Wow! The tortas here were really the best tortas I've ever had - LA Mexican food is no joke. Unfortunately no photos because I ate it so quickly, but the tortas come with tortilla chips, a nice mild sauce (spicier options are put into a condiment container) and the torta is filled with pineapples, meat, and the layers of what's usually included to make the best comfort food melt. Moreover, it's a bonus that they're open during the day so it's easy to come here for an afternoon meal. Yeah, the tortas here are so good that it makes me wary to try another back in Washington. The pineapples are mildly sweet, the avocados and onions give a nice soothing, creamy texture, and the al pastor was super savory and just the right mild saltiness to blend with the rest of the ingredients. The sauce itself was super awesome. This place is really the epitome of a finger licking, cleaning the plate type of deliciousness. If there are any downsides, it might be that the tortas are not very filling in terms of size. The tortilla chips are moreso as a snack rather than part of the meal to fill you up. Great news though - you can buy /two/ tortas and try different styles to make your stomach more happy. They also didn't have lengua but were diverse in the other meat selections that they had. Wow! Short answer: yes. Come try it. We stopped by on Sunday morning. I've been craving chilaquiles for weeks but was too lazy to look for a spot. Today I finally got myself up and saw reviews for Teresa's so we wanted to see for ourselves. Everything was wonderful! I got the chilaquiles plate with rice and beans and we split some guacamole and queso fundido for the table. Everything was fresh and delicious. The guac was fresh, the chips were just the right amount of salt and even the queso fundido had the perfect texture without being too sloppy or hard. I would come back for the cafe de olla alone! I had to ask for a refill to take on the way out. It was a meal I was sad I couldn't finish because I was so full from trying everything. We can't wait to come back. Plus! Greeted by the Owner. We arrived with our party of 6. This place is tiny with a just a few tables. It is decorated quite modern and very well up-kept and clean. The menu was all sounding tasty. But we came for the soup. Choice of green or red posole with pork or chicken. I went with green & pork. This wasn't amazing chili verde broth with the fixings. So good! Ana from the kitchen was also very sweet and attentive. The drinks I had was cucumber lemonade (i think) it was refreshing abc delicious. Kids had quesadillas with ultimate cheese pull factor and horchata to drink. I didn't catch the gentleman's name and it's not on the receipt either, but the gentleman that was there provided excellent customer service, and genuinely cared about my dining experience. It is evident that not only does he know that the food matters, but also equally important, is providing superior customer service to the guest. I wanted to try the chilaquiles at this restaurant since I've seen good reviews but it was very disappointing.. they got my order wrong on the eggs and ended up being raw, they added in some meat that was very chewy. The tortillas from the chilaquiles where very soft and not hard at all, I expected them to be fried or cooked longer. The sauce they added in had a good amount of spicy, if you want these chilaquiles to be sweet this isn't the place for you. For $13 it's a no go for me. I ordered the flan and it was pretty good, it was soft in the middle and the top layer and bottom layer had a good texture. I would not be ordering the chilaquiles again though. I'm from Long Beach but was in the area to drop off a gift to a friend. I decided order take-out and was craving some good chilaquiles (I usually relied on the chilaquiles the staff or parents at my school bring for staff breakfast). To this day, I couldn't find a great place that made amazing chilaquiles, ones that remind me of the homemade ones by the staff at my school or my students' parents. And then comes along, Teresa's Mexican Grill. I saw that they had chilaquiles and when I saw their pictures, I immediately drooled. I ordered the chilaquiles (red) to go and added two over-easy eggs on top. To top it off, I also ordered a small horchata. I couldn't wait to go back home to Long Beach to eat it, but had to make sure I drove home safely with the valuable goods (the chilaquiles). I almost cried my first bite because it tasted exactly like the homemade chilaquiles I used to eat at my school (if not, better - just don't tell my students' parents or the staff at my school). Then I cried again, but this time, it was because of the fact that this location was so far away from Long Beach. The texture was perfect, the amount of sauce was also on point - made sure the tortillas weren't too soggy or too hard, the sauce itself had a kick to it but was spicy enough for me to enjoy. And mixed with the egg yolk, omg.... Perfection. The beans and the rice was, honestly, alright, but the true star here was the chilaquiles. The horchata was a great way to cleanse my palette in between bites so that I am filled with awesomeness each time I take another bite of the chilaquiles. Teresa's Mexican Grill is the real deal! The Strabo tasted alittle old) The pozole Verde is prob the best I've ever had. only issue is that the 1st time I had it, it had shredded pork 2nd time it came w little ribs (that I didn't eat because they tasted like they boiled they were boiled in water no flavor what's so ever) no big deal tho. 1st time here (a week ago) the lady charged me for guac and 2 sodas ( that I never ordered or got). I usually don't look at the receipts but for some reason I did. I caught the error, I walked up to the register brought it to the ladies attention. The lady fixed it, then I went to sit and the math wasn't right, so I asked her for a copy of my receipt. Now she's bothered, the young guy there is rolling his eyes and she smacks his hand when he tried to reprint the receipt. She couldn't figure out how to reprint the bill, so she said I'll just re-bill it and show you a copy. She gives a receipt that says 51.xx and I said you still charged me more than 51 bucks ? She's like no no no, I'm like it's ok The young guy (owners son) comes around reprints the original receipt and hands it to me. She never took off the sodas, so she's staring at me like now what?? So I kinda said, I'll take the sodas don't worry no big deal. And it's wasn't a big deal until we came back again yesterday. I couldn't stop talking about this place w my friends and fam. Food came out, they forgot our tortillas, chiles and extra napkins but we're still loving it. We see the bill she over charged us again ! While I'm looking at the bill I see a guy walk up to her, I'm not sure if she over changed him or didn't charge him for a chile relleno but now that makes me feel better, It's not just me. My BIL asked for all white no yolk, they charge extra. Which was ok, we didn't know they did but the fact that the owner son was getting alittle loud and acting like a d#*k to my sister is the reason WE WILL NEVER COME BACK! Turns out there is a $2 charge for eggs whites not $3 (like we were charged) and it's ok not complaining because if we count afford to eat out we'd be home cooking. The issue is the SERVICE now, maybe the lady shouldn't be running the register? And that kid maybe should work on his customer service skills, nothing like his DAD (owner) He was hella friendly, welcoming. This kids body language says it all, he seems more annoyed to be there. Overall I still recommend this place BECAUSE THE FOOD IS GOOD! like I tell everyone on my social media just double-triple check your bill. One of the best menudos I've had. Also comes with chips on the side. Chicken tortilla soup - I have mixed feelings about this soup. I wish the tortilla chips weren't so big. They use the regular tortilla chips you get with when you order chips and guacamole. I also wish it came with more chicken. But overall the flavor was there and I still enjoyed it. Pambazo de papa y chorizo - flavor is really good, I would've loved for the bread to be a bit more toasted. But still great flavor. Cafe de olla - was OK.. very very sweet... I LOVE cafe de olla and I can drink 2/3 cups in one sitting, but I couldn't finish one cup of their cafe de olla. The flavor is really good.. just very sweet. You can't miss the restaurant because there is a temporary outdoor dining set up outside. There is a menu set up outside as well so you can look at what you want to order. The restaurant is also linked to six online delivery services. Customer service is great as the owner is personally working there. And I was excited to try there green chicken pozole! I ordered the Michelada, Queso Fundido, trio chilaquiles, green and red pozole and their famous PAMBASO. The PAMBASO is a next level torta with chorizo.
