Stopped here on the way home from San Francisco. Easy to find off the freeway their menu is pretty basic - two scoops of rice, huge portions of chicken and steamed veggies (broccoli and cauliflower). The food was bland for my tastes with not enough teriyaki sauce but the portion sizes where huge for the price. Service was very fast and efficient and we didn't have to wait very long. Next time I'd like to try something else or ask for more teriyaki sauce! read more

On our way from Hearst Castle back to SF, we stopped here for a quick lunch. The place was clean and had a few customers. We ordered fish n chips and shrimp tempura. The quantity was generous. However both the shrimp tempura and fish n chips had the same coating. The coating was pretty bland. But the worst part was that both were super oily. The fries were oily too. Maybe the non fried items on the menu are good but the fries items were not good. Would not recommend. read more

Stayed a little late in Pinnacles and needed to eat around 8:00. Not a lot of options in Soledad after that! Fortunately this place was open. Not the most authentic but good size portions. Okay, so I always crave Teriyaki and can never get any for whatever reason. Usually because most restaurants that serve it aren't open at midnight when I'm craving it, but ANYWAYS, here's the rundown. You're in Soledad, there's not a lot of options. If you want Mexican Food you're in the right city, but there's only two Asian restaurants and they're right next to each other. Try them. Teriyaki Express is wonderful for many reasons. The one that matters most is the chicken is kickin'! Walked in ordered two Teriyaki Bowls and was a little unhappy about paying 9 bucks a piece, but then I understood when they pretty much served me a whole chicken with a pound of rice. They threw in like two pieces of carrots and one little broccoli head, which is sweet, but lol it's not about that. I eat A LOT and for once I couldn't finish my meal. That says a lot from a person who inhaled their food. Just go on and try it, if you happen to be in town! read more

We were hungry and didn't want fast foood. Found this place on Yelp, after reading the reviews decided to give it a try. Good choice. I had the chicken teriyaki bowl, my husband had the beef bowl, and the kids had fish, shrimp and chips. Everything was made fresh and cooked just right. There wasn't a lot of veggies in the bowls but they made up for it with plenty of meat. They give you plenty of food. 2 persons could share the fish and chip plates. Best part the restaurant was clean and cool. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would recommend if you are wanting something other than a burger. read more

The food here is good and there is a nice variety. I wouldn't say it's 4 or 5 stars good since I kept getting chunks of something coming out of the ice chute which looked like hard water or some kind of hard grey build up. The soda machine definitely needs to serviced before it gets someone sick. I told a staff member but idk if they did anything about it. Check your drinks for floaters folks. read more

We have eaten at this spot a couple times when we have stopped in Soledad for gas or a rest break. Inexpensive but tasty! We like their beef Bento box, but our friend ordered a beef rice bowl and that looked awesome too. If you like sweet relish, try their cucumber salad. I ordered pork katsu. Ordinarily pork katsu consists of a pork cutlet that's been dipped into egg, coated with panko, then fried and sliced into strips, served along with rice and katsu sauce. In this case the pork had been chopped into little pieces, seemingly marinated in a dark sauce, coated on three sides with flour. and apparently stir fried more than oncd in diluted katsu sauce. Not really edible. Steamed fresh broccoli was the only saving grace of the dish. read more

Teriyaki dishes are good when drove long distance. It's not excellent place but it's good for short rest on long trip.

You will not be disappointed by the freshness and the flavors of the food, nor the courteous owners/staff. Go here if you are in the vicinity and you are hungry for a nutritious tasty treat.
