OMG guys if you're in this area I promise you will not regret stopping at this restaurant let me tell you the meat fell apart if you try to dip it in the barbecue sauce it was so tender amazing flavor. The staff was friendly and nice. The restaurant is clean as you walk in you see them smoking the meat right in front of you in the huge machines. We got brisket and chicken they were out of ribs unfortunately we showed up about an hour before closing the baked potato with brisket on top OMG. Then let's go inside and grab some delicious coleslaw and I mean delicious. The mac & cheese so good the green beans amazing and it's hard to make green beans amazing and to top it off amazing tap beer was so good I don't remember the name but it was a great beer that I got on tap with a piece of amazing Keylime pie! Not that bad, but not really that great either. What I do enjoy is coming up to the front with the pit in view and being welcomed with the smell of the meat and very friendly pit masters. Once you get inside and have a seat, the atmosphere is really fun and enjoyable and really make this a fun place to come. But if I'm honest, the BBQ is not something that keeps me coming back, especially considering how many competitors are just within a short drive. I don't know why this place is so popular. The brisket is as dry as leather. You have to soak it in sauce to make it chewable. Your jaw gets a work out trying to chew through it. I was going to slam the joint - but let me say that after complaining, Mac made it right. We ordered a 2 meat plate with sausage and brisket and a 1/2 pound of brisket - which the brisket looked good until we sat down to eat. My husband was given a few chunks of the end of the brisket, mine was cut super thick. The meat was served outside and confusing. We got in to get our sides and the selection was small. By the time we paid - the meat was cold - no great loss because when we bit into the brisket it was like beef jerky - tough and not falling apart like good brisket should. No salt and pepper on the tables and the special order of fries was now luke warm waiting on ketchup which was not offered when the lady brought it to the table. Once I started griping (a whole lot of griping) - for a 2 meat plate, a one meat plate, a salad, green beans, french fries, baked beans and two soft drinks almost $40 - that is not an inexpensive meal for 2 as everyone is posting. Now, the good news - Mac came out obviously concerned, explained why the meat is so dry and came back in a few minutes with nice blackened on the outside, fatty, delicious falling apart brisket - they way it SHOULD be. Good BBQ does not need sauce - and this did not - once we were served the wonderful moist brisket. The guys slicing the brisket should have asked - if there is two types, the yummy moist stuff and the crappy leather jerky - they should say - "do you want the good fatty stuff or the jerky meat". Mac made it right for us. I am thankful because I would have hammered the establishment to the ground, but it's obvious that he cares about the business and wants his customers to be happy and to come back. Kudos for excellent customer service. P.S. this was a special dinner as we were celebrating my 50th Birthday, so Mac - thank you - we will come back again and try it again when it is warmer out so our meat does not get cold - or we may go through the sides first, get our meat then pay - there has to be a better way so the meat is still hot. Second takeout order and more of the same. I get there in exactly 15 minutes as told when I ordered. Skimpy $4.00 orders of fries and okra are cold. Beans are a bowl of soup. I ordered half a pound of ribs and got three fatty ribs. Brisket serving also was as much fat as meat. Corn (hard to screw up)and chicken were ok but again cold. Obviously it had been sitting. Ten50 is pricey and it used to be worth it. I got low quality for the price I paid the last two times I tried it. If you are going to offer take out at least have someone in charge double-checking the order and time it right. I'll go to Dickies or Spring Creek from now on. read more

I got moist brisket, jalapeño sausage and chicken torpedoes. Go inside and got pinto beans. The brisket was good, not great. The sausage was not, no seasoning, no smoke flavor. The chicken torpedo was good but anything wrapped in bacon is good. Pinto beans were good. The food prices are high though, $30 for lunch was too much especially when it wasn't very good. Pass by this place all the time since I live near by. Decided to finally check it out. Brisket and sausages and pulled pork were all priced decently. I got the brisket which was $10 for 1/2 lbs and a brisket torpedo which is a jalapeño stuffed with brisket wrapped in bacon (a single one was $2 which I think was way over priced and not work it), and their French fries which to me seemed like a rip off wing stop fries but not as good or tasty, and much much smaller fries cut which they probably do to make it look like you got a lot. I ended up paying $17 just for those 3 things which if you looked at my tray you wouldn't believe that I got $17 worth of food, you'd think I got $10 worth of food. The brisket was meh and so was the "torpedo". Over all though ive had better BBQ for a cheaper price. Go there for the atmosphere if want, the only thing I liked was their house BBQ sauce. I wasn't very impressed by this place and don't plan to be going back again. read more

Went with a customer. Got there early so wait in line wasn't bad. Smell was awesome and really brought on "I'm hungry". Atmosphere inside is clean and spacious and very open. Beef was decent, not great. Pulled pork about the same, but had a small bone with gristle which sort of added an oog factor to have to spit out. Beans were also so so. My guest ordered chicken and said it was overdone. The pepper poppers(torpedoes) wrapped in bacon were good. I ordered1/4 lb of meat x 2 (1/2 lb total) . Got close to 3/4 when all was said and done. You pay by the lb. so it wasn't a bargain. With two drinks, minus tip (10% for basically doing nothing) bill was just over $40 (for both of us). Pretty pricy for a so so lunch. The line was super long going out. I think this will change after the novelty wears off and they have to compete with many other places where if you drop $20 for lunch, you get much better food. Possibly the best BBQ I've ever had... Great new BBQ place in a similar theme to Hard Eight. Get your meats outside and sides and drinks are inside. The difference was in the quality and the prices. Brisket was melt in your mouth tender, with just the right amount of smoke flavor. Brisket stuffed bacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers were exceptional with a creamy center and with just enough heat to make them good but not overpowering. Would definitely order again. Coleslaw was unique in that it seemed to be shredded lettuce with a coleslaw dressing, loved it. Enjoyed their homemade pickle slices too. Prices were reasonable for the quality level. From beef ribs the size of which Fred Flintstone would envy to the USDA Prime Brisket. Baked potatoes, corn on cob,fresh rolls, Texas style baked beans; 7 cheese mac-n-cheese ; cole slaw and on and on with supporting cast of toppers. And all reasonably priced. This was a new place in town that opened a few days ago. Had high hopes since they were always running out of food around 2 pm. We arrived at noon and the lunch crowd was decent, about 15 minutes in line. We ordered moist brisket, pork ribs, BBQ chicken, bacon wrapped jalapeño and mac and cheese. I was somewhat disappointed cause everything was generally lacking flavor. I almost had to use up both cups of BBQ sauce. The brisket was not trimmed and had a huge fat cap still on it. Plus it was cut with the grain, which made it super tough to chew. The pork ribs were ok. The chicken was bland and dry from top to bottom. All the rub was just on the skin. This is a great place for Q! Definitely an experience with the layout and setup. Huge place, but not sure the parking could handle the capacity and there ain't no parking on the 75 frontage road. Came here early for dinner and not that many people had arrived. I assume the Lunch crowd is pretty intense. Interesting setup with the meat served outside by the smokers. You take your tray of meat into the restaurant where there is at least a cafeteria line (take note Lockhart's). You pick your sides, soft drinks, pay and pick out a table in the huge dining room. Much faster than Lockhart's if you are familiar with them. A bar is available for beer and other adult beverages. Brisket and Ribs were outstanding. Some of the best I have had. Great sauces that blend with the meat well. Brisket was quite succulent. Sides were a mix - Onion Rings quite good, Pinto Beans not so. Don't know what they are doing but there is some spice (Curry?) that does not below in there. Doods, Pinto Beans and Fatback are all you need in Pinto Beans. Probably could have been 5 Stars with good Pinto Beans - just don't know how you can screw it up. Prices are up there as you would expect but worth it if you want great Q. A lot of comments I've read on this place are mind-blowing. I've been on Yelp for over 5 years and have only written one or two reviews. I'm not one who write reviews on anything, only if I really feel its warranted. I lived in San Marcos (just south of Austin and west of Lockhart), TX for over 8 years while I was in school and have had some amazing BBQ in the areas. From Franklin's, Salt Lick, Black's, Kreuz Market, County Line, Lockhart Smokehouse, Stubbs, and Louie Mueller. I've also have had Smoke (which is supposed to be best in Dallas). When I tired Ten50 for the first time last Friday I was simply floored on how good everything was. This place is relatively new so of course the service and employees were amazing. My wife and I ordered the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, mac n cheese and the home made banana pudding. They had 2 different types of sauce, one was sweet and the other was smoky. The sweet sauce was pretty good but I didn't like the smoky sauce. The thing about the bbq sauce was......YOU DONT NEED IT! The best bbq I've ever had doesn't need BBQ sauce. The brisket was so juicy and tender, the pork was cooked to perfection and the RIBS......holy crap! The ribs were so damn good I ordered a half pound to go on my way out. I'm not a dessert guy at all but as we were checking out the manager or owner came up and said "we had to try the banana pudding". So we tried one and yes it was the best banana pudding I've ever had! The potato salad was good not amazing and the mc n cheese was a bit rich but still very delicious. We LOVED this place so much we went back yesterday to try out the jalapeño cheese sausage, and get more of the ribs and pork. The sausage was pretty good and pretty spicy. The venue for 10 fifty BBQ is a really good setup, it's an old warehouse so there is plenty of room and some TVs. The BBQ was overall quite tasty. I got some the brisket which was tender and juicy and nicely marbled. I also had the chicken Torpedoes (jalapeños filled with chicken and cheese wrapped in bacon!), I tried a bite of my friends brisket-filled torpedo, and definitely liked it better. The potato salad was also a high point of this place. Fully loaded with bacon and green onions to give it a nice crunch. The potato chunks are yummy too. Definitely a good BBQ place. read more

I'm so happy this place is close to my new home. I took my family(who flew in from Jersey) here & it was all of our first times. The whole rustic feel was great as we waited in line for our meats. The brisket was to die for, the sausage(both) were outstanding, and the ribs didn't last on our tray for 2 minutes! We also had the bacon wrapped jalapeño torpedoes which were on point! The sides were also really good. I love that they give you all the bread you want. The brisket was great on a slice of bread dipped in BBQ Sauce. The staff was super friendly & came around to check on us, he even gave us a free side credit for our next visit! The place is nice & clean & has a nice big open feel to it! This is my 4th time here & I am kicking myself for not taking any pictures!! I love this place, the concept is great. I went here Easter afternoon and the place was packed with people. Service: standing in line with warm heaters and the smell of bbq is something that makes the wait an experience. When I approached the meat cutter they sliced the meat right in front of me. I usually get brisket, turkey, jalapeño sausage, and there delicious torpedoes....so really a little bit of everything. The guys were really nice and asked me how my Easter was. Then I moved inside to grab my sides and the girl who helped me was equally as nice. I got macaroni with extra bread crumbs and potato salad. Taste: this is definitely Texas bbq. I love how fresh everything is because it is local. They smoke there meats wonderfully. I was expecting the turkey to be dry but I was wrong, it was pretty juicy. Cleanliness- The decor is pretty modern. The environment makes me feel like I'm eating in a barn lol. Very clean and staff throughout the restaurant who are constantly cleaning up. Let's be frank.....with the BBQ revolution happening all around town, when you open a BBQ joint these days, you have to bring it. I mean BRING IT! I really, really wanted to like this place. It is close to where I live, and it has the presentation of being a big time BBQ place with big time flavor. I love the building, love the way you order outside, love the space inside. It really is a cool place. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't deliver too much on taste. It was good, as in, better than any of the local chain BBQ joints, just not something that makes me want to "slap my momma". The only thing that really stood out were the bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with chicken. Those..those were tasty. The prices are pretty standard for an upscale BBQ joint. The best value I found was in the bacon wrapped jalapenos. Now, I could eat all of those for a meal. Seriously. The price on those, when you look at the menu seems high, but by weight, they are about $1.00 each. Perfect to throw some money at for a pot luck feast. I think what sets the really high quality BBQ joints from the mid level, and even low tier places, is their side dishes. To me, the side dishes at this place came off as cafeteria food. Something like what you would get at Dickeys or Sonny Bryans. Just not what you serve with high quality meat. I actually have this problem with a few other joints around town, like Hard 8. Maybe that is my beef (this finely tuned, hand crafted pun was intended) with this place, because let's face it.....it is BBQ after all. Hard to decide, but I'm facing a crisis. Here is a restaurant that is nearly identical in execution to Hard Eight in Coppell, from the outdoor smokers and entry through the kitchen to the long-hall dining area and similar cafeteria-style sides/cashier. But Ten50 might actually have better BBQ. We've only been the one time and we don't eat BBQ a whole bunch but this place is pretty stinkin' awesome for local BBQ. Excellent representations of what you're craving. Decent sauces, juicy brisket when I went, and some nice spicy sausage links. Overall, I think Hard Eight wins because of location (we live like 10 minutes away), but Ten50 wins hands down on execution. read more

The people were pretty great, they have a serious set up to smoke some meat! The dining area is clean and pretty nice for a casual place. I think this place is probably a great choice if you want to pick up a few pounds of ribs and sausage to serve at home, but I probably won't eat here again. We liked both the barbeque sauces OK, and the french fries were delicious, but other than that, we found Ten 50 to be nothing special. My $9 sandwich combo came with two lousy slices of bland turkey, and I was upcharged for the aforementioned delicious fries. The combo includes a "house side," which I guess was on the sign outside where you order the meat. Inside where you order the rest of your meal is a board with all the available sides, desserts, and drinks -- but no differentiation of what a house side is. It's not a big deal, and I'm not crying over a buck fifty, and to Ten 50's credit when we mentioned this to someone, he gave us his card and offered us a free fried side item next time. So, that was super cool of them! I didn't love the absence of a green vegetable option. The house sides include: mac and cheese, pinto beans, slaw, or potato salad. If you want corn or a baked potato, remember to order it when you order your meat. My husband didn't love the absence of plates. You eat on the paper-lined metal tray they give you when slicing your meat. It's a solid 2.5 stars, but for the money, I'll go down the road to Spring Creek where they have vegetables to choose from and delicious rolls. read more

I was excited when I saw this restaurant being built close to my office. Today was the day we try it out, so a co-worker and I decided to get there early, so we arrived at 11:30am to find a huge line outside. By the time we made it to the pit where you place your order, the time was 12:15pm...we'd been in line 45 min. That is way too long to try and eat there at lunchtime. There was one lone guy on each side taking the orders and slicing the meat. They could use 2 or 3 people per line to move the patrons on through quickly. Once inside, all the side items are a la carte. The beans were tasty, as was the potato salad. The brisket was juicy, the ribs were dry, but the turkey had a good flavor. Overall, it's a step up from Dickey's, but unless they speed the line/ordering process up, we can't come back during lunchtime. read more

At a recent visit, I ordered the moist/fatty brisket, ribs and sausage (both types). All the meat was tender, moist, but with only a bit of smoke flavor, which disappointed me. The ribs had a little rub and I don't know that the brisket had any rub. The two (thin)sauces were both good, and saved the meat. Without the sauce, the jalapeno sausage was the best of the bunch. I had the potato salad, which was tasty, but seemed kind of a small portion. I had read a review that mentioned key lime pie for dessert, but there was no key lime pie that day. The cashier said the dessert lady makes what she wants when she wants. They should tweet and put dessert options on Facebook if they don't want to commit to a schedule. They did have banana pudding, but that is not appealing to me. I arrived at around 11:30 on Sunday and there were probably 30 people ahead of me in two lines. It took about 25 minutes to get my food and pay. (I smelled more smoky than the BBQ as did my clothes. Don't wear your good stuff here. )There was no one at the bread station and I had to pack food for takeout myself. This area of service needs improvement. The guys at the pits were having a good time, teasing customers and competing with each other. That was a nice touch. I may go back to try the turkey and perhaps give the brisket another chance. If it's not better, then to satisfy future bbq cravings, I will drive the extra 10 minutes north and go to Lockhart's. (And I think Lockhart's is a bit cheaper.) read more

There is a large bar but they were out of Michelob Ultra. Annoying as I really enjoy a beer with my bbq and am currently on a low carb diet. You have to wait in line OUTSIDE to order your meat. I have never seen this. They have mister fans.. but still.. this is texas and it can get HOT! The seeming advantage is that the meat goes straight from the smoker to the eager patron waiting in line. I tried the following.. - Lean brisket - still moist with some fat strips. bland. Rudy's is much better - regular brisket - not my cup of tea. VERY moist, juicy, fatty. bland. - jalapeno sausage - UGH!! GROSS! chunky, no spice at all.. bland. hard. couldn't stand it. oh Rudy's, save me! - pulled pork - fatty. bland - $2 side salad. fresh. just some lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and ranch. This was the only thing I finished. - ribs - bland. fatty. This place is better than Dickey's and Sonny Bryants. Spring Creek and Lockhart is a step better than Ten50 and of course Rudy's still tops them all in my book. I have yet to try the famous Pecan Lodge. Went there with my parents and ten year old. This place is clearly well funded. They are running three J&R wood smokers, an old steel pot smoker, a large reverse flow comp smoker, and a couple of wood grills. Impressive display, every pitmasters dream pit. The interior is huge and very industrial in feel. I was pretty pumped to taste the Q when I saw the pit area. The brisket was good, not great, not bad. It was good and had a nice smoke ring. Seasoning was good, what one would expect from good Texas brisket. Sauce needs work. The Carolina sauce lacks punch. The house sauce was tangy but lacked real flavor. The ribs were good, not great, not bad. Rub was conservative. Not quite a Texas style rub not quite a Memphis style rub.They played it safe. Pre pit prep of the ribs was poor. They were smoked very well however, they were tender and came off the bone with a good pull. The torpedoes were mushy. The bacon was not crispy. They could have taken more smoke and more time in the heat. I do love that they serve them. I make them all the time and when smoked well they are addictive. So again they were good, not great, not bad. The place is expensive, not reasonable, not justifiable, just expensive. Anyway there is better Q for the money. Much better. read more

My mother in law had heard about this place from her work. We decided to try it out one night. The inside is nice. The food was mediocre, I had the turkey and sausage. The turkey was dry. The sausage was good. My wife had the brisket and the ribs, she said the ribs were good, but the brisket was dry. The price of the food was extremely too much for the portion and the taste of the food, hence the 2 star rating. I would recommend going to another BBQ place to get your BBQ fix. Well, I really think Yelp's description of two stars fits my feelings on this restaurant - "Meh. I've experienced better." The meat was reasonably decent. I did the three meat plate. The brisket was unremarkable and fatty. The ribs were pretty decent but again not remarkable. The house sausage was actually pretty good and probably my favorite meat. Additionally, I tried pulled pork that a friend had and it was quite good. The beans were very good although not what I am used to in a BBQ restaurant. They were a pinto bean mix with just the right amount of spicy kick. Very good. All the other sides were mediocre except for the cole slaw. STAY AWAY from the cole slaw. Not good. All in all: MEH. I can only compare to what I deem best. You walk in and meet two pits of meats and order whatever you want. I went with a little a everything so I can try it all. I ordered one rib, a few slices of jalepeno sausage and some brisket for meats. I'm a hard no on the pork rib. It was tough, far from falling off the bone and had an unexpected sweet taste to it. Maybe the toughness was a product of just today's food but would assume that they always have a sweet taste. The sausage wasn't spicy and was very fatty. The brisket was very good but also a fatty cut. I'm positive I could have asked for a lean cut though so I'd probably go this route if we come back. I ordered mac and cheese as my side and while good, the cheese was ever so slightly gritty. Don't get me wrong, I finished it because I love mac and cheese. But ya'll... GET THE PICKLES!! My first Texas bbq experience as found here and boy, it smelled fantastic! I had the brisket, pulled pork, house sausage, and the St. Louis ribs. The sides included coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and the buns. There are two bbq sauces available - an acidic one and a more traditional bow flavor. Everything was delicious! The meats were moist and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was so creamy, the coleslaw gave the perfect acidic kick to the meal and the buns were fluffy. Wow I couldn't have asked for a better first visit. Myself and my wife met two other couples here last night. A Sunday evening at about 7:30pm had me a bit worried they may be out of all the good stuff but it wasn't the case. They had plenty of meat though they were out of the chicken. It wasn't too busy so we moved through the line quickly and placed our order. You do this outside at the smokers before entering the main restaurant. When they open that smoker the drool starts dripping! It was filled with glorious BBQ. You order by the lb but you can break it up pretty much any way you'd like. For our meats we selected a 1/2 lb of turkey: Wonderfully smoked and extremely tender and moist it was! 1/2 lb of pulled pork: Incredibly moist and tender, add a drizzle of that Carolina BBQ sauce to this and you got a dish! 1 hot link (jalapeño cheese): So tangy and smoky, love that oozing cheese! Also snagged a few brisket torpedoes (brisket stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapenos), dip these in some ranch for a little zing with the spice and you'll want to add these to every meal here! Our sides consisted of corn on the cobb (yeah I want butter) which was excellent and sweet. Potato salad was delightful, sweet and smoky from the bacon chunks I just couldn't get enough of this! Mac n Cheese was so creamy and cheesy again we both loved it. Coleslaw was very good too but for me that potato salad stole the show. Also snagged some sweet pickles too (add these in with your bites of pulled pork, or mix your coleslaw onto that pulled pork and you can thank me later). Topped this off with a cup of sweet and creamy dreamy banana pudding, oh it was so good. I'm so glad this place is right down the road from us as I do see myself becoming a regular here when I need my BBQ fix. It is a large open restaurant with plenty of room for large gatherings, families including children as well. They offer a full bar, plenty of beers, and your typical variety of soft drinks and teas.
