This place has been around for as long as I remember and I hope it'll be around forever. The prices are still so affordable and the quality has never lead me astray. I love the lady taking the orders and how nicely she packs everything away in the to-go bag. There's pride in every step and you can taste that same love in the cooking. My go to is the beef Teri plate, 2 shrimp tempura, and an order of wontons. I always ask for a side of Teri sauce and it has never been a big deal. Lots of places charge extra, or look at you like you're robbing them blind by asking. Not here. Dip your wontons and shrimp tempura in that Teri sauce and thank me later. read more

Forgot how good this place is, since it's just tucked away in a small plaza off of Artesia & Van Ness. Ordered the following dishes: 1) Special Combo- comes with marinated beef & chicken, croquette, chicken katsu, wonton, bean sprouts, salad and rice. The marinate beef and chicken is so tasty! The croquette was crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. My only complaint is that the chicken katsu breaded coating was too thick for my liking and I wish the wontons had more filling inside. Love the seasoned bean sprouts-- has a nice subtle sesame flavor! The rice is perfectly cooked as well! 2) Marinated Combo- the beef and chicken are well seasoned and very tasty. Such an amazing place! Can't believe I just found out about here. We ordered a special combo and a chicken combo, a side of karaage and croquettes. I love the karaage very much! It has a very homey taste. It feels like what my grandma would make for me back home. The combo plate comes with a salad and bean sprouts sides, both sides are tasty. My husband called ahead and went in to pick up with our son. He said the whole ordering and picking up process were very smooth, and the lady was very nice! This has been a go to spot for years. They have a wide variety of Japanese dishes from udon to teriyaki grill to sukiyaki. I usually get their special combo which has both fried items and grilled items. The salad and bean sprouts that come with the meals are great as well. Torrance Food Crawl #262 Teri's Place is located in a small strip mall that has several small Asian restaurants and a few other businesses. There are four tables available for eating there or one can go takeout which seems to be the more popular option. Before my entree was delivered a glass of iced Green Tea was provided. The tea taste was very strong, slightly 'chalky' tasting, and unsweetened. I always like my coffee, hot tea, and iced tea, unsweetened so that was fine with me but I know some others would prefer to sweeten it up. My entree was the Chicken Sukiyaki combo. The chicken was soft and tender. In addition there was tofu, cabbage (perhaps too much cabbage), marinated radishes, noodles, water chestnuts, and some greenery. Sukiyaki for me is a sort of hodgepodge dish with simple ingredients. It's not an exciting dish but a familiar one and it came off fine for me. On the side there also were some bean sprouts (okay), salad (mainly a few chunks of lettuce with some carrots and corn), marinated ginger slices (good), and white rice (nicely starchy). I also had a side of Inari. It came with three pieces. Inari was probably the first thing I ever had in a sushi restaurant and its a nice simple item that has a nice simple taste. My first visit here. Small sit down place with Japanese style food. I'm glad they give bean sprouts instead of mac salad. I had the chicken Karaage which was 8 peices. Cames on top of rice and a side of salad, bean sprouts, and 2 pieces of fried wonton. They were all perfectly fried. I ate in so they gave me a cup of iced green tea. It was very full and flavorful. The service here is always impeccable. The lady/owner is super friendly. The price is unbeatable for the amount of food and choice of protein. The special combo comes with a variety of fried items and meat, and there is always plenty of rice. The curry I can't even put into words, it's so good. It is thicker than other curries I've had but I think that's because they let all the ingredients and veggies melt into it...and then it melts in your mouth. The lady at the front is always friendly. Absolutely my favorite place to get to-go japanese food. It is my second time being here and its a cute little restaurant that can easily be missed since its located in such a small secluded plaza. What I love about this place is the pricing and portions. I ordered the teriyaki beef plate which was around 8 dollars or so, the beef and teriyaki sauce was deliciously drizzled over steamed white rice with a side of seasoned bean sprouts, complimentary fried wontons and a salad. The whole plate of food was pretty big I did not finish it. And I think if you choose to dine inside the place, they will serve you some hot green tea as well. Their miso soup is flavorful and not watery like other places I tried from. I recently tried their curry bowls which are about 5-6$ and surprised on how much they gave for that price.
