of stories and ideas for us. Between dinner and dessert, the Head Chef came by and greeted us. What another wonderful surprise. We ended the night with a slice of birthday cake for our new friends. I sincerely think we were given half of a cake. Our night ended with a sugar high and another gift-bottled mineral water from England. I am not sure if we could have even planned such a great night. We enjoyed new friends, beautiful views, fantastic food, well-curated wines, champagne, and a staff who are easy-going and helpful on a busy Saturday night. It is not hard to see why this place is so popular. I know my husband and I will come again ( I will double-check my reservation next time). I recommend you bring a relaxed and appreciative attitude and try out Ten 3. read more

Had a great time riding the tram and hiking today then decided to get a bite in the bar. Everything was good until then. Took awhile to get service, they were semi busy. We ordered drinks, wings and fried pickles and also asked the bartender if she could wipe down the bar where we were sitting. She looked at us and just walked away. Ok... Took a long time to get our food and nothing came out hot. The fried pickles were still really good. The wings not so much. I bit into one and the meat was kinda rubbery and still a little cool- tells me they were frozen and microwaved. We waited and waited for the bartender to come back around and when she asked if we needed anything else we told her about the wings and she actually rolled her eyes at us. Never got asked if we wanted anything else to drink or waters filled while sitting there. We paid our tab and left. I will definitely take visitors up on the tram again but will not be giving Ten 3 my business. read more

Reading the reviews I was skeptical about this place...but they couldn't be more wrong! I made reservations for 7:30. Open table had them all booked up but I called and they had people cancel so always call and make sure. They told us that since it was close to balloon fest to be there an hour and a half before to get enough time to get the tram. $3 to park(cash only) and $25 per adult to go up the tram FYI. The tram line was LONG. At least an hour wait. However since I made reservations at the restaurant a nice lady came down asking and confirmed our reservations and scooted is to the front of the line and had us on the next tram up! Couldn't have been more happy with this! Really made getting up there a lot easier and stress free. We got to the top after a nice 15min fairly crowded tram ride to the top which gave us amazing views of the Rio Grande valley. At the top it's a short walk to the restaurant where they had us sit at the bar until our table was ready (we were about an hour early due to skipping the line) we got some drinks and chatted. The bar had a small menu that was for the bar and first come seating at tables on one side of the restaurant. Their signature cocktails were very tasty. After about 30 mins our table was ready. We sat on a different side of the restaurant than the bar and other tables. This side is for reservations only and has the best view of the Rio Grande valley and ABQ. My girlfriend got the ribeye and I got the fillet. Both were amazing. I could've used another side for the fillet but the smashed potatoes were enough. The ribeye was out of this world though. Cooked to perfection with quite a large portion and had to be top prime cut the way the marble quality was. Mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts set it off. Really extremely well made. Paid about $50 for each plate so be prepared. I thought for the amazing food, atmosphere, views, and great service it was worth the price. I really hope somehow this review get back to the chef who made our steaks and he/she gets a hearty pat on the back for those meals. read more

Terrible service and prices are outrageous. They've almost doubled their prices. The experience isn't like before. Don't waste your money. Seems like management has changed and not for the better. Miss the good ole days here. read more

I really want to like this place (stunning views, restaurant is beautifully built) but the terrible service and overly salty food took our experience down several notches. If you have patrons celebrating special occasions, it might be a nice touch to offer dessert or seat them at the open table with a view. There isn't much leniency with the staff here. As for the food, the sweet potato fries had mounds of salt on them and my ribeye that I had requested medium was sent to me rare. Regardless, I would like to see how this establishment improves. I recognize that it's fairly new and still ironing out some kinks. Hoping for the best! read more
