We have been here for the finde dining but this was the first time we sat at the bar. I like that they don't require reservations and that it is a nice relaxing atmosphere. I had the Mac and cheese which was ok but I was impressed with their cocktails and their brisket sandwich. My husband and I shared both entrees and agree that the sandwich was quite tasty. We came early afternoon and the crowd was light. Our bartender was friendly and really knows how to make a good cocktail. After our meal we took our drinks to the outdoor deck and enjoyed the view. My husband and I drove up the back of the mountain to the Ellis Trail and walked in. This was an extremely pleasant walk through groomed snow (for the cross country skiers). It took about 30 minutes to walk in with a few stops for hellos and photos. Once there it was super satisfying to see the new restaurant that's been brewing for a few years. Beautiful from the outside, it's exquisite inside too! One of the reasons I am giving this a four star. We went at lunch. We each ordered burgers, fries and a beer. The draft beer selection was excellent! The beer was too! The lunch was ok. My brioche roll was stale, burger was dry. French fries greasy and underdone. Came to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. The restaurant views were nice and we eere seated fairly quickly even after tram delays due to the weather. I was a little hesitant about dining here only because of mixed reviews about the food but I loved the meals we ordered! The steak frites was suuuper delicious and well seasoned and fresh! Perfect combination of flavors in the fries and steak. The kobe beef meatloaf was also delicious along with the mashed potatoes. We both shared our entrees together and we got super full afterwards. The views of course were fantastic. However, if you're doing casual dining I would keep in mind they seat you facing away from the city lights and your view is the mountains. What an incredible experience! First the tram ride was amazing! Seeing the mountains up close, watching the night skyline of Albuquerque, and the tram drivers fun facts was something to cherish. Since I was at the peak, I thought I'd check out the restaurant plus it was my birthday so .... what the heck. After checking in with the hostess, I was able to be seated right away in the bar area. This area has more of a casual atmosphere and lighter food than the main dining room. The bar area had a great bar area with many tables and a wall of windows with incredible views. The server had greeted me within a few minutes after being seated. I had opted to try the Smash Burger which came with fries. Within 15 minutes, the burger was delivered. The burger was incredible and the fries were seasoned just right. The server did check in once. The busser picked up my plate, I had sat another 15 minutes before the server asked about any desserts. I would have but I decided against it. After checking out the view, enjoy a meal and a drink. I would overall recommend checking this restaurant out. read more

I'll start off to say that everything is extremely overpriced. I get that the cost of transporting food up to the top is likely pricey and that cost is passed on to the consumer--but $9 for apples and peanut butter (from the kid menu) is a bit ridiculous, especially when they can get an entree and fries for a dollar less. We went for a late lunch after spending the morning hiking the trails. A couple was in a heated exchange with the manager as we were walking up to put our names on the waitlist. Long story short, the couple called ahead and were told that they could bring their dog to the restaurant/patio; upon arrival, the couple was told that they would not be able to dine there--not even order carry out because they had a dog with them. The manager was overreacting toward the couple, saying they couldn't order carry out because it is bad for the environment. Obviously upset that their day wasn't going to go according to plan, the couple were mild mannered compared to the ill-tempered manager. Another family was told they could not bring in their walking sticks. We were pretty dirty and sweaty from our hike. I don't understand how I would be allowed in with dusty shoes and probably smelling a little not so fresh, but walking sticks--the ski pole type and whittled wood--had to be left outside. We didn't wait long for a table. The bar area was full, so we were seated in the main dining area. Water and drink orders came out quickly. Our food took a while, but we were enjoying the views and conversation. The curried cauliflower was OK. I know that both yellow curry and cauliflower have a mild flavor, but the dish could've used some salt and pepper, and maybe a sprinkle of something aromatic to give it a boost. The butternut squash puree had the consistency of the slime my kids bring home from birthday parties, and also lacked flavor. I love a good smash burger. I was a bit skeptical about ordering a bison smash burger--since bison is a lot leaner than beef, and I should've listened to my instincts. The burger was dry. Adding extra aioli to an already dressed burger didn't help, nor did it add flavor, which the burger as a whole was severely lacking. The meaty part of the bacon was burnt and the fatty part needed to be rendered a little more--but that would've turned the meaty part of the bacon turn to dust. This was not our first visit to Ten 3, and will likely not be our last--but we probably will take a picnic or go out to eat at another restaurant after we're back down from our future hikes. read more

My husband and I love traveling to eat at new places. We came from Idaho and we were so pleased. We followed the instructions we were given and arrived at the tram an hour before our reservation. Since we had a reservation we did have priority for the next tram and we were able to wait in the indoor waiting area instead of outside with everyone else. So that was nice! The tram ride was great and we rode facing the city to see the city lights. Once we got to the top we went to check in for our reservation. The bar area was packed so we weren't able to wait inside for our table. However, they have a to go area at the bar so we did order a drink there while we waited. Our server was Tommy and he was great. We were so pleased with his customer service, suggestions and knowledge of everything the restaurant had to offer. Spectacular view, the restaurant itself is pretty incredible if nothing else for the magnificent Mountain Views. Prices considering the portion sizes that were coming out of the kitchen were very fair. They charge a $15 plate split fee, however, two people could easily split a meal. I wouldn't consider this 'fine dining'. I was surprised that many were in yoga pants, casual shoes, etc. If you're expecting a fine dining experience, I wouldn't have too high of an expectation (even waitstaff wore jeans). The food was just 'ok'. People around were raving on how great the food was, I found the pork pretty bland needing something more. The view alone is worth it! This weekend we came to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM and came to Ten 3 restaurant located at the top of the Sandia Peak.... Folks....You gotta try this place!...Not only the food but the view of Albuquerque from the Sandia Peak is stunning. The restaurant has a view of the entire city from every where you are seated. Reservations are so limited due to the high demand of this place. This is one of the very few iconic restaurant where the food is incredibly awesome!! I like to recognize Maya for take care of us. Maya was so nice, courteous and always attentive on every need we might have. She is so knowledgeable efficient and super fast. She really show how important customers care is. There were a lot of open tables and under utilized space but given the conditions it's better to be safe than sorry with the staff and patrons. This restaurant is located on the top of the Sandia Peak Tramway. It has a bar in the middle with surrounding seats and tables. The conductor of the tram told us that they have to bring up all the ingredients and water that morning since its located on top of the mountain which was pretty cool. I would not recommend this restaurant. They demand that you honor the reservation or you pay a fine. So, when we rode the tram up last Saturday for reservation at 7:15, they locked the doors and closed early, leaving us stranded. The tram closed down because of lightning and thunder. There was no reason to close the restaurant, especially when we were already up there and had paid $60 to get to the top of the mountain by tram. We had to wait till after midnight before we were able to get a tram back and we food the entire time for our 22nd anniversary. The manager, Bill, was rude and talked over us while trying to ask for an explanation. There was no early call or warning that the restaurant would be closed due to lightning and weather. Having not been here since the remodel it was a nice reward to visit after hiking the crest with my toddler. He loved his peanut butter apple, but did not really touch much else. My food was great and I ate pretty quickly. Our waitress was very nice and got us enough water when we left to refill our bottles. It is always funny coming in because you could either be a mess and sweaty or there are people dressed nicely having ridden the tram up. We visited last week and were a bit underwhelmed overall. First of all, the reservations people need to chill! They contacted my son THREE times within a 24-hour period to make sure we were coming; one of the calls he got was 45 minutes before our reservation while we were in line for the tram (and he had already told them we were coming the two other times he was contacted). It was a really cold day and despite all of those contacts about our reservation, we checked in with the hostess station just before our reservation time (5 PM) and were not allowed to wait inside. They told us that there was not enough "capacity" to have us wait inside, yet the restaurant was empty and we were the first guests to arrive. The pros of our dining experience were the servers (ours were fantastic and attentive). The food was decent--my filet of beef was cooked well, but there were some misses (I would not order the crab cake, fried polenta, wasabi crusted tuna, nor the Caesar salad again). The desserts were probably the highlight (we ordered one of each for our table to share--the creme brûlée in the phyllo pastry was our favorite). The cons, the restaurant owners and tram had a deal before where you got a discount for the tram if you ate at the restaurant...but no more (we paid full price which is okay if you don't live in Albuquerque and want to experience the tram). Someone (the manager??) instructed our waiter to reprimand my son for taking his 18-month old daughter to the window to look outside before our food arrived (which seemed a bit rude; she wasn't running around the restaurant nor making a ruckus before then to elicit such a response). The food was decent but not the best meal I've had in the area and for that, we ended up paying over $700 for 6 adults (tram tickets and food). read more

We recently rode the tram on April 23 and didn't know whether we'd make it to the restaurant since it was a windy day. But we were able to squeeze in a meal before we had to go back down. We ordered beers from the bar at Ten 3 while we waited for our tables and also ordered a hot dog for our child. We enjoyed the views, and local brews and were so excited when our buzzer went off and it was time to sit down and enjoy a hot meal since it was windy and pretty cold. The service and food were great. Interior of the restaurant was lovely...beautiful artwork on walls. Lovely bar area and restrooms. This place is for the spontaneous adventurer (if you're planning on taking the tram since you can't guarantee the weather.) Our out of town guests from Michigan loved it. This restaurant is not well managed and the food is mediocre. We were a party of 6 and the hostess sat 3 parties before us who arrived after. Including a party of 5 and a 2 and 4. We could have fit at the 5 top (banquet) and when we did get at we had to sit 2 and 4 anyway. When I ordered the burger they said they don't take temperatures on that, "it's a smash burger". Not worth the trouble. After checking in with the restaurant at the base of the tram we waited about 25 minutes for the next tram (they're supposed to be every 15 minutes) Our reservations were for 7:00 and we arrived at the front doors at 7:10 to find them locked. We looked around for another entrance for about 10 minutes before we called the restaurant and were told they gave away our reservation because they had called us and we didn't answer. Unfortunately this was while we were in the tram where there's no phone service and we never got the call. The fact that we had checked in at the base so that they knew we were coming up was irrelevant to them. They refused to send someone out for us to talk to. I was able to finally get in through a side door and asked the hostess if I could speak to the manager and explained the circumstances. She left and came back a short time later to say that the manager was too busy to speak to me. I made a final appeal for anywhere in the restaurant as we had just flown in from out of state, it was our wedding anniversary and our daughter and her fiancé had made the reservation for our special night. Again, they refused. Waited in line for another hour to ride down in the tram. It was almost 10pm before we got to our car. I have never seen my daughter so upset and I will not attempt to eat there again when we come back for a visit. Hands down my worst experience ever at a restaurant. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to Ten3. The tram was a lot of fun and we truly loved the view. We arrived at the top around 12:30 on a Saturday and waited about 30 mins for a table. Our server Jon was funny, friendly and knowledgeable. We give 5 stars to him and our cocktails. My wife still talks about the margarita with the green chile. The dry rubber wings were a great appetizer. Loved them. Sadly the entrees fell short. I had the carne asada street tacos with beans. Meat was a little tough. It and the beans needed a little salt. My wife had the adult Mac n cheese with braised brisket added. The Mac was a bit thin and flavorless. The cheese sauce was very liquid like and noodles were bit over cooked. Not impressed. We had a party of 6 on a Sunday evening. We asked if we could split our checks 3 ways immediately as the waiter approached us for our drink orders, she stated that they do not split checks for a party of 6 and 20% gratuity was added in... seemed like a stretch, but ok. This visit was meant for us to just get some quick bites and drinks before we went on the nature trail. Those "quick bites" turned into 2 hours of us sitting around waiting. Our drinks were drank, our appetizers were shared, and we were all waiting on what seemed to be orders that should take less than 30 mins, especially when you order BLT's and burgers with French fries... by the time our entrees were brought to the table we were all pretty much hangry. When it appeared the minor things I mentioned had been corrected I decided to order the Pork chop again. I never dined at the old restaurant at the top of the tram but I get the impression that this is an upgrade. The view is beautiful. We were fortunate to have window seats and most of the meal was delightful. Our steaks were cooked exactly to the temperature we ordered and our dessert was the right size for the two of us. The polenta appetizer was delicious and felt fairly unique. It was pretty clear that they are still working out the kinks though and it did detract from the experience. Some notes on that, I was contacted 3 times to confirm my reservation and to be told the lengthy rules about dress code and tram rides. We arrived a little bit early to look around at the top but it did start raining. So, we checked in to our reservation about 20 minutes early with no place to wait and clearly zero intention to seat us early. We were less than delicately asked to wait at the bar. I ordered a soda because booze at 10,000 ft isn't really my idea of fun and was given the privilege of paying for soda twice- once at the bar and the refill at dinner. Not huge, but a little ridiculous because I didn't ask to be in the bar to begin with. Anyway, the staff is clearly on tender hooks so none of the interactions felt natural or comfortable. The waiter was so on edge that we got very little conversation about the menu or anything. Just a lot of forced smiles and contagious anxiety from everyone- reservation desk, hostess, wait staff and what I'm assuming was management. Anyway, it was good to try the "fine dining" experience once but we'll probably just stick with the bar and their more casual menu if we go back. Don't worry! I'll sneak a Champagne for you. (Legal age to drink in the US is 21). In the end, he gave me 2 bottles of mineral water. According to Americans, serving free water is an insult. Also, was seated near the blazing hot fireplace while I was wearing a cotton one piece dress. Had to move the table and chairs to keep myself from burning alive. Food: Terrible !! This operation is purely criminal. My fiancé changed our reservation from Sunday to Monday evening within 30 minutes of making it. These crooks had the audacity to charge us $50/each for the Sunday res which wasn't cancelled with the 48 window. Overall good- definitely not a value but the atmosphere is hard to beat. Overlooking Albuquerque in a very nice restaurant! Food was good, the Turkey was excellent mashed potatoes were a bit dry and the stuffing had some odd flavor but I'm not a big stuffing person anyway so really can't say much about that. My husband had the chicken and they barely gave him 4 oz of meat, his risotto was very good. So some good- my glass of wine was way too expensive but I guess it costs 50$ to get a bottle of wine up the mountain! I wouldn't do it very often but it is an experience- oh yeah the service was okay but you definitely need to have a good conversation because it took them an hour to get us our meal. read more

If the tram ride up the mountain isn't exciting enough for you, just wait till you get to the restaurant. The menu is as special as one could hope for in a fine restaurant, considering the effort needed to make any meal possible at this elevation, the fact that it's superior quality makes it that much more impressive. The foie gras was silky and delicious, with the fig reduction the perfect counterpoint to balance the flavor. The crab cake was full of sweet and tender crabmeat. Both the filet and the ribeye were perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were delicious. Roasted bone marrow makes everything even tastier, so don't miss out on these dishes. The three sisters dessert was the perfect end to our meal. The view from the restaurant is spectacular, so make sure you time your dinner to enjoy the sunset. We will be back! read more

The portion sizes were massive. Neither of us could finish our entrees...I wonder if they sell any desserts! Anniversary Dinner Fail: My partner and I had "fine dining" dinner reservations at TEN 3 for our anniversary. Rode the tram up ($75 pricey for a tram ride to get there but also not set by the restaurant) to a beautiful view and a nice cocktail, had a pissing match with management over wanting to sit next to each other instead of across a lengthy table from each other, they offered us a "less desirable" table initially, where we could sit adjacent to each other, then withdrew that offer and basically said the table has to be this way or you can leave. So we left. It was bizarre. Our two-top table was very wide/long. We were really far apart from each other. We like to sit next to each other because 1) neither of us hear well in a restaurant, 2) we usually eat off each other's plate/share food, 3) it's our anniversary, we like each other, we want to sit in the same zip code. I initially moved my chair to the side of the table so we could be adjacent to each other. I was also careful to keep the walkway open, not block anyone, etc. The waitress asked me to move it back per their requirement. So I moved it back. We then rotated the table 90° so the narrow part of the table was between us instead of the long side. In both configurations we were not in a walkway, did not block, bother, or encroach on any nearby table, nor impede movement of guests or service. Then here comes the manager. He says we can sit at a less desirable table or move our table back to its original position. My partner says give us a minute to decide. We decide to take the less desirable table. Manager comes back to us, and now says the less desirable table is no longer available as they are waiting for a larger party (this table was a 4 top, set up for 2, and it was 7:30 which is their last seating time, no one else was coming) and our choices are to turn our table back to its original position or not have dinner with them. So we finished our cocktails and left. And neither of us will ever go back. I felt bad for our waitress as she would've had a tip on a $300 bill. It was a very strange battle to choose given the number of open tables where we could have sat just as desired and other people were already doing, being the last seating, and such a minor detail (that meant something to us). If this was an earlier seating or a fuller dining room, I could totally understand an unwillingness or inability to accommodate. But we were the last seating, the restaurant was not full, and the 4-top next to us even made mgmt aware that they were done & leaving and we could sit at their table. Management had their own "layout and safety" reasons for not letting us sit near each other. 10-3 decided to choose that battle. A bizarre hill for them to choose to die on. I'm sure the food is wonderful. The service is not. 0/10 will never go back to TEN 3. They're just as unreasonably snotty as Level 5. Highly not recommended read more
